Liverpool 'still interested in Fulham's Antonee Robinson'
Liverpool are reportedly interested in the signing of Fulham defender Antonee Robinson during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The USA international has started all but one of the Cottagers' Premier League matches so far in 2023-24, providing four assists from left-back.

Robinson leads the way for interceptions among top-flight players in England, with the 26-year-old managing 58 to date - 18 more than Everton centre-back James Tarkowski.

Since making the switch from Wigan Athletic to Craven Cottage in August 2020, the defender has appeared 136 times for the West London side in all competitions, scoring on three occasions.

According to Football Insider, title-chasers Liverpool are still eyeing up a move for Robinson ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, when the club's new era without Jurgen Klopp will commence.

The report claims that the Reds have been impressed by the defender's underlying statistics, with the American among the best players in the Premier League in terms of progressive passes and runs.

Liverpool were said to have enquired about the services of Robinson ahead of the January transfer window, however it was later suggested that the Reds did not push for his signature.

Klopp's options on the left side of defence have been limited for the majority of the current season, with Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas both enduring spells on the sidelines.

First-choice left-back Robertson suffered a serious shoulder injury in October and was subsequently out of action for four months, however the 29-year-old has now featured in three-straight matches as he regains match fitness.

Natural centre-back Joe Gomez was often deployed in a full-back role in the absence of Robertson and Tsimikas, although the 11-time international was unable to bag his first professional goal despite finding himself in advanced areas more regularly.

Robinson put pen to paper on fresh terms at Craven Cottage ahead of the current term, committing his future to Fulham until the summer of 2028.

Liverpool knocked the Cottagers out of the EFL Cup at the semi-final stage last month, meaning that the Reds could still achieve a quartet of major honours.

The Merseysiders remain top of the Premier League standings despite losing 3-1 at title hopefuls Arsenal on Sunday afternoon - the Reds' first domestic defeat since late September.

Craven Cottage Clash: Fulham vs Bournemouth

Premier League Showdown: Fulham vs Bournemouth at Craven Cottage
Clash of Mid-Table Titans: Fulham and Bournemouth Eye Top Half

Craven Cottage sets the stage for an intriguing Premier League encounter this weekend, as Fulham host Bournemouth in a battle that could reshape the mid-table dynamics. Both squads, with aspirations of breaking into the top half, are separated by a mere three points and one spot on the table. Fulham, currently 13th, saw Bournemouth leapfrog them following a recent win against Nottingham Forest.

Bournemouth's Rise Under Iraola's Guidance
Bournemouth, under the astute leadership of Andoni Iraola, has risen like a phoenix this season. An early struggle gave way to a remarkable resurgence, with six victories in seven games during the winter months. The Cherries now set their sights higher up the table, moving away from the relegation zone's shadow.

Fulham's Quest for Consistency
In contrast, Fulham's recent form hasn't dented their league standing significantly. Marco Silva's team remains hopeful of climbing the table. A win could propel them past Bournemouth, eyeing teams like Newcastle and Wolves. However, a defeat might mean glancing nervously at those creeping up behind them.

Spotlight on Strikers: Broja and Solanke
Fulham's loan signing, Armando Broja, joined from Chelsea, tasked with bolstering the attack and easing the burden on the recovering Raul Jimenez. Despite scoring only once this season, Broja is expected to ramp up his goal tally. For Bournemouth, Dominic Solanke's sensational form, with 13 goals and a Player of the Month accolade, has been vital. Their reliance on him is evident, with the team's overall goal tally leaning heavily on his contributions.

Historical Head-to-Head: Bournemouth's Dominance
The history between these two teams, stretching back to their first Championship encounter in 2014, favours Bournemouth. The Cherries have emerged victorious in five of nine meetings, including a memorable 5-1 thrashing at Craven Cottage. Fulham's solitary win came in 2019, courtesy of an Aleksandar Mitrovic penalty.

Team News and Recent Forms
As both teams prepare for this crucial fixture, they face varying challenges. Fulham, missing several key players through injuries and international duties, needs to bounce back from a series of draws and losses. Bournemouth, despite a mixed bag of recent results, will miss key players like Max Aarons and Tyler Adams.

Prediction
The Cherries are the side in better form, and with that in mind I'll go with a 2-1 Bournemouth win.

West Ham United now favourites to sign Tosin Adarabioyo as Fulham contract development emerges
West Ham are now favourites to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, according to Daily Mirror.

The newspaper shared in its print edition (8 February, page 52) that the Hammers have emerged as the favourites to sign him after reports in Italy shared that AC Milan and Tottenham were also in the race.

