Al Hilal Ready To Go Back In With Fresh Bid For Fulham Striker

Al Hilal are set to table a second bid for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is keen on the move this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Mitrovic has had his head turned due to interest from Saudi Arabia where Al Hilal are keen to sign him.

He has already agreed personal terms on a three-year deal with Al Hilal and is pushing for the move to the Middle East this summer.

However, Fulham rejected their €30m offer recently and have made it clear that they do not want to sell the forward.

But Al Hilal have received encouragement from the player and are claimed to be ready to put in a second bid.

The Saudi Arabian club are pushing to sign the Serbian forward in the ongoing transfer window.

They are prepared to test Fulham's resolve by offering more money for the 28-year-old striker this summer.

Al Hilal recently signed Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and are now eyeing uniting him with his Serbia team-mate Mitrovic.

It remains to be seen whether Fulham can stick to their stance in the face of another big offer.

Crystal Palace And Fulham Hold Interest In Southampton Man As Chase Heats Up

Crystal Palace and Fulham are both keen on Southampton striker Che Adams, with interest in the player now growing, according to talkSPORT.

Saints boss Russell Martin is shaping his squad for a season of Championship football and he could lose a number of players in the aftermath of relegation.

Proven Premier League hitman Adams is drawing attention with both Crystal Palace and Fulham interested in taking him to the capital.

And it is claimed that though no move for Adams away from St Mary's is advanced, interest in him is growing.

It is suggested that if Southampton do cash in on Adams then they would be likely to be able to bank a fee in the region of £15m.

Crystal Palace are keen to add to their firepower this summer, while Fulham could yet lose the services of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia on his table.

Saints captured Adams from Birmingham City in the summer of 2019 for a sum in the region of £15m.

He regularly chipped in with goals in the Premier League for the south coast club and they may lose his nose for goal this summer.

Nottingham Forest 'confident' of snatching Fulham star after meeting, with major incentive driving deal
Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'confident' that they'll be able to sign Willian over Fulham after 'face-to-face talks' which followed the rejection of a contract from the Cottagers.

Willian's Premier League return last season was something of a surprise. Indeed, the winger had cancelled his contract with Arsenal in August 2021 in order to move to Corinthians, in his native Brazil.

His last season with the Gunners saw him score one Premier League goal and provide five assists in 25 games. That he'd only been there a season before deciding he wanted out did not bode well.

However, he returned to England last season with Fulham, and looked a man reborn. The winger scored five goals and provided six assists in the Premier League as the Cottagers finished 10th.

Yet it seems he doesn't want to continue at Craven Cottage. His initial period at the club was only a year, and his contract ran out this summer.

The Evening Standard reports the Brazilian has rejected a one-year contract to remain with them. That's one reason that Nottingham Forest feel they're in the ascendancy.

The Midlanders are reportedly 'confident' of beating Fulham to the snare. Willian has reportedly been offered 'better terms' by Forest, which 'includes the chance to end his career at Olympiakos', a partner club of theirs.

While an 'improved offer' has also been sent by Fulham, their competitors clearly aren't worried it'll be accepted.

Instead, they seem to be putting their energy into the snare of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Chelsea winger will reportedly 'snub offers' from Saudi Arabia to remain in the Premier League, and it's believed Willian not returning to Fulham could 'give them the edge'.

They're competing with Forest and Crystal Palace for the snare. But if given the chance of all of those clubs, knowing that there's going to be a space for a winger at Fulham if Willian does not return, it wouldn't be a surprise if they were the destination Hudson-Odoi chose.

He'll have big shoes to fill, but will be hopeful that finally having a consistent role at a Premier League side allows him to progress his game and become a star.

LUCA ASHBY-HAMMOND JOINS CRAWLEY
Shot-stopper joins Lindsey's Reds on season-long loan

Crawley Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond on a season-long loan from Premier League side Fulham.

Ashby-Hammond joined Fulham at under-9 level in 2008 and has progressed through the academy ranks at Craven Cottage ever since. At the age of 16, Luca was called up to Fulham's Under-23s side and went on to make eleven appearances. Ashby-Hammond has also represented England several times at youth level.

The young shot-stopper became a regular for Fulham during the 2020/21 season and signed a new professional contract in February 2021, which keeps him at Craven Cottage until at least 2025.

