Wales 4-1 Finland

David Brooks won his 28th cap for Wales against Finland
Wales will face Poland for a place at Euro 2024 after beating Finland convincingly in their play-off semi-final in Cardiff.

David Brooks gave the home side the perfect start as he volleyed in on the rebound after Harry Wilson's shot was saved in the third minute.

Finland controlled large spells of the first half and, although Neco Williams doubled Wales' lead with a beautiful curling free-kick, the visitors kept themselves in contention as Teemu Pukki finished calmly shortly before the break.

Brennan Johnson settled any creeping Welsh nerves as he tapped in from Brooks' shot 90 seconds into the second half.

Despite missing chances to add to their lead and having a Ben Davies goal disallowed, Robert Page's men were comfortable winners as substitute Dan James added a late fourth on his 50th cap.

Wales can now turn their attention to Tuesday's play-off final against Poland, again played over one leg at Cardiff City Stadium, for the chance to qualify for a third successive European Championship.

Page cut a remarkably relaxed figure in the build-up to this game - despite the high stakes - though there was still the nagging sense that defeat could bring his position under renewed scrutiny.

Any such thoughts quickly disappeared, however, when Wales flew out of the traps to take an early lead.

Wilson found himself free in the Finnish penalty area and his left-footed strike was saved by Lukas Hradecky but only into the path of Brooks, who volleyed in to raise the roof at Cardiff City Stadium.

That goal was instant vindication for Page, who had raised a few eyebrows by selecting Brooks and benching Kieffer Moore, without whom the front three lacked a natural centre-forward.

In selecting Brooks, Wilson and Johnson, Page wanted to stretch the Finns with a fluid front three yet, despite taking the lead, Wales ceded their early momentum.

Finland controlled possession for long periods and, although their advances into the Welsh box did not yield many clear chances, the visitors were arguably the better side for most of the first half.

The Finns' inability to really test Wales defensively ended up costing them as Page's men doubled their lead against the run of play.

Johnson led a quick counter-attack and was fouled on the edge of the penalty area, giving Wilson the chance to lay the free-kick off to Williams, whose first-time right-footed shot whistled into the top far corner.

Finland responded well as Pukki latched on to Joel Pohjanpalo's flicked pass and coolly rolled the ball beyond Danny Ward in the Wales goal.

If that created a sense of anxiety among the home fans, they were feeling much better about life 90 seconds into the second half.

Wilson swung a free-kick towards the back post, where Ethan Ampadu nodded the ball down to Brooks, who helped it on for Johnson to tap in from close range.

Wales had several chances to add to their lead, with Wilson shooting wide and substitute Moore forcing Hradecky into a save.

Captain Davies thought he had scored Wales' fourth when he headed in from a corner but, after a video assistant referee (VAR) check, the goal was disallowed as Joe Rodon was in an offside position and deemed to have blocked Hradecky.

That did not matter as, seven minutes later, substitute James pinched the ball from a dithering Miro Tenho, ran towards goal and rounded Hradecky before slotting into an empty net.

Wales were able to enjoy themselves at this point, though the celebrations were more restrained than they tend to be on nights like these at Cardiff City Stadium.

Players, staff and supporters all know that Wales' efforts here will count for nothing if they do not beat Poland but, if they are victorious again on Tuesday, this stadium will rock with jubilant celebrations once again.

Fulham 'identify Roma's Leonardo Spinazzola as summer target'

© Reuters
Fulham have reportedly identified Roma defender Leonardo Spinazzola as a potential summer transfer target.

The full-back has spent the last five years in the Italian capital after arriving from Juventus in the summer of 2019.

During his time with the Giallorossi, Spinazzola has made a total of 143 competitive appearances, contributing with seven goals and 21 assists.

However, Spinazzola faces an uncertain future at the Stadio Olimpico, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

According to ASRomaLive.it, Spinazzola's contract situation has piqued the interest of West London club Fulham.

The report claims that the Cottagers have identified the Euro 2020 winner as a transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window.

Fulham boss Marco Silva can call upon USA international Antonee Robinson and AC Milan loanee Fode Ballo-Toure as his current left-back options.

Ballo-Toure is likely to return to his parent club this summer after being restricted to just seven appearances in all competitions.

Robinson has ultimately kept Ballo-Toure out of the squad, having established himself as one of the most highly-rated left-backs in the English top flight.

Despite being a key player in the Fulham side, Robinson could also be on the move this summer, amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.

Should at least one of Ballo-Toure and Robinson depart, Fulham will be on the lookout for a new left-back and Spinazzola could prove to be a cost-effective option for the Premier League side.

The Italy international has seen talks over a new deal put on hold due to the uncertainty surrounding Roma's sporting director position.