The 26-year-old, who scored in Fulham's 5-0 win against the East Londoners in December, is said to be refusing to sign a new deal to extend his stay at Craven Cottage with his latest deal running till June which means clubs can open talks to seal his services ahead of a move this summer.

However, Milan and Spurs are still keen on signing him with an exit expected at the end of the season.

Tim Steidten must move fast to seal signature at London Stadium
The West Ham defence will need a major rejig in the summer with several of Moyes' key stars facing uncertain futures at the club when the season draws to a close.

Angelo Ogbonna and Nayef Aguerd could yet leave the club this summer which means the Hammers must be identifying potential targets right now and Adarabioyo has emerged as an astute and potentially cost-effective option.

With the 26-year-old defender now surely set to leave Fulham with his contract ending, West Ham can look to seal his signature right now and given the teams interested in the player's services, technical director Tim Steidten and David Moyes must make their move now.

The Fulham defender has exerted tremendous qualities that are sure to have a number of Europe's elite clamouring for his signature.

Despite his limited minutes under Marco Silva this season, he's mightily impressed when given the opportunity. In their recent EFL Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool, Adarabioyo was at his brilliant best up against Darwin Nunez and co.

Adarabioyo certainly knows how to mix it with the best teams on the land and he certainly won't be out of place were he to make the move to East London. He is a no-brainer addition to Moyes' squad this summer.

Report: West Ham have ex Man City man Tosin Adarabioyo lined up as first summer signing
A new report claims West Ham have ex Man City man Tosin Adarabioyo lined up as their first signing of the summer window.

It is clear West Ham need to sign at least one new centre-back in the summer.

Thilo Kehrer has left, Angelo Ogbonna is in the twilight of his Hammers career, Kurt Zouma has longstanding knee issues which prevent him playing games close together and there are doubts over Nayef Aguerd's consistency and future.

West Ham were linked with a host of centre-backs in the January window including Trevoh Chalobah.

David Moyes and technical director Tim Steidten are well aware they must look to try and bring in players who meet homegrown player status rules.

West Ham have Adarabioyo lined up as first summer signing
Well according to a new report they have someone in mind when the next window opens.

Because West Ham have ex Man City man Tosin Adarabioyo lined up as their first summer signing.

That's according to Italian website CalcioMercato.

The report claims West Ham are battling AC Milan to sign the Fulham defender, who came through the ranks at Manchester City.

But even the top Italian clubs simply cannot compete with Premier League sides when it comes to the finances on offer.

Adarabioyo is one of the top-rated defenders in the top flight over the last few seasons.

Hammers competing with Milan
And he will be available on a free transfer, making him an even more attractive proposition.

They say there is no smoke without fire and this is not the first time the Hammers have been linked with the 6ft 5in 26-year-old Adarabioyo.

90min recently claimed the Hammers want to sign Fulham defender Adarabioyo, who was also linked with a move from west to east London in the summer.

He was also said to be on the radar of Bayern Munich. But they signed Eric Dier instead.

Competition is sure to be fierce given his refusal to sign a new deal with Fulham.

But if West Ham can secure European football again then it might make luring him across the capital a touch easier.

Fulham's Robinson Shines in Stat Analysis

Liverpool's Pursuit of Antonee Robinson: A Strategic Move for Anfield Glory
Liverpool Eyes Fulham's Defensive Dynamo

In an exciting turn of events, Liverpool FC is reportedly intensifying efforts to secure the services of Fulham's exceptional full-back, Antonee Robinson. This development, initially brought to light by Rob McCarthy in TEAMtalk, underscores Liverpool's strategic ambition to bolster their defence with a player whose performances have captivated many, including Anfield scouts. Robinson, with his outstanding Premier League-leading stat in interceptions, emerges as a formidable talent capable of elevating Liverpool's defensive prowess.

Remarkable Stats Signal Premier League's Best
Robinson's statistics this season are nothing short of spectacular, setting him apart as a defensive maestro in England's top flight. With a leading 58 interceptions, an astounding 18 more than his nearest competitor, Robinson showcases his defensive acumen and readiness to disrupt opposition play. His proficiency isn't limited to defence alone; he excels in progressive carries, successful take-ons, and progressive passes, marking him as one of the Premier League's most versatile full-backs.

Addressing Liverpool's Defensive Concerns
Liverpool's interest in Robinson isn't without reason. The club has faced challenges with Andrew Robertson's injury woes, which have sidelined him for a significant part of the season. Although Robertson has recently made a comeback, Liverpool's pursuit of Robinson indicates a desire to ensure depth and competition within the squad. Given Robertson's injury history and his age approaching 30, Robinson, with his impressive stats and consistent performances, appears as a prudent choice for Liverpool's long-term defensive strategy.

