Nottingham Forest 'set their sights' on PL boss as Nuno replacement with Marinakis 'a big admirer'
Nottingham Forest have reportedly 'set their sights' on Fulham boss Marco Silva amid Nuno Espírito Santo's fall-out with the board.

Despite guiding them to European football last season, Nuno's future at Forest is thought to be less than certain after a very public falling out with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The Greek businessman stormed onto the pitch at the City Ground last season and there were question marks as to whether Nuno would even be in charge for last weekend's game against Crystal Palace.

Now, Football Insider claim the Nottinghamshire club want to line up Fulham boss Marco Silva as Nuno's replacement.

Their sources say 'Marinakis is a big admirer of Silva' and the owner wants 'a proven Premier League manager who would be able to make an instant impact with a squad that he is convinced is well equipped to challenge for a European place this season, while also competing in the Europa League.'

Silva has been at Craven Cottage since July 2021 and guided them back to the Premier League in 2022. In the summer of 2023, he turned down a £40m two-year offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli to stay in the Premier League. Football Insider also suggest Silva rejected an approach from Spurs this summer.

Forest may be hoping to use Silva's frustration over transfers as a way of luring him from the London club. Fulham have spent the smallest amount this summer, having invested around £400k on two arrivals.

The former Hull and Everton boss spoke publicly about his frustration with Fulham's transfer dealings, saying it was "not normal" and that they could "have a big problem on our hands" if deals are not done before the window closes.

"We have to [buy players] to have a chance," he told Sky Sports. "Right now, luckily the window is still open. If not we have a big problem on our hands.

"It is not normal at this stage of the season, we just signed one free agent player.

"We are light. It is not ideal. We are completely late. It is not enough time, but we put ourselves in this position and we need to find the solution."

Nuno, meanwhile, is to meet with Marinakis this week as well as sporting director Edu, whom many believe the true friction is with.

The Portuguese boss did, however, say he would not resign under any circumstances, meaning that if Forest do want to bring Silva in, they will have to pay off the remaining three years of Nuno's deal, which was only signed in the summer.

Fulham close deal for player – Financials agreed, loan or permanent possible
Fulham have closed a deal with AC Milan for winger Samuel Chukwueze, with him either set to join permanently or on loan. That's after reports earlier today that the Rossoneri were stalling because they want to use the attacker in their next match.

That's according to journalist Orazio Accomando, who reports that Fulham and Milan have reached an agreement on their valuation of the player.

Any deal for him will be worth €22m plus €2m in bonuses that deal has been agreed and the final details are now being worked on between the two clubs.

Chukwueze will move to Fulham either on a permanent transfer or on loan. If it is the latter, it will include an obligation to buy him next summer for Fulham.

There is no mention of an agreement between Marco Silva's side and the player but various reports over the last few days have had them pushing to sign the Nigerian before the end of the transfer window.

The Portuguese coach has been left frustrated by his side's lack of business so far this summer but now appears to be close to adding at least one new player to his squad, with a deal now in place with Milan for Chukwueze.

Whether this agreement is contingent on that Friday issue, with AC Milan facing Lecce away, is unclear.

Acheampong impressed in GW1 and is more talented than the older Tosin, and Chelsea kept a clean sheet against a good Palace team. However Maresca prefers Tosin and his skillset as his Colwill replacement.
    Jackson has returned from his ban, but with his Chelsea career reportedly over and on the verge of leaving the club, and Joao Pedro and Delap both started against West Ham last Friday in a 5-1 win. He is still set to leave the club this summer.
    Estevao started and registered an assist against West Ham in GW2 after impressing off the bench in GW1. It is safe to assume he and Neto will start on the wings once again although Gittens is a factor.
    Reece James cannot and does not play more than 1 game a week. That is why he did not start last week with only 6 days between Chelsea's GW1 and GW2 games. He should be ready to start against Fulham in GW3.

    Sessegnon and Robinson returned to the match-day squad in GW2 against Man United, with Sessegnon fit enough to start and Robinson making an appearance off the bench and picking up where he left off last season delivering the key assist to Smith-Rowe to equalise.
    Robinson will start in GW3.
    Sessegnon did start games at RW last season when Fulham had injuries. It will be interesting to see if Harry Wilson gets that RW spot back, after an impressive pre-season and key cameos off the bench last season, or whether Sessegnon might make that spot his own with Robinson now back fit to start at left-back.
    Young Josh King started in the number 10 role ahead of Pereira and Smith-Rowe in GW1 and GW2 and played fairly well. He is clearly a young player Silva believes in prefers in that role ahead of  Smith-Rowe and Pereira as things stand. A £4.5m Midfielder in FPL starting in an attacking role will certainly have people talking.
    Muniz has simply been too impressive and productive in small samples, last season and in GW1 where he calmly took the last minute equalising goal fantastically well. He then did start in GW2 against United. He looks to be Fulham's starting striker moving forward.