Roma are still searching for a new sporting director to replace Tiago Pinto, who left the club at the beginning of February.

As a result, there is currently no one in place to take charge of contract negotiations, leaving Spinazzola edging closer to the exit door ahead of the summer window.

The full-back has featured in 28 competitive matches this season, chipping in with one goal and four assists.

Prem star takes swipe at England trophy drought and claims 'Brazil are always favourites'
Andreas Pereira has been recalled to the Brazil squad for the first time since 2018 and will face Euro 2024 hopefuls England at Wembley, though the midfielder does not fear the Three Lions

Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira brought up England's lack of trophies ahead of their friendly against Brazil (Image: ESPN)

Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira has taken a swipe at England's trophy drought while proclaiming Brazil as "favourites" ahead of Saturday's clash.

The Selecao travelled to London this week to prepare for this weekend's friendly at Wembley against Gareth Southgate's side. Recently-appointed head coach Dorival Junior is hoping his squad of youngsters will give a good account of themselves against the Three Lions, who are ranked third in the world.

Receiving his first call up since 2018 is former Manchester United talent Pereira, who knows plenty about his opponents, having spent the majority of his career in England. And the 28-year-old Brazilian was very confident when asked how to "close the gap" on the hosts.

Pereira cheekily pointed out that Brazil has five World Cups and won the Copa America in 2019, while England last won a major trophy in 1966.

As reported by The Mirror, he said: "About Brazil and England, we don't necessarily feel that there is a big, big gap. The last time Brazil won a tournament was fewer years ago than when England won a tournament.

"We could say there is a gap. But Brazil will always have big, big players and a big team. England as well. I think they have a lot of players that I think the Brazilian fans like. It is more the flair players - players like Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka.

"We respect them and we know it is going to be a tough game but we are ready and we know what we are capable of. We want to win the game. We are Brazil. We always want to win everything."

He added: "Brazil will always be favourites against any team in any era, being the biggest team in the world. We know about England's qualities and they have very good players but we know our qualities and how strong our group is. We're very calm."

A turbulent last 15 months saw manager Tite sacked after losing on penalties to Croatia at the World Cup. He was replaced by youth coach Ramon Menezes, before Fernando Diniz stepped in as interim boss while Brazil tried to lure Carlo Ancelotti away from Real Madrid.

But having failed to land the Italian, Dorival Junior, 61, took over with the difficult task of building a competitive team for this year's Copa America and the 2026 World Cup. Big names like Neymar, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, Casemiro, Alisson Becker, Ederson, and Marquinhos are all out with injuries, while Pereira is reunited with his former Flamengo boss Dorival.

"I think it is very exciting to be here," he said. "It is a big honour to be part of this Brazilian national team, especially in this new beginning. For me to come back after six years to the national team is massive. It is a dream come true. It is a special game for me for sure and my family."

Fulham expect Tosin Adarabioyo to move after source's Liverpool reveal
Fulham are set to find it hard to convince Tosin Adarabioyo to sign a new deal at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old is set to become a free agent in June when his current contract at Craven Cottage is set to expire.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (18 March) that Liverpool and Tottenham are keen on a potential free transfer move for the centre-back this summer.

Ligue 1 side Monaco and several Italian Serie A sides are also keen on the ex-Man City star.

Fulham are pushing hard to convince Adarabioyo to stay at the club past this summer.

Fulham pushing hard to keep Adarabioyo – but will find it hard
However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that they will find it hard to tie the player down to a new deal if he receives any concrete and lucrative offers from clubs in England or Europe.

It is believed his imminent free agent status is alluring him to top sides from around the continent.

Tottenham are long-term admirers of Adarabioyo and tried to sign him last summer (2023) – and it is believed they will try again if he rejects the offer of a new Fulham deal.

It is believed the former England Under-21 star is set to keep his options open until the end of his contract – when he becomes a free agent.

The Manchester-born ace has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season after recovering from groin surgery earlier in the 2023-24 campaign.

He has now racked up 73 Premier League appearances for Fulham after failing to make a top-flight appearance during his time at Man City.

DUO AWAY ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY
Northampton Town are likely to be without Kieron Bowie and Tony Springett for Saturday's home game against Derby with the pair away on international duty.

"I'm expecting the squad to be the same as last weekend but Kieron and Tony are potentially unavailable," he said.

"Kieron and Tony have both had international call-ups and we are planning for Saturday without them.

"We are in somebody else's hands and if they are available then it's not down to us, if their international managers select them then that's the way it is.

"We are trying to get some more players back but it's up to the players who are in the side to step up and showcase themselves the best they can."

Shakhtar CEO accuses Daniel Levy over transfer of former Fulham winger
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy criticized for Manor Solomon transfer, yet again...