In his two previous loan spells, Ashby-Hammond has represented clubs at National League level. Luca featured for Stockport County during the 2021/22 season and enjoyed a successful loan spell with Aldershot Town last season, where he featured in all 46 league matches for the Shots.

Speaking on the loan move, Manager Scott Lindsey said: "Luca is a goalkeeper who is well thought of at Fulham, so I am really pleased to get that one done. He is going to really push Corey for the number one shirt, which is exactly what we want, as every goalkeeper needs competition."

Luca's loan deal is subject to EFL approval.

Aleksandar Mitrovic: Fulham striker still wants to leave Premier League club for Saudi Arabia as Al Hilal make second bid

Aleksandar Mitrovic was Fulham's key player up front, scoring 14 Premier League goals last season as the Cottagers finished in the top half; the Serbian striker wants to leave the west London club after six years; Al Hilal have already signed Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly

Al Hilal have made a second bid worth close to £30m for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Fulham's position remains unchanged and they have rejected the offer, insisting the Serbia international is not for sale.

Sky Sports News understands Mitrovic has personally contacted Tony Khan to ask him to accept the offer.

The Serbia striker told Khan that he has contributed significantly during his six years at the club and feels the club is getting fair money for him.

Fulham have already rejected a £25.5m bid for Mitrovic from the Saudi club.

Sources close to the player have told Sky Sports News the 28-year-old wants to leave the Premier League side and join the Saudi Pro League.

The Serbia international scored 14 league goals last season to help Fulham finish in the top half of the table.

Mitrovic's goals also played a key role in helping the west London club to return to the top flight from the Championship on two occasions.

The forward joined Fulham, initially on loan in February 2018, before signing permanently for around £25m later that year.

Al Hilal have been one of the busiest Saudi Arabian clubs in this transfer window - and have already claimed one major Premier League coup in Wolves captain Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese midfielder, who was captain at Wolves, completed a £47m move to the Pro League club earlier this summer.

Al Hilal have also signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, while Sky in Italy report that Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is close to a £34.5m move to the same club.

Milikovic-Savic, who is Mitrovic's international team-mate with Serbia, is reportedly set to sign a contract worth over £17m per year.

The other high-profile player Al Hilal have is former Sporting Lisbon and Benfica forward Andre Carillo, who has 92 caps for Peru and spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Watford.

Fulham reject second Al-Hilal offer for Mitrovic
Fulham have turned down a second offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal for their striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to a report from the Athletic this afternoon.

The Whites rebuffed a £25.5m bid from Al-Hilal for the Serbian international on Wednesday and have rejected an improved offer – believed to be worth around £35m – for the 28 year-old. Sky Sports News are now reporting that Al-Hilal's bid was worth less than £30m. The Cottagers' continued position is that Mitrovic is not for sale but the Premier League side are braced for more approaches from the Public Investment Fund-backed outift.

Mitrovic, who has scored 111 goals in 204 games since moving to west London initially on loan in January 2018, is under contract at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2026.

Fulham 'hopeful' of beating Liverpool and Arsenal to signing as Reds 'set to receive' £40m midfielder offer

The latest Liverpool transfer news as Jurgen Klopp's side continue to build towards their 2023/24 Premier League season opener against Chelsea.

The new Premier League season kicks off in under a month meaning clubs still have plenty of time remaining in the summer transfer window to bolster their squads before returning to competitive action.

Liverpool have already been busy this summer and could still get a few more deals completed, although there is also plenty of talk with regards to players leaving Anfield in the coming weeks. Club captain Jordan Henderson is currently being linked with a surprise move to Saudi Arabia and it now looks like another Reds midfielder could be in line to join him.

Elsewhere, a Brazilian international who has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal could indeed be headed to England but it is in fact Fulham who are 'hopeful' of securing a deal. Here are the latest Liverpool transfer news headlines on Friday, July 14:

Fulham 'hopeful' of beating Liverpool and Arsenal to signing
Per a report from 90min, Fulham are hopeful of beating some of Europe's biggest clubs to a deal for Brazil international midfielder Andre Trindade. Liverpool are also said to have held an interest in the 21-year old who currently plays for Fluminense.

The Cottagers are said to have targeted Trindade since January and were close to reaching an agreement over a £20 million transfer fee, which is now believed to have increased to £25 million. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are all also credited with an interest in the Brazilian as are Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Andre offered to Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona; Fulham plot move
Fulham are looking to win the race for the services of Andre Trindade, who has been offered to Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona.

