He's really not that bad at all, just never seems to get a proper run in the team.

As you say, Vini has contributed goals and assists at a pretty good lick throughout his career in Europe. It's gone on too long and been too consistent to be a fluke. Per minute in the English Prem he actually outstrips Jiminez (as he did at Benfica). Of course there's more to it than that -- he's a clearly limited all-round contributor, which accounts for his more restricted playing time. Still, anyone worried he'd dry up individually if played more often is probably worried about the wrong thing.
