Fabrizio Romano issues Kalvin Phillips transfer update involving Leeds United and Fulham
Romano doesn't believe there's any concrete interest from Leeds and the Cottagers in City's midfielder at the moment.

Reports linking Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Leeds United are premature at this stage, according to Fabrizio Romano's Daily Briefing.

Phillips, 28, was born in Leeds and started his career with the Whites, rising from the academy to the first team and playing a key role in helping the club secure a return to the Premier League.

Even playing in the Euros final for England whilst he was still at Elland Road, he represented Leeds brilliantly and richly deserved his move to Man City back in the summer of 2022.

Unfortunately for him, he has been unable to push on since then, failing to establish himself as a key player at the Etihad Stadium before moving to West Ham United on loan in January.

His temporary switch to the London Stadium hasn't worked out either, even being involved in an incident with some supporters last month following a disappointing display against Newcastle United.

Latest news on Kalvin Phillips' future amid Leeds United links
The midfielder will need to reassess his future in the summer - but it may take a big fee for a club to lure him away from City this summer - even with his disappointing performances in mind.

With his contract at the Etihad not expiring until the summer of 2028, that puts Pep Guardiola's side in an extremely strong negotiating position and having spent a reported £42m on him, they won't want to make too much of a loss on the midfielder despite his current struggles.

There have been plenty of rumours flying about regarding his future - but transfer insider Romano has poured cold water on some reports.

He wrote: "From what I understand, all reports linking the player [Phillips] with the likes of Leeds and Fulham are really premature as nothing has been decided and nothing is concrete.

"This is not [the] kind of deal for April or May; Leeds' full focus is not on the market but on the Championship now as they chase promotion back to the Premier League."

Leeds United can have the best of both worlds in their promotion quest
Focusing on the short term will be important because the automatic promotion race is so tight at the moment.

However, other figures behind the scenes can focus on the longer term.

The recruitment team will surely be preparing for life in the Premier League and the Championship - and may already have some potential targets lined up ahead of the summer.

Regardless of which league they are in, they need to be fully prepared for the summer, either in their quest to get back to the top flight at the second time of asking or to give themselves the best chance of remaining afloat in the top tier.

With all of the staff they have at the club, they can focus on the short term, whilst also lining up some targets.

Phillips could be a good addition - but spending a huge amount on him would be a risk considering he hasn't been in great form recently.

Fulham 'working' to sign £45m midfielder despite Leeds United interest
Fulham are in for a fascinating summer transfer window and much of the plans may revolve around Joao Palhinha's future at the club.

Dreams of sneaking up into the European mix have been rather unceremoniously dashed.

Fulham went into the international break in great form and had cut the gap to seventh-placed West Ham United to just six points.

One point from three games since coming back from the international break now leaves Fulham 10 points behind West Ham.

Marco Silva won't want this campaign to fizzle out but there may already be one eye on the summer transfer window.

Silva has already hinted that Fulham's transfer plans are in place but much will depend on who stays and who goes.

Questions surround the futures of Antonee Robinson and Tosin Adarabioyo whilst Joao Palhinha is bound to attract interest again.

Fulham target England midfielder
Tony Khan has indicated that Fulham may consider offers for the talismanic midfielder this summer and that would leave Silva needing a replacement.

Football Transfers now claim that Fulham are interested in snapping up Kalvin Phillips this summer.

Phillips currently finds himself on loan at West Ham United but hasn't impressed since arriving from Manchester City in January.

West Ham are unlikely to turn the move permanent this summer and that could now pave the way for Fulham to swoop in.

It's stated that Fulham are 'working on' a move for Phillips, viewing him as a 'marquee' replacement if Palhinha moves on.

Phillips was one of the Premier League's best midfield players at Leeds United but his £45million move to Manchester City in 2022 has been a disaster.

Phillips now looks like a shadow of his former self but Fulham and Silva may believe that he can get back on track at Craven Cottage.

Watch out for Leeds United
The report adds that Leeds have an interest in signing Phillips and that could pose a real threat to Fulham's hopes of a deal.

Phillips came up in the Leeds ranks and has a huge emotional attachment to the Whites.

