It's mind-boggling how they drop a load of cash on marketing just to tell us not to use their stuff too much. Feels like they're trying to have it both ways, doesn't it? And yeah, some big names endorsing them do make you wonder.
Personally, I've never been into online gambling, but I know it's a thing for some folks. Meanwhile, if you're looking for something else to explore, you might want to check out some other online casinos. I stumbled upon https://bonusvips.com/, and it turns out to be a cool alternative for me.

It is all about luring you away from a frowned-upon vice to a yet-to-be-fully-frowned-upon vice. When ' I were a lad' we were dissuaded from smoking Capstan Full Strength and Players in favour of the less manly filter-tipped ****. Then someone decided it was safer and preferable to have menthol-tipped **** instead of ordinary tips. And so this scaling down went on and on. At some point in all this my pipe disappeared- I suspect my mum threw it out.

I don't gamble but have seen what it can do to lives and I am amazed that it is allowed to be advertised, especially as heavily as it is. Its pretty unpleasant stuff really.

All governments enjoy too much benefit from the revenue gambling and smoking brings in. So it's not going away any time soon.

And yet you still follow a football team that is sponsored by a gambling firm😏

Shall I go and support Chelsea instead or something?

The reality is that I can't do anything about who sponsors us, I can just refuse to buy anything with the sponsors logo on it.

Freedom of choice is what we as a society are supposed to be about. People have a choice to decide if they want to become and identified as a different sex than they were born into.

But apparently we also have to be policed into protecting those that are vulnerable for making bad choices. An addiction can be dangerous in anything. I will follow my Football club even it it means going bankrupt and having to starve the kids. But should that mean we stop advertising football.

I over eat cake because life is miserable and it gives me pleasure. But I am told that I need to stay fit and not to burden the NHS. Should cake adverts be banned?

How far along the road to prevention and protection do we venture along until we stop allowing pastimes and behaviour because a minority turn into a dangerous addiction.

We now are on the road to banning smoking. We now are banning speech in books or rewriting children's books because of the language. I think there's a debate to be had for less banning and more understanding. If I want cake I shall eat it. The banning of betting adverts will not stop addiction. We have to find a better way to help people than banning things for our own protection. We are heading towards a very slippery slope.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Mostly, that is known as progress.

Although I do agree that books need to remain as written, but perhaps with a caveat at the start of them.

Sometimes I get a little fed up with people telling me what I can eat, drink, etc.
As Mr Lighthouse said banning things will not stop addicts of anything, my mother-in-law was an alcoholic, we tried everything to help her resist temptation, didn't make any difference.

Sadly she wasn't

Banning cigarettes will just drive them underground, criminalise the selling of them, and also, to some, give them an added transgressive allure, while also, presumably, putting greater stress on the court and prison systems.

Look at Cannabis -  does making it illegal and criminalising people caught selling it or in possession stop people using it. Well, just  sniff the air any town centre on a Saturday night, or anywhere where young people congregate, and you will know that it most definitely doesn't.

Smoking has already greatly declined in this country anyway, partly because of  education, and also the price - now  £11 for the cheapest pack of **** available!

Instead smokers, and youngsters - through clever marketing, are encouraged to vape - who knows the  health  effects of this addiction? Of course, the tobacco companies have jumped on this new cash cow, now that smoking ****  is  going out of fashion, and becoming criminalised - nothing to with having friends in high places!!!
