Fulham chasing Cherki
Fulham have tabled a £35m offer for Lyon forward Rayan Cherki, according to Alan Nixon.

The 20 year-old has been linked with a host of English sides over the past six months and Lyon are reportedly ready to cash in on their prized asset to fund incoming transfers as they battle to starve off relegation from Ligue 1. The 20 year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or on either flank, has scored fifteen goals and made nineteen assists in 123 matches since breaking into the Lyon senior side in 2019.

Chekri, who has made three goals for Lyon in nineteen appearances this term, is preparing to fly to London for a Fulham medical.

Club waiting for €35m bid for Fulham target – 'Decisive hours' for record transfer
This month, we've seen reports from Brazil claiming that Fulham reopened talks with Fluminense to sign André.

It was claimed that following the interest from last year, the Whites resumed negotiations and could be about to make an official bid.

With the transfer deadline approaching, Globo Esporte now features a story about the midfielder's situation, and it seems Fulham haven't placed their offer yet.

The outlet explains that Fluminense are living decisive hours for the player's future, as they expect him to be the biggest sale in their history.

The problem is that they demand €35m, and since no official bids arrived at their table, they're starting to believe no clubs will offer that in the winter market.

It's confirmed that approaches have arrived from England, though, so the move isn't ruled out yet.

This week, Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt spoke to the local media about the transfer market. He explained André's situation and confirmed that there's the possibility he will be sold before the end of the window.

"We're inside the club, we know what happens here. You might get a surprise and he'll leave in the next 24 hours. Or it could be that one arrives in the middle of the year for him to leave. I think it will happen by the middle of the year, because it's important for him and for the club financially," said Mario Bittencourt (via Globo Esporte).

"I always repeat: there is a smaller proposal for the club, which is good for the player, and one that is good for the club and bad for the player. His head is very good, and that's what I worry most about. He expects to go, because he fulfilled an agreement to stay, and I also fulfil agreements."

Fulham are pushing to land Chelsea striker Armando Broja before Thursday's transfer deadline... but Blues are holding out for £50MILLION for the Albanian striker

Fulham are eager to bolster their attacking options before the end of the window
Chelsea are not willing to let young striker Armando Broja leave on the cheap

Fulham want to negotiate a deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline - but the move hinges on the player's £50million valuation.

As revealed on the latest It's All Kicking Off podcast, talks over a move across west London for the talented centre-forward are underway - but a move is in the balance.

The key factor in a both clubs striking a successful deal is understood to be Chelsea's determination to recoup a huge sum for the 22-year-old.

If the Blues are to sell Broja permanently this month they have told Fulham they want £50million.

Armando Broja could leave before the end of the window, but only if a team stumps up £50m

Fulham boss Marco Silva (left) is open to a loan but Chelsea want a large fee for the Albanian

Similarly, any loan deal, which Fulham are also open to, would need to include an obligation to buy for that same figure.

Mail Sport understands the Cottagers are reluctant to meet that asking price.

Talks are ongoing between the clubs as Fulham try to negotiate a lower fee, and sources are indicating that the deal is possible heading into the final hours of the transfer window.

Broja is also attracting interest from Wolves, where finances are limited amid FFP restrictions.

Nevertheless the Albania striker could become the lead figure on transfer deadline day following a relatively slow January window.

There was scepticism about the £50m price tag on the latest It's All Kicking Off podcast

Ian Ladyman, co-host of the It's All Kicking Off podcast, said: 'Strikers are always the most expensive, almost always the most valuable commodity. But what I think this is about is one club being close to the PSR (Premier League Spending Rules) limit.

'Sell a player for what you know is over the top and then free up a bit of space to relax, breathe and maybe sign a player. I don't think Fulham will be going for £50million any time soon.'

Ladyman's scepticism on the large price tag was met with agreement from Mike Keegan, who co-hosted Wednesday's It's All Kicking Off Transfer Week podcast.

Keegan said: 'In the transfer window, nobody is more valuable than strikers. You get to January and there is a desperation for goals above anything else.

'Maybe that's Chelsea trying to cash in on that, or maybe they are just chancing their arm. But it certainly seems... you just wouldn't pay it, would you? I can't see Fulham paying it.'

Betis and Augsburg vie for Vinicius deal
Augsburg and Real Betis are keen on signing Fulham forward Carlos Vinicius before the end of the transfer window, according to a recent report on Sky Sports News.

