Think we need to keep the pace to counter their attacks. They are bringing all their numbers into our half. We've been able to get on the break multiple times as a result. Just not sure this is the game for Wilson as he's taking a beating, but is also not making key passes where they count. Like the first half chance he's through on goal and he has Raul wide open beside him and passes it 10 yards ahead. I'd like to see Tete in for Wilson to bring in more physicality and defensive prowess while being athletic enough for counters.

Stupid and reckless from Raul but it shouldn't have been a red. Still Raul is an idiot for putting himself in that position.

I just feel sad that when it looks as if we turn a corner e.g. with Jimenez finding his scoring touch, we self destruct by lack of self discipline. Look at Mitro, Chalobah, Vinicius, et al. Always two steps forward , one, sometimes two, steps back.

Still, hope springs eternal, or at least for up to 45 minutes.

Has anyone ever seen a red card for hitting someone with their butt?

No different than a player flying in for a header when one player doesn't get off the ground to me. Those almost never even draw a foul, much less a card.

Very frustrating, with their injuries this game was there for the taking if we had all 11 on the pitch.

I don't buy that about their injuries. They still have a strong team, was always gonna be a struggle for FFC on the road.  Anyway, we've actually had a few chances down the man.  Hoping for a point today.

I wonder how many games RJ will be out?

Before the game they were missing at least 6 starters through injury and suspension, and they've had another two go off early.

They are still a good and well coached team, but the way we have been playing, and how leggy they have looked for the last couple of weeks, this was a real opportunity.
