Strange old game.

Just watched highlights and it shows that little things change games. Pereira's corner was met perfectly by William, cannoned off the defence, they break away and score.  If to everyone's chagrin William had skied the attempt into the stands we probably would have won comfortably.

I must say, why is MS allowing his defenders to go up for a corner so late in the game, I'm not saying that they definitely would not have scored, but it did give them a lot of space to run into.

Sadly she wasn't

Both goals were down to there good breakaways down our open right flank which we left open. In fact they benefited from our corner. The blame was not to Tete or Ream on the goal line but to leaving space for the breakaways.

For me the mistake was made by Marco in not playing both Tete and Castagne and not leaving out BDR.We would have been better prepared for counter attacks.
The other thing is that I certainly notice the absence of a senior pro who would read out the Riot Act when required to do so. There are plenty of seniors, too many in fact, but no-one with gravitas. While some still yearn for Mitro I yearn for Danny Murphy.

The problem is we aren't street smart - one the first goal somebody should have just made the tactical foul early. Take the yellow, stop the break and the goal doesn't happen.

No Tete was def to blame, how did he not get his foot on that ball, I thought it was a strange substitution putting him on so late in the game, pointless

I said to the lads i was with at Turf Moor yesterday,.
during the first half
They had one dangerous player the left winger .
Bit of pace and always looking  to take a player on.
Stop him and we win this .
Laid on the two goals with his pace .
Surely the manager and his team can see this .