Fulham have been reluctant to sanction a cut-price deal for Vinicius, who has fallen out of favour with Marco Silva this season, because Benfica are entitled to 50% of any fee the Whites fee receive as part of the deal that brought the Brazilian to Craven Cottage last summer. Vinicius, who has scored three goals in seventeen appearances this season, would like to get first-team football on loan before reconsidering his future at the end of the season.

Fulham make 'formal approach' of loan with option for Armando Broja — reports
Not quite £50m!

Friendly neighbors Fulham are said to be interested in Armando Broja, and as we approach the final 24 hours of the transfer window, they are reportedly putting that interest into action, making a "formal approach" today.

Unfortunately, that approach is not quite the £50m transfer that we're looking for, though that may not be a realistic expectation on our part. Instead, Fulham have proposed a loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. There's no word on how much that option might be, but I'm guessing it would be less than £50m.

Chelsea had recently rejected a loan offer from Wolves for Broja, but their bid did not include an option. So we'll see if that sways us in this case — it sounds like we might be willing to negotiate down. Broja certainly could use a loan to get his feet properly back under himself (with more consistent gametime in a less pressured environment) a year removed from ACL surgery.

The 13 players Spurs, Chelsea and Fulham could sign for free this year
These Premier League stars could be available on free transfers come the summer.

As the January transfer window draws to a close in the Premier League, attentions are already turning to the summer with a number of big deals touted this month looking more likely to happen come the summer.

One factor that plays a big role in negotiations is how long players have left on their contracts at current clubs. The closer those deals get to ending, the more pressure teams have to cash-in on stars or risk them walking away for free - and that can lead to late deals being struck in January.

For clubs under financial pressure, those free agent deals can work brilliantly. LondonWorld looks at 13 Premier League stars who could be available for free this summer for Spurs, Chelsea, Fulham and all London clubs including Brentford, West Ham and Crystal Palace - market value taken from Transfermarkt.

1. Ola Aina - Nottingham Forest, £7m
Signed a one-year contract with the club last summer.

2. Joel Matip - Liverpool, £7m
Signed a four-year contract in 2019.

3. Will Hughes - Crystal Palace, £7.5m
Signed a three-year deal with the club in 2021.

4. Bertrand Traore - Aston Villa, £8.5m
Signed a four-year contract in 2020.

5. Thiago - Liverpool, £8.5m
Signed a four-year contract with the club in 2020.

6. Josh Dasilva - Brentford, £10m
Signed a four-year contract in 2020.

7. Tosin Adarabioyo - Fulham, £10m
Signed a four-year contract with the club in 2020.

8. Andre Gomes - Everton, £10m
Signed a five-year contract with the club in 2019.

9. Kenny Tete - Fulham, £13m
Signed a four-year deal in 2020 but the club can trigger another 12 months.

10. Jorginho - Arsenal, £13m
Signed an 18-month contract with Arsenal last January but the club can trigger another 12 months.

11. Anthony Martial - Man Utd, £13m
Signed a five-year contract in 2019 but the club has the option to trigger another year.

12. Lloyd Kelly - Bournemouth, £13.5m

Fulham bat away loan interest in Carlos Vinicius... with the Cottagers only interested in selling their out-of-favour forward amid Bayer Leverkusen and Valencia links

Fulham are prepared to allow Carlos Vinicius to leave before the window closes
But the club will only consider permanent offers for the former Benfica striker

Carlos Vinicius is a loan target for top clubs in Europe and Brazil but Fulham will only consider offers for a permanent sale and want more than £9million.

Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, Sevilla and Valencia in Spain, Atletico-MG and Sao Paulo in Brazil are all interested in the 28-year-old Brazilian centre-forward who has been little used by Marco Silva this season.

Vinicius, a former Tottenham, Benfica and PSV striker, is ready to leave Craven Cottage for a new challenge but fears the price tag will cost him the chance.

Fulham signed him in September 2022 from Benfica where he scored 24 goals in 49 games and was top scorer in the Portuguese League in 2019-20.

He also had loan spells at Tottenham and PSV.

Fulham are interested in signing Armando Broja from Chelsea, who want £40m for their homegrown Albania international.

Fulham submit Broja loan bid
Fulham have submitted a second loan offer in this transfer window for Chelsea's Armando Broja, according to reports this afternoon.

The Whites, who also saw an enquiry rebuffed by their near neighbours in November, have proposed a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Chelsea are eager to sell squad players to fund potential acquisitions in the closing hours of the transfer window. They have dropped their asking price for a sale to £40m according to the Daily Mail – and it remains to be seen whether Fulham's approach will be looked upon favourably.