According to 90min, Fulham are keen on acquiring the services of Andre Trindade. The 21-year-old has been in exceptional form over the past 12 months, and he is on the radar of multiple top clubs from across. While the Cottagers are confident about securing his services, they could face serious competition from some of the biggest clubs in Europe. His price tag is £25 million.

Andre Trindade has come up the ranks to the first team of Fluminense. The 21-year-old has made a total of 141 appearances and has been involved in six goals. He has gone from strength to strength over the last few years and has been rewarded with his debut for the national team.

The Brazil international has featured in 33 matches in the ongoing season and racked up over 2,800 minutes. The Fluminense midfielder has been a rock in front of the defence, and his impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention.

While his contract with the club runs until the end of 2026, the 21-year-old could be on the move in the ongoing transfer window. His representative has offered the Brazilian sensation to Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona.

Arsenal have been building a team for the future, and their focus is on signing young payers with huge potential. Andre seems to fit the bill. As far as Liverpool are concerned, they are looking to complete a midfield overhaul.

The Merseyside club have already signed an attack-minded midfielder. Now, they want to add someone who can cover for Fabinho and the 21-year-old could surely be a great addition. Meanwhile, Barcelona are always on the lookout for young talented players with potential, and they could surely push for Andre given his impressive rise over the past 12 months.

While Andre's representatives have offered him to the European elites, Fulham are still confident about striking a deal for his services. They were keen on signing him back in January and were very close to acquiring his services for less than £20 million.

They failed to get it over the line back then but are optimistic about getting it over the line now. But, this time the fee will be around £25 million as he has made a lot of progress over the last six months and has even represented the Brazilian national team.

The 22-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Premier League side but has played in the EFL Trophy.

Ashby-Hammond spent last season on loan with Aldershot Town, making 45 appearances in the National League for the Shots.

"Luca is a goalkeeper who is well thought of at Fulham," Reds boss Scott Lindsey told the club website.

"He is going to really push Corey (Addai) for the number one shirt, which is exactly what we want."

He becomes Crawley's fifth signing of the summer transfer window.

Bowat heads to Hartberg on loan
Young Fulham centre back Ibane Bowat has signed for Austrian side TSV Hartberg on loan after agreeing a new two-year contract with the Cottagers.

The Scottish under-21 international made sixteen senior appearances whilst on loan at Dutch outfit FC Den Bosch last season and is looking forward to continuing his development in Austria. Bowat, who signed for Fulham six years ago, has become an increasingly key part of Fulham's academy set-up helping Steve Wigley's side return to the top tier at under-21 level with a series of composed displays.

Bowat, who will remain at Craven Cottage until at least 2025 with the Whites holding a twelve-month extension option, told Fulham's official website:

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract and extend my time with Fulham. I feel I'm developing well as a footballer, and the staff in the academy and first team have been excellent with me. Last season was a big step for me going to the Netherlands on loan and getting experience playing men's football, so it was important I continue to play senior football this season.

They have a great setup, and playing under Markus Schopp, along with his coaching staff, was very appealing to me, so I'm keen to get started and taking part in their pre-season games."

Marco Silva: Fulham manager stalls on signing new contract

Marco Silva has been offered a new Fulham contract; Portuguese manager has 12 months remaining on his current deal at Craven Cottage; Silva has turned down the chance to manage in Saudi Arabia; he has also turned down offers to manage other Premier League clubs

Marco Silva has been offered a new Fulham contract but he would find it difficult to sign it as things stand.

Fulham finished 10th in the Premier League last season under Silva.

He has only 12 months left on his present deal and Fulham want to reward him with a new contract.

Silva remains ambitious about Fulham's prospects but he is not close to signing the new deal.

He showed his commitment to the club earlier this summer by turning down a chance to manage in Saudi Arabia.

The offer was worth £35m over two years.

He has also turned down offers to manage other Premier League clubs.

'He was expecting more transfers'
Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol:

"Like all top managers Marco Silva has very high standards. He wants the very best for his club.

"Perhaps it'd be fair to say he was expecting more progress with recruitment at this stage of the summer as far as Fulham are concerned.

"But there are two sides to every story.

