on a free its a risk worth taking.
Last 2 were willian and traore. No complaints from me. If it doesnt work out we haven't lost much at all

Big fan of Traore and think there's more to come but I wouldn't say he's been a success quite yet? Been largely injured too.

When Traore is not injured he causes the opponent's defence absolute havoc

Indeed "baby oil" Adama is quicker than the District line into Putney Bridge station.
that's worth a chuckle

Quote from: General on July 25, 2024, 07:35:15 PMJust realised we've got another Sessegnon still at the club in the U15's - Kayden Sessegnon

https://www.instagram.com/kaysessegnon11/

Does anyone know about him and how good he is? Seems to be a RW.

This video shows he's got quite a bit of skill - plus perhaps a bit more of a one on one dribbler than either of the other Sess's who tend to try and beat their man with pace... https://www.instagram.com/p/Cv5k0nbrBGj/?img_index=1

It seems that Steven Sessegnon and Ryan have a brother and Kayden's Steven and Ryan's nephew..

Seems like Fulham and Sessegnon's really are a family thing..

From the little I know he is pretty good but not sure he is a star

Hope it works out with Sess on his return but I for one am dubious and underwhelmed. He's done nothing since he left us and has also been plagued by injuries, as has Steven. Nice lad and all that and signed a contract before leaving so we got a fee but although he's coming in on a free he'll still have a contract and salary, also not sure where he'll fit in, he's no LB for sure, more of a left winger. Hopefully we'll have more incoming soon...

Also a freebie which helps push budget into other players rather than looking at someone like Bruun Larsen for 6m

I think you're spot on with the BDR comparison. Worse case scenario he can fill a nice bench role as a winger sub or as an emergency full back. Castagne or Bassey can fill in if needed at LB as well. So I think they have the back up LB covered and can move those funds elsewhere for ESR or Andre if needed.

Masterpiece of a deal. Cost nothing, Fulham boy, 24, nice lad and we know he has the talent. Keep injury free and show Spurs what you can do.
Now let's get Fabio back.
With ERs and possibly Andre it's getting a little exciting now

Bracken White

For me, this is both outstanding & exhilarating. The lad is a total footballer who just instinctively knows where to be at the right place at the right time. Guess he can lack a bit of confidence at times but with MS's coaching prowess it is a win-win deal for all. Hoping that his injury issues are over & I must add that I thought Sessegnon to Palace was a done deal - so couldn't help but be a tad jealous. Terrific & with, seemingly, other irons in the fire things are becoming exciting!

The main "problem" with Sessegnon is that everyone except Fulham seems to think he is a LB whereas we KNOW he's much better a winger/poacher.

If we sign him mainly as cover for Robinson at LB... not particularly exciting news, although it can still be a clever signing that allows us to spend money on other positions.

If Silva thinks he can find a way to utilize Sessegnon's strengths as a winger/poacher it could be VERY exciting news though, and a reboot of Sess' career. But I'm not convinced that Robinson and Sess is an ideal partnership on our left. Sess needs those clinical through passes, and let's face it, with Robinson's passing accuracy (or lack thereof...) that's not gonna happen. The Robinson-Willian partnership was more about Robinson bombing forward, making a short pass to Willian and let him do the rest. That's probably not gonna work with Sess AT ALL. Sess doesn't have Willian's dribbling skills and technique.

But if Silva somehow finds a way to make it work, it could be VERY exciting news indeed! And even if it turns out a bit underwhelming, it still feels nice to have Sess back at the club. And to have gotten 25m from Spurs in the process, for practically nothing.  ::wine::  Maybe this will teach them to stay away from our youngsters. ::thumb::

If played at LB I can see him being roasted by Premier forwards.

Welcome back Agent Sessegnon your mission to pull Levi pants down a complete success.

With regards to Sessegnon return I think it's a decent free transfer allowing for doubts where injuries concerned.
Being he can do a job or fill in if required it still feels to me that unless suspensions or injuries there has been a regression in that area of team. Would I take Willian at his age over Sess absolutely would I look at someone like Doughty of Luton as cover for Robinson Yes! Looking at squad currently it's probably only Iwobi who would be the most comfortable over on the left? So unless we are bringing in another left sided attacking player or Willian coming back then Sessegnon signing possibly makes sense? Whether it's the solution 40/60 for me.