Chelsea rejected a loan offer from Wolves yesterday.

Fulham submit loan bid for Armando Broja after Chelsea lay out specific demands
Fulham have submitted a loan bid for Armando Broja in a late swoop for the Chelsea star, talkSPORT understands.

Fulham are desperate to bolster their attack after Raul Jimenez suffered a serious hamstring injury, leaving them light up top.

And Chelsea have been willing to listen to offers for Broja all month with interest from several Premier League sides being fielded.

But Fulham have now made an official bid for the 21-year-old, a loan until the end of the season, talkSPORT understands.

Chelsea have been looking for a fee of £50million this month for the Albania international, who has one goal in the Premier League this season.

Whether the Blues accept their London neighbours' bid remains to be seen having already rejected one loan bid this month.

Wolves had a move until the end of the season turned down because it did not include an obligation to buy clause.

And Fulham's bid is also understood to not include such a clause as they look to loan him for the rest of the season.

Chelsea would rather a permanent sale but are willing to loan Broja out if it means he is sold in the summer.

The Blues have been open for business all month with fellow academy graduates Trevoh Chalobah and Conor Gallagher up for sale.

Tottenham were interested in the latter but have baulked at the £50million asking price.

While Bayern Munich were keen in Chalobah in the summer but have since cooled their interest after the arrival of Eric Dier.

It means Mauricio Pochettino could be in for a quiet Deadline Day on Thursday.

That is despite the club being linked with late moves for Newcastle star Callum Wilson and Aston Villa ace Jhon Duran.

"For Thursday (transfer deadline day), I think it is not going to happen many things. I think we are quiet and the market is quiet. At the moment, all is quiet, calm and relaxed.

"I was talking with the players, the whole squad, with meetings today. At the moment, we are all relaxed about the whole situation of the squad.

"There is always speculation and we need to live with that, (but) at the moment, (there is) nothing to communicate and nothing (has) happened."

Report: Fulham and Chelsea in Tense £50M Striker Deal

Fulham's Striker Chase: A Transfer Tug-of-War
In the buzzing world of football transfers, the clock is ticking down to the end of the January window, and clubs are scrambling to make their final moves. One story that's caught the eye of many is Fulham's pursuit of Chelsea's young striker, Armando Broja. As the Daily Mail reports, this potential transfer is teetering on a knife-edge, with a staggering £50 million valuation at its heart.

Broja's Market Value: The Sticking Point
"Fulham want to negotiate a deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline – but the move hinges on the player's £50million valuation," as the Daily Mail highlights. This sum is not just a figure plucked from the air; it represents Chelsea's confidence in Broja's potential and their unwillingness to part with him on the cheap.

This valuation, however, has put Fulham in a precarious position. The Daily Mail's insight reveals that "the Cottagers are reluctant to meet that asking price." It's a classic transfer standoff – a buying club faced with a valuation that stretches their budget and a selling club holding firm on their prized asset's worth.

Negotiations and Alternatives
The talks are ongoing, and as the transfer deadline looms, Fulham's eagerness to strengthen their attack confronts Chelsea's financial expectations. There's talk of a possible loan deal with an obligation to buy, but even this arrangement would hinge on that £50 million figure.

Moreover, Fulham isn't alone in their interest. Wolves, despite their financial constraints, are also eyeing Broja. This interest could potentially spur Fulham into action, but it remains to be seen if they're ready to meet Chelsea's hefty price tag.

Expert Opinions: Weighing in on the Deal
Experts from the "It's All Kicking Off" podcast, Ian Ladyman and Mike Keegan, share their views on this high-stakes negotiation. Ladyman points out the intrinsic value of strikers in the market, suggesting that Chelsea's price tag might be a strategic move to create financial breathing space. Keegan echoes this sentiment, acknowledging the desperation for goals in January but questioning the feasibility of Fulham meeting Chelsea's demand.

Fulham submit offer for £50m-rated Chelsea star - with one key condition omitted
The latest transfer speculation from Fulham and Chelsea as the January transfer window reaches its final 24 hours.

Fulham have reportedly made a firm move to strengthen their striker options by lodging a bid to take Chelsea striker Armando Broja on loan for the rest of the season.

The Blues frontman has scored two goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season as he continues his comeback from a serious cruciate ligament injury - although only eight have come as part of Mauricio Pochettino's starting eleven.

