Call me Mr. Picky, but there are a couple of things which preclude this from being a great goal IMHO.  Firstly the blatant foul by Etuhu on the WBA defender and secondly that, hard though the shot was, Simon hit it straight at the keeper who really should have stopped it.  Thank goodness he didn't though.  Carson looked like a disaster waiting to happen for the entire evening.

I don't know what has happened to Carson. He was supposed to be the unquestionable next England No 1 once. Obviously that is many moons ago.
