Pre-Forest Press Conference
Marco Silva is expecting a reaction from Nottingham Forest when they arrive at Craven Cottage for Wednesday's 7.30pm kick-off.

The Reds have won just one of their last 10 Premier League games, losing the last three, but Silva believes that will motivate them to reverse their current fortunes.

"We really know how they are feeling," he said. "Before the Wolves match, we had back-to-back defeats. Not three in a row, but we know how not good results can impact a football team.

"Even if you have quality, even if you know what you are capable to do, even if it's clear what we want to do, the confidence plays always a big part on a performance and results.

"We know that we can take some confidence from them, but at the same time it can give them the will and the desire to react and to show a reaction. You have always the two parts of the coin, and I really believe that they will come here to react.

"They want to react. Of course, in terms of confidence, probably they are not at that level if you are winning football matches in a row, but I think any team in this league knows that it is not easy to keep the consistency in terms of winning ways.

"Sometimes come the bad results and you have to react, and for sure they are going to try to do it, because they have quality."

Asked by the media if he thinks it's unfair that Forest head coach Steve Cooper is "under pressure," Silva replied: "Firstly, I don't know if he's under pressure. That is the thing, I really don't know.

"Of course, the pressure is always here around you, because you know results speak louder in this competition. Today in football, in this business, football is always like that.

"I'm sure Steve, and all the managers at the level that we are, are more than capable to handle the situation and to understand what is important.

"And what is important is always for you to control what you can, and what you can control is your team, your players and all that stuff. And for sure he has all the focus."

Fulham yet to open contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur target

Fulham yet to open contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo
Fulham are yet to open contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Tosin Adarabioyo, as per the Evening Standard.

The 26-year-old centre-back was on Spurs' radar this summer and apparently, even AS Monaco made an offer for him. But all advances were rejected and the player stayed for another season.

The thing is, his contract runs out at the end of the season, and the Cottagers risk losing him on a free transfer. That is nothing but good news for Spurs.

Tosin Adarabioyo wanted by AS Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur. (Photo by Fran Santiago/Getty Images)

The report says that Spurs would retain their interest in the English defender and Monaco could also make another approach. And why wouldn't they?

Spurs should make a move
A player of his quality and pedigree on a free transfer? That is a gold mine. Moreover, he would be a homegrown player, which is always a factor especially if you are in the Premier League.

It is hard to find quality local players who are good enough to be in the starting XI on a regular basis. Cristian Romero's suspension and Micky van de Ven's injury have set us back in the title race.

Had we had someone like Adarabaiyo on the team, it would have been easier to navigate this run of games without having to play Ben Davies centrally. Let's hope the Englishman also has high aims.

Fulham are 14th with 15 points from 14 matches. They don't look like they will be relegated at the end of the season. But that is where their ambitions would end.

He is also in the prime years of his career, and clubs like Spurs would have other options if the target they want doesn't become available. If he wants a move to a 'big' club, not signing a deal should help the cause.

Sources: Fulham now want Chelsea star as they accelerate Mitrovic replacement search
Fulham boss Marco Silva is desperate to strengthen his front line and land a long-term replacement for Aleksandar Mitrović in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that Chelsea star Armando Broja is one name being looked at by Craven Cottage chiefs ahead of the new year.

Broja, 22, is yet to make a real breakthrough at Stamford Bridge since progressing through the club's ranks.

Fulham could step up their interest in the Albania international as they prepare to end their interest in Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (4 December) that the Cottagers held a strong interest in the 27-year-old but it is believed they are now not optimistic of being able to compete with the likes of Man United and Newcastle for his signature.

Broja could be a realistic alternative to the Guinea international, but it is unclear if Chelsea would allow him to leave mid-season.

It is believed the Blues would have to sign a new striker of their own before allowing the 22-year-old to leave.

The Stamford Bridge star has made seven appearances across all competitions this season, scoring one goal.

But most of those outings have been as a substitute and Broja has played just 152 minutes of Premier League action this term.

He has only recently returned from a serious knee injury which kept him out for the majority of the 2022-23 campaign.

The 17-cap Albania international's most successful season in England came at Southampton, where he scored nine goals in 38 appearances on loan in the 2021-22 campaign.

Fulham sit 14th in the Premier League ahead of their next game against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday (6 December).

Rodrigo Muniz transfer latest: Fulham green-light pending, Bristol City and QPR interest, Middlesbrough stance on reunion
All the latest transfer news surrounding Rodrigo Muniz.

Rodrigo Muniz's first two seasons in England have been challenging, but this season he showed promise before getting injured against Manchester United.
Fulham will decide on Muniz's future in January, considering their need for a striker and potential replacements. Bristol City and QPR are interested, as are Brazilian clubs Atlético Mineiro and Gremio.
A return to Middlesbrough is unlikely for Muniz, as his playing time decreased significantly under new manager Michael Carrick, and he needs to focus on his development in England.

