Marco Silva makes Hill Dickinson Stadium admission ahead of Everton return - 'You can feel it'
Marco Silva previews his Fulham side's first-ever trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium to take on his former club Everton in the Premier League on Saturday

Fulham manager Marco Silva is relishing the prospect of a first trip to his former club Everton's new home. The Cottagers head to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

It will be the first time that Silva, who managed Everton between May 2018 and December 2019, and Fulham will have visited the waterfront venue. The Portuguese has never lost any of his previous trips to the Blues with the Cottagers, only being denied a fourth straight win at their old Goodison Park home thanks to an injury-time Beto equaliser last season.

And Silva said: "It's always good when you go back to a place where you are going to see familiar faces and some people that you know very well, and people that treat you very, very well.

"Some people in that structure, some players, they are still there from our time as well. And what I expect is always the same that I got the other times before, to have some good conversation before and after the match with people that I know very, very well, and people that welcome us always very well in that football club.

"(But) when we start the kick-off, each one is going to try to win the game, as always. That is the main thing.

"Of course, Goodison was a special one. Okay, (moving) was the step that the club should give, and they gave. They are pleased with the place where they are playing right now, and it's going to be the first time, first experience for us in that stadium.

"But you can feel it, you can see it, that it's been very, very good for them in that aspect, and we are going to embrace the challenge of playing there against a good side. A side with a very experienced manager, some mature players as well.

"They added some great individuals for their squad, and it's going to be a tough game, like always when you play away from home in the Premier League, when you play away from home against an Everton side, is always very difficult.

"But we have to look back, and the way this group of players changed completely the story of this football club recently against Everton away from home, just shows what we have been doing."

Fulham's 2-0 win over Everton in February 2021 - four months before Silva's arrival at Craven Cottage - ended their run of 22 consecutive league defeats at Goodison.

After that Silva's side won three of their four visits to L4 including a Carabao Cup quarter-final made infamous by Amadou Onana's woeful penalty miss in the shootout that the Blues lost.

And the Cottagers boss added: "We want to repeat the last few results there, and the good performance and the way we won the games that were very impressive in some moments. That is the main thing for us.

"They have been achieving good results at home so far. Of course, I know that they lost their last one at home (3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur), but they have been achieving good results so far.

"The impact of the new stadium and the home games is there clearly, if you want to analyse, but it's up to us. Our recent away form has not been good enough in terms of results, and we want to change it.

"The next one is Everton, and it's another opportunity for us to do it."

Fulham have yet to win on their travels in the Premier League this season but are now just one point behind the Blues in 15th after triumphing 3-0 at home to rock-bottom Wolves last time out.

Raul Jimenez could be catalyst behind David Moyes' sacking at Everton as frightening stats emerge
Everton face Fulham on Saturday, with Raul Jimenez boasting a highly impressive record against the Toffees.

The Mexico international, who had previously played for Wolves, has rediscovered his form at the Cottagers since his move in 2023.

However, this could be bad news for David Moyes, who is now facing Everton sack calls after a poor run of form.

A defeat on Saturday would see Fulham leapfrog the Toffees, with the drop zone edging ever closer.

Raul Jimenez has netted six times against Everton in 10 appearances
Despite now being 34 years old, Jimenez is still proving to be a formidable striker.

The Mexican has netted twice so far in all competitions this season, and will be looking to add to his goal tally on Saturday.

Throughout his time in the Premier League, Jimenez has often found the net against Everton, netting six times in 10 appearances. This has resulted in him winning five matches against the Toffees, while only losing two.

Sofascore on 6 November showcase how dominate the striker has been against Everton in recent years, with his 23.1 per cent conversion rate particularly impressive.

His most recent goal came in Everton's 3-1 victory over Fulham last season, when the Mexican netted the opener.

However, if Jimenez continues this run, and helps the Cottagers to another victory over the Toffees, it will surely edge Moyes closer to the sack.

With the team Everton have, they simply cannot and should not be in a relegation battle. Yet, a defeat would see them slip to at least 15th in the Premier League table, and potentially just two points off the drop zone.

Therefore, Jimenez could prove to be the catalyst behind Moyes' demise at Everton.

David Moyes faces a terrible run of games after Fulham
Without a victory over Fulham, Everton fans could be waiting a while for a win.

After the November international break, the Toffees will travel to Old Trafford before hosting Newcastle, two terribly difficult matches.

After that, a midweek trip to high-flying Bournemouth follows before Everton face struggling Nottingham Forest on 6 December.

Therefore, Toffees fans may be waiting until December for their next victory, which would likely see Moyes under heavy pressure if he is not already relieved of his duties.