An Astute Acquisition in the Making
Robinson's journey from Wigan to Fulham for a mere £2million in 2020, and his subsequent performance, highlights a player whose value far exceeds the initial investment. With Liverpool potentially securing his signature, they not only acquire a defender with proven Premier League experience but also someone who could offer a fresh dynamism to their defensive lineup. His contract extension until June 2028 with Fulham indicates his commitment and value, yet Liverpool's interest could see this promising talent take on new challenges at Anfield.

In summary, Liverpool's move for Antonee Robinson reflects a well-thought-out strategy to strengthen their defence with a player of exceptional quality and remarkable statistics. As highlighted by Rob McCarthy, Robinson's potential transfer could be a game-changer for the Reds, offering both defensive solidity and a new dimension to their attacking plays. With the summer transfer window approaching, all eyes will be on Liverpool and Robinson, as this deal could signify a pivotal moment in the club's quest for domestic and European success.

Statistical Analysis by EPL Index: Antonee Robinson's Season in Numbers
Antonee Robinson Dominates Defensive Metrics

When delving into the performance data of Fulham's Antonee Robinson, one cannot help but be impressed. The stats provided by Fbref paint a picture of a player who is not just fulfilling his role but excelling beyond the norm. Robinson's percentile rank in interceptions stands out immensely at 99, placing him at the pinnacle among full-backs over the last 365 days in the Premier League.

Attacking Contributions Reflect Versatility
Robinson's influence isn't confined to defensive duties. His performance data for the attacking aspects of his game shows commendable versatility. With assists in the 83rd percentile, he demonstrates a keen eye for creating opportunities. Furthermore, his stats for non-penalty expected goals (npXG) and expected assisted goals (xAG) highlight an offensive threat that complements his defensive solidity.

Possession Play and Progressive Metrics
In terms of possession play, Robinson's stats show he is comfortable on the ball, with successful take-ons in the 80th percentile and progressive carries at an impressive 86. Such figures illustrate his ability to drive the ball forward, transitioning from defence to attack with fluidity and purpose. His progressive passes received statistic also confirms his teammates' trust in his ability to maintain the flow of play and push the team forward.

In conclusion, Antonee Robinson's performance data and stats reveal a player at the top of his game. His defensive metrics are outstanding, but it's his balanced contribution to both ends of the pitch that makes him a complete full-back. As he continues to rise, his performance data will undoubtedly become even more critical for analysts and fans alike, who rely on such comprehensive stats to gauge a player's impact on the pitch.

Jimenez absence further depletes Fulham – with unavailability of Nigerian internationals already keenly felt
Fulham will be without Raul Jimenez for Saturday's Premier League home game against AFC Bournemouth.

The Mexican international is expected to be out for around a month with the hamstring injury he suffered against Everton last week at Craven Cottage.

Armando Broja could be in line for his first start since his loan move from Chelsea after coming on for the closing stages of Fulham's 2-2 draw at Burnley.

Rodrigo Muniz led the attack at Turf Moor and scored his first Premier League goal.

Joao Palhinha put Fulham ahead as they led 2-0 going into the final 20 minutes – only for a double from David Datro Fofana to deny them maximum points. Marco Silva's side have not won in three Premier League matches.

The absence of summer signing Alex Iwobi has been keenly felt with the former Everton man away on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Nigeria – with Calvin Bassey, snapped up in the same window from Ajax, also in action for them.

"The first goal we conceded gave them a boost, the crowd as well," said Silva, reflecting on the Burnley match. "As a team we were naive in that moment, and were punished.

"We were fresh enough on the pitch – it is just we don't keep focus and are naive in some moments. These are details that will punish us hard this season.

"It's a really difficult one to take. It's not the first time this has happened. Overall our perfomance in 2-1 was at a very good level, everyone felt another goal was coming for us."

Fulham have been linked with a fresh attempt to sign Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki in the summer.

Media reports claimed the Whites failed with a £35million move for the 20-year-old, previously linked with Chelsea, at the end of the January transfer window.

It looked as though the Super Eagles were destined for the Final inside of 90 minutes but a penalty was awarded the other way to South Africa, which was dispatched by Teboho Mokoena.

After a period of extra-time, a dramatic penalty shootout ensued in which Nigeria came out 4-2 winners; Kelechi Iheanacho the taker who delivered the final blow.

Preview: Fulham vs. Bournemouth - prediction, team news, lineups
Both seeking their first Premier League maximum of 2024, Fulham welcome Bournemouth to their Craven Cottage base on Saturday afternoon.

Marco Silva's men threw away a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw with relegation-threatened Burnley last weekend, while the Cherries were also pegged back in a 1-1 stalemate with Nottingham Forest.