Rodrigo Muniz has had a relatively tough first couple of years in England, but this season it looked like he may have turned a corner.

He joined Fulham from Brazilian side Flamengo in 2021 and had a fairly decent first campaign in England as he played 25 league games in the second tier, scoring five goals in the season they got promoted.

The Cottagers decided that he would need to gain more experience before playing in the Premier League, and he was loaned out to Middlesbrough, but that didn't go too well as he only managed to make 17 appearances.

However, even though he didn't show much promise, Marco Silva decided to give him a chance this season as, after some cameo appearances, he was given a start at home against Manchester United.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, though, he had to go off the pitch with an injury which left him in tears, and now there is transfer speculation surrounding his future.

Fulham to decide on Muniz's future in January
According to a report from TEAMTALK, the London club are going to make a decision on the Brazilian's future at the club in this January transfer window.

The Cottagers lost their star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic in the summer, and he was replaced by Raul Jimenez, who has only scored one goal for the club so far, hence why Muniz was given his chance.

No decision will be made on Muniz's future at the club, though, unless they can get a striker of their own, as they will be left short of attacking options if they let him go before replacing him.

Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers are interested
Two sides who are supposedly interested in the forward are QPR and Bristol City, who have both had new managers appointed recently.

Marti Cifuentes of QPR and Liam Manning of Bristol City will be hoping to have busy first transfer windows at their respective clubs, and will be hoping to get their targets in the door quickly.

They will have to battle it out with Brazilian sides Atlético Mineiro and Gremio, who want to bring Muniz back to his home country, so it looks like one key factor in the deal will be the striker's personal preference.

A return to Middlesbrough is not on the cards
His loan at Middlesbrough started rather well as, in his first four league games, he scored two goals in losses against Watford and Cardiff City.

Those games were under Chris Wilder though, who was sacked at the start of November and replaced by Michael Carrick, who didn't take a liking to him.

Under Carrick, Muniz only made six appearances, getting 137 minutes of action in that time. More often than not, he wasn't in the matchday squad.

That is why a move back to Boro in the window is not going to happen for Muniz, as it wouldn't make sense for either the club or the player, as he needs to make big strides in his development if he is going to make it in England.

Forest Matchday Preview
Fulham v Nottingham Forest | Wednesday 6th December | 7.30pm | Craven Cottage | #FULNFO

The opposition

After staying up relatively comfortably in the end last season, Forest began the current campaign in positive fashion, beating Sheffield United and Chelsea, while running both Arsenal and Manchester United close, in their opening four fixtures.
It's been tough going for the Reds since then, though. A 2-0 victory over Aston Villa was a highly impressive result, but the only three points they've taken in their last 10 outings.
They arrive at the Cottage on the back of three consecutive defeats, but those games were all tight contests, as they slipped to 3-2 losses to West Ham and Brighton, before Everton claimed a 1-0 win in Nottingham at the weekend.

Fulham team news

Rodrigo Muniz, Adama Traoré and Issa Diop are making progress, but remain out for this game.

Matchday programme

On the back of his goal-involvement for club and country last month, Antonee Robinson features in the matchday programme for the visit of Nottingham Forest.

"I have managed to get some goals and assists lately across club and international football," commented Jedi on his strikes for the United States in home and away matches against Trinidad & Tobago and assists for Fulham in Premier League clashes with Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool. "It's always a good feeling having that goal involvement, although I have to make sure I'm doing well defensively. That's my primary focus."

Elsewhere in the programme, Club historian Alex White continues his look back at Fulham's Far East tour of 1966 in 'Prestige Friendlies,' while John Shirley's 'Magic Numbers' series moves on to squad number 10. Willian selects a fantasy five-a-side team based on the best players he has played against during his career, and there's an interview with Academy star Bradley Slade.

You can pick up a copy of the programme on the night or online.

No contract talks with Tosin, who looks set to leave Fulham
Marco Silva says there have been no further contract talks with Tosin Adarabioyo, who looks likely to leave Fulham in January.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and almost moved to Monaco in the summer only for an injury to scupper the deal.

Fulham are keen to sell him next month rather than risk losing the defender on a free transfer in the summer.

Tosin joined Fulham from Manchester City in 2020 and played a significant role in helping the Whites win promotion and stay in the Premier League last season, having suffered relegation in his first season with the club.

However, he has missed most of this term because of injury and in recent weeks has had to sit on the bench, with Silva preferring Tim Ream and Calvin Bassey.

"He is in the last year of his contract. We want him to stay longer but let's see if it will be possible," Whites boss Silva said.

"Up to now it has not been. It's in the hands of the board and his agent to start speaking again or not.