Fulham retain Samuel Chukwueze move, AC Milan undecided
Fulham will reportedly look to sign 26-year-old Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze from Serie A club AC Milan in the final days of the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Samuel Chukwueze is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the final days of the transfer window. So, the 26-year-old AC Milan winger has emerged as a target for the West London outfit.

The Cottagers have reignited their interest in the AC Milan winger after unsuccessfully pursuing his signature in the winter transfer window. However, the Serie A giants are "undecided" on whether they want to cash in on the African attacker in the coming week.

Samuel Chukwueze has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining AC Milan from Villarreal in July 2023. The 26-year-old rose in prominence during his spell in La Liga, but he has not stamped his authority at the Serie A club. The player has been in and out of the starting lineup at AC Milan in the last two years, with his game time dwindling in the 2024/25 campaign.

The Nigerian international has managed only eight goals and six assists in 70 appearances thus far for AC Milan. However, Chukwueze's stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs keen on signing him. Fulham will look to secure his services before the summer transfer window shuts down next week.

London calling?
Fulham's interest in Samuel Chukwueze is understandable. The Cottagers were keen on signing the former Villarreal winger earlier this year before the deal failed to materialise. However, the eagerness to sign him has not waned, as Marco Silva wants more firepower in the final third.

Fulham lost Willian and Reiss Nelson when the summer transfer window opened, and several candidates, including Federico Chiesa, have emerged on the West London club's radar. However, Chukwueze is also a viable target, with Fulham reviving the move for the 26-year-old winger.

While Fulham will chase AC Milan winger's signature in the final week of the summer transfer window, the Serie A giants are undecided on their stance on his future. Otele set to feature: Fulham, Forest, Crystal Palace and Birmingham to monitor FCK v Basel
Allnigeriasoccer.com can report that as many as sixteen clubs will have scouts in attendance at Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League playoff second leg clash between FC Copenhagen and FC Basel at Parken Stadium.

Among the clubs sending representatives are Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City, with the English teams keen to assess potential reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

Fulham's focus will be firmly on Basel's Nigerian winger Philip Otele, who has been extensively monitored by their recruitment team.

The Cottagers have already watched him on six occasions this season, underlining their strong interest in the versatile forward.

Otele, 26, has made an impressive start to the campaign, contributing five goal involvements — three goals and two assists — and has caught the eye with his ability to operate across the front line, from centre forward to either wing.

Although it remains unclear whether Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Birmingham are also targeting the Nigerian, Otele's profile has risen sharply since joining Basel permanently in the summer.

Fulham have resumed talks with Shakhtar Donetsk aimed at a completing a deal to sign their Brazilian winger Kevin, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist suggests that the parties are closer to an agreement than during the previous negotiations with the fee under discussion believed to be in the region of £34.5m. Romano reports that Kevin's possible arrival at Craven Cottage is in addition to the signing of Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent basis from AC Milan.

Arsenal handed £56m transfer twist as 'advanced negotiations' claim made for double deal
The latest Arsenal transfer news with the immediate future of Reiss Nelson appearing set for a dramatic twist.

Arsenal have been handed a potential transfer blow with talks elsewhere advancing over a double deal for one of their Premier League rivals. The Gunners have endured a very successful summer thus far with Eberechi Eze joining as the seventh new signing to take spending north of £250million.

Such a significant set of moves being made has seen departures become the obvious priority and with one of those appearing to edge closer, another addition is being targeted. With Porto actively pursuing Jakub Kiwior, Arsenal are taking steps towards trying to snap-up Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen - as football.london understands.

If that deal goes through, it is fair to say that sporting director Andrea Berta has certainly mastered sanctioning new arrivals but, as things stand, he has struggled to agree any favourable exits. That is largely down to Arsenal's lack of sellable assets, but their high valuations have certainly not helped matters.

That was likely what put Bundesliga club Stuttgart off signing Fabio Vieira after holding talks, though Bayern are keeping tabs on his situation. Reiss Nelson has also been at the centre of negotiations with Fulham keen to bring him back on another loan.

The 24-year-old saw his first spell at Craven Cottage cut short by a hamstring injury, which required surgery, but he has since recovered and is expected to depart Emirates Stadium either permanently or temporarily before Monday, September 1.

