What was heart warming was when the Wednesday fans were leaving at the end of the game at Leicester on Saturday,the whole Leicester crowd were all on their feet applauding the Wednesday fans..Great to see the football family care,even if it's not their club.

I think you're missing the point in football clubs these days.

Chairman's are not allowed to throw their own money into clubs.

Clubs spend the money that the club earns.

Currently the prem does not allow chairman's to insert much of their own money.

So chairman's do not spend money on players. The club does.

I can see you point there, and you're correct, though what happens if the club, for example, needs to build a new stand? With someone like an owner who has collateral it's far easier to raise such funds by way of loans, without having to rely on the club itself.

I can see you point there, and you're correct, though what happens if the club, for example, needs to build a new stand? With someone like an owner who has collateral it's far easier to raise such funds by way of loans, without having to rely on the club itself.

And while, yes, sometimes it is the chairman who gives the money for the stadium, in the form of loans.

Which even if the chairman leaves the club, the loan still exists and they will get their money back. So even in this sense it's the club that pays.

Also, if a chairman with 49% has given that loan, it's still in their interest for the club to grow.