Match preview
Still without a Premier League victory since the turn of the year, Fulham were only 20 minutes away from clinching their maiden top-flight success of 2024 last weekend, where Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Muniz propelled the Cottagers into a two-goal lead at Turf Moor.

Burnley were seemingly condemned to an all-too familiar home defeat, but an inspired substitution from Vincent Kompany saw Chelsea-owned David Datro Fofana bag a brace in the final 20 minutes, and while he may not have known much about his second goal on the day, it did not diminish the importance of the strike.

Since a slender 1-0 beating of Rotherham United in the FA Cup, Fulham's efforts to pick up another victory have seen Silva's men play out a trio of draws and suffer a trio of defeats, and their 13th-placed position in the rankings could become more precarious without an immediate upturn in fortunes.

Only seven points separate the Cottagers from 18th-placed Everton in the drop zone, although by netting twice against the Clarets last weekend, Fulham matched their goalscoring tally from their previous six league fixtures, where Arsenal were the only team that they did not draw a blank against.

Furthermore, nineteen of Fulham's 26 points in the 2023-24 Premier League season have been won at Craven Cottage, where they have taken 14 from the last 18 on offer, and Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth powers may be waning slightly.

As is the case with their upcoming hosts, Bournemouth have not revelled in a Premier League triumph since the end of 2023, and the Cherries' winless run in the top flight stretched to four games during the visit of Nottingham Forest to the Vitality Stadium last weekend.

Akin to their previous stalemate with West Ham United on February 1, the Cherries drew first blood early doors as Justin Kluivert poked home at the back stick from a corner, but a sublime curler from Callum Hudson-Odoi - who was then the victim of a red card-worthy challenge from Philip Billing - saw the Reds head home with a slice of the spoils.

A nervy final 15 minutes were in store for the home crowd when Billing was given his marching orders, but neither side's performance truly merited a three-point haul, and Bournemouth's previous festive joy has slowly evaporated on account of taking just two points from the last 12 on offer.

From winning six games out of seven between November 11 and Boxing Day, a four-game sequence without a triumph has seen Bournemouth's purple patch well and truly wear off, and the Cherries sit just one place and one point above Fulham in 12th spot, albeit with a match in hand.

Finding the net in 10 of their 11 Premier League away games this season is one confidence-boosting statistic for the Cherries to boast, and the visitors have also come up trumps in both of their last two contests with Fulham, whose most recent win against Bournemouth came in April 2019 thanks to an Aleksandar Mitrovic spot kick.

Team News
Fulham welcomed defender Fode Ballo-Toure back to the matchday squad at Turf Moor, but Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina remain on Africa Cup of Nations duty as Nigeria square off with Ivory Coast in this weekend's tantalising final.

Neither Raul Jimenez (thigh) nor Harry Wilson (shoulder) will be returning for another couple of weeks yet, and Saturday's game is also expected to come too soon for Issa Diop (hamstring), but Adama Traore may finally make his long-awaited comeback from a similar issue.

With Fulham producing the goods for 70 minutes of their clash with Burnley, Silva may see no reason to tinker with his starting XI too much, and Muniz's first-half strike could be enough to keep Chelsea-owned Armando Broja waiting for his full debut.

Fulham were not the only side to add to their attacking ranks on deadline day, as Bournemouth poached Enes Unal on loan from Getafe, but the Turkey international's Visa did not arrive in time for him to make his debut against Nottingham Forest.

However, Unal has now touched down in England and is expected to be available this weekend, which is more than can be said for the suspended Billing, but Iraola confirmed that Antoine Semenyo's half-time substitution last weekend was tactical in nature.

Ryan Christie should also be good to go again despite being forced off with a dead leg in that draw, but James Hill (ankle), Tyler Adams (thigh), Ryan Fredericks (calf), Max Aarons (thigh) and Darren Randolph (illness) remain out of contention.

Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Ream, Robinson; Palhinha, Cairney; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian; Muniz

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:
Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kelly; Scott, Cook; Tavernier, Kluivert, Sinisterra; Solanke

We say: Fulham 2-1 Bournemouth
No team has failed to score in as many as Fulham's 10 Premier League matches this season, but in each of the last six games where Silva's men have made the net bulge, they have struck multiple goals in all of them.

Such a streak should continue at a ground where they have come good more often than not in recent weeks, and with Bournemouth losing their golden touch under Iraola, it is the Cottagers who should be celebrating their maiden Premier League success of 2024 and their first beating of the Cherries in almost five years.

Palhinha: Go With Everything
João Palhinha dissected Fulham's 2024 so far when he sat down with Premier League Productions ahead of our game against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Despite positive performances on the pitch, results haven't been going our way, which is something acknowledged by João when asked about the opening month to the new year.