"Tosin knows we would like him to stay at this football club. But I don't want him to be involved in this right now, I want him to focus on training and the matchdays. He has recovered well from the bad injury he had.

"It is up to the club to solve it with his agent."

Fulham will still be without Rodrigo Muniz, Adama Traore and Issa Diop for the visit of Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

Fulham turn transfer attention to 22-year-old Chelsea star
Fulham are in search of a new striker.

The Cottagers, who sold Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi side Al Hilal in the summer, are expected to slash the cash on the Serbian's replacement once the January transfer window opens.

However, despite being heavily linked with Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy, Marco Silva, according to a recent report from Football Insider, has turned his attention to Chelsea's Armando Broja.

Unconvinced they'll be able to beat Manchester United and Newcastle United to the Guinean, Fulham are set to pursue a deal for Broja instead. The 22-year-old has struggled to become a first-team regular since returning from his loan with Southampton 18 months ago, and could now be in line for a new challenge.

The Albanian forward, who suffered a long-term knee injury during pre-season against Aston Villa, has managed just two Premier League starts all season, and with the Blues continuing to go after Napoli's Victor Osimhen, it seems unlikely Broja will ever be considered one of his side's most important players.

Consequently, a move to Craven Cottage could be one that suit all parties.

Broja, who, according to Spotrac, earns around £40,000-per week, has four-and-a-half-years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, and is currently valued at around £28 million (TM).

Fulham v Nottingha Forest

TEAM NEWS
Fulham have no fresh injury concerns, with Issa Diop, Adama Traore, Rodrigo Muniz and Tyrese Francois still unavailable.

Antonee Robinson is one booking from triggering a ban.

Nottingham Forest will assess central defenders Willy Boly and Murillo, who both suffered injuries against Everton.

There are also doubts over Danilo, who missed that game because of illness, and Chris Wood, who hurt his knee at the weekend.

Marco Silva takes 'positives' from Liverpool defeat; urges his Fulham players to end losing run
Marco Silva has urged his Fulham players to take the positives out of their defeat to Liverpool as the Cottagers prepare to host Nottingham Forest.

The Cottagers looked set for an unexpected victory at Anfield on Sunday when substitute Bobby De Cordova-Reid put them 3-2 up with just 10 minutes remaining, only for Liverpool to produce a late rally and run out 4-3 winners.

It left Fulham with just one victory in the past six league games, four of which have ended in defeat.

Silva, though, feels his side produced enough quality against the Reds to show they can hold their own as they prepare to host Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

"We didn't get the points we deserved, but we took the positives from the game. We scored three goals at Anfield," Silva said.

"We have had some games where we deserved more. I believe we are more capable to do this now; it is part of the process of the season.

"We have to do the right steps to be more consistent."

American defender Antonee Robinson was one of Fulham's standout performers at Anfield, setting up Harry Wilson to equalise at 1-1 midway through the first half.

"What a performance from him. He was at a high, high level," Silva said.

"I am pleased for him because some games before, he probably wasn't at his best so it has been good to see him react."

Fulham reported no fresh selection concerns, with centre-back Issa Diop, winger Adama Traore, striker Rodrigo Muniz and midfielder Tyrese Francois all still sidelined.

Silva is expecting a reaction from Forest, who were beaten 1-0 at the City Ground by strugglers Everton on Sunday to slip to a third straight league defeat.

"We really know how they are feeling," Silva told a press conference.

"Before the Wolves match, we had back-to-back defeats, not three in a row, but we know how not good results can impact a football team.

"Even if you have quality, even if you know what you are capable to do, even if it's clear what we want to do, the confidence plays always a big part on a performance and results.

"We know that we can take some confidence from them, but at the same time it can give them the will and the desire to react and to show a reaction."

Silva: Fulham must be 'more consistent'
Marco Silva has called on Fulham become 'more consistent' as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of Sunday's late defeat at Liverpool when they face Nottingham Forest tomorrow night.

The Portuguese head coach has focused on the positives of Fulham's excellent showing at Anfield – rather than dwelling on the fact that his side conceded two goals within two minutes having gone 3-2 up through Bobby De Cordova-Reid's late header. Silva told his pre-match press conference at Motspur Park this afternoon:

"We didn't get the points we deserved, but we took the positives from the game. We scored three goals at Anfield. We have had some games where we deserved more. I believe we are more capable to do this now; it is part of the process of the season. We have to do the right steps to be more consistent."

He hailed the outstanding display of left back Antonee Robinson, who kept Mo Salah quiet after producing an assist for the third game in succession.

"What a performance from him. He was at a high, high level. I am pleased for him because some games before, he probably wasn't at his best so it has been good to see him react."

Silva has warned his Fulham squad to expect a reaction from Steve Cooper's Nottingham Forest, who head for the capital having lost three games in a row.