From the press box: Sessegnon new contract "a matter of time" says Silva
Jack Kelly was once again in attendance as Marco Silva previews our trip to Everton.

Fulham travel to Everton's brand new stadium - 'The Hill Dickinson' - tomorrow in search of their first Premier League win away from home this season.

The main news from the press conference came in the embargoed section, which was Thursday night at 22:30.

I asked Silva about Ryan Sessegnon's contract situation, which is due to expire at the end of the season. Sessegnon has stepped up in superb style this season, with Antonee Robinson still on the treatment table.

"I don't have any doubts about the aim of Sess. We'd love to keep him in our football club & I think it's going to be a matter of time for this", Silva said.

The left-back scored last weekend against Wolves and is deserving of a new deal. He's also a Fulham boy through and through. To have both Josh King and Ryan Sessegnon tied down would be great news for the club, and the fanbase.

So, onto Saturday. There's another training session this morning at Motspur Park, but as it stands, Antonee Robinson will be the only guaranteed absentee on Merseyside. Three more first team players will have to miss out too, but it points to the depth of the squad when almost everyone is fit and firing.

Silva: "The scenario is much better for us. We have players competing for positions, which gives me a headache. We have training tomorrow, but Robinson is the only player out of the squad list."

Whisper it quietly, but Fulham are unbeaten playing Everton away from home under Marco Silva.

Back-to-back wins in 2022/23 and 2023/24 at Goodison Park, then a penalty-shoot-out win in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in December 2023. An agonising draw last season, with Beto equalising in the last moments of the game, after former Toffee Alex Iwobi put Fulham ahead.

But this will be a new experience for everyone connected with Fulham. A new stadium, environment, pre-match journey, a new away end, and in my case, a new press box.

I'm very excited to see what the Hill Dickinson press experience has to offer!

An 8am train from London Euston tomorrow morning. Luckily, I won't be travelling Scott Alone, as my friends and brother are on the same train, there and back. While they guzzle several Buzzballs, I'll stay sensible and sober.

Perhaps, a beer or two on the way home if Fulham get a positive result.

Enjoy your day on Merseyside, and come on Fulham!

'Chukwueze can do it' - Fulham boss hints Super Eagles forward is close to full PL debut
Fulham manager Marco Silva has hinted that Samuel Chukwueze could soon be handed his first Premier League start for the Cottagers ahead of their clash against Everton this weekend.

Chukwueze, who joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan during the summer transfer window, has endured a difficult start to life in England.

The Nigerian winger has struggled with fitness issues, limiting his impact since arriving at Craven Cottage.

The 26-year-old has featured in four matches off the bench since his arrival at Craven Cottage, registering a single assist in Fulham's 3–1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Speaking at his pre-match conference, Silva expressed confidence in Chukwueze's ability to influence games when fully fit and hinted that the former Villarreal star's moment to shine could come soon.

On Kevin playin on the left side in the game against Wolves, Silva was quoted as saying by the BBC: "Was first half for him in the Premier League but he's played in the Carabao Cup too.

"The moment [to start] will arrive for [Samuel] Chukwueze too. We're feeling he can have an impact for us.

"It was the moment for Kevin [to start on left], to play [Alex] Iwobi more inside. Chukwueze can do it there too."

Chukwueze, who endured an inconsistent spell at AC Milan before making the switch to London, will be eager to shake off his early-season struggles and rediscover the explosive form that made him one of La Liga's most exciting wingers during his time with Villarreal.

How Fulham BEAT Everton
Fulham are back on the road — a first trip to the Hill Dickenson awaits, marking a return to Merseyside for Marco Silva. With Fulham winning just twice on the road since March, a win in Liverpool would be a statement in pushing Fulham up the table. Here's how Marco's merry men mount more pressure on David Moyes:

How Everton's Play Style Can Be Exploited:
The summer additions of Kieran Dewsbury Hall and Jack Grealish revolutionised how David Moyes sets up his Everton side.

A move away from direct football to final third triangles and 1v1 isolation against opposing defenders now makeup the cogs of Moyes' attacking blueprint.

Interchangable triangles involving Grealish and Dewsbury Hall

While more exciting for the once Goodison faithful, teams seemed to have worked out the Blues' reliance in forcing the ball into their two marquee summer signings — Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish. Everton's central creativity push has limited the Toffee's movement in the final third.

With Illiman Ndiaye allowed a free-roam like role, as the only real runner from in and around the penalty box, Grealish and Dewsbury Hall have been drowned out centrally through a lack of plan B from Moyes' men. This caused Jack Grealish to come under for fire for his performances in recent weeks.