"I think the results was not what we wished," he started. "I think we have been playing well.

"We are controlling most parts of the game that we have played but unfortunately the results haven't appeared, but I think it will change.

"The team is playing better, playing good football. The only thing missing is scoring goals, but we are ready to go again this weekend against Bournemouth and hopefully with a victory which is really important for us."

Our midfield enforcer added to his goal tally in the last match round, taking his total to three Premier League goals this season, which is equal to the total tally he achieved last season.

"It's not something that I'm really focused on," João added. "Of course, when you score a goal, it makes you really happy.

"I could have more goals than I have now because I've had some chances, especially on set pieces.

"Hopefully I score more goals for the rest of the season but if I could swap these goals for victories then I would change it for sure."

Unfortunately, João's goal could only contribute to a draw against Burnley after David Datro Fofana's double saw the points shared at Turf Moor. With some time having past since Saturday, João was able to reflect on the day.

"The game against Burnley, I feel especially frustrated because after the match we felt like we controlled the most part of the game," he said.

"The game changed when they scored and they started to grow on the game.

"It's something we need to control; the emotional balance. The clean sheet is important for us.

"We know that if we don't concede goals, we will be a really tough team to beat."

Looking ahead to this Saturday, the Portuguese star anticipates a difficult game against Bournemouth but hopes to turn recent form around.

"We know that they are a nice team who play really nice football," was João's assessment. "We need to go with everything that we have.

"We play at home which is always special for us, for me and my teammates and for the fans, and hopefully with their support, we can get a victory and that's the only thing I'm focused on."

Armando Broja need only ask Dominic Solanke – there is life after Chelsea
Dominic Solanke knew a different Chelsea to Armando Broja. When Solanke made his solitary appearance for the club as a late substitute in a routine win over Maribor in the Champions League in 2014, it was not seen as the start of a youth revolution. José Mourinho was the manager, Diego Costa led the attack and a team that would go on to win the Premier League title was full of hardened, experienced players.

It made breaking through difficult. Roman Abramovich was building one of the finest academies in the world but Solanke did not stay. Frustrated by a lack of opportunities, the striker turned down the offer of a new deal and was 19 when he left for Liverpool in 2017, 18 months before Chelsea were hit with a transfer ban that would make it much easier for Frank Lampard to lean on the Cobham production line and bring Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Reece James into the first team.

Since then, of course, there has been even more change. Although five academy players were involved when Chelsea won the Champions League three years ago, the dynamic has shifted since Abramovich sold the club to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022. When it comes to Broja's future, pathways are not the only consideration. The 22-year-old's story, while similar to Solanke's, is more complicated and has been influenced by financial fair play realities. It is not as simple as Chelsea, who loaned Broja to Fulham last week, once again failing to find room for a promising young forward.

Broja, who will face Solanke when Fulham host Bournemouth on Saturday, has had opportunities. Whether he has taken them is up for debate. Three goals in 38 appearances since his debut in 2020 suggests not, although it should be pointed out that he has had two loan spells during that time and sustained a serious knee injury in December 2022. Perhaps it is not a surprise that the youngster has struggled for confidence and consistency this season. He has not had any stability since regaining fitness.

The riposte may be that Chelsea have been geared towards youth since the Boehly-Clearlake takeover; that if a player isn't performing in this environment then perhaps it's because they simply aren't up to it. Surely it must be Broja's fault that he failed to step up while Christopher Nkunku was injured and Nicolas Jackson was at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Equally it is worth trying to understand why Broja has looked so rigid and downcast. It surely cannot help that a narrative has built around Chelsea regarding the sale of homegrown talents as a way of boosting their FFP position. It must be weird to be at the centre of it. After all, it was not long after Mauricio Pochettino described Broja as one of the best young strikers in Europe at the start of January that stories appeared about the club looking to sell him.

Was a replacement necessary? No. But there was also talk of Chelsea wanting £50m, a demand that soon dropped to £35m before a deal was agreed on deadline day for Broja to join Fulham until the end of the season. There was no obligation or option to buy and hopes for a £5m loan fee had morphed into Fulham potentially paying nothing if Broja starts enough games for them.

Perhaps it will work out. Chelsea will hope that Broja does well enough to lift his value before the summer, when he is due to represent Albania at Euro 2024. Fulham will hope they have a goalscorer. Broja will hope to find some clarity at Craven Cottage.

There is no doubt he is a handful when he is feeling good. He is quick and powerful. He is rough around the edges but he needs time to build his rhythm. This move could work for him. Sometimes it helps to take a step down. There is no better example than Solanke. The England international flopped at Liverpool and he took a while to find his feet after joining Bournemouth for £17m in January 2019. A lot of people were queuing up to write him off after Bournemouth's relegation in 2020.

