Fulham unveil stunning new Riverside Stand featuring rooftop pool and Michelin Star food
The redevelopment of Fulham's Riverside Stand has been more than a decade in the making, but the Premier League side are finally set to welcome their first hospitality guests, with the packages are available to purchase from 9 April

Fulham's redeveloped Riverside Stand will feature a rooftop swimming pool

Fulham have unveiled their new state-of-the-art Riverside Stand ahead of its official opening.

The Cottagers were first granted permission to redevelop their Craven Cottage stadium in the summer of 2012, though work on the Riverside Stand did not start until 2019. After being closed for three years, the lower tier was opened to the public in 2022.

Now, the upper tier is finally set to be opened to supporters and will offer a range of stunning matchday experiences. Fulham have now offered a first look at what supporters can expect when the packages are available to purchase from 9 April.

The Premier League side have insisted they have "redefined" the spectator experience with the redevelopment. Seven different hospitality experiences will be offered in the Riverside Stand.

That starts with the Sky Deck, which takes up the top three floors of The Riverside and will offer a range of social settings, as well as food and drink pop-ups. The rooftop level will feature sweeping views of the River Thames and of London's skyline.

The Riverside will also be the home of Michelin Star restaurant 'The Gourmet', which will offer a four-course and a la carte menu, with a terrace overlooking the Thames. That is not the only Michelin Star dining experience in the new stand.

There will also be 'The Brasserie', with an open-air riverside terrace on one side and luxury seats over the halfway line on the other. The final offering announced on Wednesday is 'The Dugout'.

There will also be two Michelin Star dining experiences, with views over the River Thames and the pitch

Fans choosing this experience will be sat directly behind Fulham's coaching staff, taking them into the thick of the action. Ticket-holders will also be able to visit a stylish bar offering food, drink and kitted out with immersive audio-visual technology.

Some experiences will be available from the start of next season with other experiences opening up throughout 2024. The Dugout will be launched at the start of next season and the Sky Deck opened up in December. Five years ago, Fulham owner Shahid Khan insisted the development would transform supporter experiences.

"Craven Cottage is a unique and inspiring venue to not only play football, but to visit. As I noted upon becoming Chairman in 2013, it has always been my intention to follow through with the development of the Riverside Stand," he said.

Fulham will also offer a 'Dugout' experience complete with a stylish bar

"Make no mistake, the Riverside development will be a location like no other, a real game-changer for Fulham Football Club, our neighbourhood, and all of London. Our aim is to create a world-class destination for fans and guests to experience and enjoy.

"While retaining the charm that Craven Cottage exudes within our very own section of the River Thames. In doing so, we will also safeguard the Club's future at Craven Cottage, forever the rightful home for Fulham."

Inside Fulham's Riverside Stand, the 'premium experience unlike anything in football'

Fulham believe their swanky Riverside Stand will set a new standard for hospitality in football. City A.M. went down to Craven Cottage to take a look.

Where is the Premier League's most luxurious hospitality to be found? Tottenham Hotspur have strong claims with their Tunnel Club, where guests pay £16k a season to feast on fine dining while watching the players trot out onto the pitch. Or perhaps it is the old-school refinement of Arsenal's Diamond Club, an invite-only affair costing a cool £25k a year.

From next season there will be a new posh kid on the block. Fulham are readying their swanky new Riverside Stand, which features Michelin-starred chefs on rotation, unmatched views across London and an open-air swimming pool. The club believe the facility, new details of which are revealed today, will be a match for anything their more celebrated rivals are touting.

Fulham owner Shahid Khan says it will be "a premium experience that will be unlike anything in football, here in London or elsewhere". Adds lead architect Philip Johnson: "Our vision for the new Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage was to create a unique experience that has not been seen before, whether in the context of football or beyond."

Naturally, access to the Riverside Stand doesn't come cheap. Membership to the Gourmet, its most exclusive section, costs around £10k, but insiders believe that represents better value than some competitors. And there are more affordable options, including the football-focused Dugout, a stylish bar where fans might get to meet coaches before taking seats just 3.5m from the pitch.

