FFP is strangling the transfer market

I believe the lack of activity in this January window is because of the strict application of Financial Fair Play rules.

Everton were hit with a points deduction because of breaching FFP and many other clubs including Fulham are on the edge of similar sanction.

But look at Newcastle who have unlimited monies beyond access because of FFP.

One has to observe the facts, that this has been one of the quietest windows in recent memory.

The agents will be up in arms over the lack of activity, I feel for them missing out on their 20% cut.

It's frustrating for the fans who're used to seeing exciting transfer windows, but I'm hopeful we're at a turning point now.

If Man City are relegated, and Everton/Forest get further sanctions, it might be end to the absurd escalation of player wages and fees, which could help bring greater competition within the league.

I'd be all for it if that happens.