Daniel Levy is always regarded as one of the toughest people in football to crack and get business done with, as the 62-year-old has a reputation for playing hardball when it comes to either selling or buying players.

When you're notorious, you tend to cross a few lines every now and then, and Levy might have gone too far in his conduct with regards to talks with Shakhtar Donetsk for the acquisition of Manor Solomon.

Tottenham signed the 24-year-old on a free transfer, and all the spotlight was taken by officials at Shakhtar owing to repeated warnings about taking advantage of Manor's contract situation.

Shakhtar CEO accuses Levy & Tottenham for disrespect
Sergei Palkin, Shakhtar Donetsk CEO, has publicly spoken about Tottenham and Levy not acting in right regard in negotiations on back of Spurs' Solomon move.

"Since October, we have been diligently engaged in negotiations with Tottenham. But finally, Tottenham has not acted in a manner that reflects the principles of fairness and equity. In this situation, we feel a sense of disrespect from Tottenham," Palkin said in an interview with ESPN.

"If you go deeply in my feelings during these months we have negotiated. Actually, we would like to appeal to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to act in good faith and uphold the shared values of the European football family to find a fair way to compensate us in this transfer, what we are talking about.

"They offered something but it is not even serious what they offered. It is something like peanuts to show they are ready to give something but this is not comparable with what they received. A club like Tottenham cannot behave like this. It is a top, well-known worldwide club and to behave like they are doing is very strange."

To be fair, while Levy has a reputation, Shakhtar also has a reputation for being notorious with their negotiations. They have time and time again come public about private talks and have always been a bit of a tricky club to deal with. Coming out and criticizing Tottenham for something that has been put behind is not respectful either.

Richard Hughes 'Weighing up' Liverpool Swoop for Adarabioyo
Liverpool have reportedly been linked with a move for Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo at Anfield.

Liverpool have considered making a move for Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, but the west London outfit are set to offer him a new deal at Craven Cottage.
The Reds must prioritise the hire of a new manager, with Jurgen Klopp set to depart at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Liverpool's current centre-back options consist of Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah, and Virgil van Dijk, whilst Joel Matip's future remains uncertain.

Liverpool are one of the clubs weighing up a move for Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window at Anfield, according to The Standard's Nizaar Kinsella.

The Reds are set for their most important off-season in years, after head coach Jurgen Klopp announced he would be stepping down from the post at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Fenway Sports Group chief executive of football operations Michael Edwards and Liverpool sporting director Richard Edwards are tasked with appointing a new manager and building a squad capable of maintaining a challenge for England and Europe's biggest honours. Adarabioyo is in talks over a new contract at Fulham.

Liverpool dealt blow in the race for Adarabioyo
The defender is set to be offered a 'bumper' new contract at Fulham

According to The Standard's Nizaar Kinsella, Fulham are preparing to make Adarabioyo one of their 'top earners' at Craven Cottage with the offer of a new contract. The 26-year-old's current deal expires this summer, meaning he would be free to leave the west London outfit on a free transfer during the window.

Liverpool, alongside Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan, have been 'weighing up' a summer move for Adarabioyo, who has been in 'exceptional form' since returning from injury in November 2023. The Reds may have had the edge over Spurs, who signed Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin during the 2024 winter transfer window. GIVEMESPORT sources also understand that a move to West Ham United has been considered ahead of the summer.

Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes must prepare for life after Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and the acquisition of a new centre-back will be one of their highest transfer priorities. Joel Matip, currently unavailable after suffering a serious knee injury earlier in the 2023/24 season, sees his contract expire at the campaign's conclusion.

Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk, who will turn 33 before the start of next term, isn't getting any younger. Chelsea and Manchester United are also expected to be in the market for a centre-back, hinting that Liverpool must move quickly to identify their top targets.

A move for Adarabioyo, dubbed as "special" by Fulham boss Marco Silva, could be seen as sensible business, with the former England U19 international set to be available on a free unless he pens new terms at Craven Cottage. Unfortunately for Liverpool, talks have already started between the 6 foot 5 defender and Fulham over a new contract, which will see him become one of the Cottagers' highest-paid players.

Liverpool's current centre-back options
The Reds hope to strengthen their backline this summer

Despite interest in Adarabioyo, Liverpool still have a wealth of centre-back options ahead of the 2024/25 season, despite the serious injury and likely departure of Joel Matip. Virgil van Dijk has acted as a brilliant captain following Jordan Henderson's departure in the summer of 2023 and is set to continue as the Reds' leading central defensive option.

Joe Gomez has also enjoyed an outstanding season and is capable of covering at right-back for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate has established himself as a regular next to van Dijk and could become an anchor of the six-time European Cup winners' backline for years to come. Liverpool will also be eager to develop Jarell Quansah into a first-team regular after breaking into Klopp's side this term.

