Position needed, come the WC break.

Not one for historical sporting 'facts', but here goes: 10 points from those 7 games (first 5 vs teams currently below us) puts us at 21 pnts. The last 10 years in the PL, the 3rd from bottom team had a mean average of 13 pnts.
Would bite your hand off for an 8 point lead at the WC break.....very achievable.

If we can win 5 of our next 11 games that would put us in a very good position on at least 26 points at halfway through the season.

In an ideal world it would be good to be ten points above the drop zone.

Full concentration always has to be on the next game but West Ham away seems really tough and we will do very well to bring home a point.
The following two matches at the Cottage are real six pointers and the Bornmouth game is a must win match.
We are badly missing Mitro, Robinson and Tete and if we are not 100% sure about their fitness this week-end then they should be rested ready for the Bournmouth match.

Yes, and no one would grumble at a top six place but being realistic we have to be satisfied with anything that means there is a gap between us and the bottom three.

The better placed we are come the World Cup will make strengthening the squad with better players easier as no one would want to come to us if they think we are going to be in a relegation battle after the window closes but possibly Europe.

Getting to 20 points by the half way stage of the season is key. If we can get north of 20 points before the World Cup then that would be insanely good

I think this above all else is why we should be focusing on one game at a time but looking to maximise our return from each and every game.  We have the players to do this when they are fit and available but we will also do better than last weekend with the squad replacements as Silva and his team improves them.

Sooner 20pionts on the board the better ,no reason to think by the WC break they won't be but the more pionts the better.
