And there was I having a nice glass of red to celebrate the win and I felt compelled to check. First double over Brentford since the 1947/48 season when we won 5-0 at home and 2-0 away.

I knew that you would know!   And sorry to interrupt the vino, you may now continue.
Can you tell us the last time Leno saved a pen?

Twig

Wasn't able to follow it because, slightly odd, I had a fly fishing lesson.  Absolutely delighted obviously but especially after that sh1t show against Everton.  Also so pleased for TC, whatever he does at the end of this season and for Wilson who some on here would get rid of.

Don't know what to say really, only shows we attack trust the players to a man to make forward passes and score goals .we win the game simples.

Old Trafford in the shoot out. No idea when in a match though

I can not but StatMan Richard might.  ::thumb::

Jules

I really cannot stand that team. Long balls, long throws like Stoke 15 years ago. Frank looking like hes chewing a wasp. Neanderthal fans. Hey Jude. Players desperately diving in box. Horrible. So happy to do the double over them. COYW!

I don't really understand how you have players like Schade/Wissa/Mbuemo and still embrace the long throw as a primary weapon. It's enough to make you consider Wenger's kick-ins.

Somerset Fulham

I am not sure who I could pick as MoM. I think ultimately it has to be Leno for the penalty save and that point blank one toward the end, but say it quietly, I thought that Andersen and Raul were both outstanding today too.

I also wonder how Berge would fare if he was allowed to push a little further forward, although he is good at it,  he seems to be stifled in the role that he currently has.

Just noticed that a few sites haven't credited Adama with the assist for Jimenez's goal - that's crazy

I think the only penalty Leno has saved in a PL game for FFC before today was on 8 May 2023 v Leicester when he saved Vardy's penalty. 17 penalties (I think) have been been put past him in league games for us in nearly 3 seasons. So 2 v 17.

Quote from: hopper on May 18, 2025, 05:24:59 PMWhat a bizarre season, but definitely a huge positive for us is that we've had some unbelievable moments in local derbies that mean the most.

Harry in particular has really written his name into folklore.

God it's nice to upset those Bees fans on a big day for them on their final home match of the season.

What a bizarre season indeed, getting our most points ever in the PL but we're joint first for most points lost in winning position and I'm pretty sure we're top 3 for most points gained in a losing position. Anywho, Wilson has some shot in him. Glad we are keeping him for another season.

Going to say Adama should get the MoM with two assists. Well, he officially has one but I'm not sure why the assist for the first goal wasn't credited to him.

Two years and ~10 days ago against Leicester/Vardy. He's faced 20 non shootout penalties for us (19 in the league, 1 in the FA Cup) and saved 2.

His cross was deflected (which is also why Tete didn't get an assist on Cairney's goal). Adama also played a big role in Brentford's first.

Beating them always feels that little bit more satisfying, and knowing we've likely ended their season doing it is extra special

I wasn't able to follow it because I was out mackerel fishing on a kayak off Seaford. I almost burst a blood vessel when I heard the result driving home. I'm about to bbq the silvery beauties and wash them  down with some fine Sussex beer. COYW!

Quote from: LC on May 18, 2025, 05:12:54 PMJosh King looks like a real talent. I expect to see a lot more of him next season for us. Hopefully we get him on a long term contract soon.

Rumour is that his ambitions will take him elsewhere rather than signing for us.

"That`s a good idea" to quote Captain Mainwaring I`ll grab one of my kayaks (probably the 10 footer) chuck in a couple of rods and go fishing off Worthing/Goring beach tomorrow. Up the Fulham.

I'm so jealous, I sold my kayaks to guys in Seaford last year funny enough & we seriously miss them!