What sets the Riverside apart from other sports hospitality projects is Fulham's determination to take advantage of their unique location on the banks of the Thames by creating 365-day-a-year destination. Its various restaurants will be open every day for non-matchgoing diners, while there is also a hotel, health club and of course the only rooftop pool in English football.

It was conceived by Populous, the go-to sports arena designers behind Tottenham and the Emirates as well as Wembley, the Principality and Aviva Stadiums but for whom this still represented a new challenge. "Essentially we were asked to maximise capacity while maximising the potential of the site next to the river," Johnson told City A.M.

Work began on the Riverside almost five years ago and completion has been hit by delays caused by the original constructors going bust. But the seats have all been installed and the lower tier and Dugout bar are set to open for the start of next season, with the remaining areas expected to be ready by December this year.

The public can buy tickets from 9 April and will get a closer look on Saturday when the Thames path that runs behind the stand is opened for those watching the Boat Race. The walkway has always been closed but it is hoped that pedestrian access and food trucks parked by the stand will help the club's ambition to entice visitors year-round.

While the Riverside is designed for the well-heeled consumer, the football is no afterthought. The modern stand will bump Craven Cottage's capacity by more than 3,000 and features sound-reflecting technology to optimise atmosphere. Plus, the more money that is spent at the ground, the better the club is equipped to challenge on the field.

Willian to decide Fulham future at end of season
Fulham winger Willian has confirmed he will make a decision over his future at the end of the season.

The Brazilian returned to the Premier League in the summer of 2022, joining Fulham on an initial one-year contract.

Willian allowed his deal to run down before he swiftly returned to the club, penning a new contract until the end of the 2023-24 season.

With his current deal set to expire on June 30, Willian has revealed that he is unsure about whether to extend his stay with the Cottagers.

As per Sport Witness, Willian told Trivela: "Fulham have already signalled that they want me to stay. They want me to stay, to renew my contract.

"But together with my agent, we've said that we'll only resolve this at the end of the season. I think the best way to do it at the moment is to tell them to wait, because I also have to decide if it's going to be here or if I'm going somewhere else, so I told them to wait a bit."

While there is uncertainty surrounding his future, the former Chelsea and Arsenal man is keen to stay in the English capital.

Willian said: "Staying in London, I think it would be good, it would be perfect. But I still haven't decided what my next step will be.

"As you said, I'm already 35, I'm coming to the end of my career. So you have to think very carefully about your decisions, what's going to be the best place, what's going to be the next step. But if I could, of course, stay in London, be in London, it would be good, it would be perfect."

Willian spent seven years with Fulham's West London neighbours Chelsea, registering 63 goals and 62 assists in 339 matches.

During his time with the Blues, he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, an EFL Cup and a Europa League trophy

The 35-year-old subsequently spent a year with Arsenal, before he rejoined Brazilian club Corinthians in the summer of 2021.

Since returning to the English top flight, Willian has made 60 competitive appearances for Fulham, contributing 10 goals and eight assists.

After starting Fulham's 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, Willian is likely to be involved when Marco Silva's side face Sheffield United on Saturday.

The other top-tier restaurant is accessible through The Brasserie package, complete with luxury seats on the halfway line. And The Dugout will see guests sit directly behind the coaching staff and within touching distance of the sideline, as well as giving access to food and drink pre- and post-match.

Members of the public will be able to purchase a range of the matchday experiences from April 9 onwards, although the full extent of the Riverside Stand's amenities will not be open until December.

Responding to fan frustration at the cost and timescale of the development, a Fulham spokesperson told The Sun earlier this year: "World-class premium experiences and hospitality offerings including restaurants, bars and rooftop terraces will open and become available during the course of the 2024/25 season. A matchday like never seen before.

"When fully completed, the New Riverside stand will offer a range of amenities for supporters on match days and the community, throughout the year, and will be a real game-changer for the Club and local area."

Fulham's construction project is one of multiple currently being undertaken by Premier League clubs. Everton are hoping to move into their new state-of-the-art ground at Bramley-Moore Dock by the start of the 2025/26 season.

Bourmemouth are hoping to build a bigger stadium by 2027, while Nottingham Forest are hoping to replace the Peter Taylor Stand with a larger structure that will take their overall capacity to 35,000.