A need for solidity in the middle of the park — to stop Everton's lone creative threat — should see Fulham's deployment of Alex Iwobi in the eight be put on hold. Don't allow summer signings, or Iliman N'diaye, the space or the 1v1 isolation opportunities to work their magic. Funnel play out wide and force balls into the — lets just say — lacklustre duo of Barry and Beto.

Central solidity is the key: pack numbers centrally. Kevin and Wilson need to muck in centrally, Iwobi must drop in too. Berge and Lukic must stay resolute.

Exploiting Everton's Defensive Frailties

Sessegnon and Kevin isolating and overloading Jake O'Brien

A once-solid Everton backline has been dismantled. Conceding seven goals in the last four goals, Nathan Patterson's absence has been very much felt, with Jake O'brien — a 6'6 feet centre-half — forced to deputise at right-back.

O'Brien can't cope with tricky, quick wingers. His stature and high centre of gravity forces the Irishmen to allow space to his opposite number, to make up for his slow turn of pace out the blocks. Do you like the sound of that, Kev?

Isolate O'Brien out wide. Get an overload on that Fulham left side, with Sessegnon wrapping round on that overlap that has proved so lethal in recent weeks, and make it a nightmare day for the former Lyon man. That's where Fulham will find our joy.

Team News: Fulham Near Full Fitness
Fulham are on the cusp of full fitness. The returning Muniz, Chukwueze, Wilson, and Smith Rowe continue their upward trajectory towards full fitness, while Antonne Robinson proves to be the last man standing (or lying) on the Motspur Park treatment table, with Marco Silva still unable to give a timeline for Jedi's return. Worrying times for the American — recurring knee issues can dent careers!

Iliman N'diaye looks a game time decision after David Moyes said, ''he's trained today (Friday), so hopefully everything's okay''.

Nathan Patterson, and Jarred Brainthwaite both remain out.

Fulham's XI

What I'd start at the Hill Dickenson

Cuenca comes in for an out of form Calvin Bassey, while Sasa Lukic comes back the lineup to partner Sander Berge, as Fulham look to build steel in the middle of the park.

Kevin maintains his place, but Josh King will find himself very unlucky to lose his spot in the 10 to Alex Iwobi, with the Nigerian offering transitional support on both sides of possession.

Samuel Chukwueze awaits his first league start despite a terrific cameo last week. Come 60 minutes though, expect to see Sammy C running down to wing. Harry Wilson keeps his place on the right.

Rodrigo Muniz regains a starting role, with the heavy workload Raul Jimenez's legs have undertaken clearly taking its tole in recent weeks. A purple patch from Rodrigo would change the course of London Original's season. Can it start at the Hill Dickenson?

Everton Away: A Litmus Test
One win in a run of eight games that included fixtures against Wolves and West Ham should hardly strike fear into the Whites' hearts. With murmurings of discontent around David Moyes' position growing, a third Fulham away win since late February may well bring the Goodison boo birds crosstown to dockside.

This Everton fixture will prove a litmus test to where Fulham really are. Wolves was a game that Fulham were massive favourites in, and it turned out to be devoid of much contest past the half hour mark. How much value can you take away from that performance?

Saturday's fixture is an opportunity to see how we weigh up against fellow mid-table opposition.

Can we finally win away? Can we begin to put a run together, with winnable games coming up? Can we separate ourselves from the drop zone? All will be revealed come Saturday 5pm.

I'll see you at Arkles. You Whites!

PREVIEW: Everton look to turn form around as they host Fulham
David Moyes' side continue to sweat over the fitness of Iliman Ndiaye as they host Marco Silva's Fulham.

It could be a pivotal match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with both Everton and Fulham looking to create more ground between themselves and the relegation zone.

Hosts Everton have been in a poor run of form as of late, with one win in their last seven games and haven't none away from home since August. Their poor away from has led to them slipping down the table to 14th place, and their second half performance away at Sunderland on Monday night raised further eyebrows around manager David Moyes' selection and substitutions.

One of the main worries for his side will be the fitness of winger Iliman Ndiaye, who scored an incredible goal on Monday but was substituted off in the second half for what Moyes described as 'cramp and one or two other bits'. The news will not be welcomed in the blue half of Merseyside, as Ndiaye has been sensational for Everton so far this season. If he is deemed fit, he will partner Jack Grealish on the opposite flank, with the pair being Everton's main threat this season.

Fulham have also struggled as of late, almost sleepwalking into a relegation battle after Marco Silva's side lost each of their last four games. Their victory over basement-boys Wolves helped ease some pressure, though they will be disappointed to continue to be without full back Antonee Robinson who has been sidelined since the end of September.