"We really know how they are feeling. Before the Wolves match, we had back-to-back defeats. Not three in a row, but we know how not good results can impact a football team. Even if you have quality, even if you know what you are capable to do, even if it's clear what we want to do, the confidence plays always a big part on a performance and results.

We know that we can take some confidence from them, but at the same time it can give them the will and the desire to react and to show a reaction. You have always the two parts of the coin, and I really believe that they will come here to react. They want to react. Of course, in terms of confidence, probably they are not at that level if you are winning football matches in a row, but I think any team in this league knows that it is not easy to keep the consistency in terms of winning ways.

Sometimes come the bad results and you have to react, and for sure they are going to try to do it, because they have quality."

Fulham U21s lose five-goal thriller at Wycombe
A spirited Fulham under 21 side lost a five-goal thriller at Wycombe Wanderers this evening to exit the Football League Trophy at the second round stage.

The Whites had it all to do after Dale Taylor, who only came into the Chairboys' starting line-up after Lyle Taylor picked up an injury in the warm up, scored twice in the space of fifteen first-half minutes to put the League One outfit in a strong position. But skipper Ollie O'Neill smashed home a stunning effort on the stroke of half time and, even after Chris Forino lashed home from a free-kick to make it 3-1, Ali Melloul's side keep on pushing forward. They gained hope of a remarkable fightback when Jon Esenga's cross deflected in off Tjay de Barr but the hosts survived a late onslaught to reach Friday's last 16 draw.

Wycombe fielded an experienced side, which included former Fulham full back Jack Grimmer as well as Richard Keogh, Garath McCleary and Joe Jacobson, and started the stronger. Taylor could easily have fired them ahead in the sixth minute but couldn't turn in a dangerous cross from the right. After Kieran Sadlier's low drive had tested Steven Benda in the Fulham goal, the home side hit the front when Taylor clinically finished from the edge of the box after McCleary had seen a shot blocked.

Luke Harris drilled Fulham's clearest opening over the bar but Wycombe continued to make most of the running with Benda redeeming himself for a misplaced ball by making a magnificent reaction stop to keep out McCleary's curling effort. The former Swansea goalkeeper could do nothing to prevent Taylor from touching home his second from close range after Sadlier and Leahy had combined to put the striker in a great position.

But O'Neill rose to the occasion in stoppage time at the end of the first period with a sensational individual effort. The Irish under-21 international curled a fine finish into the top corner to bring the visitors right back into the contest. O'Neill nearly turned provider for Imani Lanquedoc as Fulham restarted on the front foot, but his low ball in evaded the in-form winger.

Wycombe goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli then made a comfortable save from Kristian Šekularac before the former Juventus forward rifled a long-range effort narrowly over the bar. Taylor should have completed his hat-trick and put the contest to bed but rolled a finish wide of goal having sprinted clear of the Fulham defence, but that fortunate escape seemed to galvanise the Whites.

Promising full-back Esenga almost surprised Ravizzoli with a viciously inswinging corner that needed turning over the crossbar and Harris spurned a great chance that he fashioned for himself with some trademark quick feet by shooting straight at the goalkeeper. Lanquedoc then sent a curler wide but Fulham were punished for not taking their chances when Forino fired home after the visitors had missed the chance to clear a free-kick.

Belief surged through Melloul's battlers when Esenga's cross looped off Gibraltar international de Barr and over a helpless Ravizzoli but the Argentinian goalkeeper preserved Wycombe's slender advantage late on when he somehow kept out Aaron Loupalo-Bi's header with a sprawling save. Fulham's youngsters were beaten – but this was a performance to be proud of at Adams Park.

WYCOMBE WANDERERS (3-4-3): Ravizzoli, Grimmer (Forino 67), Keogh, Jacobson, Sadlier, Breckin (Scowen 54), Leahy (de Barr 54), Boyes; McCleary (Phillips 55′), Wheeler, Taylor (Ward 79). Subs (not used): Stryjek, Scowen.

GOALS: D. Taylor (22, 37), Fiorino (79).

FULHAM UNDER 21s (4-2-3-1): Benda; Tanton, Esenga, Araujo, Odutayo; King (Okkas 55), Donnell; Lanquedoc, O'Neill, Harris; Šekularac (Loupalo-Bi 55). Subs (not used): McNally, de Jesus, Williams, Osmand.

GOALS: O'Neill (45+3), Esenga (82).

Daring Fulham raid on Chelsea paves way for Man Utd to complete deadly striker signing
Fulham have cleared the way for Manchester United to sign a lethal striker in January by switching their focus to an underused Chelsea forward, per reports.

Fulham are yet to adequately replace the goals provided by former frontman Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serbian fired the Cottagers to promotion in the 2021/22 season when remarkably notching 43 goals in 44 Championship matches.

Mitrovic proved he could be potent in the Premier League, returning 14 goals in just 24 appearances last season.