"I'm sure Fulham would point to the transfer window being open for another six weeks or so. There is plenty of work going on behind the scenes.

"We've seen Fulham linked to moves for Callum Hudson-Odoi. They are trying to sign Willian again as well.

"But Marco Silva is a very successful manager. He's had a very successful spell so far at Fulham. He is saying he wants to kick on again and build on the success of last season.

"At the moment, he's not signing that new contract that is being put in front of him."

West Ham United update emerges on quest to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha

West Ham are reportedly fearing being priced out of the deal to secure the services of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha this summer.

According to the Sun [14 July], there is genuine interest in signing the Portugal international, 28, but he may be too expensive for the Hammers.

It will take any buying club a fee of £50million to sign him this summer, according to a report by the Guardian.

Pay it up
Fulham will negotiate his price aggressively, just like the Hammers did with Rice, but they might finally have to give in if the player wants to leave.

European football will definitely be a big lure and also he'll be part of a newly-built squad that could cater to his strengths.

Although the Portugal international may not be able to accomplish everything Rice can, he excels excels at some of what both can do.

David Moyes seems to have made the right choice in targeting the 28-year-old given his propensity for playing on the counter attack.

He's Fulham's biggest asset so this deal will take some time to do but if there's an agreement on personal terms, the rest is just down to the clubs playing hardball.

Hopefully, along with Palhinha, the Hammers look to bring in Edson Alvarez as well to the London Stadium.

Silva 'not close' to signing new Fulham deal
Marco Silva is stalling over signing a proposed new contract with Fulham, according to the Athletic.

The Whites were confident that the Portuguese head coach would commit his long-term future to the club after turning down interest from Al-Hilal earlier this summer but Silva is said to be disappointed by Fulham's slow progress in the transfer market. Silva believes he has demonstrated his loyalty to the Cottagers by firmly rebuffing lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia but has been dismayed by the fact that the Fulham hierarchy have failed to make concrete moves to strengthen the squad that finished tenth on their return to the top flight.

Silva, who is now in the last twelve months of his current deal at Craven Cottage having returned Fulham to the Premier League at the first time of asking after succeeding Scott Parker, also rejected advances from other Premier League clubs because he is excited by Fulham's potential after an excellent campaign last term. But the Whites' summer has so far been dominated by attempts to retain their key players rather than supplement the squad that made a mockery of the predictions of a season of struggle this time last year.

Fulham are determined to keep hold of Joao Palhinha and Aleksandar Mitrovic, who have been both been linked with moves away from the club over the past month, and successfully secured Antonee Robinson to a five-year contract recently. They know that high-profile exits would see Silva consider his position – and Silva is believed to be reluctant to sign a new deal himself without concrete action from the club.

Man Utd, Chelsea to miss out as dominant Prem star reaches 'agreement' over shock transfer, with second bid imminent

Aleksandar Mitrovic will be the subject of a second offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, and the striker could swap Fulham for the Middle East following links with both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Mitrovic made a big impact in the Premier League last season, scoring 14 goals in 24 games to help Fulham achieve a 10th-placed finish. Mitrovic was given an eight-match ban in April for pushing referee Chris Kavanagh in an FA Cup game against Man Utd, and this prevented him from getting close to the 20-goal mark.

The 28-year-old's great form resulted in brief links with Man Utd and Chelsea, as both teams hunt for a new centre-forward. Man Utd need to replace Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial, while Chelsea must find a replacement for Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Romelu Lukaku also set to leave.

Earlier this year, Mitrovic was urged to sign for Chelsea over Man Utd as he was told he could thrive thanks to accurate crosses from Blues wing-backs Ben Chilwell and Reece James.

In March, the Daily Star explained how Mitrovic's interaction with Kavanagh meant Man Utd were no longer considering a swoop for him. Instead, the Serbia international may now end up in the Saudi Pro League.

On Wednesday, it emerged that Al Hilal had begun targeting Mitrovic after being rejected by Lukaku, who hopes to stay in Europe. Al Hilal opened the bidding for Mitrovic at £25.5m, but this was rejected by Fulham.

Fabrizio Romano predicted there to be 'more talks' between the two sides, while Sky Sports suggested Mitrovic actually wants to leave the Prem and make the move.

CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has now provided an update on the situation. Writing on Twitter, he has revealed that Al Hilal will soon 'place a second bid' for Mitrovic. They have been given encouragement as the goalscorer is 'keen on the move' and has reached an agreement with Al Hilal. Should Fulham give his exit the green light, then he will pen a three-year deal with Al Hilal.

Fulham ace could head to Al Hilal
Jacobs added that Fulham 'do not want to sell' their talisman. However, Al Hilal – who are managed by former Benfica and Sporting boss Jorge Jesus – will 'test that resolve' with an improved bid.

Romano has picked up the news and added that Mitrovic is 'the top target' for Jesus' side.

As Mitrovic is 28 years old, it would be a shame if he made the move this summer. He has still has several years left at the top level, and his numbers from the most recent season show he can shine in the Prem. But it seems Mitrovic is thinking about the financial benefits. By signing for Al Hilal, he could secure his family's financial status for years to come.

Al Hilal would actually be creating quite a strong squad if they captured Mitrovic from Fulham. They have improved their defence by landing Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea. And in midfield, they can now rely on Ruben Neves and Mitrovic's Serbia team-mate Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Mitrovic's Cottagers boss Marco Silva has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but he has rejected that offer to stay in England.

Marco Silva 'is stalling over a new contract at Fulham', with just 12 months remaining on the Portuguese manager's current deal at Craven Cottage, amid offers from rival clubs

Talks about extending Marco Silva's reign at Fulham have reportedly stalled
The manager has just 12 months left on his current deal at Craven Cottage
Fulham impressed on their way to a top-half finish in the Premier League

Marco Silva is reportedly stalling over a new contract at Fulham.

The Portuguese manager has 12 months left on his current deal at Craven Cottage, and has already turned down offers from the Premier League and Saudi Pro League.

However, while the Cottagers have tabled a new contract with Silva, he is reportedly dithering over signing it, despite Fulham's impressive run to a top-half finish last season.

Sky Sports report that the 46-year-old manager is not close to confirming a new deal, despite remaining ambitious about Fulham's ongoing prospects.

They believe that Silva is frustrated by Fulham's lack of action in the transfer market - although there are still six weeks available to buy players for the coming campaign.

Silva started his work at Fulham in July 2021, seeing them promoted from the Championship in his first season, and then finish 10th in the Premier League during the 2022-23 campaign.

The former Hull City, Watford and Everton boss has been in high demand, with Premier League rivals eyeing him as a potential option on their touchline.

Saudi clubs also considering lucrative financial offers to tempt him to the Middle East, with Silva offered £35m across two years to manage one team.

Fulham begin the forthcoming Premier League season away to Everton, ahead of London derbies against Brentford and Arsenal.

Manchester United REJECT Galatasaray offer for Fred... with Fulham and clubs in Saudi Arabia still interested in midfielder

Galatasaray have seen a bid rejected for Manchester United midfielder Fred
There is interest in Fred from Marco Silva's Fulham and clubs in Saudi Arabia
Fred has recently switched his agency as he seeks a permanent transfer away

Manchester United have turned down an offer from Galatasaray for midfielder Fred who remains a target for Fulham and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford this summer following the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea.

And now, Erik ten Hag's side have turned down a bid from Turkish side Galatasaray for the midfielder.

While it is unclear as to whether they will return with an improved offer, Fred is also wanted by Premier League side Fulham as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Marco Silva is believed to be a big fan of the midfielder and could look to bring him to Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers could be set to lose star Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Arabia as it has been reported that they have already turned down a bid from Al Hilal for the forward.

If a move goes through, he could be joined by Fred in Saudi Arabia as there is interest in the midfielder.

He has recently changed his agency as he seeks an exit from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Fred is entering the final year of his deal and Man United reportedly have no intentions of extending his stay.

Fulham were seen as the most likely to snap him up but needed to meet United's £20million valuation of the player first.

Galatasaray are the first side to table an official bid for Fred.

Fulham in Limbo: Marco Silva's Contract Renewal Dilemma

Marco Silva's Fulham Conundrum: A Tug-of-War Between Commitment and Ambition

Fulham, a name synonymous with fortitude, finds itself embroiled in an escalating tension. The man at the eye of this storm is Marco Silva, the skilled Portuguese who has moulded Fulham into a formidable Premier League force. As uncertainty clouds the renewal of his contract, Fulham faces a predicament that could shape their future fortunes.

