Now the fixtures are with us, what are our targets for our first ten or twenty games in order to avoid the yo-yo. I would say 18 points after 10 games

Avoiding the yo-yo is easy, don't win any games in the next two seasons, which is as simple as spending all our money this season on good loan players but the teamwork not cohesive enough to keep us up and then we lose all the new players and then do the championship with this mob.

This current squad is aging too fast and hasn't got enough depth to even yo-yo at this moment. A lot of players in this squad will be well past it in 2024. We need to add a first XI centre back, attacking midfielder and left winger too even be able to consider yo-yoing.

Do you believe half the things you put on here or do you just do it for some sort of reaction?

What are you on about? Yes, 8 of the current squad will be over 30 in 2024 (Gazzaniga/Kongolo/Cavaleiro/Bryan/Cairney/Kebano/Ream/Reid) but I don't think any of them will even be first team players this season. Most of them weren't even first team players last season!

Tosin and Robinson will have to be sold at the end of the season, if they don't sign at extension, so next seasons first XI is currently Rodak, Tete, Ream, Kongolo, Bryan; Paulino, Reed, Reid; Wilson, Mitro, Kebano with Chalobah, Cairney, Onamah and Cav on the bench that team is too old and to injuried to get ptomoted from the championship in 2024 without reinforcements.

Sting of the North

So what you are saying is that if we don't extend any contracts and don't sign any new players our team will eventually look not so great?

What is even the point of these worst case scenarios? It is utterly unrealistic that we would not extend any contracts and also not sign any players, while also selling players still under contract (Tosin, Robinson). Why would that ever happen,

In the first place, What makes you think Fulham will get relegated.
In the second place you forgot to mention yo yo on this occasion.

Without any extra players we are getting relegated this season and we are not yo-yoing next season. We need players that can get us out of the championship and keep us up in the premier league in 2024/25 like Paulista.

Game at a time.

3 points target for the first game, then when that has been played 3 points target for the second game and so on.
There is no other sensible way of looking at it, one game at a time.

Good to see a little piece of sanity restored in answer to a well meant question but rather inane batch of predictions.

... too even be able to consider yo-yoing.

Depends on which part of the yo-yo behaviour goes to form.  Even randomness gives the Club a real fifty fifty chance that the yo-yo doesn't go down in 2023 ...
You should try managing your obsession with the concept.

Squads that perform above "the sum of their parts" are built over several seasons. All I am saying is we need to build the next three seasons squads now. We take the money we have just got and invest it over three seasons, that why if we yo-yo again we will have a squad as good as the one Wolves brought up.

Be realistic, FFP rules mean that every team in the Premier league except Everton can outspend us. Whatever we spend the other Premier League teams can spend more. We make good buys early in the window, Crystal Palace will panic and reinforce on deadline day.

Likewise we can outspend every team in next seasons Championship (except the other teams going down). It's a rigged system that we have to play, Crystal Palace can outspend us and we can massively outspend Huddersfield.

FFP isn't FFC's problem - wasting money is and is Khan Jnr's greatest flaw thus far, unfortunately.

Yes indeed, although it's TK's bad deals (fees, wages, length of contracts)which has over the period caused the current need to be prudent.
CAV AND Knocky being prime examples.

In my innocence and naivety I would guess FFP was primarily intended to stop clubs throwing money around like confetti rather than introduce wisdom and intelligence to financial operations that should have no need for further improvements in good bookkeeping.  But where was the professional football intuitive touch when those deals were contemplated?  Parker clearly didn't give a damn because he already had a clear way forward elsewhere and never acted like a true professional anyway ...

What player in their right mind would sign for a club that plans to yo-yo for the next 2/3 seasons so we can build a squad to stay in 3 years time.