'It is like another rivalry' - Super Eagles playmaker Iwobi vows to give 100 percent against Black Start
Alex Iwobi is hoping that the Super Eagles can pick it up from where they left it at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as they gear up for consecutive friendly matches against Ghana and Mali.

The Fulham midfielder hasn't worn the Super Eagles jersey since their defeat to Ivory Coast in the AFCON final.

Despite being tipped as one of the key players for the three-time African champions heading to the competition, the Hale End Academy product was largely underwhelming.

His indifferent performances led to a barrage of criticisms, some overly excessive, after the conclusion of AFCON but the former Everton midfielder hasn't been deterred by it.

He has gone on to play consistently well for Fulham in the Premier League, scoring a late winner against Manchester United last month and also scored an historic goal in their loss to Wolves.

Having resumed to the Marrakech-based camp, Iwobi has spoken ahead of the Super Eagles with the Black Stars on Friday.

The Fulham midfielder has expressed his excitement to be back on  international duty as they prepare for the forthcoming games on Friday and next Monday respectively.

"Because it was in-season, we had to go straight back to club football. We haven't heard much time to reflect but of course you want to continue the form you had at AFCON and hopefully push on and make things great again," Iwobi said,

On what is being said in the squad ahead of the clash with Ghana, the 27-year-old spoke about the awareness of the rivalry with the 2010 World Cup quarterfinalist.

"Of course, it is like another rivalry against one of the nations that is close to us. So, we will give our full 100% to try and get the result we want"

Fulham ready to make Nigerian CB one of their top earners to fend off Liverpool, Tottenham interest
According to The Standard, Fulham are ready to offer Anglo-Nigerian central defender Tosin Adarabioyo a huge deal to ward off transfer interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

It is no news that the right-footed defender is into the last days of his contract and is being linked with a host of clubs but Fulham are not ready to give up on their mission to retain his services.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou admitted last week that they are in the market for a new central defender, with Tosin attracting interest from the north London club last summer.

Tosin has also been linked with a move to Anfield as a possible replacement for Cameroonian centre-back Joel Matip who is currently injured and becomes a free agent in the off season.

As stated in the report, the London-based club are ready to make the 26-year-old one of their top earners, reinforcing their commitment to tie him down to a long-term contract.

It has been said that talks have already begun between both parties regarding a new deal though the Manchester City Academy product is keen on his football presently.

The determination to keep the Super Eagles-eligible also stems from the fact that he has been one of the Cottagers' best players in this campaign m.

According to Whoscored, only João Palhinha and Anthonee Robinson are the two players with better ratings than him among players present at the club.

He moved to Craven Cottage in the summer of 2020 and has become a vital player in the defense, featuring in 127 games and has six goal involvements.

Fulham prepare major contract offer to block Tottenham Hotspur move for 'special' player
Fulham beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 on Saturday but could yet end up losing a key player to Ange Postecoglou's side.

Marco Silva saw his side run riot at Craven Cottage with Rodrigo Muniz stealing the headlines, bagging a brace against Spurs.

Fulham are playing so well right now and we aren't surprised on hearing rumours of interest in certain players.

Joao Palhinha and Antonee Robinson are regularly linked away from the club with Premier League giants seemingly interested.

Fulham may well cash in one or both players come the end of the season but it's a different story with Tosin Adarabioyo.

The giant centre back is out of contract this summer and there has been no indication of him signing a new contract.

There is now a very real chance that Adarabioyo simply walks away from Fulham for nothing – and Premier League interest is mounting.

Tottenham Hotspur back in for Tosin Adarabioyo
The London Evening Standard now claim that Tottenham are weighing up a move to sign Adarabioyo.

Liverpool and AC MIlan are also named as being in the race with his status as an imminent free agent seemingly appealing to many clubs.

It's noted that Tottenham still want another centre back despite spending on Radu Dragusin in the January transfer window.

Dragusin didn't exactly shine at Fulham on Saturday and we can hardly blame Tottenham for being impressed by Adarabioyo.

We would question whether this is really the right move for Adarabioyo though.

Tottenham already have Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, a partnership January signing Dragusin has struggled to break so far.

Would Adarabioyo be heading to Tottenham as a third or even fourth choice? That just doesn't really add up for a player thriving in the Fulham starting XI on a regular basis.

Fulham are allegedly ready to make Adarabioyo one of the club's top earners to convince him to stay, but the defender is keeping his options open.

Hailed as a 'special' player by Silva, Adarabioyo needs to think very carefully about this next move; he has really established himself as a fine Premier League centre back after struggling for a chance at Manchester City.