But hard work pays off. When Solanke's goals helped Bournemouth win promotion in 2022, there was a sense that he would still not be good enough for the Premier League. Respect for the way that he occupied defenders was offset by concerns over a lack of edge in the area. Finishing last season with seven goals seemed to back up the naysayers.

With Andoni Iraola in charge, though, Bournemouth are finally seeing Solanke realise his potential. He has 15 goals this season, has developed into one of the best strikers in the league, is coveted by some big clubs and has a chance of making England's squad for the Euros.

It is a lesson for Broja. His ego may be bruised. The future may look uncertain. But if he looks at Solanke's path he will see that there is a big world outside Chelsea.

Bournemouth New Striker Arrives in UK, Ready For Fulham Clash
Enes Unal, Bournemouth's January deadline-day signing from Getafe, has finally touched down in the UK and joined his new teammates after receiving his visa.

The Turkish international initially joins on loan, with a permanent move set for £14m in the summer.

Missing their recent Nottingham Forest draw due to visa processing, Unal wasted no time integrating into the squad. Having participated in training, he's expected to be included in the matchday squad for Saturday's Premier League clash at Fulham.

Taking over the vacated number 26 shirt previously worn by Gavin Kilkenny, Unal will be looking to provide a different attacking option alongside Dominic Solanke. Manager Andoni Iraola is optimistic about his impact.

Iraola told the Daily Echo: "I think it is going to be a good addition.

"It is someone probably different from Dom (Solanke) especially. He is a proven goalscorer in La Liga. He has been successful there.

"It is true he comes from an ACL, but he has already played some games with Getafe and I am sure he will help us straightaway.

"I also think his mentality and his physicality adapts really well to the Premier League."

Iraola further highlighted Unal's physicality, mentality, and English language skills as assets for adapting to the Premier League. This, combined with his experience at Manchester City as a youngster, suggests a smooth transition for the new striker.

"He also speaks the language, he has had some experience in Manchester City when he was younger and all these things I think will help him in this adaptation process that for sure he will have," he added.

I had the following to say to the Echo about the Unal transfer.

Bournemouth fans will be eager to see Unal take the field against Fulham, hoping his arrival bolsters their attacking options and propels them up the table.

Tom Cairney thinks Fulham teammate is 'the best' player he's ever played with
Fulham captain Tom Cairney says this current teammate is the best player he's ever played with.

Fulham currently boast a first-team brimming with talent. But that's not always been the case, and Cairney perhaps knows that better than anyone.

The Scot joined in 2015 when Fulham were in the Championship, then after three seasons in the second tier, he helped guide the Whites to promotion under Slavisa Jokanovic.

Relegation followed, with an immediate return under Scott Parker and then another immediate relegation.

But Marco Silva then arrived and stormed the Championship, before settling Fulham into the Premier League once and for all.

Silva has transformed the club and Fulham now play host to some top footballers, with one being Willian.

Tom Cairney lauds Willian as 'best player' he's played with
Cairney was a guest on the most recent episode of the Footballer's Football Podcast, and when discussing the 35-year-old Willian, he said:

"What a player. He is the best player I have ever played with by a mile. His touch, his brain, the way he moves the ball, his decision making. I just can't imagine what he was like to play with seven or eight years ago at Chelsea. And in my opinion he doesn't get the recognition he deserves because Hazard was that good in the same team that people don't talk about him in the way they should. Because Hazard was ridiculous but for four or five years Willian was one of the best players in the Premier League and he's 35 now and still stops dead and shifts it and you can't get near it, and he's 35."

The 70-cap Brazilian joined Fulham on a one-year deal ahead of last season, but earned himself a one-year extension after scoring five and assisting five more in 27 Premier League appearances in his first with Fulham.

This time round, Willian has four goals and one assist in 19 league appearances, with Fulham currently sat in 13th place of the table.

Willian signing symbolic of huge rise at Craven Cottage
Fulham have certainly been through some dark times in their modern history. But right now, the club is in a good place, and that's shown by the likes of Willian, Bernd Leno, Timothy Castagne, Joao Palhinha, and now Armando Broja all wanting to come and play at Craven Cottage.

Silva has certainly put Fulham back on the map and whilst this season has been difficult at times, with Fulham far from being out of the woods in the relegation picture, there's certainly a vision for the club, and players like Willian can help achieve that.

Despite his age, like Cairney says, he remains a player with great physical and technical attributes, and he's still finding the back of the net on a fairly regular basis.

If he can continue his form this season then he'll surely come into consideration for a new deal ahead of next season.

Fulham return to action vs Bournemouth this weekend.

