Journalist delivers Rangers Josh Onomah transfer verdict

Dean Jones has delivered his verdict on Rangers making a move for Fulham midfield maestro Josh Onomah in the upcoming January transfer window.

Onomah is out of favour at Craven Cottage and has been a target of Rangers head coach Michael Beale since his time at QPR.

Jones confessed that Rangers might "have an eye" on Onomah and believes the midfielder would flourish under Beale at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.

"I think there are a few clubs that are looking at Josh Onomah, just wondering if he fits in at Fulham," said Jones as quoted by GIVEMESPORT.

"So, I can understand why Rangers might have an eye on him, I think he would do pretty well."

Potential bargain.
With just one year left on his Fulham contract, the maestro could be picked up for an absolute bargain, something that the Rangers board will be licking their lips at.

And Onomah would bring with him to Ibrox a glistening resume and pedigree, he came out of the talent factory at Tottenham and won the U17 World Cup with England.

Fulham faces the real problem of losing Onomah for absolutely nothing which gives Rangers some bargaining power in this potential switch.

The forward-thinking midfielder would slot right into the action at Ibrox and provides secure and dynamic abilities that are needed in the Gers engine room.

This isn't to say Onomah is the complete finished package just yet, but he could finally find his feet at Ibrox, especially under the tutorage of Beale.

This transfer story is definitely one to keep an eye on, it would be hardly surprising if the Light Blues made an attempt for the Fulham midfielder in January.

Rangers "have an eye" on £30k a week Prem star but face competition

Rangers will be signing midfielders in the next two transfer windows, I don't think that is too big an assumption to make given the age and profile of the players we currently have and the style of football that Michael Beale wants his team to play.

There have been a few names linked already but, perhaps, the most exciting is Fulham's Josh Onomah.

The 25-year old has a solid pedigree including winning international honours at youth level with England and coming through Tottenham Hotspur's academy, and with just a year left on his contract at Craven Cottage, he could be picked up for a bargain.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, transfer journalist Dean Jones has backed Ross Wilson's move for Onomah and that it could well be one that sees the out of favour midfielder flourish:

"I think there are a few clubs that are looking at Josh Onomah, just wondering if he fits in at Fulham.

"So, I can understand why Rangers might have an eye on him, I think he would do pretty well."

Jones is right, Onomah is exactly the type of player we should be looking for. Fulham can't ask for an extortionate fee given that he has only played twice this season and because he is approaching the last year of his contract. They have to sell him soon or risk losing him for nothing.

Onomah is also exactly the type of player we need in terms of his skillset too, he is a playmaker who looks forwards when he has the ball rather than choosing the safe option every time.

A reported wage of £30,000 shouldn't put us off either because he would be the sort of player that would be starting most weeks, that salary can be justified for a key contributor, the only question is whether or not we can persuade him to head north if we are competing with clubs in England.

Fulham make public their ticket allocation for St James' Park – Good news for Newcastle United fans

Fulham have released an official announcement on Monday (12 December).

With the West London club making public their ticket allocation for the match at St James' Park on Sunday 15 January 2023.

Fulham revealing that they have a ticket allocation of 1,722.

Fulham official announcement – 12 December 2022:
'Fulham travel north to St. James' Park to take on Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday 15th January, kick-off 2pm.

Adult £30

Seniors (65+) £23

Full Time Studengt £23

Junior (Under 18) £17

Full Allocation: 1,722

Loyalty Points: 5

'Non-Standing Seats' can be purchased over the phone and are allocated in the front rows'

This guarantees there will be a minimum of some one and a half thousand Newcastle United fans inside St James' Park, as compared to Premier League matches where the away club takes the full 3,200+ allocation.

Indeed, considering how few Fulham fans normally travel to Tyneside and this game coming only a few weeks after Christmas and 2pm on Sunday in the middle of January, every chance there could be even more Newcastle fans able to get tickets for this match. The 1,722 tickets that Fulham have taken, will I think be in three blocks, so if they only sell two blocks at a maximum, another 500-600 extra tickets could be made available for Newcastle fans.

Correct me if I'm wrong (it does happen) but when the main bulk of match by match tickets went on sale to Newcastle United season ticket holders and members on Tuesday (6 December), I don't think it included any seats in the areas normally reserved for away fans.

So when there is the smaller additional / final Thursday 20 December sale of Fulham match tickets to the NUFC general public, it should /  could include those 1,500 tickets that Fulham have already declined.

Down below, I have given an update on what the ticket situation is for all up and coming matches that NUFC have released details for, info is via the club's official ticketing site.

AC Milan back in for USMNT star as city rivalry brews

Antonee Robinson played in every minute of the USMNT's World Cup campaign and has recently been linked with a move to Inter Milan. However, after hearing this news, their city rivals AC Milan are now reported interested.