However, Mitrovic angled for a move to Saudi Arabia when Al-Hilal came calling and Fulham reluctantly sanctioned a club-record £50m exit over the summer.

Mitrovic has done what you'd expect in the middle east, scoring 20 goals in 22 appearances. However, the void he left at Craven Cottage is a glaring one.

Raul Jimenez was drafted in from Wolves to soften the blow but the Mexican has scored just a single goal in 15 appearances.

Varying outlets all concur Fulham and manager Marco Silva are desperate for more firepower and will splash the cash to remedy their issue in the winter window.

One player on their radar is Stuttgart's red-hot frontman, Serhou Guirassy. The Guinea international has plundered 16 goals in 11 Bundesliga matches this term and an extremely modest release clause worth just €17.5m can see the 27-year-old move on the cheap.

Fulham abandon Guirassy chase as Man Utd links grow
Football Insider recently listed Fulham, Newcastle and Man Utd as being on Guirassy's trail ahead of the January window.

However, per the outlet, Fulham are resigned to the fact they won't be able to compete with Man Utd and Newcastle in terms of appeal and the level of salary they can offer.

As such, a fresh update from FI revealed Fulham have walked away from the Guirassy chase, thus removing a competitor for Man Utd and Newcastle in the chase.

Discussing a potential Guirassy to Man Utd transfer, Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg wrote on the social media platform X on December 1: "News. Guirassy: Yes, Man Utd is very interested – confirmed.

"Man Utd is looking for a new striker in winter and the 27 y/o can leave VfB Stuttgart for less than €20m in January – as revealed.

"Understand that Man Utd is a serious option for Guirassy once it becomes concrete from United's side."

Marco Silva turns to Armando Broja
With Fulham seemingly out of the running for Guirassy, Football Insider state Silva's side are turning their attention to Chelsea and are seriously considering launching an audacious raid for Armando Broja.

The 22-year-old Albanian is behind Nicolas Jackson in the pecking order at present. What's more, Christopher Nkunku can play in the No 9 role if required and is edging ever closer to a return to fitness.

Furthermore, Chelsea are also understood to be in the market for another new striker signing in January. Ivan Toney is on their radar, as is Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

FI describe Broja as a potentially 'realistic' transfer target for Fulham, though Chelsea may only give the go-ahead if landing a new frontman first.

West Ham unsuccessfully bid £30m for Broja over the summer, thus giving an indication as to the type of fee Fulham would need to bid.

Further clouding Fulham's aim is the fact Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of Broja.

Transfer insider Dean Jones told TEAMtalk Pochettino is high on Broja's style of play and does believe he has a future at Stamford Bridge.

As such, Fulham would need to lodge an offer Chelsea deem too good to refuse.

Nottingham Forest hero Stuart Pearce singles out two difference-makers ahead of Fulham tie
EXCLUSIVE: Stuart Pearce spoke to Express Sport ahead of Nottingham Forest's clash with Fulham.

Stuart Pearce believes that two of Nottingham Forest's summer signings can do damage at Fulham on Wednesday night. Steve Cooper will be desperate for the Tricky Trees to bounce back after suffering three consecutive Premier League defeats.

Forest picked up only eight Premier League points away from home last season. But they are on course to better that total this time around, having banked a big win at Chelsea in September.

Pearce believes that the addition of pace out wide through summer signings Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi has given his former club an extra bite away from the City Ground. And the former England international expects that to come into play at Craven Cottage.

"Elanga has impressed me the most," Pearce told Express Sport. "Forest's away form was really poor last year and I think the pace they've brought into the squad with him and Hudson-Odoi has offered them a counter-attack threat, especially on the road.

"I'm expecting that to be their biggest weapon at Fulham." Forest signed ex-Manchester United winger Elanga for £15million during the summer, before Hudson-Odoi joined from Chelsea in a cut-price deal on deadline day.

Pearce claims that, alongside the duo's influence, winnable upcoming games against Wolves and Bournemouth could also give Forest a timely boost. "They've had some really tough games on the road," he added.

Football rumours: Race hotting up in pursuit of Joao Palhinha

What the papers say
Bayern Munich will face stiff competition in their pursuit off Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, 28. The Daily Telegraph reports at least two Premier League sides are watching the Portuguese player ahead of the January transfer window.

Arsenal are eyeing a move for Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz, according to The Sun via Turkish-Football. The 18-year-old moved from Bayern Munich in the summer and earned his first Turkish call-up in October.

Jadon Sancho remains on course for a January exit from Manchester United. The Daily Mirror reports the England winger, 23, is "training like a beast" to prepare for the transfer window.

Silva: Fans Can Be The Difference
Marco Silva wants the Fulham faithful to give his side an extra lift on Wednesday night.