Jimenez, Diop, Traore: Fulham injury list and return dates ahead of Premier League clash against Bournemouth
Fulham are also without Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Fode Ballo-Toure due to the African Cup of Nations

Fulham are desperate for a slice of good fortune after drawing 2-2 at Burnley last weekend. A 91st-minute equaliser for the Clarets denied Marco Silva's men their second win in seven league games.

The Cottagers sit 13th in the Premier League - seven points above the drop zone - but being dumped out of both cup competitions also means the season could fade into obscurity. Is it too soon to suggest Fulham have nothing to play for?

As it stands, Silva's side are 10 points behind a potential European place so, unless they hit a relentless run of form, that appears unlikely. Fans may want to settle for an upturn in performances after not having much to shout about in recent weeks.

Getting players back from injury would be the first step in doing exactly that, with the Cottagers nursing several casualties on the treatment table. Here is a list of who should miss the clash against Bournemouth this weekend and when supporters can expect them to return.

Raul Jimenez - Hamstring
Jimenez picked up a hamstring injury during the goalless draw with Everton. He was ruled out for an initial three weeks so is unlikely to feature on Saturday. As the focal point of the attack, Silva needs him back soon. Possible return date: Man United (February 24)

Harry Wilson - Shoulder
Another player who has become vital to making Fulham tick. Silva also expected the midfielder to miss the next "two to three weeks" before the game against Everton. He will play no part this weekend. Possible return date: Man United (February 24)

Issa Diop - Hamstring
Diop, like Jimenez, has picked up a hamstring strain. It is not thought to be serious but he did miss last weekend's game at Burnley. The 27-year-old has endured a frustrating stop-start campaign. Possible return date: Unknown

Adama Traore - Hamstring
Will Fulham fans ever get to see their summer signing? He is yet to start a game wearing Cottagers colours - playing just 17 minutes since August. Silva revealed last week he is training with teammates but is unknown when the winger will return. Possible return date: Unknown

'Bargains to watch out for' – Vulture circles to upset Fulham and Bournemouth in transfer market
Having failed to bolster the centre of their defence this January, AC Milan are having to wait until the summer, when Fulham and Bournemouth players will be on the agenda.

That's according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who cover the plans the Serie A side have in the coming months, which includes potentially sitting down with the agents of players at Craven Cottage and the Vitality Stadium.

The newspaper explain that Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo and Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly are the 'bargains to watch out for' in the coming months for AC Milan.

It's pointed out both play in the Premier League with their respective clubs, but are also set to be free agents in the coming months, as their contracts are running out.

That's why Milan see the Fulham and Bournemouth players as deals that can 'result in economically favourable conditions' for the Serie A side.

The problem for the Italians is that the situations of the two players will also attract 'fierce competition', likely from clubs in England and elsewhere, making it a bit more difficult for them to be signed.

One to keep an eye on.

Hammersmith Bridge to finally reopen for certain vehicles after closure for 10-weeks only
The bridge was closed after micro-fractures were found in its structures

Hammersmith Bridge will temporarily re-open to cyclists from next Tuesday (February 13) for a period of around 10 weeks. The council has installed a new two-way cycle lane on the Grade-II* listed structure, enabling those on bikes to cross without having to dismount. Cargo bikes and e-scooters will also be permitted access, though motorbikes and mopeds have to continue using alternative routes.

Motor vehicles have been unable to use the bridge since 2019, after micro-fractures were identified in its pedestals. It was partially reopened to pedestrians and cyclists in 2021, though since then, repairs have stalled due to disputes over the funding. The Department for Transport (DfT) wants the council and Transport for London (TfL) to pay a third of the bill each, now estimated at £250 million, with the Government to pick up the rest.

Hammersmith and Fulham submitted a business case with the Government last year, which is yet to be approved. The council said it had expected this to be agreed before Christmas, though the DfT said it is still reviewing it to "ensure it is viable and offers value for money for taxpayers".

The temporary cycle lane is being installed after a boat ferrying West Ham football fans towards Fulham FC's Craven Cottage stadium damaged the bridge in December. The council said that stabilisation works had to be paused as a result, and so while it is carrying out repairs, it is taking the opportunity to roll out the cycle lane.

Cllr Sharon Holder, Hammersmith and Fulham Cabinet Member for the Public Realm, said: "Hammersmith Bridge is a major regional transport asset that will cost a massive £250m to repair. This is a national and a London issue with most users of the bridge coming from south London and the A3 corridor. Fixing this historic bridge requires the support of both national and regional Government.

"We are committed to the full re-opening of Hammersmith Bridge to motor vehicles including buses, and we are doing all in our powers to deliver on that commitment. But we are a small local authority, and we must have the financial support of the DfT and Transport for London, as well as an agreement to fund our share via a toll."