Inside Fulham's new state-of-the-art hospitality – rooftop bar, Michelin stars, dugout seats
Fulham have unveiled their new state-of-the-art hospitality in the redeveloped Riverside Stand – including Michelin Star dining and dugout seats

Fulham have unveiled their new state-of-the-art hospitality inside the redeveloped Riverside Stand.

The Cottagers have seen plenty of work undertaken on the Riverside Stand adjacent to the Thames since chairman Shahid Khan announced the redevelopment in 2019. The stand has taken shape over the last couple of years and the club have now shown a glimpse into the stunning facilities.

From April 9, fans can begin to purchase their experiences in the luxury new matchday experience ahead of the planned open in line with the kick-off of the 2024/25 season, with seven different premium options available within the stands.

The first experience planned to open before August is The Dugout. An experience that does what it says on the tin, fans can take the most intimate seat in the stadium directly behind the coaching staff. Before and after the match, fans can retreat to a bar offering food and drink before returning to the thick of the action as close as 3.5m from the touchline.

Making up the top three floors of the Riverside Stand is the Sky Deck which will offer food and drink pop-ups in a host of a number of settings including a rooftop level showcasing views of the Thames and London's skyline, while those more interested in the football can watch the game from the highest point in the house.

For those heading for the cuisine, the stand offers two Michelin Star dining experiences. Firstly, fans can enjoy a four course a la carte meal in The Gourmet with fine wines, champagnes and cocktails either inside or on the terrace overlooking the river.

Alternatively, The Brasserie offers a second Michelin Star experience in the open-air terrace before sitting down in their luxury match seat offering unmatched views from the halfway line to watch Marco Silva's side in action. While the Sky Deck and remaining Riverside experiences are scheduled to open in December, it's an exciting time for those enjoying a lavish matchday.

The Lilywhites are currently 12th in the table but are just six points behind West Ham who sit in the current UEFA Conference League qualifying space. Should Fulham end the season strongly, fans might even be able to sample the experience along with the return of possible European football at the Cottage.

"A shame" - Wes Brown reacts as Fulham and Brentford eye Blackburn Rovers star
Wes Brown spoke to FLW and exclusively revealed that he expects Szmodics to depart Blackburn Rovers this summer for a Premier League opportunity.

Sammie Szmodics' 21 league goals have saved Blackburn Rovers from a difficult season in the Championship.
Fulham, Luton Town, and Brentford have shown interest in Szmodics after his impressive form.
Wes Brown believes Szmodics may move to the Premier League soon, as this may be his last chance at 28.

Blackburn Rovers have had a difficult season so far, but it could have been much worse without the outstanding individual achievements of Sammie Szmodics.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a decent first season for Rovers after his arrival from Peterborough United, but he has gone up a level this time around, as he has hit 21 goals for Blackburn as they battle to stay in the Championship.

Not only has Szmodics shown a clinical edge in front of goal, but he is a constant threat with his ability on the ball and his movement stretching play for Blackburn, who are set up to get the most out of him and find him in dangerous positions in the final third as frequently as possible.

He remains the top scorer in the league as it enters a season-defining period during the run-in, where his and Blackburn's fate will be decided very soon.

It's fair to say that without his goals, 21 of which have come in the league this season, Blackburn could've found themselves in even greater danger under the guidance of Jon Dahl Tomasson and his successor, John Eustace.

Unsurprisingly, such form has caught the eye, and it has been claimed that Fulham are the latest club to show an interest in the forward, with Luton Town and Brentford previously thought to be monitoring Szmodics, with it being reported by Alan Nixon that the latter are long-term admirers of the player.

Wes Brown discusses Sammie Szmodics' Blackburn Rovers future
Wes Brown is most well known in English football for his 14-year spell at Manchester United, but he also spent a season with Blackburn in the 2016/17 campaign, making six appearances in that time.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World via instantcasinos.com about the situation regarding Szmodics and his future at Ewood Park, Brown said: "Listen, it's a shame for Blackburn, but this is what happens when someone excels.

The player excels and bigger clubs are going to come in, simple as that.

"If that's the case and he does get sold, it's obviously not ideal for Blackburn but you just hope that they get the best money in for him at the time.