An Impressive Run, Yet an Uncertain Future
Just a year remains of Marco Silva's tenure at Craven Cottage, sparking intense speculation over his future with Fulham. Despite achieving a top-half Premier League finish, a praiseworthy feat that left spectators and analysts alike tipping their hats to Silva, the negotiation table still remains cold.

"'Is Marco Silva stalling over a new contract at Fulham?' is the question resonating around the footballing world," reports the Daily Mail, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Cottagers.

High Demand, Higher Expectations
Silva's journey, from guiding Fulham's elevation from the Championship in his debut season, to securing a commendable 10th place in the Premier League in 2022-23, has placed him in the crosshairs of numerous football clubs. His in-demand profile has piqued the interest of not only Premier League rivals but also Saudi Pro League teams, presenting offers that would test the resolve of any individual.

Undeniably, Silva is a hot property. One Saudi club allegedly attempted to lure him with a staggering £35m two-year deal. Such lucrative propositions make for a fascinating subplot to Silva's ongoing contract saga at Fulham.

Fulham's Transfer Market Dilemma
Sky Sports paints a picture of an ambitious Silva, far from being satisfied with the status quo. His frustration is reportedly fuelled by Fulham's restrained activity in the transfer market, adding to the speculations that have given the fans sleepless nights.

However, with six weeks left in the transfer window, there's ample opportunity for Fulham to turn the tide, reassuring Silva of their commitment to their shared ambition.

A Test of Mettle Ahead
As Fulham prepares to kickstart the forthcoming Premier League season away to Everton, followed by intense London derbies against Brentford and Arsenal, all eyes will be on Silva and his charges.

Whether the unfolding drama of Silva's contract renewal will inspire or inhibit Fulham's performance on the pitch is a story that's waiting to unfold. Regardless of the outcome, Silva's contribution to Fulham's recent history remains firmly etched, a testament to his exceptional ability to lead and inspire. The question now is, will this tale see a renewed chapter at Craven Cottage or will it end in a thrilling cliffhanger? The final call lies with Marco Silva.

Fulham and Crystal Palace inquire about Southampton's Che Adams, with the Scotland striker keen to stay in the Premier League ahead of Euro 2024

Fulham and Crystal Palace have inquired about Southampton's Che Adams
The Scotland striker is expected to leave St. Mary's after their relegation
He is keen on remaining in the Premier League ahead of next year's Euro 2024

Fulham and Crystal Palace have asked about Southampton striker Che Adams, 27.

The Saints are regrouping under Russell Martin as they look to bounce straight back up from the Championship - but expect to lose more players after relegation.

If Southampton sell Adams to one of the interested London clubs, they expect to make around £15m for him - and the 27-year-old is thought to be 'keen' on remaining in the Premier League to boost his chances of Euro 2024.

Adams made his Scotland debut in 2021, and featured in the country's group stage games at the Euro 2020 tournament that summer.

The striker has one year left on his contract at St Mary's - and could be a timely addition to the Premier League squads of either the Cottagers or the Eagles.

Fulham may need a replacement striker to fill the whole left by Aleksandar Mitrovic, as they fend off offers from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Crystal Palace will also look to bolster their frontline for the new season under Roy Hodgson, who has confirmed he will remain in charge for the forthcoming campaign.

The Eagles scored just 40 Premier League goals in their 38 fixtures last season, and will require more goalscorers if they want to avoid the risk of relegation.

In May, Mail Sport reported on claims that Nottingham Forest were eyeing up Adams as an addition to their side as they prepare for another Premier League season.

Adams scored 10 goals and registered three assists in 35 Southampton appearances last season.

Martin's Southampton side begin their Championship challenge away to Sheffield Wednesday on August 4, before a League Cup trip to Gillingham four days later.

Che Adams no thank you. I distinctly remember the open goal miss in their FA cup match in January.

Bassey the warrior

These rumours are pretty much worthless as they're largely generated from hearsay and then recycled for weeks or months on end. Take Liverpool as an example, they were linked to Bellingham for 12 plus months but never so much as put a bid in, but they then signed Szoboszlai completely out of the blue, with no rumours having been run prior to 24 hours before he signed.

The vast bulk of websites that carry these stories have no sources or insights at all and I won't waste my time on them. If a story comes up on The Guardian, The Times or The Athletic, then it's more credible.