Re-joining Fulham appeared the most likely scenario but the latest update on their business has made it very hard to foresee him heading back there. According to journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Fulham are 'advancing in talks' to sign Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze of Shakhtar Donetsk and AC Milan, respectively.

Several bids for Kevin have already been rejected by the Ukrainian club this month but it now looks as though they are making progress with a package in excess of £34.5million (€40m) being discussed.

As for Chukwueze, Fulham will pay just over £21.6million (€25m) if they sign him on a permanent basis.

How Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze will elevate Fulham's attack
Here's a closer look at our two (pending) new recruits.

Marco's prayers look like they might finally be answered with not one but two wingers. Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday that Fulham are in advanced talks to sign Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee worth over €40m alongside AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze for a package worth €25m.

After losing both Willian and Reiss Nelson in the summer, signing wide options were crucial while also ensuring they raise Fulham's ceiling in the process. So, how do both of these signings fit that mould?

Another Samba star?
Towards the latter stages of last season things went a bit flat. Too predictable in the final third? Tired legs from a thin squad? A lack of dynamism when it really mattered? All these were valid concerns when watching Marco Silva's side from March onwards, and while I won't pretend to have watched much of Shakhtar, from a statistical point of view Kevin is certainly one to get excited about.

Compared to other wingers in the top five leagues over the last year (this should be taken with a slight pinch of salt given the quality of the Ukrainian League) Kevin has shone. Some 4.9 progressive carries per 90, 5.10 successful take-ons and 0.39 non-penalty goals put him in the top 1% across Europe. Equally, 2.55 touches in the attacking penalty area (top 10%) and 3.92 progressive passes received (top 12%) showcases just how lively the left-winger has been on his way to winning the player of the season award for Shakhtar.

Don't get me wrong, there are still areas that need improvement (as expected for a 22 year old). Scoring low on passes attempted (24.12 compared to Alex Iwobi's 46.92), and a pass completion of 74.8% puts him in the bottom 8%, and just 1.76 progressive passes (compared to Alex Iwobi's 6.58) indicates a desire to be the main focal point sometimes to his own detriment.

These are all things that can easily be ironed out. We've seen it time and time again under Marco Silva - his ability to turn rocks into diamonds and an explosive winger is just the profile that Fulham need.

He comes with high praise from Shakhtar fans, who praise his defensive workrate (2.35 tackles per 90 compared to Iwobi's 1.22) and a desire to improve that mean "Fulham will struggle to scare off from European giants in a few years time".

Like I said, I haven't sat down and watched Kevin before but Fulham are hardly the club to splash this amount of money willy-nilly. He's clearly a talent and his desire to improve alongside Silva's ambition could be a match made in heaven. Get it done.

"Chuking the bank" at Chukwueze
On the right-hand side, Samu Chukwueze appears to be our man. A player that Fulham were close to signing on deadline day in January before it fell through and we decided to bell Willian again! Chukwueze has European pedigree, playing for Villarreal and now AC Milan. The Nigerian looks to be more of a "finished article" compared to his Brazilian counterpart, averaging a goal contribution in 29.2% of games across his career which is impressive given just how long he's been playing in the top leagues. The 26-year-old looks like a much more rounded and steady player who's clearly coming into the peak of his powers.

The difference statistically between Harry Wilson and Samuel Chukwueze isn't an awful lot, so while I don't think it's as much of a drastic improvement as on our left-hand-side, I do think that Chukwueze is a more than valuable asset to the Fulham team. Don't get me wrong, losing another Nigerian during the season for AFCON will be a concern. But signing a lively winger who wants to drive with the ball and create something out of nothing is what we've been craving for a while on SW6 and I think that for the price tag, it's a good signing.

Needle movers?
Marco Silva has said in the past that we cannot stand still and while we all wish these signings would have come quicker, you can't deny that signing two players of Kevin and Chukwueze's ability will elevate the ceiling of this Fulham side. Not only are we acquiring two dynamic wingers with a keen eye for goal, but we are also improving the overall depth of our squad.

Silva will want to compete at the highest level possible on all three fronts this season and bringing in two top draw wingers will only make that job a little bit easier. What it means in terms of minutes for the likes of Adama Traore remains to be seen, but these are the type of moves Fulham had to make this summer and while it's taken longer than anyone would've liked, it appears we're finally getting some deals over the line.

Palace plot £15m Nelson move
Crystal Palace are in talks with Arsenal to sign Reiss Nelson for around £15m, according to The Sun's Charlie Wyett.