"That's how football works, isn't it? He's done really well, but, like you say, he's 28 now, and he'd love to go to the Premier League.

"That's got to be his ambition. It's not to say he doesn't love Blackburn or anything, but you could easily see that happening this summer."

Sammie Szmodics' Premier League ambition
There are countless examples of sides relying on their key attacker to dig them out of a relegation battle in the Championship, and if Szmodics does that this season, then he will forever be remembered fondly at Blackburn.

However, it does appear as though he is playing his final games for the club now and that he will hope to be playing top-flight football next season. Every player will have that ambition, but it will come down to a question of timing and talent.

At 28, he doesn't have long left to achieve that goal, highlighting that now is the time to make the step up and for Blackburn to cash-in, but they will hope he can maintain their second tier status for next season in the meantime.

To ensure the inside of the stand is as spectacular as the outside, the Club has partnered with several distinguished designers from across Europe including Lazaro Rosa Volan, Dion & Arles, Stuart Forbes Associates and Music.

Philip Johnson, Senior Principal and Lead Architect for New Riverside Stand project at Populous, said: "Our vision for the New Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage was to create a unique experience that has not been seen before, whether in the context of football or beyond. Why Fulham are set to pay Arsenal £2m ahead of the summer transfer window
The end of the Premier League season is now in sight and Fulham will likely have to pay up £2million before the summer transfer window even gets going.

Fulham have found form of late and have claimed three impressive victories over Manchester United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Few really had relegation fears this season but Marco Silva's men have pulled well clear of the drop zone.

Fulham are now 17 points clear of the relegation zone and with points deductions and seriously struggling sides at the bottom of the table, Fulham don't have much to worry about.

The magic '40 point mark' is nearing for Fulham and final weeks will just be about trying to rack up as many points as possible and attempt to secure a top-half finish.

One thing is for sure – few Premier League clubs will fancy a trip to Craven Cottage right now.

This has been an encouraging season and boss Silva will be looking for additions to this squad this summer, but one fee will be paid before the window even starts...

Fulham set to make Bernd Leno payment
Upon promotion from the Championship in 2022, Fulham pounced to snap up goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Arsenal.

An experienced performer at the top level, Leno was a major signing for Fulham and he has certainly played his part over the last two years.

The deal Fulham struck was a cheap one, paying just £3million up front.

Another £2million was paid upon staying in the Premier league last season and, as per Sky Sports, another £2million would be due if Fulham avoided relegation in the 2023-24 season.

Fulham aren't absolutely mathematically there yet but safety is on the cards and that means the £2million payment to Arsenal will be due imminently.

That will take the total price up to £7million with an extra £1million payable for an unknown number of appearances, meaning Leno may have already hit that mark.

£8million in total is great value for money with Leno continuing to play well, so much so that he earned a Germany call-up in this international break.

Arsenal may have been happy for Leno to go but the deal has worked perfectly for Fulham, landing a proven goalkeeper without breaking the bank.

Few at Fulham would complain about a total £8million package for Leno and this next £2million payment just means that the German has played his part in helping establish Fulham in the Premier League again.

Willian confirms stance on future as Fulham look to keep winger
35-year-old remains a key player at Craven Cottage

Fulham winger Willian admits he has not yet decided on his future.

The vastly experienced 35-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season but remains an important figure under Marco Silva, having started 19 of Fulham's 29 Premier League games so far.

Willian was close to leaving the club last summer amid interest from both Nottingham Forest and clubs in Saudi Arabia but ultimately signed a new one-year deal.

The former Brazil international has revealed the club want him to stay but insists no decision will be made on his future before the end of the season.

"Fulham have already signalled that they want me to stay," he told Brazilian outlet Trivela.

"They want me to stay, to renew my contract. But together with my agent, we've said that we'll only resolve this at the end of the season.

"I think the best way to do it at the moment is to tell them to wait, because I also have to decide if it's going to be here or if I'm going somewhere else, so I told them to wait a bit."

Silva has previously confirmed Fulham are in talks with Tosin Adarabioyo, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Kenny Tete over new contracts.

