The Inside Out Wingers approach with Duff on the right and Davies on the left was much commented on in Roy's time with us -

But are Inverted Wingers working for Hughes? Davies seems diminished by being on the left as he was when Sanchez or Coleman played him there. Sparky seems to be still making his mind up about our midfielders and I wonder whether we would be better off with Duff and Davies on their natural sides?

I would say the opposite has happened. Sparky has played them on their 'wrong' sides for the last three games now and we have done much better.

I think it is worse playing them on their 'natural sides' as they have no pace and we do not have a target man.

Hughes started the season with them in their natural positions, is it coincidence that better performances by the players and team have come when they playing as inverted wingers.
On a personal level I don't like it, they both come inside and we become quite narrow, my preference is both wide men to be the same footed, that way you have variety, one comes inside and one goes to the byline.

it worked better with Duff & Dempsey, but Clint's got his hands full at the moment,I'm all for anything that helps get us goals at the moment to be honest :clap_hands:

Buy Bentley, play him on the right and keep keep Davies on the left, were he seems to perform better and Bentley will give us natural width.