A return to Elland Road may well appeal to Phillips, especially if he wants to settle down and get his career back on track.

That would depend on Leeds securing promotion back to the Premier League though, with Phillips unlikely to drop into the Championship any time soon.

Leeds currently sit third in the Championship, just one point off the automatic promotion spots and a further point behind first place.

Leeds are facing a nervy end to the season and that may well be why Fulham are allegedly working on a Phillips move now, attempt to gain a head start.

Former top referee rules on this controversial Fulham v Newcastle United incident
Dermot Gallagher reviews controversial decisions in the Premier League after each round of games, on behalf of Sky Sports.

The former top referee has now given his call on this incident in the Fulham v Newcastle United match.

Dermot Gallagher looking at what happened when the game was goalless at Craven Cottage.

Dermot Gallagher talking to Sky Sports about this Fulham 0 Newcastle 1 controversy:
Incident:

With the game goalless and only 15 of the 90 minutes remaining, a cross by Gordon from the right ends up reaching Fabian Schar beyond the far post, he drills the ball past Leno in the Fulham goal. The referee Sam Allison gives the goal but then VAR sends him to the screen at the side of the pitch to consider a possible foul by Dan Burn on a defender when the cross comes in, Allison then disallowing the 'goal'.

Dermot Gallagher:

"Good intervention [by VAR].

"At the time I thought it was a foul on Bassey... and I still do.

"He has both arms in the back.

He pushes him, he gets above him and stops him from heading the ball.

"Foul for me."

For me, the goal should have stood. Just as well Bruno six minutes later made it irrelevant.

Dermot Gallagher says the Burn challenge / foul 'stops him from heading the ball', this is simply not the case as the cross was too high for either Bassey or Burn to get to.

Forgetting about which team you support, I reckon with this kind of incident, as a fan you would expect the goal to stand BUT if it is your team who have conceded, then you HOPE you might get lucky and see it disallowed.

Fulham got lucky in my opinion, at least for six minutes anyway...

Notts County's Luca Ashby-Hammond happy after manager's first Meadow Lane win and clean sheet
Luca Ashby-Hammond saved a penalty during the victory over Harrogate Town, the first home win for manager Stuart Maynard

Loan goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond was happy with the role he played in Stuart Maynard picking up his first home win as Notts County boss.

It was also the first clean sheet at Meadow Lane under Maynard, only made possible because of the efforts of Ashby-Hammond, who saved a penalty and made some other good saves in the 3-0 triumph over Harrogate Town.

Since arriving on loan from Fulham in the January window, the 23-year-old has been in and out of the Notts team, with the rotation of goalkeepers possibly contributing to the team's inconsistencies on the pitch since the turn of the year.

Aside from that, Saturday was a positive moment for Ashby-Hammond and the team as a whole, with everyone playing their part to earn a long-awaited home victory.

He said: "It's been a while since we've had those things [a win and clean sheet] at home, and we've stopped the trend of poor results here, so it is good to put that right.

"Tom [Weal], the goalkeeper coach, does his due diligence in terms of researching penalty takers. [The Harrogate player] went the opposite way with his previous penalty, so I just saw his run up and hoped he was going to go the way I did, and thankfully he did.

"The boys did the business afterwards and I was glad to play the role that I did. A clean sheet is our win as a backline and we hope the boys at the top of the pitch do what we know they can and thankfully we all did it this time."

Ashby-Hammond was on loan at fellow League Two outfit Crawley Town in the first half of the season before being recalled to be sent to the Magpies, and he had had a few other temporary moves previously to build experience,

Game time is what he craves, and he hopes performances like the one against Harrogate can ensure he keeps the gloves for the final couple of matches this term under Maynard, who he has enjoyed working with.

The Fulham loanee added: "I've been on a few loans now including this one, and experience is the main reason for coming. This is the biggest team I've been on loan to in terms of the size of the fanbase and the pressure is high every time we step out onto the pitch.

"I love all those sorts of things and they are things that are seen as positive aspects of a loan move, so I'm very much enjoying my time here. It's always tough [being in and out of the team], as a goalkeeper you like to have a bit of rhythm, but the manager picks who he feels can do the job best and you have to respect that choice.