Standard Sport understands Adarabioyo is in line for a bumper new deal amid interest from Liverpool, Tottenham and AC Milan.

Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan has admitted the club will "have to consider" selling star midfielder Joao Palhinha should the right offer emerge.

Bayern Munich came close to signing the Portugal international last summer and he has since signed a new contract, although speculation in regard to his future has continued.

Speaking to talkSPORT last month, Khan said: "If an offer came along and it made sense for everyone, I think that's something you have to consider with every player at the right time.

"We want to keep him and we have kept him. He's been staying with us and there's a lot of demand. There's now a huge market for Joao Palhinha. Now, eyes have opened."

Internationals: Heartbreak For Harry
Wales will not be at this summer's European Championship after suffering a penalty shootout defeat in their Play-Off Final against Poland.

Harry Wilson was arguably the standout performer throughout the 120 minutes in Cardiff, but neither side was able to make the breakthrough.

After nine flawless penalties – including one from Wilson – Dan James was the unfortunate man to be denied by Wojciech Szczesny.

It was harsh on Wales who had been the more positive side, preventing Poland from having any efforts on target all evening.

Timothy Castagne played the full 90 minutes at Wembley as Belgium drew 2-2 with England.

Youri Tielemans' brace, either side of an Ivan Toney penalty, had looked set to earn the Belgians a first ever win on English soil, but Jude Bellingham netted with the last kick of the game to earn his side a deserved draw.

Marek Rodák was given a start for Slovakia and took his chance with both hands, superbly keeping out Erling Haaland's penalty as they drew 1-1 with Norway.

There was a third Brazil cap for Andreas Pereira when he came on at half-time of their exciting 3-3 draw with Spain at the Bernabeu.

His side were 2-1 down at that point, but restored parity when Endrick netted after an Andreas corner fell his way.

A Rodri penalty then looked to have won it for the hosts late on, but Lucas Paqueta scored a spot-kick of his own in the seventh minute of stoppage time to share the spoils.

Alex Iwobi couldn't prevent Nigeria from slipping to a 2-0 defeat by Mali, Saša Lukić played the first half of Serbia's 1-0 win in Cyprus, Armando Broja's Albania were beaten by the same scoreline in Sweden, while Kevin Mbabu came on in the 64th minute of Switzerland's 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.

At Under-21 level, Jay Stansfield played the first hour of England's 7-0 win over Luxembourg, though they remain second in European Championship qualifying after losing to leaders Ukraine in October.

Elsewhere, Adrion Pajaziti and Albania lost 3-1 to Switzerland (for whom Kristian Šekularac was an unused substitute), and George Okkas' Cyprus conceded a 99th minute equaliser to draw 2-2 with Austria.

Wilson misses out after Welsh penalty heartache
Harry Wilson suffered penalty heartache as Wales missed out on a place at Euro 2024 after losing a penalty shoot-out to Poland following a goalless draw in Cardiff tonight.

The Fulham winger delivered another excellent creative display in the play-off final but couldn't help Rob Page's side break the deadlock in a cagey affair. Wilson scored his penalty, but former Fulham loanee Dan James saw his spot-kick saved by Wojciech Szczesny as Poland booked a place at this summer's finals in Germany.

Fulham full-back Timothy Castagne played the full ninety minutes as Belgium came close to recording their first win over England at Wembley. An equaliser from Jude Bellingham deep into stoppage time ensured that Gareth Southgate's side came away with a share of the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Marek Rodak made the very most of a rare start for Slovenia by producing a superb save to keep out a penalty from Erling Haaland in a 1-1 draw with Norway.

Andreas Pereira made another eye-catching appearance off the break in Brazil's 3-3 draw with Spain in Madrid. Brazil were 2-1 down when the Fulham attacking midfielder was introduced as a half-time substitute. Pereira's corner led to an equaliser from Endrick and, after Rodri's penalty had put Spain back in front, Lucas Paqueta levelled it up again from twelve yards in added time.

Alex Iwobi earned another Nigeria cap but couldn't prevent the Super Eagles from being comfortably beaten by Mali, in a match that Calvin Bassey missed having returned to Motspur Park after picking up a knock during the international break.