Our Head Coach cited Liverpool's home crowd as a major factor in their comeback victory over the Whites, and is keen to see our fans have a similar impact.

"I really hope that the Cottage is going to be buzzing, because we need it," he said. "We need the crowd behind us. We need them from the first minute, because it can play a big part.

"It's easy to understand, in my opinion, for example we were playing at Anfield and we scored [to make it] 3-2.

"We were celebrating the goal and our fans, they were of course over the moon, because it was not just the 3-2, it was a very great team goal, the way we built up that goal was a very, very good level.

"But I started, from this moment, to feel the stadium pushing again, with everybody pushing for Liverpool, even though they conceded 3-2. And, of course, this makes the difference.

"This type of reaction from the [Liverpool] fans, even if you are unhappy with the third goal, okay you are unhappy, but let's push the guys forward again, let's push them to try to be on the front foot, because we have enough time to turn the things again.

"It's a good example, to be honest. The reaction from the Anfield crowd after our third goal was a top example of how they should always behave. In a tough moment, the away team scored the third goal, and they react straightaway as a crowd.

"For [the Forest] match, I hope our fans are behind the team from the first moment. If something doesn't come like we want in the first minutes, to keep always behind us, to push the players forward.

"Because 100 per cent sure, the players are going to show up, they are going to give their 100 per cent to win the match."

Arsenal, Man Utd or Liverpool? Palhinha's perfect Premier League club
Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha is the subject of many transfer rumours ahead of the January window, with Arsenal and Manchester United among the Premier League clubs thought to be interested in the 28-year-old.

Palhinha was extensively chased in the summer, and the Telegraph reports that "multiple" Premier League teams are again following the Portugal international ahead of the midseason transfer window.

Bayern Munich are known to be keen on a player that Fulham put an incredible €70 million (£60m) asking price on during the summer.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool were all in for Palhinha at that point, and at least the former two of these giants are considering revisiting the case in January.

But which Premier League club is the player best suited for?

Data analytics firm SciSports suggest that Man Utd are the player's best bet if he chooses to move to another Premier League side in January. The Red Devils get a Club Fit score – calculated by looking at aspects such as formation, style, playing time and potential development – of 73.

The Old Trafford outfit's main strength for Palhinha would be the offer of plenty playing time.

West Ham also get a Club Fit score of 73. While they are weaker in terms of development, they would offer more playing time and a style better suited to him.

Newcastle on 72 and Arsenal on 70 come next, with both sides offering the player development opportunities but less playing time.

Liverpool are well down the list of ideal Premier League destinations, with a Club Fit score of 60. The Anfield side offers development but not game time after they added Ryan Gravenberch to their ranks late in the summer.

Palhinha would be best off staying put, with Fulham coming out with Club Fit score of 77.

Bayern perfect for Palhinha
If he really wishes to push for a move, though, Bayern Munich are the only team that offers him a better solution than the Cottagers.

FCB score excellently in terms of development and playing time, and while they are weak in style, this is made up in formation.

With Bayern leading the race of Palhinha ahead of January, it's a transfer he should seriously consider taking advantage of.

Predicted Nottingham Forest XI vs Fulham... Felipe starts, 31-year-old dropped
Nottingham Forest face Fulham at Craven Cottage tonight and ahead of the clash, we've looked at a predicted team that Steve Cooper might utilise.

The Reds have lost three at the trot in the Premier League and are slipping closer to the bottom three than they'd like to this season.

Steve Cooper has come under pressure in recent weeks and it's no secret that he could desperately do with a big performance and result tonight.

Predicted Nottingham Forest team vs Fulham
The Forest rearguard
Odysseas Vlachodimos will likely keep his place between the posts for the trip to the capital, having been handed his debut against Aston Villa last month.

At the back, there could be some changes, following successive home defeats against Brighton and Everton.

Serge Aurier looked rusty on Saturday and he could be replaced by Ola Aina on the right-hand side of the defensive unit.

Elsewhere, perhaps Felipe will start for the first time this season after returning against Everton, playing the whole second half.

Murillo and Harry Toffolo will both likely keep their places on the left side of the flat back four.

The Forest engine room
It seemed madness even to consider dropping Nicolas Dominguez on Saturday and Steve Cooper has to restore him tonight.

Darren Fletcher previously praised Dominguez when he first came into the club and he should get the chance to start against Fulham.

Ibrahim Sangare will likely keep his place after he came off just beyond the hour mark on Saturday.

Completing the three-man midfield, it would be very difficult to drop Orel Mangala who has been one of the team's unsung heroes this season.

Leading the Forest line
This is where Cooper is going to have his biggest conundrum tonight.

Chris Wood was largely ineffective against Brighton and Everton and perhaps deploying Morgan Gibbs-White in a more central role is the way to go.

If he plays as a false nine, it could allow Cooper to utilise proper wingers in tandem.

