I agree with this, I just don't think Reed has the range of passing to play further forward

Problem is that Silva seemingly wants his deep lying midfielders to control play supported by a more box to box player who can carry the ball forward. Seri is thriving back the role he played in Nice, but Reed has been struggling to adapt a bit. Still doing well, but he isn't as effective as he was in Parker's system.

Reed is a top player and will be really important for us this season but today wasn't his finest performance by a long stretch. Don't get me wrong he harried and chased and worked his socks off as he always does but his passing, particularly in the first half was far from perfect today.

My thoughts.

Mine too.  I certainly didn't think he "dominated" midfield as Riversider saw it.  To do that his passing needed to have been much better.

you cant help but like him,but he lacks abit of composure and abillity on the ball. I didnt think he was that great yesterday and was poor against Coventry (not worse than anyone else but poor nonetheless). seri is the main man . He dominanted yesterday.

Dominated the middle of the park, they couldn't live with him, we have nobody else who does what he does for the side.
Over a year since this thread was started and sadly Sunday will demonstrate that we still don't have a replacement player that can do what Harrison does,
Will be a massive loss, but it's nice now to know that Harrison is being far more appreciated now than he was a year ago.

Its honestly hilarious reading old comments on the board

Harrison isa player much better suited to playing for us the PL where we have less domination of the ball ,than in the championship where having much. more possession he is expected to do something offensive or creative with it.
Full credit for Marco for playing  Harrison in the box to. box role (as soon as last season ) in preparation lfor his role this year in the PL .some of reeds biggest advocates were also the ones saying that he should have been playing in the deeper midfield role last year.
A great player to have in the side, but not a creative player, and despite his recent addition of goals ,not a strong offensive player either. But he is getting better at that side of the game and his energy and work off the ball is second to none.
