'Just been handed': Journalist has just been told Fulham have made an offer for £30m Man Utd defender
Fulham need to do so much work on transfer deadline day.

Joao Palhinha looks like he may be on his way out of the club, Aleksandar Mitrovic hasn't been replaced, they need depth on the wings, and they need a new left-back.

Tosin Adarabioyo's future is also uncertain, and Fulham may need a new centre-half if the 25-year-old leaves.

Fulham are apparently fishing in that pond now. According to Charlotte Daly, speaking on The Mail's Transfer Deadline livestream, the Whites have now made an offer for Manchester United's Eric Bailly.

Fulham are apparently prepared to offer Bailly a two-year deal, but they want him to join on a free transfer.

Bailly offer made
Daly shared what she's heard about the £30m defender.

"I've just been handed two pieces of news so I will just run through those. Fulham have made an offer to take Manchester United defender Eric Bailly on a two-year deal, but they want him to leave on a free transfer," Daly said.

Interesting
This is a very interesting move from Fulham.

Bailly would probably be coming in as a fourth or fifth choice centre-half, and in that role, he could do quite well.

Of course, his injury record is absolutely terrible, but when you're only relying on him as a secondary rotation option, that doesn't matter too much.

Bailly does have plenty of talent, and at the age of just 29, he may still have a few miles in the tank.

This could be a decent addition for the Whites.

Jedi: Beauty Of The Prem

Antonee Robinson wants Fulham to take inspiration from our performance at Arsenal when we face treble winners Manchester City on Saturday.

"Looking back to the Arsenal game, it just shows our resilience, going down to 10 men and still being able to scrape a goal back and get something from the game against a really good side away from home," Jedi said.

"That's the beauty of the Premier League. We turn up to try and win games, but we do genuinely believe we can go anywhere and get a result, so it's no different on Saturday.

"We'll turn up to City with our best gameplan and our best attitude to try and get something out of it."

Our trip to the Etihad is one of a number of tricky fixtures the Whites have had to navigate in the first part of the season, but Robinson is keen to embrace the challenge.

"It's very tough," he said of our next opponents. "The fixtures come out and you see you've got Arsenal, City back-to-back, it's not easy.

"And then you throw Tottenham in the mix just to add a bit of flavour to it! But the reason we all love playing in the Premier League is because we get to play against the best teams.

"When we turn up, we've no need for any more motivation, there's no need to be any more fired up.

"Our last two games against City, our last one at home especially, we performed very well against them and gave them a really tough time, so we'll be looking to repeat that.

"We've got an opportunity to try and carry our form on, and we'll go into the City game full of positivity."

Fulham: Marco Silva now facing another 'massive blow' at Craven Cottage
Fulham boss Marco Silva is set to see a key man walk away from the west Londoners just hours before the transfer deadline

Fulham boss Marco Silva is set to suffer a 'massive blow' as Craven Cottage fans' favourite Joao Palhinha is undergoing a medical ahead of a switch to Bayern Munich after a significant development, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT.

Having already pocketed £46million from the sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Pro League big-spenders Al-Hilal last month, the Cottagers are preparing to allow another key man to embark on a fresh challenge.

Fulham transfer news - Joao Palhinha
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern have reached an agreement with Fulham over the Deadline Day signing of Palhinha.

The Italian journalist suggests the Portugal international, who scored during the Cottagers' comeback draw against Arsenal last weekend, is already in Bavaria for medical tests and will pen a five-year contract after his current employers have drafted in a replacement.

It is understood that Fulham are in line to secure £55million for Palhinha's services, having rejected the German giants' initial £47million proposal.

The defensive midfielder was coveted by Premier League rivals West Ham United earlier this summer, but last season's Europa Conference League winners failed with a £45million offer.

Palhinha appears to have already made his final appearance in a Fulham shirt despite only sealing a £20million move from Sporting last year.

What has Dean Jones said about Palhinha?
Jones believes Palhinha's impending exit will come as a bigger blow to Fulham than allowing frontman Mitrovic to profit from the riches on offer in Saudi Arabia.

The respected journalist is aware that the Cottagers have decided against following through with their initial demands for £80million, but he has warned that the 28-year-old needs to sign on the dotted line at the Allianz Arena by 5pm.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "Joao Palhinha is getting the OK to go ahead with his Bayern medical and it's a massive blow to Fulham as they now accept this summer will result in them losing their best two players.

