Manchester City's huge cash injection over the last two years has been reflected in the latest list of football's top salaries. The cash-rich Premier League side featured prominently in the top fifty, with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure all featuring inside the top twenty players. Manchester United have four of the world's best paid players compared to Manchester City's six, and the list, compiled by 30 of the world's top football publications and published by respected Brazilian website Futebolfinance.com, throws up one or two intriguing results. Chelsea FC have more representatives than any other Premier League team with seven players, while Liverpool FC have just two, and Arsenal's sole player in the top 50 is Andrey Arshavin.

Manchester City's six players are the aforementioned Carlos Tevez (8), Emmanuel Adebayor (6), Kolo Toure (19), and also Robinho (21), Gareth Barry (35) and Wayne Bridge (44). Adebayor, Tevez and Toure all earn more than Manchester United's Wayne Rooney (20), who is Sir Alex Ferguson's second top earner behind the new England captain Rio Ferdinand (18). Chelsea FC pair John Terry (9) and Frank Lampard (10) both pull in more a month than Liverpool FC talisman Steven Gerrard (14). Arsenal's Arshavin (47) is Arsene Wenger's top earner and is just above Ryan Giggs.

Manchester City's Wayne Bridge earns more than eleven times Premier League winner Ryan Giggs (49), while both Adebayor and Tevez are easily ahead of Manchester United stalwart Rio Ferdinand. The other Manchester United player on the list is Dimitar Berbatov (46) who earns more than Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin. Liverpool FC striker Fernando Torres (34) earns more than Manchester City's Gareth Barry and less than Chelsea's Ashley Cole but again is some way behind his Premier League counterparts Tevez and Adebayor.

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is the world's top earner ahead of Barcelona duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lionel Messi. Manchester City star Emmanuel Adebayor, formerly of Arsenal is the Premier League's highest earner according to the list.

How the Premier League was represented inside the top four: -

Chelsea: John Terry, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Deco, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Nicolas Anelka.

Manchester City:  Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, Kolo Toure, Robinho, Gareth Barry, Wayne Bridge

Manchester United: Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Ryan Giggs

Liverpool FC: Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres

Arsenal FC: Andrey Arshavin

If I was Tevez I'd be pissed. Adebayor making more than him?

I don't think Torres is too happy either making the same as Gareth Barry

Remember when people on here were suggesting we bring Wayne Bridge back?  I don't think that's going to happen...  ;D

I'd like to see where the Russian and Ukrainian (maybe even Turkey?) leagues stack with this.