Speaking recently about Broja's future, the Blues boss said: "All the biggest strikers needed time when they were young. They need to find their own balance. But I still believe that he has the potential to be an amazing striker. The process takes time. I always compare it to Harry Kane. He went on loan to Leyton Orient, Norwich and spent time finding his real balance.

"In our first six months, he started to perform only in December and January, and that's when we started to see his real potential. He's a player that suffered a big injury last season, he needs to put that big idea behind him, always that is difficult. And we are at Chelsea, he is trying to deliver while compared with the biggest strikers like Drogba, Hasselbaink or others. That's always difficult for a young guy."

Despite receiving the backing of his current manager, Chelsea are believed to be willing to allow Broja to depart Stamford Bridge before Thursday night's transfer deadline and there has been significant interest in a loan deal from a number of Premier League rivals after a reported £50m asking price cooled interest in any possible permanent switch.

Wolves are said to be the first to show their hand and were reportedly unsuccessful with an initial loan bid over the weekend. The Molineux outfit have now turned their focus towards a loan deal for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, who looks increasingly likely to arrive ahead of the deadline. That could clear the way for Fulham to complete a raid on their West London rivals and hand Broja an opportunity to earn regular first-team football over the remainder of the season after a hamstring injury suffered by Raul Jimenez further depleted their options at the top end of the pitch.

Fulham Star Assessing Options To Leave Club
Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius is considering his future at Craven Cottage amidst interest from Germany and Spain, according to The Athletic.

The west London club are looking to bring in a striker on the last day of the transfer window as part of their plans.

Fulham are weighing up a late swoop for Chelsea's Armando Broja, who the Blues are open to selling towards the end of the window.

The Cottagers would also be keen to move on a striker if they sign the Albanian and Vinicius is the player who could leave.

The striker has attracted the interest of Augsburg and Real Betis in the final days of the transfer window.

Vinicius is assessing his options and is considering moving on from Craven Cottage ahead of Thursday night's deadline.

The move is still dependent on Fulham getting Broja or another striker in the next 24 hours.

However, with clubs in Germany and Spain interested in him, Vinicius is considering his options.

Fulham launch stunning late bid to sign two West Ham targets Armando Broja and Rayan Cherki
Fulham have launched a stunning late bid to sign two West Ham targets in the shape of Armando Broja and Rayan Cherki.

West Ham are struggling to make the two attacking signings they desperately want before the January transfer window closes in just over 24 hours.

But Fulham could show the Hammers up by not only managing just that, but signing two players long linked with moves to West Ham to boot.

Marco Silva has put together a decent side at Craven Cottage – as was evident when they thumped West Ham 5-0 in the not-too-distant past.

Fulham bid to sign two West Ham targets
Now the Portuguese wants to make further improvements before Thursday night's 11pm deadline.

Because Fulham have launched a stunning late bid to sign two West Ham targets in Armando Broja and Rayan Cherki.

Last month TEAMtalk reported that the Hammers were lining up a move to sign Cherki from Lyon.

Not only that but West Ham were said to be leading the race for his signature.

Silva wants Broja and Cherki
And last Friday West Ham were said to remain interested in big David Moyes favourite Broja after Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino admitted he could leave on loan.

Both players could end up moving to west rather than east London, though, it seems.

The likes of The Sun claim Fulham are pushing hard to sign Broja from neighbours Chelsea in a loan deal with an option to buy.

A penny for Moyes' thoughts
The report states Chelsea have even been forced to slash Broja's valuation to try and get a deal done as they look to stay within FFP parameters.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Fulham are also ready to make a move to sign alleged West Ham target Cherki from Lyon before the window closes.

It has been claimed that a £35 million bid is being prepared in an effort to bring the player to Craven Cottage.

A penny for Moyes' thoughts.

Fulham reject loan offers for Vinicius
Fulham have rejected loan interest in striker Carlos Vinicius and told the Brazilian's suitors that they will only countenance his departure if they submit permanent offers of at least £9m.

Atlético Mineiro and Augsburg tabled loan approaches earlier this afternoon with the former Benfica centre forward himself keen on a loan move away from Craven Cottage until the summer having fallen out of favour with head coach Marco Silva earlier this season. The 28 year-old is also on the shortlist of Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla and Valencia in La Liga and Sao Paulo in his homeland and fears that Fulham's asking price will scupper his chances of moving on during this window.