"The Mitrovic loss was big, but this one is possibly even more significant given the timing of it. Fulham set out with messages that he would cost £80million earlier in the summer, but they have struggled to follow through with that when a big club has genuinely come to the table.

"The deal needs to be tied up by 5pm in line with the German deadline."

What next for Fulham?
Reliable reporter Jones recently told GIVEMESPORT that Fulham have identified Wilfred Ndidi, Ibrahim Sangare and Monaco's Youssouf Fofana as potential replacements for Palhinha.

The transfer insider suggests the trio are also on Nottingham Forest's radar ahead of the summer window slamming shut, meaning Silva is not only in a race against time.

Ndidi already has bags of Premier League experience, having made 192 appearances in the competition while on Leicester City's books.

Fulham could pounce for the Nigeria international as he has entered the final 12 months of his £75,000-per-week contract at the King Power Stadium, while a move to Craven Cottage would offer an immediate route back into the top flight following the Foxes' relegation last season.

But the west Londoners appear to be playing catch-up for PSV Eindhoven's Sangare as Forest have already agreed a £30million-plus deal.

Fulham fail in late approach for Sasa Kalajdzic as Wolves stand firm

Fulham failed with a late move for Wolves striker Sasa Kalajdzic.

Standard Sport understands Fulham and AC Milan and others enquired about 26-year-old's availability in the final two weeks of the window, but Wolves insist he is not for sale as they see him as their main striker for the season.

Wolves signed Kalajdzic from Stuttgart last summer in a deal worth around £15million only to see him suffer an ACL injury on his debut last season, limiting his involvement in his first campaign in England to just a single appearance.

Fulham have considered a number of offers as replacements for Aleksandar Mitrovic, since selling the Serbian all-time leading scorer to Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia for £46m.

They did spend £5m to bring Raul Jimenez in from Kalajdzic's current employers, and Wolves were unwilling to sell both strikers to the same Premier League rival.

Fulham had hoped to spend the final week of the transfer window bolstering several positions including centre-forward but have instead been preoccupied with negotiations over Joao Palhinha's now likely exit for Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese international arrived in Munich on Friday afternoon as negotiations between Bayern and Fulham continued.

In profile: Alex Iwobi

Jack Stroudley looks at our first (of hopefully many) deadline signings.

Transfer deadline day to Tony Khan is what Christmas is to Michael Buble, he comes out of hibernation to try and do some wheeler-dealing and with Palhinha to Bayern Munich looking likely, he's certainly got his work cut out. The first name through the door looks to be Alex Iwobi from Everton for a reported fee of £22m + add-ons. We know that we're in desperate need of bodies in multiple positions, but is Iwobi the right fit or a panic buy?

The fact file
Alex Iwobi started his youth career at Arsenal back in 2004 and rose through the ranks before making his first team debut for the club in 2015 during a 3-0 League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. Over the course of his four-season spell at Arsenal he was a pivotal member of the club making 149 appearances and during that time he scored 15 goals in all competitions.

The Nigerian international's lengthy spell at the club caught the attention of Everton who signed him for £28m back in 2019. Iwobi started his time at Everton predominately on the left looking to cut inside and score chances. He struggled to become a clinical threat for the Toffees and was eventually moved into central midfield where he'd become more of a creator from deep. Iwobi played under Marco Silva at Everton and during his time on Merseyside he has featured 140 times scoring nine goals.

A deeper dive
As mentioned, Iwobi is someone who can play at either left-wing or in central midfield so is someone that Silva will have drawn his attention to due to his ability to be versatile. Iwobi's best position seems to be in central midfield due to his ability to carry the ball. The 27-year-old averages 2.7 progressive carries per 90 (in the top 11% for midfielders) as well as 1.55 successful take-ons (top 9%) and 3.46 shot-creating actions (top 16%). All of these stats translate into assists with Iwobi averaging 0.18 (top 15%).

Going off of this, Iwobi is likely to be fielded in the number '8' role and may drift forward into the '10' when Pereira is unavailable and compared to the likes of Reed and Lukic is slightly more advanced with Reed only averaging 0.94 progressive carries and Lukic 1.72 compared to Iwobi's 2.7. On the flip side, Reed and Lukic provide more defensive stability so if Iwobi is to sign, who starts in midfield (alongside hopefully a Palhinha replacement) will dependant on the strengths of the opposition.

