It's not often you can say that both Brazil and Argentina lose world cup qualifyers on the same day.Brazil have now lost two and drawn one of their last three qualifyers and sit in fifth place in the table and haven't even played Argentina yet. Could the unthinkable happen and Brazil not qualify for a world cup.

Amazing you always considered those two as likely World Cup Winers.

Brazil will definitely be a World Cup winer if they don't qualify for the next one!

Given the top 6 qualify & 7th go into the playoffs, the chances of them not qualifying is extremely remote.

top 4 and 5th into a play off and that's too many in my opinion

Brazil lose again against Argentina at home ,they have now lost three of their last four qualifiers and are sixth in the table, outside the qualifying positions. They still have to play all those teams they have lost to again so I would assume there maybe more defeats to come.

Think you will find for the expanded 2026 WC 6 South American teams qualify with 7th into qualifiers.

I stand corrected thank you dead cowboy, these are the slots.
Oceanian     1+1 from 11 teams
Asian        8+1 from 46 teams
African      9+1 from 53 teams
Concacaf     6+2 from 35 teams
Europe      16+0 from 55 teams
S American   6+1 from 10 teams

I have always been a critic of how many slots south America get but for me this is just ridiculous, almost no point in having qualifiers' big south American countries can blood their youngsters in competition matches with less fears of not qualifying when other countries won't have that luxury.

While I don't disagree with you, 3 of SA's 6+1 teams have won the WC BUT only 5 of Europe's 16 have. So you could argue for reducing Europe's teams. Given I can't see England ever winning it, maybe leaving us out would make for a stress free tournament.  ::wink::

I think when Uruguay won there wasn't many teams competing and regarding Argentina and Brazil they have the advantage I was alluding too. A lot of the European countries are relatively new having been former countries that have split up. I noticed they have given oceana group an automatic place this time and if they want to grow the game they could have gone further there and maybe in Asia.