The 25 year-old winger, who made twelve appearances for Fulham on loan last season and scored twice before suffering a hamstring injury in December, had been expected to return to Craven Cottage for a second season-long loan this summer. The Whites held lengthy talks with the Gunners and Nelson's advisers but have not been able to come to an agreement on whether the deal should include an option or obligation to buy.

Arsenal's preference has always been to sell the Hale End academy graduate in order to offer Mikel Arteta further funds to strengthen his first-team squad. Palace appear to have taken advantage of Fulham's attempts to loan Nelson petering out and can offer the winger European football as well as the opportunity to stay in London.

Fulham's transfer window could yet burst into life, with Marco Silva reportedly targeting a remarkable three new signings before the window shuts. According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson are among the names under consideration as Silva looks to reshape his squad.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis
From a Fulham fan's perspective, this report is both exciting and cautious in equal measure. The names linked are impressive, but there are clear risks involved.

Firstly, Nelson returning would feel like unfinished business. Fans saw flashes of what he could offer last season, but his injury was frustrating. At 25, this could be the perfect time for him to settle into a regular role at Craven Cottage. If Pereira does depart, Nelson's creativity and direct play could help fill that void.

As for Mainoo, the reaction would be overwhelmingly positive. Many Fulham supporters believe the midfield needs youthful energy, and Mainoo ticks every box. A loan, even for a season, could elevate the squad's dynamism. However, with several clubs circling, expectations should be tempered.

Magassa and Van Ewijk are interesting links, but perhaps not the priority areas. Most fans would argue that the attacking line must be addressed. The possible pursuit of Ricardo Pepi is bold, but concerns over his fitness are valid. Supporters will want someone who can make an instant impact rather than waiting for form and sharpness to return.

From Brazil: Andreas Pereira sale made cheaper – Fulham man rejected extension, move now imminent
Andreas Pereira's return to Brazil is set to be finalised at half the price Palmeiras were willing to pay earlier this year, with Globo Esporte explaining why the deal has changed so drastically.

In January, Palmeiras offered Fulham €20m (£16.8m) for the 29-year-old midfielder, only for the London club and the player himself to turn down the move.

At that time, Pereira was featuring regularly in the Premier League and made it clear he wanted to finish the season in Europe. "I thought, 'I will finish my season here.' I wanted to decide to stay in Europe, try to play here as much as I could. I had a contract with Fulham," he told Brazilian press in May.

Once Palmeiras' first bid collapsed, Fulham attempted to secure Pereira on a contract renewal. But the player and his representatives refused, altering his situation in London.

Without an extension, Fulham began to seriously consider a sale, aware that by the end of the year Pereira would be eligible to sign a pre-contract elsewhere and leave for free in 2026.

This summer, Pereira lost ground under Marco Silva. He remained unused in Fulham's Premier League opener and was left out entirely against Manchester United as negotiations with Palmeiras advanced.

With the midfielder out of favour and unwilling to renew, Fulham accepted to do business at €10m (£8.4m), payable in installments over three years.

For Palmeiras, the move also comes after frustration in trying to replace Richard Ríos, who joined Benfica. In that context, Palmeiras returned to Pereira's camp, received a green light from both player and club, and quickly agreed a deal until December 2028.

People close to Pereira admit he felt "valued" by Palmeiras' persistence after the failed attempt in February.

With both sides aligned and the midfielder eyeing a return as a way to boost his World Cup chances, the deal is now only pending signature – closing a long saga with a cheaper, but decisive, ending.

As opposed to reports from earlier today, Samuel Chukwueze's move to Fulham should not be a permanent one, but rather on loan to begin with.

This morning, or late last night rather, Matteo Moretto broke the news that Milan and Fulham were in advanced talks over Chukwueze. The winger has been on the English side's list for quite some time and now, contacts have finally been initiated between the clubs.

The journalist stated that the clubs were discussing a permanent move worth around €25m, including bonuses. However, it seems the formula could end up being a loan with an option to buy, along with an obligation that is triggered if certain goals are met.

Formula changes
As reported by Moretto in his latest video, published this afternoon, the parties are 'very close' to completing the transfer. Chukwueze has already said yes and is expected to get a hefty salary of €3m per season, although that is actually a bit lower than his Milan deal.

The formula, meanwhile, is still a bit up in the air as the clubs are evaluating whether to proceed with a permanent one or an initial loan deal. The most likely option, for the time being at least, is a paid loan with an option to buy and easy conditions to trigger an obligation to buy.

It's perhaps not what Milan fans would have liked to hear but as long as the conditions are easy, the money will still arrive in the 2025-26 financial year.
