All you need know is (assuming I am correct) is that he was married twice & left two wives & children in his wake.

Morally acceptable? I think not, even to the worst of us.

So it doesn't matter what he went on to do or say now. As others now know (can't say who  )you can't change the story to suit your earlier appointments, needs or position now!

As ever, it's over to you how you interpret it.

Suffice to say, he's not for me.

I think you make reasonable points. His private life was a poor example for others and I find it odd how he was so over loved in the broadcast industry in which there seems to be a very closed shop. I find him bland in the extreme and even on his chats with Shearer and Richards you end up no better informed about football.

I haven't missed seeing him at all.

As far as I'm concerned he got paid a lot of money to do a job he loved. That doesn't deserve any award. There is too much back slapping in television of telling people how wonderful they are. As far as I can see he was ok at his job until he cocked it up. Now he is nothing

I'm really hoping the people praising Lineker just aren't aware that he's an antisemitic racist. I wouldn't want to think any Fulham supporter would agree with the toxic hatred that Lineker promotes. Apologies for sounding preachy, but antisemitism has become a big problem in Britain and we all, including myself, need to start stamping it out.