Going back to being on the bench away from Fulham would be a real shame and we would love to see him stay at Craven Cottage for a while yet.

Chelsea to compete with Man United for 26-year-old defender who will cost over £35m
Chelsea Manchester United are interested in signing the Fulham defender Antonee Robinson at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old United States international has established himself as a reliable Premier League left back and his performances have attracted the attention of the top clubs.

Give Me Sport reports that Bayern Munich are keen on the player as well. Robinson is reportedly valued in excess of £35 million and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea are prepared to pay that kind of money for them.

The Blues currently have Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella as their left back options. However, the Spaniard has not been able to live up to the expectations since the big-money move from Brighton. He could be sold in the summer and Chelsea will have to replace some adequately.

Although, they have Ian Maatsen on the books as well, the young defender is likely to move on permanently upon the expiry of his loan deal at Borussia Dortmund.

Antonee Robinson will be tempted to join Chelsea, Man United
Robinson could prove to be a quality addition to the Chelsea defence and he could compete with Chilwell for a starting spot.

Similarly, Manchester United need to invest in a left back as well. Luke Shaw has had his fair share of injury problems and Tyrell Malacia has barely featured.

The opportunity to join Chelsea or Manchester United could prove to be hard to turn down for the Fulham defender and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Both clubs have the financial resources to afford the 26-year-old and it will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with Fulham in the summer.

Where was your Premier League team with 10 games to go last season?
Who is the Premier League's most improved team? And who has had the biggest drop off? We take a look at how each Premier League team compares to where they were at this stage last year...

With the Premier League reaching its final stretch of games, we take a look at where each team were at this stage last season and how they compare to this year with 10 games remaining.

Arsenal -5 points on this stage last season
Arsenal find themselves in the same spot as last season, top of the table after five consecutive wins. However, they are five points worse off with 64 points rather than the 69 they collected at this stage last season.

Last season they had an eight-point cushion on Manchester City (who had a game in hand). This year the advantage on Liverpool is just goal difference, with City a point back.

With more experience after a disappointing ending to last season's title race, the Gunners will be hoping they keep their place on top this time.

Who has improved the most since last season?
Points change from last season with 10 games remaining

Liverpool +21 points
Liverpool have made the biggest leap of any team from last season, now looking like the Jurgen Klopp teams of old that have gone head-to-head with Manchester City in title races past.

At this stage last season, Liverpool only had 43 points and were facing an uphill battle in their chase for a top-four finish. This season they find themselves back on top with 64 points and only second on goal difference.

Despite the drop-off last season, Liverpool did finish in good form, winning seven of their last 10 games and narrowly missing out on the top four. They will be hoping for similar form in their remaining 10 games in the quest to give Klopp a dream farewell.

Manchester City -1 point
Treble hangover? City are only a point off the 64 they had at this stage last season - and much closer to the summit, being a point off top with league leaders Arsenal coming to the Etihad, live on Sky Sports, next.

To City's advantage this is where they usually find their best form. They won an astonishing nine out of the last 10 in the 22/23 season, while also winning the Champions League and FA Cup. A formidable side who will be confident of landing a fourth Premier League title in a row.

Aston Villa +12 points (with nine games remaining)
Unai Emery's first full season with Aston Villa could not be going much better. After ending last season in the European places, the progress continues with Villa pushing for a Champions League spot.

They have progressed significantly in terms of points, with four more wins than at this point of last season with nine games remaining.

Tottenham +4 points
There's a good feeling around Tottenham with Ange Postecoglou bringing excitement back to the club with his attacking style of play - but they are just four points better off than they were towards the troubled end of Antonio Conte's tenure.

However, improving the points total and challenging for Champions League qualification despite selling star man Harry Kane will be a decent return for Postecoglou in his first season in charge.

Manchester United -6 points
Are United going backwards? Erik ten Hag had a good first season at Manchester United, beating Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final and securing a top-four finish. With a slow start to this Premier League season, losing three of their first five Premier League matches, United find themselves six points adrift at this stage, 47 to last year's 53.

With a top-five finish possibly securing a Champions league place, Manchester United remain in touching distance but will have to show their best form if they want to overtake Tottenham and Aston Villa.

West Ham +16 points (with nine to play)
The Europa Conference League winners were battling relegation at this stage last season, with just 27 points to their name with nine games to go. But this year they have found a better balance between their Premier League and European commitments. The Europa League quarter-finalists sit in seventh place domestically with a much healthier points total.

Brighton -4 points
Brighton were one of the success stories of last season, displaying excellent football under newly appointed manager Roberto De Zerbi and securing a Europa League place in reward for their efforts.

