Soft offense to disallow proper goal, 2 clear penalties not given.

VAR is the enemy of football.

Yes there are probably loads of fouls each time in that situation but usually the keeper does get the benefit of the doubt .

Villa should have had an early penalty but the second appeal definitely was not. The biggest mistake was disallowing the goal probably for the wrong reason.  Yes the Villa player grabbed the keepers arm but he was having his shirt pulled off his back by a defender first so a penalty should have been awarded to Villa at that stage. VAR subsequently should therefore have allowed the goal to stand as the first foul in the build up was by Sheff Utd.

Not sure Villa were robbed, the holding back of the goalie has impacted his ability to catch or punch the ball more efficiently.

Too often, even before var, referees call the retaliated foul and not the first one.  Just plain wrong and var has done nothing to improve it.

If var allowed to continue and possibly expand, we will have to set aside 3 hours to watch a match. The cup games, NO VAR, were really good to watch. End to end football, referees decision is final and for the most part, 100% dead on.

Even the highlights on sky. I settled down late to watch 30 minutes highlights. (cant even remember which teams were playing) The first almost 10 minutes showed none of the football but three var decisions from several angles. I gave up, went to bed.

They'd probably still be playing now after VAR had decided what to do !

Another weekend and the first game is VAR dominated..

Same old story .

We cheer when VAR works in our favour, we groan when it doesn't. I suspect supporters of most clubs feel this way.