"It takes a strong character to stick to his philosophy as a manager when results aren't going his way and we as players try to represent him as best we can, which we haven't always done."

Fulham U21s 2-2 Middlesbrough U21s
Fulham Under-21s shared the spoils with Middlesbrough in an action-packed Motspur Park encounter.

An early strike from Pharrell Willis for Boro was cancelled out by Terrell Works, and after away side regained the advantage before the break, Callum Osmand bagged a second equaliser to earn a point.

Willis opened the scoring in spectacular fashion inside ten minutes, cutting in from the right to unleash an effort into the top bracket that left goalkeeper Alfie McNally helpless.

The away side had a chance for a second moments later when AJ Bridge's cross was met by Ajay Matthews in the box, but his header was sent harmlessly wide.

Fulham found an equaliser after quarter of an hour with a slick move between the front three. Adrion Pajaziti slid the ball across to Osmand, who in turn fed Works to finish low past 'keeper Shea Connor.

Pajaziti was then given a shooting opportunity with a free-kick in a dangerous area, but the Boro wall did its job to deflect the strike over.

McNally came to his side's rescue when Matthew Hoppe raced through on goal and tried to take it around him, but the 'keeper managed to claw away the ball.

However, there was little he could do when George Gitau worked the ball onto his left foot in the box and found the bottom corner via a deflection to restore the lead for the visitors.

The Young Whites responded as Delano McCoy-Splatt clipped a ball to onrushing full-back George Okkas, but the Cypriot's half-volley whistled just wide of the post.

But it took an incredible piece of defending from Josh King to prevent further damage being done, as the forward made a heroic goalline clearance to block Luke Woolston's shot from six yards out.

Hayden Mullins' team came out fighting in the second half, as Osmand curled an effort into the side netting and Harvey Araujo rose highest at a corner to head against the post moments later.

The pressure paid off when McCoy-Splatt slid in to win the ball on the right, and whipped in a delicious cross the was gratefully received by Osmand to head in and level the game for a second time.

The two forwards almost linked up for a third, but this time Connor made the save as Osmand tried to direct another McCoy-Splatt delivery towards goal.

Neither side could fashion a late a winner and settled for a point apiece.

West Ham: Cutting Their Losses or Lack of Ambition?
West Ham United's reported pursuit of free agent Tosin Adarabioyo is a move that raises eyebrows. Is it a shrewd bit of business or a sign of reduced ambition?

Adarabioyo's free agent status makes him a financially attractive option compared to their previous target, Harry Maguire.
This shift suggests a transfer strategy prioritising cost-effectiveness over proven quality.

While Adarabioyo has Premier League experience, his reputation doesn't quite match Maguire's.
Is West Ham settling for a cheaper alternative, or is Adarabioyo a genuine upgrade waiting to happen?
Perhaps the fact that David Moyes' reported interest in Adarabioyo suggests he sees potential in the defender.

Nevertheless , signing Adarabioyo is a calculated gamble for West Ham. While it saves money, it remains to be seen if he can fill the void in their central defence as effectively as Maguire could have. The success of this transfer hinges on whether Adarabioyo can thrive under Moyes' guidance and prove himself to be more than just a budget option.

This London football stadium has a spectacular new stand – with a rooftop pool
Fulham's brand-new Riverside Stand also boasts a Michelin-starred restaurant overlooking the Thames

Craven Cottage has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Fulham FC's home ground was first used to play ball in 1896 for an audience of just 250 – and now, over a hundred years later and after several closures, re-openings and renovations, the Cottage has just had its glitziest glow-up yet.

At the heart of Fulham's upgrades is the stadium's Riverside Stand, and in practical terms the renovations will increase the stand's capacity to 8,000 and boost Craven Cottage's overall capacity to 28,500. But that certainly isn't all. Designed by Populous architects, the revamped Riverside Stand promises fans of the club a much more luxe elevated experience – including, excitingly, a rooftop pool. Yep, a pool! In a football stadium! Well I never.