Sasa Lukic played the first half of Serbia's 1-0 win over Cyprus. On-loan striker Armando Broja featured as Albania lost 1-0 in Sweden, whilst Kevin Mbabu was a second half substitute in Switzerland's narrow victory over the Republic of Ireland.

Photos: Fulham star Alex Iwobi shares adorable family picture from childhood
Alex Iwobi has remained unfazed by the harsh criticism he faced during the AFCON 2023 tournament

Fulham F.C. star, Alex Iwobi, recently shared heart-warming throwback pictures with his family on social media, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward has had an impressive run so far in the ongoing English Premier League season, scoring five goals and providing an assist in twenty-one matches.

The football star has melted the hearts of his fans and followers with his recent social media post. Iwobi shared a beautiful picture from his childhood on his Instagram stories. In the adorable photo, Iwobi is captured alongside his parents and sister.

Interestingly, his father, Chuka Iwobi is said to have had a promising but low paying football career, which he eventually had to give up for studying law, in order to provide for his family and secure their future.

The 27-year-old player's mother is the cousin of Nigerian football legend Jay Jay Okocha, adding to his football heritage. His sister, Marie Iwobi is a writer.

On the international front, Iwobi was part of the Super Eagles squad that competed in the international friendlies against Ghana and Mali in Marrakech, Morocco.

Despite a victorious win over the Black Stars last week, the Super Eagles faced a setback against Mali, conceding two goals in the second round of the "jollof derby".

Sheffield United vs Fulham early team news as five ruled out and four doubts
Sheffield United will host Fulham on Saturday afternoon as they return to Premier League action

Sheffield United will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Fulham at Bramall Lane this weekend. The Blades have picked up just one point in their last four games and if they are to climb out of the bottom three they need to start winning and quickly.

Chris Wilder's side have just 10 more Premier League games left to play and they currently find themselves propping up the division and eight points adrift of safety. The manager will be checking on the fitness of a number of players this week, then, but to make this weekend's challenge a little harder, it seems Fulham could be set to travel with a clean bill of health. Here's a look at the injury news leading into this weekend's contest.

1. Out: Max Lowe (Sheffield United)
The defender isn't expected to return until next season due to an ankle injury.

2. Doubt: George Baldock (Sheffield United)
The defender appeared to pick up a calf injury while away on international duty.

3. Out: Daniel Jebbison (Sheffield United)
Jebbison could make an appearance before the end of the season after recovering from injury but a return date is unknown.

4. Out: Rhys Norrington-Davies (Sheffield United)
A hamstring injury has brought the defender's season to a premature end.

5. Out: Chris Basham (Sheffield United)
Basham isn't expected to return until August due to a foot injury.

6. Out: John Egan (Sheffield United)
Egan is due to return in May meaning this week's game will come too soon for him.

Archer has been struggling with a calf injury but could be fit enough to be involved against Fulham

8. Doubt: Anis Ben Slimane (Sheffield United)
Another who could be set to return this weekend following the international break

Former Fulham wonderkid shares reason why he snubbed Arsenal move as a teenager
Fulham have seen some big talents emerge through the club's youth ranks but not every prospect can go on to become a Premier League star.

Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho spring to mind in recent times having shown their talent at Craven Cottage.

Both players ended up joining Liverpool and clearly have huge potential for the future.

Mika Biereth is now on the Arsenal books but is now showing his quality on loan with Sturm Graz in Austria.

Ryan Sessegnon has been hit by injuries in recent times whilst Elijah Adebayo is proving Fulham wrong having become a dangerous Premier League striker with Luton Town.

These players have mixed stories; some have lived up to the hype, some have had to battle back from disappointment, some have encountered problems in their development.

One case stands out though as Matthew Briggs has opened up on his struggles after breaking through at Fulham.

Matthew Briggs on Fulham and Arsenal
Wandsworth-born Briggs looked destined for stardom.

The left back joined the Fulham ranks at the age of just 10 and was being touted as the next big thing.

Fulham handed Briggs his Premier League debut in May 2007, making him the youngest player in Premier League history at 16 years and 65 days old.

The aforementioned Elliott ironically broke that record 12 years later but the two players have had different fates.