Anthony Elanga should get the nod to start, whilst Callum Hudson-Odoi could also get his first start for a couple of months against the team that wanted him this summer.

Here is how the predicted Forest team could look tonight:

FFP concerns, £55m agreement and new deal raise questions over Joao Palhinha to Arsenal transfer
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been tipped to bolster his midfield options with the signing of Fulham's Joao Palhinha in the January transfer window - who almost joined Bayern Munich in the summer

You can tell the January transfer window is just around the corner with rumours heating up with regards to who Arsenal are looking to sign as Mikel Arteta aims to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.

Over the past few days, links to Fulham's Joao Palhinha have emerged. However, getting a deal over the line would be extremely difficult for so many reasons. One is that football.london understands the midfielder attracting interest from several Premier League clubs as well as Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese international came close to making the switch to Germany in the summer window after a €65million (£55million) deal had been agreed only for the move to collapse at the last minute on deadline day because the Cottagers could not sign a replacement in time.

Palhinha has since signed a new deal at Craven Cottage, which reportedly doesn't contain a release clause That leaves the west London outfit in a strong negotiating position should Bayern or another team wish to pursue a move for the 28-year-old next month.

Now, the likely finances involved in any deal may complicate things for Arsenal. Following an outlay of more than £200million in the summer, they have to be wary of not breaching any financial fair play (FFP) rules especially when considering Everton have been hit with a 10-point deduction - subject to appeal - after falling afoul of the new profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

Perhaps if the north London outfit were to raise funds by selling Thomas Partey - there is an expectation that they will, once again, be willing to sell the Ghanaian for the right price in January following his latest injury setback - a move for Palhinha becomes more feasible. But even if the stars align, is he what's required right now?

Finances aside, if there is indeed some truth to the speculation then one can only assume the Gunners are planning to bring in cover for Declan Rice in January because the timing of the Africa Cup of Nations dictates Partey and Mohamed Elneny will potentially miss up to a month of action if selected by Ghana and Egypt respective.

Similar to previous links with Fluminense's Andre, targeting Palhinha would make sense if Rice was the sole available midfielder to get the Gunners through four Premier League fixtures, and possibly an FA Cup fourth-round tie should they overcome Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Even if there are six games to play during the period from January 13 to February 11 then that's where Arteta can turn to Jorginho. The 31-year-old may not be a regular but he has proven against Manchester City and in the Champions League this season that he can do a job when called upon.

Crucially, Palhinha is a classic holding midfielder whose game is modelled on breaking up play and providing a platform for the more creative players to get on the ball. This is not a bad thing, but Arsenal don't necessarily need another of his profile for the time being. Granted Jorginho is out of contract - along with Elneny in the summer - so then, not January, would be the perfect time to address the position.

If Arsenal are going to make a signing in January, many supporters will point to the attack needing to be improved. That's a fair argument as a deal for Pedro Neto or Ivan Toney might be what's required for the second half of the campaign, but there perhaps are greater needs in defence.

As is the case with Partey and Elneny, Takehiro Tomiyasu could also be away for up to a month from January as he's expected to be named in the Japan squad for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and his likely departure would leave Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior as the senior defenders at Arteta's disposal.

Unless Jurrien Timber makes a miraculous recovery from an ACL injury, or Cedric Soares gets an opportunity then it's a risky strategy to try and navigate a hectic fixture schedule with limited defensive options and we saw towards the end of last season how one major injury cost them dearly in the title race.

The January transfer window will present Arteta and Edu with an opportunity to improve the Arsenal team where they see fit. Looking at the squad as is it currently and taking the timing of the aforementioned international tournaments into consideration, a defensive addition seems more appropriate.

Chairman has now suggested Liverpool should sign 'superb' Fulham player after 4-3 win on Sunday
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested that Liverpool should sign Antonee Robinson after Fulham's 4-3 loss against the Reds.

The USA international was arguably the Cottagers' best player on the day as Robinson assisted Harry Wilson in the opening half whilst also keeping Mohamed Salah quiet down Liverpool's right flank.

A former Everton academy product, Robinson has developed into an efficient left-back at Fulham and a consistent performer in the Premier League, with Marco Silva taking the 26-year-old's game to a new level.

And speaking on the Hard Truth podcast, Peterborough chairman and Liverpool fan MacAnthony has suggested that the Reds should make a move for Robinson.

The League One official said about the USA defender after Liverpool's 4-3 win against Fulham: "I tell you one thing, the Fulham left-back has been superb.

"I wouldn't mind him as Liverpool do need a left-back in the next couple of windows. His pace, the way he handled Salah today, he's a proper young player that Antonee Robinson."

Antonee Robinson could be a brilliant signing for Liverpool
Whilst Robinson isn't as young as some might think, there's no doubt that the Milton Keynes-born fullback is quite the player in the Premier League.