On the suggestion it is holding up proceedings due to having not approved the council's business case, a DfT spokesperson said: "This claim is simply not true, we have already given nearly £10m to help restore the bridge and are reviewing the business case to ensure it is viable and offers value for money for taxpayers."

A TfL spokesperson said: "We are supporting the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham in plans to fully reopen Hammersmith Bridge to traffic. The bridge is an important transport link and we continue to raise the reinstatement of bus links across the river in discussions with the Department for Transport and the borough. The borough's business case is currently with the DfT for approval and we will support the borough in progressing their next steps."

Jakub Mamczak, Senior Campaigns Officer at London Cycling Campaign, said: "We massively welcome the new cycle lane across Hammersmith Bridge. This will connect communities on both sides of the bridge. Walking with a cycle isn't possible for some who use their cycle as a mobility aid and can be difficult with cargo cycles. This should be part of a long term solution for the bridge, along with ideas such as using light vehicles to replace buses, rather than opening the bridge to private motor vehicles."

The council has said the last stage of the stabilisation works involve jacking up the four corner pedestals. Following that, it will review e-mobility options for the bridge, such as for transporting the elderly or disabled, subject to a 1.5-tonne weight limit.

World Cup winner turned down Fulham advances in January – Marco Silva's side 'tried to snatch him' from club
Fulham made an attempt to sign Olivier Giroud from AC Milan last month, according to reports from Italy.

It's outlet CalcioMercato.it who today reveals it, bringing a story saying the striker turned down the attempt from the Craven Cottage residents.

It's claimed that while still looking for a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, Fulham went after Giroud and 'tried to snatch him' from Milan.

Marco Silva's side reportedly put on the table a contract which would run until the summer of 2025, and the Frenchman said no.

It's said Giroud turned down the move because he's 'happy in Milan' and is doing his best to lift some trophies with the club.

Featuring for the Italian giants this season, Giroud has 12 goals and nine assists in 27 appearances.

His contract with the Rossoneri expires in the summer, but there's nothing clear about his future, with the website claiming he's open to renewing his deal.

Depending on how things go by then, perhaps Fulham could get another chance to attract him to Craven Cottage.

With the striker having played for Arsenal and Chelsea before, he could maybe take the same path as Willian.

'What a player'... Tom Cairney says player Arsenal once released is absolutely incredible
Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney has now been discussing the ability of a player Arsenal released during the Mikel Arteta era.

It's not been too often that Arteta has failed in the transfer market since replacing Unai Emery as manager.

However, Arteta and his team were forced to make signings with a fairly short-term vision when they first arrived at the end of 2019.

In the Spaniard's first two transfer windows he signed Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares, Willian , Gabriel Magalhaes, Runar Alex Runarsson and Thomas Partey.

Only three of those names still play for the club four or so years later, with perhaps Gabriel being the only name that will still be at the club come the start of the next campaign.

But as the new co-host of the 'Footballer's Football Podcast', Cairney perhaps believed Arsenal let one of those players leave too early.

Cairney was discussing the unbelievable success Willian has had at Fulham this season and last – which must have come as a surprise to Arsenal fans.

The 35-year-old Brazilian had a fairly torrid time with Arsenal, with perhaps his best performance actually coming away at Craven Cottage.

Tom Cairney says former Arsenal player Willian is the best he's ever played with
Cairney didn't necessarily touch on Willian's time at the Emirates, which simply didn't seem like a good fit.

But now back in the Premier League and thriving at 35, Cairney thought Willian didn't always get the recognition he deserved.

Cairney said: "What a player. He is the best player I have ever played with by a mile.

"His touch, his brain, the way he moves the ball, his decision making.

"I just can't imagine what he was like to play with seven or eight years ago at Chelsea.

"And in my opinion he doesn't get the recognition he deserves because Hazard was that good in the same team that people don't talk about him in the way they should.

"Because Hazard was ridiculous but for four or five years Willian was one of the best players in the Premier League and he's 35 now and still stops dead and shifts it and you can't get near it, and he's 35."

Of course, Arsenal fans will be delighted to see Willian doing so well at Fulham these days, just as Tom Cairney clearly is.

The North London faithful retained sympathy for the Brazilian during his troubles, recognising a player who was struggling to live up to past expectations.

However, Willian's Fulham form nowadays should probably raise further questions regarding his failure at Arsenal.

Either way, it's a pleasure to watch him play football now.

That being said, it seems as if a 20-year-old player could now be set for an Arsenal departure after news this week.

Scratching my head over these rumors that teams within the EPL are interested in Adarabioyo.  Is he really that unhappy here at CC?   Just curious.....