The new stand will offer seven new hospitality venues including the pool, Michelin-starred restaurant The Gourmet (for dining high above the Thames), the Sky Deck (featuring panoramic sunset views) and The Dugout, which will offer ticket-holders a chance to sit right behind the coaches for an 'intimate' game experience.

Shahid Khan, owner of Fulham FC, said that although these plans are intended to offer more luxurious experiences for fans at Craven Cottage, the Riverside Stand's amenities will be accessible on non-match-days too.

'Today isn't about finally being able to offer a higher standard of hospitality options that have essentially been unavailable to Fulham supporters until now. It's about offering the ultimate match day hospitality experience in the world that will also benefit the long-term promise and future of Fulham Football Club,' he said.

The principal architect for the stand, Philip Johnson, said that the project 'demonstrates new ways of designing individual stands, and we are proud to be part of the Club's next chapter'.

Looks like the 2024/25 season will be a bougie one for Cottagers! Renovations at Craven Cottage began back in 2019 and are set to be completed this year, while hospitality packages will be available for purchase from tomorrow (April 9). You can find out more about the upgrades on the Populous website here.

Goal of the Month Result: March

Rodrigo Muniz's stunning overhead kick has been named Fulham's Goal of the Month for March.

Such was the calibre and drama of Muniz's acrobatic stoppage time equaliser against Sheffield United, the GOTM result was never really in doubt, with the Brazilian claiming a mammoth 91.7 per cent of the vote.

Words cannot really do justice to the quality of the strike, so sit back and enjoy every single angle of the goal.

Harry Wilson's curling effort against Brighton came in second with 6.3%, while Josh King, Muniz (versus Tottenham) and Bobby De Cordova-Reid garnered 1.8% of the vote each.

West Ham to join battle to snap up Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo
West Ham plan to enter the race to sign Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer. The centre-back is out of contract at the end of the season but Fulham hope to keep the 26-year-old, who has been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham and Milan.

The former Manchester City defender has had an impressive campaign and has become a key player for Marco Silva. West Ham have been leaky at the back, conceding 56 times in the league, and David Moyes has concerns over his options at centre-back. Nayef Aguerd, the Morocco international, is expected to be up for sale and Kurt Zouma, West Ham's captain, has had fitness issues.

Aguerd has lost his place in the lineup to Konstantinos Mavropanos, who joined from Stuttgart for £19m last summer, but Moyes's team have kept one clean sheet in the league since the turn of the year. West Ham are likely to need at least one defender given that Angelo Ogbonna, the 35-year-old Italian, is out of contract this summer.

They were interested in the Wolves centre-back Max Kilman in January. However Wolves would be reluctant to lose Kilman on the cheap. Signing Adarabioyo on a free could be canny business, particularly as he would help to boost West Ham's dwindling homegrown contingent.

Osmand rescues a point for Fulham U21s
A second half header from Callum Osmand rescued a point for Fulham's under 21s in an end-to-end epic at Motspur Park at lunchtime.

The hosts had to come from behind twice with an adventurous Boro side taking the lead through Pharrell Willis' early drive before winger Terrell Works' close-range finish drew Fulham level. The visitors led again after George Gitau's deflected effort beat Alfie McNally, but Osmand nodded in an inviting cross from Delano McCoy-Splatt to give the young Whites a share of the spoils.

Boro's boldness was encapsulated by the manner of their opening goal, when the wily Willis scored a sensational goal, firing into the top corner after coming in from the right wing. They almost doubled their advantage from their very next attack when Ajay Matthews wasted a good headed chance from AJ Bridge's ball in.

Fulham's first fluent move of the match brought an equaliser. In-form midfielder Adrion Pajaziti picked out Osmand in space and the centre forward's ball was clinically turned home by Works. Hayden Mullins' side were galvanised by the goal, with Pajaziti powering a free-kick from range that was deflected over by the wall.

But Boro remained dangerous with McNally making a magnificent save to prevent Matthew Hope from restoring their lead as he bore down on goal, with the goalkeeper smothering the danger and pawing the ball to safety. He was helpless when Gitau's drive hit a Fulham defender and rolled into the far corner.

