great photo, great memories however it got me thinking, Pompy were in their "new" (following seasons) away strip presumably for marketing reasons.

I have 2 questions:
1) can you remember another game where both teams wore their away strip?
2) can a team introduce another shirt/strip part way into a season? AmericanMike confirmed on here a while ago that the club(s) have to 'register' their kits with the FA a year or so before, so how did Pompy get away with playing in a "new" kit before the end of the season?

i remember Chelsea playing the Champions League final in a new shirt and Pompey an FA cup final. Presumably that was at the end of the season officially and allowed.

Perhaps Portsmouth registered the kit for that game to be different or the deal with their old sponsors expired?