And for Liverpool, the Fulham man could be a great signing if they're to look for a new backup for Andy Robertson or even a successor for the Scotland international.

Indeed, Robinson has proven that he is just as good defending as he is going forward, and this could be an appealing asset for Liverpool.

Whether or not a move would even happen is another story entirely, yet Liverpool should be keeping tabs on Robinson as they prepare to build their squad for the future.

Up next: Nottingham Forest (h)
After the pain of Anfield, came the pride at a courageous Fulham performance. But as Alex Iwobi so eloquently put it in the immediate aftermath, the Premier League don't award points for plaudits. Marco Silva's sense of adventure appears ingrained in this side now – the Whites were unwilling to put men behind the ball even when it might have been for the best and paid the penalty for switching off defensively twice in 76 seconds. It was a lesson in the harsh realities of top flight football, akin to the one Luton Town were dealt by Declan Rice at the death last night.

Silva stressed the need for his side to become more consistent yesterday afternoon as he looked forward to a swift opportunity to return to winning ways against Nottingham Forest. Fulham have oscillated between home win and home defeat since the start of this season, whilst performances wherever they have played have been patchy at best. Some of that is understandable: not only have teams worked out how the Whites play, Silva has been unable to pick the same side for much of the campaign. But picking up wins is essential to avoid looking over your shoulder at the relegation zone, even if the fear of the drop has diminished after the Premier League deducted ten points from Everton.

A point and a place is all that separates Fulham from Forest, but the visitors have lost their last three games with whispers about Steve Cooper's future starting to be heard once again. The idea that the Welshman, quietly one of the most cerebral coaches in the domestic game, is under pressure would seem preposterous but conventional thinking doesn't appear to enter the mind of Evangelos Marinakis, who was recently summoned by the Greek Supreme Court to testify to his assertion that 'Greek football is run by a criminal ring'. The Forest chairman, whose time as owner of Olympiacos has certainly not been short on controversy, assured Cooper that his job was safe for now after an abject defeat at the hands of Everton – but both men will want to see an improvement.

That makes Forest dangerous opposition tonight. They showed their potential in an impressive start to the season after surprising everyone outside of Nottingham by avoiding the drop with relative ease in their first top-flight campaign for 23 years. Cooper's charges defeated Sheffield United and Chelsea before pushing Arsenal and Manchester United all the way and beat the oft-admired Aston Villa 2-0 – and they certainly haven't been outclassed in three narrow defeats recently. They lost enthralling encounters by the odd goal in five to Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham before the underwhelming home loss against Everton.

Cooper is confident his side can recover but the precise make-up of his line-up will only become clear after fitness tests for several injury doubts. These include evergreen New Zealand international Chris Wood as well as crucial centre halves Willy Boly and Murillo. All three sustained injuries in the Everton defeat and their participation at Craven Cottage is rated as 50-50, whilst dynamic midfielder Danilo, absent at the weekend after illness, is also being assessed to ascertain his availability. There is no doubt that Forest's potency in the final third has been undermined by the absence of Taiwo Awoniyi, who has scored fifteen goals in 39 games after arriving from Union Berlin, after the Nigerian international underwent groin surgery and the departure for Tottenham of Welsh winger Brennan Johnson.

Silva has his own selection dilemmas with Fulham's injury picture remaining the same as Issa Diop, Adama Traore, Rodrigo Muniz and Tyrese Francois remain unavailable. Kenny Tete acquitted himself well after two and a half months out at Anfield, even if demotion to the bench was harsh on Timothy Castagne. Antonee Robinson put in the performance of his life at left back, although the American is now one booking away from a ban, whilst the Fulham boss is likely to stick with Calvin Bassey and Tim Ream in the centre of defence despite the return to fitness of Tosin Adarabioyo. Tom Cairney's absence from the starting line-up on Merseyside after inspiring the crucial win over Wolves was probably with this fixture in mind and the boyhood Forest fan will be desperate to make an impression tonight.

The Fulham head coach could consider Sunday's selection of Harry Wilson vindicated by the Welsh international's equaliser in front of the Kop, but Willian – scorer of that stunning goal against Forest last season – must come into contention this evening. Alex Iwobi has proven his versatility by shining in a wide position in his last two outings having previously added some flair to what had become something of a flat engine room, whilst Raul Jimenez's encouraging display against Liverpool must rank as his strongest in a Fulham shirt. Plenty to ponder for Silva but, fitness permitting, there's a strong case against wholesale changes in that quest for consistency.

MY FULHAM XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, A. Robinson, Bassey, Ream; Palhinha, Cairney; Wilson, Willian, Iwobi; Jimenez. Subs: Rodak, Castagne, Ballo-Toure, Adarabioyo, Reed, Lukic, De Cordova-Reid, Pereira, Vinicius.