But after losing their midfield duo of Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool and Moises Caicedo to Chelsea, it was always going to be difficult to replicate. Brighton have struggled to find consistency in this campaign, but only sit four points worse off with 10 games to go.

Wolves +14 points
Gary O'Neil has led Wolves to a really good Premier League campaign so far in his first season at the club, earning impressive wins against the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham, despite having to offload some big names for financial reasons in the summer.

After being dismissed by Bournemouth at the end of last season despite keeping the club from relegation, O'Neil has led Wolves to 41 points so far, sitting in ninth place. It's a huge improvement from the 27 points at this stage of last season when they were in the lower end of the table.

Newcastle -13 points
The biggest fallers among the top sides, Newcastle's tally of 40 points is an alarming 13 fewer than they had with 10 to play last season. With European football to contend with this season and injuries to key players such as Nick Pope, captain Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Joelinton, Newcastle have not been able to produce the standards of last season thus far. They sit in 10th and will be hoping for a big finish.

Chelsea +1 point (with 11 to go)
After a turbulent first season under Chelsea's new ownership and multiple managerial changes, Mauricio Pochettino has only managed to edge the Blues up by one point so far this term, gaining 39 points to last season's 38 with 27 games played. With the money spent in the summer and Chelsea sitting in 11th place, Pochettino will be hoping to drive his side up the table with the remaining 11 fixtures - as well as delivering FA Cup success.

Fulham -1 point (with nine games to go)
Marco Silva's team have had a similar season in terms of points in comparison to last year. Despite losing their top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, they are only slightly down on last year when they had 39 points.

Bournemouth +8 points
Bournemouth have found improvement, led by a sharp-shooting Dominic Solanke who has 15 goals this campaign. The Cherries find themselves with 35 points and have a top-half place in sight - a big step up on their relegation battle last season.

Crystal Palace +2 points
Crystal Palace have remained largely consistent with 29 points compared to last year's 27 - the managerial changes of Roy Hodgson replacing Patrick Vieira and Oliver Glasner replacing Hodgson steering them away from relegation in both seasons.

Brentford -17 points (with nine games to go)
Brentford were pushing for the European places this time last season. This season, the aim is to avoid relegation. It's the biggest drop in terms of points from any team, with the absence of the banned Ivan Toney not helping.

Everton -1 point (including a six-point deduction)
Everton are one point worse off than they were at this stage last season - but that includes the six-point deduction they've been handed by the Premier League for financial issues. They remain in the relegation scrap, four points above the drop zone. They were just two points above the bottom three with 10 to play last season.

Nottingham Forest -6 points (with nine games to go, including a four-point deduction)
A four-point deduction for financial issues from the Premier League has dropped Nottingham Forest into the relegation zone, where they are six points worse off than at the same point last year under Steve Cooper, who ultimately led them to safety.

How do promoted trio compare with last season's relegated sides?
With 10 games to go, last season's relegated sides all had more points than Sheffield United (14 points), Burnley (17 from 29 games) and Luton (22 from 19 games) do right now.

Southampton were on 23 points, with Leicester (25) and Leeds (26) marginally better off.

Flops – Nottingham Forest and Fulham signings not working out, and causing worry for summer
On last summer's deadline day, AC Milan allowed Divock Origi and Fodé Ballo-Touré to join Nottingham Forest and Fulham respectively on loan deals.

Marco Silva's side took the defender on a dry loan deal while Nottingham Forest have an option to make the 28-year-old's stay permanent for €4.5m.

Nottingham Forest and Fulham aren't planning to retain Origi and the 27-year-old left-back beyond this season, according to Calciomercato.

The striker has clocked in 623 minutes from 17 games for Nuno Espírito Santo's side, managing a goal and an assist in the process.

Meanwhile, Ballo-Touré has been restricted to just over 200 minutes from seven games and has made only one appearance for Fulham this year.

Taking their performances for the two English clubs into account, the report doesn't hesitate to call the duo flops.

It's clear that Nuno Espírito Santo's side and Fulham's respective decisions to bet on Origi and the Senegal international hasn't worked out.

The duo's situations at the Premier League sides have left the Rossoneri worried because they aren't included in their future plans. Therefore, Milan have to find solutions for both the Belgium international and Ballo-Touré in the summer.

Fulham and Norwich City loan pair expected to miss Derby County clash for EFL side
Northampton Town are expected to be without Kieron Bowie and Tony Springett for this weekend, as detailed on their official club website.

Northampton Town are back in League One action with a home clash against promotion chasing Derby County.

Bowie and Springett have both received international call-ups by Scotland and Republic of Ireland's Under-21's sides respectively.

The Cobblers' website says it is 'likely' that the duo will not feature against the Rams.