The final verdict
I'm really struggling to get excited about this, £22m for a player with one-year left on his contract who hasn't really worked out his best position is bizarre to me. Marco Silva likes a versatile player but we could've signed Hudson-Odoi for £5m and Gustavo Hamer for £15m who are both better players and still had some money left over! Iwobi knows the Premier League and at 27 he is coming into his peak years and while I hope he proves me wrong; this feels like a massive panic buy.

Chelsea handed huge Conor Gallagher transfer boost as Tottenham star rejects Fulham move

Tottenham are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher before the summer transfer window closes this evening

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has attracted strong interest from Tottenham before the summer transfer window closes tonight. The England international is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Spurs are looking to bolster Ange Postecoglou's squad with a new midfield signing and Gallagher fits the player profile they are looking to sign. football.london understands the Blues are open to offers of around £45million for the 23-year-old.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League meeting with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino said: "We are so happy with him [Gallagher]. We hope he stays."

Spurs are also looking to make room in Postecoglou's squad for new arrivals with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg linked with an exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, the Danish midfielder has rejected a move to Fulham today after a £25million bid from the Cottagers, according to the Daily Mail.

Hojbjerg has also had offers from Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray but it remains to be seen if he will leave before the deadline passes. Atletico want to sign Hojbjerg on loan with an option to buy but Tottenham would prefer a permanent deal.

The 28-year-old's decision to reject a move to Fulham could now impact Spurs' pursuit of Gallagher. Reports today have claimed that Spurs are £10million short of reaching Chelsea's asking price to let the England international leave the club with negotiations continuing.

Following the Carabao Cup win against Wimbledon earlier this week - in which Gallagher was named captain for the game - the 23-year-old spoke out on his future. "It was a great moment tonight [captaining the team] and hopefully many more," he said glowing when speaking to reporters after the midweek win.

"Everyone's playing well, obviously a lot of top midfielders [have joined the club]. But I'm just playing with quite a lot of confidence at the minute, I feel fit and strong."

Gallagher has played in every fixture for the Blues so far this season and has impressed Pochettino since the Argentine arrived earlier this summer. It remains to be seen whether Spurs can agree a deal to sign the 23-year-old but it may depend on Hojbjerg's future at the club.

Atletico Madrid In With Offer For Fulham Target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Atletico Madrid have gone in to Tottenham Hotspur with an initial loan offer for Fulham target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, which contains an obligation to buy, according to the Daily Mail.

Fulham have been trying to sign Hojbjerg from Tottenham, but are encountering difficulty when it comes to convincing the player of the move.

Now the Cottagers' task has become even more difficult as Atletico Madrid are in for Hojbjerg.

The Spanish giants have made Tottenham the offer of a loan, which includes an obligation to buy.

What level the obligation is set at is unclear, but Hojbjerg could prefer a move to Spain before the transfer window shuts.

Tottenham are prepared to let the Dane leave as they continue their rebuild under Ange Postecoglou.

The clock is ticking down on the transfer window though and Atletico Madrid will want any deal agreed quickly.

They would have to agree terms with Hojbjerg and also put him through his medical paces.

Fulham 'not giving up' on signing £15m star at Craven Cottage
Fulham are keen to snare the midfield as Joao Palhinha seems poised to join Bayern Munich

Fulham are eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as a direct Joao Palhinha replacement, though transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed a potential stumbling block in their pursuit, while speaking to GIVEMESPORT.

Marco Silva's side have endured a mix bag of results since the new campaign got underway and would certainly benefit from the Dane's experience at the top level.

Fulham transfer news – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Unfortunately for the Craven Cottage faithful, Palhinha's move to Bayern Munich has been taken up a notch as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that the perennial Bundesliga winners have reached an agreement with his current employers over a deal, which will be green-lit once a replacement is sorted.

The Portugal international's departure will be a kick in the teeth considering how important he was to their top-half domestic finish last time out and so signing someone of Hojbjerg's stature will be high on Silva's agenda.

