As I get older, well who gets younger?, as the media do like to avoid mentioning us, I do like to grab hold of any use of the F word. So, on today's Countdown the new champion is from....Fulham.

Thank you and good night

Lots of tv writers supported us so the F word was thrown into everything from Budgie to Citizen Smith to Minder etc. Having Jimmy Hill on the tv helped keep us around in the public eye.

The Al Fayed took over and we suddenly become no longer a nice joke but something worth laughing at and ridiculing. Even the televised Europa finals were treated as a quick annoyance by some.

Now we are ignored because we have spoilt our image and become quite good and not just a joke anymore.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

As far as the Press are concerned our image now is of players who are thugs on the pitch and  supporters who are accused of racist chants (even if that actually was in the singular).

Spitting feathers a couple of days ago over NOT hearing the F word.
Randomly came across a TV programme about Englands most expensive properties, it featured a one bedroom flat in Mayfair which was purchased by the owner of Brighton FC.
"I stay here when we play all the big London teams::
Chelsea
Tottenham
Arsenal
Brentford
West Ham"

No mention of the oldest professional team in London.
Don't think he has forgiven us for that late winner last season
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.
