The penny's just dropped that there are no Southern,  Gatwick Express or SouthWest trains on 6th Dec due to an Aslef train strike. The roads will be carnage as well.

My god, you're right. So sorry to mislead anyone. A Ray of light for us South Coast Cottagers. Thank you. I've amended my original post. I got the info originally from the Albion messageboard (home to Kew Bridge that night) which mentioned Thameslink trains.

That was a bit of a palaver. I had a meeting in the City 4-6pm, so went on Thameslink and by the end, all but the 2300 train from Victoria to Gatwick (with a Thameslink from there to Brighton) had been cancelled.  When I got to Victoria at 10ish that Thameslink was cancelled. At Gatwick, I intended to get a coach to Brighton. I went to the taxi queue and asked if anyone was going to Brighton and managed to rustle up a couple of others who coincidentally lived near me. I got home bang on midnight- 20 minutes earlier than if my trains had been running and £30 poorer. Was it worth it? F*** yes, for that performance.  The Forest fans I was talking to on the tube wouldn't be home until 2.

I gave up on trains about 3 or 4 years ago and now drive to every home game (sharing with a couple of mates). I use the JustPark app to find cost effective parking.  Takes away any stress, except occasionally for traffic hold ups on the way to London.

Regarding trains, all you have to do now is wait a short while and all the digusting tories will be gone and the trains can get back on track (and the country)..  Sorry, I know...no politics but it obviously had to be said.
