Daily Telegraph reporting that the Premier League are recommending a 12 pt deduction for breach of FFP rules.

So that's 1 relegation place sorted.

Sgt Fulham

Might be good news for us, but hard to take any joy in it if it does happen. Sorry, Everton, should have been backed by a Gulf state.

bencher

Terrible timing after Bill Kenwright just died. But they should have gone down 2 years ago, and then last year as well.

For me Everton are a big club so I'd pleased to see them go down and suffer as they surely will do financially, purely on the basis that it might serve as a warming to other clubs, in the PL and lower leagues, that they need to spend within your means.

They won't take 12 from them I guarantee it

Me too, always like to see "big clubs" run into difficult times, even relegation.

Speaking of point reductions, whatever happened with all the chinwagging regards Man City being disciplined??

filham

Have Everton ever been out of the Premier league, I think not.
They are a big club and I doubt if they will have points deducted, possibly a warning and an insignificant fine.
I suspect they will again avoid relegation.

SP

Luton avoiding relegation would be funny.

Gezza

What annoys me is many Everton fan's attitude that they belong in the Premier League and it wont be as good without them.

davew

Didn't know they had bought any players? They must a bigger budget than ours to spend, would be surprised if they had broken the FFP rules, need to find out more!

And if Everton get 12, how many hundreds would/should Man City get?
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

#12
Their transfer business has generated surpluses of 42.3m, 25.4m and 6.5m in the 3 seasons to 2023/24, but they had a net spend of 69.95 in 2020/21, so as an accountant I am now keen to look at their last 3 years accounts filed at Companies House and analyse them, that should take less time than waiting for 1 of our strikers to score.

it would be deserved. Small but well run clubs like Luton deserve to stay up over poorly run clubs like Everton

Remember last season when they were stopping players cars after a game and whining at them , was about as cringey as it gets, full Scouser mode

"Everton reported losses of £372m in the past three years (leading up to 21/22) and faced annual losses for five consecutive years, amounting to over £430m during this time..."

Not with there owners, a few brown envelopes and a huge transfer deal for a nothing player by another club with the same owner. Or massive sponsorship deal.

Rupert

Everton have been fairly generous providers of points for us over the last couple of seasons, haven't they?

Do we really want them to go down?

Yes!
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

Blawarmy

But harsh on Everton considering what certain other blue clubs have been getting up to.

Andy S

Any club that breaks the rules deserves a points deduction.if it relegates them so be it
