Because we waited til the very last day to do more deals than we were able to manage in a go; given both Feyenoord and Botafogo rejected deals they may have accepted earlier in the window; and just eeking a striker across the line. It's my definition of scattergun.

Appreciate you like to be optimistic, but I think excessively so.

Interestingly I'd heard from my cousin (big Feyenoord fan and well connected there) that we'd contacted Feyenoord about Hwang at the beginning of last week. Turns out he was right!

Yeah that makes sense. Of course not everything in the media is completely correct. I do wish we didn't leave every deal til towards the end of the window. I'm sure the club has reasons why they do this, but it seems overly risky to me.

You're being kind calling it weird. If true, it gives anyone critical of this summer's transfer planning all the ammunition they need. Reactionary instead of proactive was the likely strategy. Getting turned down for Danilo after bidding 8 million Euros MORE than he was purchased for 7 weeks earlier is incredible.