Northampton Town selection latest
Bowie is on loan at Northampton from Fulham and has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals.

He spent last term with the Cobblers too and found the net on five occasions to help them gain promotion from League Two.

The 21-year-old, who started out at Raith Rovers, has been on the books at Fulham since 2020 but is yet to play for the first-team of the Premier League outfit.

He is due to return to Craven Cottage later this year and the Whites will have a decision to make on what to do with him next.

As for Springett, he linked up with Northampton in the January transfer window on loan from Norwich City to give them more depth in attacking areas.

The 21-year-old has played 17 times for the Canaries so far in his career but was given the green light to leave Carrow Road on a temporary basis earlier this winter to get some more game time.

He had a stint with the Cobblers' upcoming opponents Derby last term to get some experience and made 11 outings for the Rams.

Jon Brady's side head into this Saturday on the back of their 2-0 loss away at Wycombe Wanderers last time out.

Whites hot at Craven Cottage as Muniz underlines why Broja experiencing loan inactivity
Fulham's excellent home record was enhanced by Saturday's impressive 3-0 derby win over Tottenham.

The Whites have collected 28 points from 15 Premier League matches at Craven Cottage – winning nine of them and drawing once. Only six clubs have a better return – five of those the ones at the top of the standings.

Rodrigo Muniz continued his scoring spree – and underlined why Chelsea loanee Armando Broja has gathered dust since his January loan switch – with a double to help down Spurs.

Sasa Lukic's inventive finish with his knee inflicted a heavy loss on the visitors, who were relieved to see Joao Palhinha's goal struck off because Raul Jimenez was offside.

Broja was not even in the matchday squad at the weekend and reports have indicated that Fulham will now need to pay a £4million fee to the Blues, effectively a penalty for not handing him game time.

But any financial hit will be softened by the performances and goal return of Muniz, whose value is soaring.

The 22-year-old is the first Fulham player to score in four consecutive Premier League home games.

Muniz has netted seven goals in his last seven top-flight appearances – the most of any player in the competition since the start of February.

Former Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray, now a pundit, told Match of the Day: "Since the turn of the year, he is the joint-top goalscorer in the Premier League alongside [Bukayo] Saka and Ollie Watkins. He was just alive.

"[For his first goal] It was a cold touch and a wonderful finish. He was really cool and calm. [For his second goal] he just stops and lets everyone move around him. Then, when he needed to, he pounced."

Silva added: "He has all of the ability and potential to become a top striker. He's still a young lad. Keep playing week in, week out. Make mistakes and learn. Keep doing good things.

"When he came in at 20-years-old, not speaking one word in English, he wasn't even a starting player in Brazil."

Luis Boa Morte is leaving his role as first-team coach at the end of the season to take charge of Guinea-Bissau. The former Fulham winger returned to the west London club when Marco Silva was appointed head coach in July 2021.

Rowing rivalry
The men's race has been an annual fixture on the Thames since 1856, only interrupted for the First and Second World Wars and in 2020.

In the overall standings, Oxford trail Cambridge in both the men's (81-86) and women's (30-47) races.

Several big names have taken part in the legendary event. House actor Hugh Laurie was in the 1980 Cambridge crew.

And Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell returned to rowing 15 years after his triumph in Athens 2004. He joined the winning 2019 Cambridge crew at 46 years old to become the oldest-ever Boat Race competitor.

Hammersmith Bridge
Our iconic 136-year-old Hammersmith Bridge is also a significant marker in the race.

Sons of the Thames is a club based on the Tideway, just upstream of Hammersmith Bridge, which combines social events and competition rowing.

And there's also the Auriol Kensington Rowing Club at Lower Mall, Hammersmith, which bills itself as the friendliest rowing club on the river. Find all the information you need on the Auriol Kensington Rowing Club website.

Arsenal and Man Utd enter Tosin Adarabioyo transfer race
Arsenal and Manchester United are in a battle over the signing of Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, according to a report by HITC.

Arsenal and Manchester United are keen on signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, according to HITC.

The 26-year-old defender has been linked with multiple clubs in recent weeks and the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have now joined the race for his signature.

Adarabioyo has been outstanding for Fulham this season and the top English clubs are keeping tabs on his performances. Apart from his assured displays at the back, his contract situation has also made him an enticing option for most clubs.

The former Manchester City defender will be a free agent in the summer of 2024 and he is unlikely to renew his deal with the Londoners. The opportunity to sign a proven Premier League defender on a free transfer is a tempting proposition, so it's no surprise that Arsenal and Manchester United are showing a keen interest.

Adarabioyo would be a value for money addition
Arsenal will need a deeper squad in order to do well across multiple competitions next season and Adarabioyo would be a superb addition on a free transfer. His arrival would improve them defensively without a substantial investment.