Vinicius, who has scored eight goals in 48 games for Fulham, has slipped behind compatriot Rodrigo Muniz with his compatriot available for selection after he suffered a knee problem. Silva is set to keep hold of Muniz and try to sell Vinicius as he seeks to bring in another striker with Chelsea's Armando Broja his number one choice at present.

Fulham set to ramp up talks to sign Armando Broja

Fulham to push hard for the services of 22-year-old Aston Villa target Armando Broja following the injury to Raul Jimenez.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Fulham are keen on reinforcing their attack before the end of the ongoing transfer window and they have their eyes set on Armando Broja. The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge but that hasn't happened yet. However, with Fulham all set to step up their interest, things could take a turn on deadline day.

Broja came up the ranks at Chelsea and made it to their first team in the summer of 2022. But, things haven't gone according to plan for him since making it to their first team. He was injured for the majority of last season. While he has been fit in this time around, he hasn't had enough first-team minutes.

The 22-year-old has failed to cement his spot in Mauricio Pochettino's starting XI. As a result, he has been linked with a move away from the club and the Chelsea boss is happy to let the Albanian international leave amidst interest from Fulham and Aston Villa.

Villa have been on a dominant run and they need attacking reinforcement to ensure they finish inside the top four. Broja seems to be an appealing option to Emery's team. But, it seems the Cottagers are the ones who are leading the race at this stage. They previously submitted a loan offer with a buy option. But, that offer was rejected by the Blues.

Fulham are looking to once again make a move for the services of Broja. The Cottagers want to reinforce their attack and ensure they have enough firepower up top following the injury to Raul Jimenez. As a result, they have been holding talks with Chelsea over the last 24 hours as they look to strike a deal before the end of the window.

While the Blues are ready to let him leave, they are not looking for a straightforward loan move. The London club are seeking a loan move with an obligation to buy with a starting price of £35 million.

The Cottagers will have to commit to a £35m fee to sign Broja before the end of the window. If they manage to get this deal over the line, the 22-year-old will become their club record signing.

Hicks leaves PFA role
Former Fulham centre back Jim Hicks has abruptly resigned as executive head of coaching at the Professional Footballers' Association, according to the Daily Mail.

Hicks had raised concerns about the direction of the PFA under new chief executive Maheta Molango internally but his decision to step down from the role he had held for sixteen years is still a surprise. The 63 year-old is a massive champion of women's football, having spent fifteen years in charge of Millwall Lionesses before joining the players' union, and is understood to have been disappointed by Molango's corporate approach that risks diluting the PFA's historical pastoral role for their members.

Hicks, who played 46 games for the Whites in three injury-hit seasons in the 1980s, already has a number of offers to work in the women's game having led the Lionesses to a historic Cup double in 1997. He oversaw the development of England internationals Mary Philip and Katie Chapman, who later turned professional at Fulham, at Millwall.

Fulham eyeing Jonas Wind swoop

Fulham are eyeing a late move for Jonas Wind, although Wolfsburg's massive €50 million asking price might put off the Cottagers.
According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, Jonas Wind emerged as a late target for Fulham, who have been keen on signing a new forward this winter. The Danish attacker is reportedly valued at €50 million by Wolfsburg in this window, which might ward off the Cottagers' interest.

Fulham eyeing Jonas Wind?
Marco Silva might have stressed the need to bring in a new striker in January and has indeed looked at several options, even before the winter market opened. Fulham had been linked with Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez for long periods, but the Mexican may have a bigger club on his mind.

The need to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic has been all too relevant in the ensuing months since his departure from Saudi Arabia. They might have set sights on Danish striker Jonas Wind, with the Wolfsburg star having a good season in the Bundesliga.

Wind has scored ten goals and assisted six times across all competitions, making him one of the most lethal attackers in Germany. While interest in the player has been minimal despite his impressive numbers, Wolfsburg are not eager to entertain late offers.

As per the report, the Bundesliga side are demanding €50 million to sell Wind this month, which could put off Fulham from the chase. Hence, even if the Cottagers hold interest, they might back off for the time being and possibly return in the summer when they can potentially negotiate a lower fee for the Danish star.

Fulham keen on a new attacker
The Cottagers are desperate to bring in a new attacker with goalscoring prowess. They have seen links to Plymouth's Morgan Whittaker, who could potentially become available for a cheap fee. The Championship side might even look to make a healthy profit on their record-breaking investment if some of the interested Premier League sides come through with their approach.