Hayden Mullins' men tried to regain parity before half-time with George Okkas hammering a half-volley just wide, but Fulham were indebted to an outstanding goal-line clearance from Josh King, who somehow kept out Luke Woolston's six-yard strike. The visitors more than merited a half-time lead, but Fulham were on the offensive with after the restart Osmand finding the side netting with an early sighter and Harvey Araujo rattling the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Just before the hour mark, McCoy-Splatt started the move that led to Fulham's second leveller, winning a crunching tackle on the right wing and then found Osmand with a lovely cross that the striker gleefully headed home. Osmand was denied a late winner from another McCoy-Splatt ball but Shea Connor made a stunning save.

Wolves 'Considering' Summer Striker Move for Jonas Wind
Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering whether to test Wolfsburg's resolve by launching a summer bid for Jonas Wind

Wolverhampton Wanderers have Jonas Wind on their list of potential summer recruits after he has impressed scouts with his performances for Wolfsburg.
Fulham have joined Wolves in mulling over whether to swoop in for the Denmark international when the transfer window reopens.
Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil is also considering a move for Armando Broja despite his loan spell with Fulham failing to go to plan.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are contemplating whether to make a summer move for Wolfsburg star Jonas Wind after the Molineux scouting department have been keeping tabs on his progress ahead of potentially heading to the negotiating table, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Having seen Wolves throw away a one-goal lead against West Ham United to extend their winless run to three Premier League outings, leaving their hopes of qualifying for a European competition in jeopardy, head coach Gary O'Neil is scouring the market for reinforcements ahead of the transfer window reopening for business.

Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan are going into the final weeks of the campaign as the West Midlands outfit's joint-top goalscorers, thanks to finding the back of the net 11 times in all competitions, but Wind has worked his way onto their radar thanks to his fine form in a Wolfsburg shirt.

Wanderers Keeping Tabs on Wind as O'Neil Seeks Attacking Reinforcements
Fulham also monitoring Danish attacker ahead of summer window

Wolves are continuing to mull over whether to pounce for Wind ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, according to GMS sources, as O'Neil is fully focused on drafting in fresh forward options and has gained confidence that the Denmark international is ready to embark on a fresh challenge.

The 25-year-old is due to enter the final two years of his Wolfsburg contract in the summer, which allows him to pocket slightly more than £33,500-per-week, and has also gained admiring glances from Fulham thanks to his promising form in the final third of the pitch during the first half of the season.

Wind has found the back of the net 10 times in 31 appearances this season, while he has also provided his teammates with a further eight assists, and GMS sources understand that Wolves are keen to fight off stiff competition from their Premier League rivals as they continue putting plans in place ahead of O'Neil's second campaign at the helm despite their target failing to score since November.

Fulham are considering whether to make a move for the former FC Copenhagen marksman despite Rodrigo Muniz becoming one of the first names on the team sheet during his goal-laden spell as he has been tracked by the Craven Cottage hierarchy for a prolonged period of time.

But Wolves could be handed a boost in their attempts to overcome the west Londoners' threat of hijacking a deal for Wind as the Cottagers will also have Jay Stansfield returning following a loan spell with Championship strugglers Birmingham City and are likely to welcome him back into the fold after performing well in the second tier.

O'Neil Keen on Broja Despite Struggles During Loan Spell
Wolves could be forced to contend with £50m valuation

GMS sources have been told that Wolves could also attempt to land Armando Broja after he has struggled to make an impact during his loan spell at Fulham, and O'Neil is keen to discover whether he will remain at Craven Cottage or be put on the market by parent club Chelsea.

The Albania international has been restricted to just 52 minutes of action since moving onto pastures new during the final hours of the winter transfer window, thanks to Muniz's prolific form, and there is uncertainty over where he will be plying his trade heading into next season.

Fulham Check Up On AC Milan Starlet
Fulham have taken soundings about the situation of AC Milan starlet Jan Carlo Simic, but the defender is intending to stay at the San Siro.

The teenager is in the middle of his breakthrough season, having been handed his senior debut in December last year.