According to The Sun, "AC Milan have reacted to the news that their neighbours (Inter) are keen. And now they are back on Robinson's trail. However, he would be seen as cover with France's Theo Hernandez already in their side. Milan could buy Robinson and loan him out."

Robinson came very close to signing for Milan back in 2020 when he was playing in the EFL Championship for Wigan Athletic. Unfortunately, he had a problem with his medical and the deal fell through on the January transfer deadline day.

The Fulham defender has proved his fitness since the failed medical. In total for the Cottagers, he has played 82 times, scoring three goals with four assists.

Should Antonee Robinson sign with AC Milan?
With Robinson coming so close to signing for Milan, nearly three years ago now, finally joining them would banish some demons of his failed medical. He is a much better player than he was then, having experienced playing in the Premier League and amassing 33 caps for his country.

However, it may put him off that Milan are reportedly only in for him because their rivals want to sign him. This is not the best reason for signing a player.

Also, they would see him as a backup for Hernandez. Robinson should be playing first-team football, which he already does at Fulham.

The possibility of joining Milan and then going out on loan should not be an option, as Robinson is now 25 and should only join a club where he can settle.

There would still be a temptation to join Milan for its history. Just like Inter, Milan's only retired numbers are of defenders. Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi, (numbers 3 and 6) are the two legendary players who have had that honour.

Milan currently has Sergiño Dest at the club, who is on loan from Barcelona. However, Robinson's USMNT teammate has managed just nine appearances so far this season.

Or would Inter be a better option?
Although they do not have a history with Robinson, Inter seem to genuinely be interested in the player, and not just because their rivals want him.

Robinson would be competing for a starting place with Federico Dimarco at Inter, so he would still have the challenge of getting into Simone Inzaghi's team, with Dimarco playing in all 15 of their Serie A games, scoring three goals and creating one assist.

Inter are currently in fifth place in the league, which is lower in the table than Milan, who is second. Both teams are also still in the Champions League.

At Inter he would be used as a wing-back, which Robinson would suit with his pace, while Milan plays with a back four, which is what he is used to at Fulham.

Robinson is known for being a big Star Wars fan, and 'Jedi' would have a tough decision choosing between the blue of Inter or the red of Milan.

Hull City reveal FA Cup ticket prices for clash against Marco Silva's Fulham side

The Tigers are in third round action next month against Marco Silva's Fulham outfit

Hull City have confirmed their ticket prices for next month's FA Cup clash with Premier League side Fulham at the MKM Stadium, as ex-Tigers boss Marco Silva makes just his second return to the club since leaving in 2017.

City fans hoping to see Liam Rosenior's men tackle the Cottagers on January 7 can watch the game for as little as £3 for youngsters, while adult tickets cost just £10 and seniors, juniors, and young adults priced at just £5 in open areas of the ground.

Importantly, however, the game is not included as part of the membership scheme the club currently operates, and all fans who pay monthly for that will need to purchase a match ticket for the 3pm kick-off next month.

Fans will have their current seats reserved until 9am on Wednesday, December 21st by which time the rest of the stadium will be thrown open to general sales, while the club say tickets will not be added to membership cards and will instead be available as a traditional paper ticket or via a mobile device - owing to the Christmas post, the last order date to have tickets posted is January 3.

Fulham have thus far been given an allocation of 2,000 tickets though, under FA Cup rules, that allocation could be increased should demand require it.

Exclusive: QPR's George Thomas issues Brentford, Fulham claim

The absence of west London derbies in 2022/23 has given QPR extra motivation to join Brentford and Fulham in the Premier League, George Thomas has exclusively told Football League World.

With Fulham promoted from the Championship last term and the Bees going up via the play-offs in the year before, the R's will not face their local rivals this term unless they are drawn against them in a later round of the FA Cup.

The west London pair have made strong starts to the season in the top flight so the Hoops' only chance of a guaranteed derby next term could well be securing promotion themselves.

Speaking exclusively to FLW after completing CopyBet's Multi-Sport Challenge, Thomas admitted that the prospect of not facing either Fulham or Brentford this season was extra motivation for the squad.

He explained: "Of course. In the last couple of years, the west London derbies are games that you always get up for. Obviously, you're up for every game but there's a little bit more on those games.

"Not having many this year, it makes you want to get to where they are at the moment and I'm sure with the squad we've got we'll give that a good go."

The R's returned to Championship action after nearly a month on Sunday as they were beaten 3-0 by league leaders Burnley at Loftus Road.

They've now taken just one point from their last six games, including a five-game winless run before the World Cup break, but speaking to FLW last week, Thomas was optimistic that the mid-season pause can be useful for them.

He said: "It's never happened before so it was different. The games were coming thick and fast so a little break was nice.

"It's never happened before. We've had time to practice, we've had two weeks of training, so it's almost like a mini pre-season so we'll see how that fares over the next few weeks."

The R's will hope the appointment of Neil Critchley, who was confirmed as their new head coach after the Burnley game yesterday, can help bring an upturn in fortunes.