Then there are links to Armando Broja, with reports suggesting Fulham have already tabled a loan bid for the Albanian. The decision will have to be Chelsea's, who might feel short in the No.9 role if they let their homegrown star leave.

Brentford, Fulham 'quoted £15m for Morgan Whittaker'
Brentford and Fulham have reportedly been told they will have to pay £15m to sign Plymouth Argyle winger Morgan Whittaker.

After spending time on loan with Plymouth last season, Whittaker returned to the club on a permanent basis in the summer, completing a move from Swansea for a reported £1m plus add-ons.

Whittaker has proven to be one of the standout players for the Pilgrims, having scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 31 competitive appearances this season.

With 15 of those goals taking place in the Championship, he is currently the league's second-highest scorer and just one strike away from the tally of Blackburn Rovers attacker Sammie Szmodics.

Although Whittaker may have a contract until June 2027, Plymouth have already had to fend off a bid from Serie A giants Lazio.

The 23-year-old is also attracting interest from Brentford and Fulham, who sent scouts to watch him in action in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leeds United in the FA Cup.

According to Football Insider, the two Premier League clubs will have to meet Plymouth's £15m asking price if they want to sign Whittaker before Thursday's transfer deadline.

The report claims that the two London sides could make a late bid to prise Whittaker away from home park in the closing stages of the winter window.

Despite setting out their financial demands, Plymouth are still reluctant to part ways with one of their prized assets in the middle of the season.

While it remains to be seen whether Brentford pursue a deal, Thomas Frank's side have already experienced a relatively busy transfer window.

The Bees have recruited Yunus Emre Konak, Sergio Reguilon and Hakon Valdimarsson, while they looked set to sign Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa before an issue with the medical placed put the transfer in doubt.

In contrast to their West London neighbours, Fulham are yet to delve into the transfer market this month, but they continue to be linked with a move for Chelsea forward Armando Broja.

Fulham look to sign Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki... with the clubs discussing a deal worth £30m to bring the highly-rated French youth international to Craven Cottage ahead of deadline day

Fulham have approached Lyon in bid to sign attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki
The 20-year-old has made over 100 Ligue 1 appearances since debuting in 2019

Fulham have made an approach to Lyon over their highly-rated attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki.

At just 20-years-old Cherki has already made more than 100 senior appearances in all competitions since graduating from the Ligue 1 side's youth academy in 2019.

Cherki played an integral role last season as Lyon recovered from a dismal spell before the winter break for the 2022 World Cup to eventually finish seventh in the French top flight.

The France youth international has long courted attention from Premier League teams and was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer as a potential replacement for Christian Pulisic at Stamford Bridge.

Despite Cherki's contributions Lyon have struggled this season, with the former giants of French football floundering in the relegation zone having already had three separate managers.

Fulham are preparing a move to sign 20-year-old attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki from Lyon

The Lyon academy graduate has 11 goals in 19 appearances for France under 21s

A deal could be completed for £30m as Lyon look to complete a Premier League double swoop

Amid the club's ongoing troubles on the pitch Cherki could be sacrificed for £30m while interim boss Pierre Sage pushes to sign Orel Mangala from Nottingham Forest and Said Benrahma from West Ham.

Lyon agreed fees with both clubs on Wednesday but Benrahma wanted more time to consider the move as he discussed personal terms while Mangala, who was in a hotel in Germany, was waiting for a contract issue with Forest to be resolved first.

Benrahma has spent four years in East London after initially arriving at the club on loan from Brentford  in October 2020.

The Algerian international netted in the Hammers' Europa Conference League final win over Fiorentina back in July but has been limited to just five Premier League starts at the London Stadium this season.

Fulham Have Not Made Concrete Offer For Ligue 1 Midfielder
Fulham have not made a concrete offer for Lyon's Rayan Cherki, who is also not keen on a transfer in the winter transfer window.

The Cottagers have been heavily linked with a move for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder in the final days of the transfer window.

There are suggestions that Fulham have tabled a big offer to convince Cherki to move to Craven Cottage ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.

However, it has been claimed that a move is not likely to happen on the final day of the transfer window.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Fulham are yet to put in a concrete bid to try and sign the midfielder.

The Cottagers are interested but they have not made any move to try and land the midfielder.

Cherki is also not interested in leaving the French giants in the middle of the season despite rumoured interest from England.

It remains to be seen whether any moves will be made in the coming hours to change the status quo.