The occasion became even more special when he scored his first goal from the heart of defence for the Rossoneri in that very match.

Though he has added only three more appearances to his name since then, he is rated highly by the Serie A giants.

His potential has caught the attention of Premier League side Fulham who, along with Bournemouth, have been asking about his situation, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

However, Simic does not intend to leave AC Milan.

The Rossoneri are now looking at a new contract for Simic to reflect his importance at the club given he earns much less than his team-mates.

AC Milan could look to loan Simic out when he signs his new deal, but the final decision will be for the coach to make.

West Ham United reportedly offering lucrative deal to sign Fulham player
Fulham's season has taken a dip since the international break and the summer transfer window will soon come into focus.

We could hardly blame any Fulham fan who was dreaming of qualifying for Europe after beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 in March.

Just one point in three games since the international break means those hopes are pretty much over though and Fulham's season could fizzle out a little.

Fulham are pretty much safe and European action is moving further and further away, so the main goal right now may just be to improve on last season's 13th-place finish.

Some supporters may even have one eye on the summer transfer window with the end of the season now in sight.

Fulham face a potentially difficult window with Antonee Robinson and Joao Palhinha set to attract major interest from top Premier League clubs.

West Ham United move for Fulham star
Then there is defender Tosin Adarabioyo, whose contract comes to an end this summer.

The centre back can leave for nothing in just a couple of months and Fulham have been fighting to keep him out of Liverpool's clutches.

A tall, homegrown defender with some untapped potential, Adarabioyo was always bound to attract attention.

TEAMtalk now claim that West Ham United are offering Adarabioyo a lucrative move to East London this summer.

It's suggested that West Ham are hoping to steal a march on the competition for Adarabioyo and are offering regular first-team playing time.

The thought is that teams like Liverpool may only offer Adarabioyo the chance to become a squad player.

West Ham believe that the regular playing time can give them the advantage over interested clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham – and their move makes an exit seem all the more likely.

Adarabioyo stay looks unlikely
We can understand Adarabioyo being somewhat attracted to West Ham.

The Hammers won a European trophy last season and are, frankly, just ahead of Fulham right now.

If Adarabioyo was going to stay put, we would have surely heard more encouraging noises about him signing a new deal.

All we have heard is that an offer is on the table but nothing indicating that Adarabioyo is even interested in signing on.

That makes an exit seem all the more likely and if West Ham offer bigger wages than Fulham, we may well see him in claret and blue next season.

Seeing Adarabioyo join a London rival would sting a little and we would hope that Fulham already have a potential replacement in mind with Adarabioyo looking likely to move on.

Report – £50million star prepared to agree Manchester United move
Manchester United need a new striker to reinforce the department and reports indicate Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham would be ready to agree a move to Old Trafford.

As per an exclusive story covered by GiveMeSport, the Brazilian center forward dreams of joining Man Utd, however, he is not going to come for cheap.

The news source have mentioned that Man Utd must splash a big amount of £50million for the South American, who has been in top class form lately.

It must be remembered that back in 2021, the Cottagers paid a fee of just 8 million euros to sign the striker from Flamengo (GE).

In the current campaign, so far, Muniz has only started 13 games in the Premier League for Fulham and directly contributed in 9 goals (8 goals and 1 assist).

Last summer, Man Utd broke the bank to lure Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta but so far, the Danish international has only netted 7 goals in 23 league games.

Anthony Martial has spent majority of the time on the treatment table in the current campaign and the Frenchman's contract at Old Trafford will expire in June.

Therefore, the quality and depth of the strike-force must be improved in the summer transfer window.

In your opinion, should Man Utd bid £50million to sign Rodrigo Muniz?

Agree it wasn't a foul, it was an assault. Forearm into the back of Bassey's neck.

Agree it wasn't a foul, it was an assault. Forearm into the back of Bassey's neck.

Whether the ball was over Bassey or Dunk's heads isn't the point. Because Bassey had been shoved onto the ground he was unable to defend the subsequent shot on the goal-line.

Absolutely agree with the above and I feel the Newcastle fan is somewhat biased. No doubt has it been the other way round he would have a different opinion.