Briggs struggled with injuries, his loan spells to Leyton Orient, Peterborough United, Bristol City and Watford didn't really go to plan.

In 2014, seven years after his debut, Briggs was released and joined Millwall before heading to Colchester United and Chesterfield.

Barnet, Maldon & Tiptree, Coggeshall Town, HB Koge, Dartford, Vejle, Gosport Borough, Horsham... these are the clubs Briggs ended up joining, which isn't what was expected of his career.

Briggs has now opened up on the entire situation, telling Rising Ballers that he effectively regressed and felt like he lost his footballing ability after his debut.

One key moment surrounds a potential move to Arsenal as Briggs admitted that he was swaying towards joining his friend Craig Eastmond in the Gunners ranks.

Fulham offered the chance of a Premier League debut though and Briggs decided to ditch a move to Arsenal and sign on at Craven Cottage.

"I was still at school, so I need to sign my scholarship. The whole way through my schooling, one of my friends, Craig Eastmond, was at Arsenal at the time and he would always come and say 'come and sign for Arsenal, so-and-so has been trying to get you to come and wants me to talk to you about coming'. It's an attractive club, Arsenal – we're not going to kid anyone here. If they come in for you, you're going to be tempted to go."

"The name Arsenal was like... 'God, I'd love to play for them'. So I started to sway to going there and I've not signed by scholarship yet. Fulham obviously want me to sign and keep offering me the contract, but I'm still umming and ahhing about it. Then my debut comes up and the only way you can play is, obviously, if you sign a professional contract. They've offered me a two-year scholar and a one or two-year pro, and I'm not going to turn down the chance to play in the Prem, so I ended up signing at Fulham."

Briggs went on to make 30 first-team appearances for Fulham but was just never able to reach the heights many expected of him.

Now 33, Briggs accepts that his inner doubts held him back and hearing him speak so openly about his struggles is quite moving.

Briggs is now an academy player mentor at Fulham, meaning he can try and help some of the club's youngsters moving forward, using his own experience to shape the players of the future.

Briggs seems to be in a much better place now and with his playing career over and it's great to see Fulham handing him a role inside the club after his struggles.

Fulham Winger Faces Contract Uncertainty Amidst Transfer Links

Willian's Future Hangs in Balance as Fulham Keeps Hope Alive
In the whirlwind of Fulham's Premier League journey, one seasoned figure, Willian, stands at a crossroads, his future shrouded in uncertainty. The 35-year-old winger, a veteran of the game, finds himself in the midst of a pivotal moment as his contract inches towards its conclusion.

Willian's Dilemma Unveiled
Willian, a stalwart presence in Marco Silva's squad, divulged his inner conflict regarding his future plans. Despite being a linchpin in Fulham's tactical setup, the Brazilian maestro remains undecided. He discloses, "Fulham have already signalled that they want me to stay." Yet, the plot thickens as he confesses to a decisive juncture awaiting at the season's end.

Delaying the Verdict
In a candid conversation with Brazilian outlet Trivela, Willian elaborated on the deliberation process. "They want me to stay, to renew my contract. But together with my agent, we've said that we'll only resolve this at the end of the season," he revealed. This impasse, while frustrating for fans, reflects the weight of the decision looming over the experienced winger.

Club's Intentions Revealed
Marco Silva's sentiments echo the club's desire to retain key personnel. Talks with other pivotal players such as Tosin Adarabioyo, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Kenny Tete underline Fulham's commitment to securing their core assets. However, Willian's situation remains distinct, his decision poised to shape both his own trajectory and Fulham's future aspirations.

Transfer Market Murmurs
Speculation swirls around the transfer market, with Bayern Munich looming as a potential destination for Joao Palhinha, adding further intrigue to Fulham's narrative. Shahid Khan, Fulham's owner, acknowledged the complexities of such scenarios, acknowledging, "If an offer came along and it made sense for everyone, I think that's something you have to consider with every player at the right time."

As the curtains draw on another thrilling Premier League season, Willian finds himself at a crossroads, torn between loyalty and new horizons. Fulham, meanwhile, stands poised to navigate the turbulent waters of the transfer market, balancing ambition with pragmatism. Only time will unveil the next chapter in this gripping saga.
