Apologies for those who hate the general gist of this thread, but I'm kicking it off now for keeping track of transfer rumours, as well as news on contract renewals because I appreciate that some of us spend a decent amount of time on Twitter/X and see a lot of this stuff first hand, however there'll be quite a few people that don't. I'll do a bit of a summary for the first post of stuff I've seen in the last week or so and then it will descend into the usual chaos ::beer::

FWIW I reckon page 29 before the first signing :slap:

Thanks Deeping i'm not on any of those sorts of things. Think Silly Transfer is fun if you don't take it too seriously. Cheers

Be massive if we can get King Kenny to resign so great news that it doesn't sound dead yet. If he does with options we have on the others should we trigger them we don't have a single first team player to replace. Great position to be in if it happens and unlike the last two years can hopefully focus on either upgrades or youth prospects without fear of leaving ourselves short.

No Brazilian press rumours yet?. All last summer we were signing Andre and all last winter we were selling Periera.

Hoping we can get a centre half who doesn't turn his back on the ball when facing a shot.

I think if we renew Adama, Cairney, Jimenez and Tete we only actually need 3 signings. New Winger (would love us to show ambition), New DM/CM and then another striker (preferably one that could also play wing too)

I think to be honest the first 3 are all good enough as squad members and back-up options and then Tete is still good enough as a starter. I think talk of a complete rebuild is just reactionary and unnecessary

What's peoples opinion on Raheem Sterling? Has hardly pulled up any trees on loan at The Arsenal and not likely to have any future at Chelsea? Is he the type at a cut price deal & wages dependent who perhaps is no longer seen as a top tier player but could be very suitable to a team like us? Expectations would be lower and though not the most composed in front of goal he still has genuine quick pace. Think over a season he offers you more than say Nelson or even Traore to a certain degree. Just wonder if Silva could revitalise someone like him and get him playing regularly to restore some confidence as he looks lost currently? Give him a bit of TLC and could be an 10+ goal a season player form an attacking position.

Not for me- he really looks a shadow of the player of yesteryear. Marco has 'repurposed' many but I thinks it's time for younger blood

Great news if Tete stays.

I would suggest it is time for the following to depart; reed, Nelson, Willian, Vinicius, godo, Cairney, AP, Raul.

I would keep Adama, but looks like he's going too

On that basis I would like to see;

An investment in a young player at left back
An investment in two young central midfielders
An investment in a young LW
A starting RW
A starting CF

Strange situation, he was given a huge contract - supposedly £325k (according to the Guardian). Nobody is ever going to pay anything like that - imagine he'll be on loan and Chelsea pay majority of salary or go to MLS / Middle East.

One of the biggest divers in the league!
And so a NO from me.

I totally would. I think given regular game time that he would still be at a level that is above most if not all of our current wingers. Plus he has always seemed a player that needs to know that he is wanted, something that hasn't really happened for years.

Obviously he would have to take a huge, huge pay cut but I would expect to see him at a London club of our size in the next season or two.

I agree with the above.
Would be sad to see Cairney leave but his influence in games has diminished this season, maybe due to lack of game time.
AP has certainly made a positive difference despite some critics but the lack of goals (even 5 or 6 a season) is an issue.