As for Manchester United, they might need to replace players like Harry Maguire in the summer. The England international has been linked with an exit in recent months, while Jonny Evans will move on as well. The 6ft 4in Fulham defender would be the ideal replacement.

Manchester United are in need of multiple signings this summer and the acquisition of Adarabioyo will not burn a hole in their pocket. It will allow them to invest in the other areas of their squad as well.

He will probably want to join a club in the Champions League, capable of competing for major trophies, so Arsenal may have the edge in that regard. However, Adarabioyo may get more first team opportunities, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Fulham FC Riverside Stand – London
Designed by architects Populous, the new Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage has transformed this part of the River Thames, not only visually but also in a practical way, by creating world class leisure facilities.

In addition to increasing seating capacity and enhancing amenities for supporters, the new stand builds on the legacy of Fulham Football Club, which dates back to 1896. The new development includes restaurants overlooking the river, events spaces, a health club complete with roof-top pool, a boutique hotel and a roof terrace. The scheme also features a public pathway that will allow an uninterrupted walk along the banks of the River Thames between Hammersmith and Putney Bridges.

Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd handled the demolition of the old stand and construction of the Riverside Stand and they engaged Kaicer Building Envelope Solutions to provide the spectacular glass façade at the rear, overlooking the river.

A specific element of the façade design involved the installation of glazed louvres at high level. Kaicer chose Fieger FLM AirTec single-glazed louvre vents to meet the requirement.

A total of 36 louvre windows were supplied, in varying sizes, comprising 12.76 laminated glass blades.

    Client: Fulham Football Club
    Architects: Populous Architects
Main Contractor: Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd
Façade Contractor: Kaicer Building Envelope Solutions

The vent framework was powder coated to RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey to give a matt finish matching the surrounding curtain walling. The aluminium framing was pre-anodized to provide marine grade standard protection.

Apart from the aesthetic aspect, the glazed louvres enable airflow through the stand during warmer weather, preventing a build-up of heat, as well as providing a degree of protection against adverse conditions at other times of the year.

The vents were supplied with manual controls, consisting of detachable crank handles to minimise unauthorised use.

Glazing adapters were supplied fitted to the vent frames to facilitate installation into the curtain walling system.

The FLM model has been tested to EN 14351-1 Windows and doors product standard, as well as to BS 6180: 2011 for barrier-loading.

Former Fulham talent now in red-hot form after 'once in a lifetime' move to Arsenal
Arsenal talent Mika Biereth is making himself into a real goalscoring sensation some three years since leaving Fulham.

We have seen Fulham produce some talented youngsters in recent times.

Sadly, they have ended up leaving and showing their quality elsewhere.

Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho both spring to mind having emerged at Craven Cottage before joining Liverpool.

Ryan Sessegnon at least earned Fulham major cash but there will be disappointment that his career hasn't quite turned out as hoped.

Then there is Mika Biereth, a player who came up in the Fulham ranks with some real hype behind him.

The striker made his Under-18 debut at Fulham before even turning 15 and looks to be on a path to first-team stardom at Craven Cottage.

Biereth stunned Fulham in 2021 though, completing a move to London rivals Arsenal.

"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't really turn it down," said Biereth upon leaving Fulham for the Gunners, picking North London over the West of the capital.

Ex-Fulham striker Mika Biereth in red-hot form
Biereth is yet to make a single first-team appearance for Arsenal nearly three years since making his move.

The Dane is though shining out on loan having hit six goals and five assists in 15 games at Motherwell in the first half of the season.

Biereth was given a new loan experience in January as Arsenal sent him off to Austria with Sturm Graz.

The move has been a masterstroke for Biereth, who has now eight goals in just 11 games – including one in the Europa League.

Biereth just can't stop scoring and he is certainly giving Arsenal something to think about right now.

There is a chance that Biereth makes an impact at Arsenal, but he could end up like Folarin Balogun; a striker sold after shining on loan.

Maybe it isn't the worst idea for Fulham to be keeping tabs on Biereth.

Loanee Armando Broja is unlikely to be staying on a permanent basis this summer and Fulham may be looking for another striker to support Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez.

Biereth is showing the kind of goalscoring talent that made him so highly-rated in the Fulham ranks and he seems to be making rapid progress this season.

Whether he is ready for Premier League action is up for debate but Fulham will surely be looking at Biereth either with pride at his rise from the Fulham ranks, or with interest for a potential future move.

Mika was in lodgings in my road and was absolutely set on joining Arsenal when the opportunity arose. They sold the idea of the move and progression plans to him and they are working out perfectly at present. He was in the shadow of Stansfield ahead of him and like Tosin had firm ambitions.