However, the Fulham boss may be dealt another hammer blow in the midfielder woes as MailOnline have revealed that Hojbjerg, who joined his current employers for £15m from Southampton back in the summer of 2020, has turned down a move to Craven Cottage after a fee of £25m was tabled for the 28-year-old.

Whether the club will return to the drawing board to up their offer remains to be seen, while transfer insider Jones has now told GIVEMESPORT that Fulham's pursual will be hard to finalise.

What did Dean Jones say about Fulham and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg?
Jones has revealed that Fulham may struggle in their pursuit of the midfield gem given he has piqued interest from La Liga heavyweights Atlético Madrid, though he understands Silva will refuse to give up.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: "Fulham's bid for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been difficult because the player knew he had better options elsewhere in Europe in terms of keeping his standard at a very top level. Fulham refuse to completely give up, but Atlético Madrid were offered him and have been in contact over the terms they need to agree to."

What else is happening at Fulham on deadline day?
In terms of further midfield outgoings, Harrison Reed has been the subject of Premier League interest. However, to the delight of Fulham fans and players alike, Romano recently claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers have had an offer, worth £4m, turned down by the capital club.

As they plan for their post-Palhinha era, Jones himself recently told GIVEMESPORT that Wilfried Ndidi, Ibrahim Sangare and Youssouf Fofana, who boast a combined £73m per Transfermarkt, are, alongside Tottenham's Hojbjerg, being considered as worthy successors. However, he does worry that interest from fellow Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest could hinder any deal from materialising.

João Palhinha undergoing medical ahead of Bayern Munich move
João Palhinha has arrived for his medical in Germany ahead of his transfer to Bayern Munich.

Bayern have agreed a fee with Fulham for the midfielder, who will cost around €65m.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the contract will be signed until 2028 and all the documents are ready however Bayern are still awaiting confirmation from Fulham to purchase him, due to them looking for his replacement.

At the moment, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is Fulham's number one target to replace Palhinha although reports suggest that he has turned down a move to the London side but talks still remain open.

Alex Iwobi looks set to sign from Everton for a fee in the region of £22m however Marco Silva would certainly like one more midfielder if the Portuguese international is to leave.

Everything is nearing completion on Bayern Munich's side of the deal, but they now must wait patiently for Fulham to find their new defensive midfielder.

The deal is not done yet with less than two hours left until the Bundesliga transfer window closes.

Huge Fulham deal now off as transfer deadline passes – Unbelievable turn of events
In what is a quite astonishing turn of events, the transfer taking João Palhinha from Fulham to Bayern Munich has now collapsed.

This is according to Florian Plettenberg for Sky Germany, who took to Twitter to reveal the news about the failed deal.

With the Bundesliga's transfer deadline being at 6pm local time, there was limited time for the transfer to go through in the first place, and it was reported not too long ago that despite the player having already travelled to Munich, both he and the Bavarians were waiting for the green light from Fulham.

Why that was wasn't explained, but the Craven Cottage side were clearly biding their time for some reason, and now the chance for a deal has collapsed.

This will come as a huge blow for Palhinha, who was desperate to make the step up from Fulham to Bayern Munich, and unless something late happens in the last few hours of the transfer window elsewhere in Europe, he will have to return to London.

What comes next is a mystery, but there is a scenario where he now has to play for the Craven Cottage side until at least January, or sit out the first half of the season entirely if he doesn't want to feature.

Joao Palhinha's Proposed Move To Bayern Munich Fails
Bayern Munich have failed to get the deal to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha over the line in time with the window in Germany shut, according to German daily TZ.

The midfielder's move to Bayern Munich was on track earlier today when he reached Germany to complete the transfer.

He passed a medical and personal terms were in place for him to sign a long-term contract with the Bavarians.

Bayern Munich also had a big-money deal in place with Fulham as well but the Cottagers delayed giving their final approval to the move.

Fulham have so far failed to sign a replacement and now, Palhinha will not be joining the German champions today.

With the window now closed in Germany, Bayern Munich are now out of time to sign the player.

Palhinha is now left stranded in Munich and is expected to return to Fulham in the coming hours.

It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich's failure to sign the player affects Ryan Gravenberch's proposed move to Liverpool.

Wolves rebuff Fulham enquiry for Sasa Kalajdzic
Wolves have rebuffed an approach from Fulham for their 26-year-old striker Sasa Kalajdzic as they see him as an essential part.

According to Evening Standard, Fulham have seen their efforts to sign Sasa Kalajdzic knocked back by the Wolves. The Midlands side are not keen to sell two strikers in the same window to one Premier League team and consider the 26-year-old striker as their main frontman.

Fulham are trying to make some moves late in the window as they have lost some significant players in this window. Marco Silva considered the need to replace departed striker Aleksandar Mitrovic an essential piece of business and still have not done anything about it.

The Serb left for a new challenge in Saudi Arabia, with Fulham receiving a significant sum from his sale. So far, they have not made great efforts to bring in a new striker. Instead, they have sold key midfielder Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

They remain linked with replacement options, with AS Monaco's Youssouf Fofana one of their targets, while others could pop on this list before the transfer deadline. They may have thought about bringing in a new frontman in the background.

As per the report, the Cottagers tried to make an approach for Wolves striker Sasa Kalajdzic. The Midlands side are not keen to sell two strikers to the same Premier League rival, especially in the same window. They had already sold Raul Jimenez, who was then seen as a potential replacement for Mitrovic.

Meanwhile, Kalajdzic technically only started playing for Wolves this season after suffering an ACL injury last season on his debut. The idea to deny Fulham a shot at Kalajdzic may have also stemmed from Southampton blocking a loan move for Che Adams earlier today.

Fulham will remain active and may focus on another striker before tonight's transfer deadline. There are a few options on the market for them to consider, but is there enough time to make the right signing? Wolves also have the funds to make a few signings after the sale of Matheus Nunes to Manchester City. They also need a new striker, having not sufficiently replaced the now-departed Jimenez.

Update: João Palhinha transfer to Bayern Munich COLLAPSES despite completed medicals
No go from Fulham's side.

Update (12:00 PM EDT): Joãver
It is now over. Germany's transfer window has closed and Bayern Munich's pursuit of Fulham's João Palhina has fallen apart at the last second, as confirmed by Sport1 reporter Kerry Hau.

The Premier League club failed to find a replacement in time for Palhinha, and though there is six hours remaining before the window closes in England, that will not be necessary now.

Update (11:55 AM EDT): Mayhem
This is just wild. Bayern Munich's deal for Fulham defensive midfielder João Palhina is racing down to the very wire. From Sport Bild, via @iMiaSanMia:

The Palhinha deal is currently on the edge. Still waiting for Fulham to find a replacement ⏳ [@altobelli13]

What's more, Palhinha has actually been in Munich, completing his medicals. The club is ready to go with the announcement. But as the minutes tick down to the close of the transfer window in Germany (12 PM EDT), Fulham is still looking for a replacement, and Bayern is still awaiting the full approval.

The last few hours have been very quiet from Bayern Munich, especially in regards to the Palhinha transfer, but it seems that there has been a massive breakthrough.

As per reports from Sport1's Kerry Hau and Patrick Berger, Fulham FC have agreed to a fee of £58 million (€68 million) including add-ons. Head coach Marco Silva has understood the situation and has given the green light for the transfer of João Palhina to Bayern. Final decision remains in Fulham's hands, who are still working on an replacement for the Portuguese midfield superstar, as captured by @iMiaSanMia.

The latest from Sky's Florian Plettenberg is that Bayern Munich target João Palhinha has now been granted permission from Fulham FC to fly to Munich, but still hasn't received the heads up for his medical. Fabrizio Romano reports that the turning point were the latest round of talks overnight.

More confirmation keeps flooding in: Sportbild's Tobi Altschäffl says that Fulham have a verbal agreement with Bayern for the transfer, with only the final details remaining to be clarified now. And, Abendzeitung's Maximilian Koch reports that its a done deal: for a fee of €65 million.

Bayern's Palhinha pursuit ends in failure
João Palhinha's proposed move to Bayern Munich is off after Fulham failed to find a replacement before the German transfer deadline.

The Portuguese international midfielder completed an extensive medical in Munich – but the deal taking him to the Bundesliga champions was always contingent on the Whites finding a replacement. Fulham failed with attempts to sign Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Manchester United's Scott McTominay.

The worry for Fulham will be whether a Premier League side tests their resolve to hang onto the tenacious tackler in the last six hours of the domestic transfer window.