The Cottagers have had some serious injury issues through the last month or so but were able to welcome back multiple players including Joachim Andersen and striker Raúl Jiménez, who returned in the 72nd minute against his former club. Alex Iwobi and Ryan Sessegnon both impressed last time out for Fulham and their return to form could be the boost Silva's side need in order to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

Everton are still light in defence: players such as Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson remain out for the foreseeable future as Moyes will once again have to deploy centre-half Jake O'Brien in the full back role. The selection headache will be his decision to either continue with Thierno Barry up front or switch him out for Beto. Neither striker has pulled up trees this season and Barry will be ruing his near impossible miss at the Stadium of Light on Monday, yet Beto has yet to score a goal either in the League this season.

A win for Everton could take them up to 11th in the table, whereas three points for Fulham could lift them up to 12th.

The game, kicking off at 15:00 on Saturday November 8, will not be broadcast live in the UK because of broadcasting rules and regulations.

Predicted line-ups
EVE: Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry

FUL: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Iwobi, Berge; Wilson, King, Kevin; Jiménez

Super Eagles star edging closer to Fulham's starting eleven following calf problem
Fulham are currently 15th on the English Premier League table with three wins from the opening ten fixtures...

Fulham head coach Marco Silva has revealed Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is edging closer to sealing a starting berth in his side, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old joined the Cottagers on loan from Milan on the summer transfer deadline day, but has yet to start a game.

After the October International break, Chukwueze suffered a calf injury that has seen him limited to just 13 minutes of action since then.

Those minutes came in Fulham's 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, and he made the most of it, dribbling through defenders before his goal attempt was denied by the woodwork.

Chukwueze is close to Fulham's starting XI breakthrough
Fulham travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to face Everton tomorrow. Ahead of the game, the club's coach, Maro Silva, has hinted that Chukwueze is a possible option to start on the flank.

"Of course, if you are playing games week in and week out, then your physical condition is much better," the 48-year-old said in quotes revealed by BBC UK.

"For Rodrigo [Muniz], probably the last game he played was seven weeks ago. One moment, he is going to be ready, so let's see what my decision is for Saturday."

"Kevin played on the left last week. It was his first half in the Premier League, but he's played in the Carabao Cup too.

"The moment [to start] will arrive for [Samuel] Chukwueze too. We're feeling he can have an impact for us.

"It was the moment for Kevin [to start on the left], to play [Alex] Iwobi more inside. Chukwueze can do it there, too."

"The biggest challenge and answer he can give is not one v one, but finishing. The way he plays, the way he is brave, fans like to see."

"You can take positives from defeats, but results speak louder in terms of points. For the players' confidence, for their minds too.

"Against Wolves, we were ruthless and clinical. When you have good results, you have to build on them. It's been a good week," the former Watford coach concluded.

Everton is Fulham's final stop before the November International Break. After the break, they'll take on Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Burnley.

Marco Silva speaks about the anticipation of his 'first experience' at a new home for Everton
This fixture is a reunion with a twist for the Fulham head coach.

Marco Silvaspoke about returning to familiar territory as Fulham face Everton on the weekend.

The head coach of the Cottagers spent a year and a half at Goodison Park before being sacked at the end of 2019. He now returns to Merseyside to face the Toffees at their new home, the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and will park the niceties when the action kicks off to keep up momentum from last week.

After a 3-0 win over Wolves, the pressure has eased a little, but Silva will not let standards slide.

"It's going to be a good feeling, for sure. It's always good when you go back to a place where you are going to see familiar faces and some people that you know well, and people that treat you very well.

"Some people in that structure, some players, they are still there from our time as well. Everton vs Fulham: Match Preview | Can the Toffees get back to winning ways?
Everton seek just a second win in nine matches when they take on Marco Silva's Fulham at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.

This feels like an important game in the context of the season, and not just because it is the final match before yet another international break and will dictate the mood among fans for two weeks.

The Toffees are entrenched in mid-table, but such is the compact nature of the league that they are five points off third and just five points clear of 18th. However, lurking after the international break are matches against Manchester United, Newcastle and Bournemouth.

A win over the Cottagers would mean Everton could approach those games in a reasonably healthy position. Lose, and the Toffees will be looking over their shoulder again with a familiar sense of dread.

Monday's draw at Sunderland will probably go down as a decent point given the form of the Black Cats this season. But a chronic lack of cutting edge meant 30 minutes of total dominance yielded only one goal, with Thierno Barry's awful miss proving to be the turning point.

I actually felt Barry had done okay during the first half, and it was hard not to feel a touch of sympathy in the second when he realised he was being hauled off early yet again.

I'm sure David Moyes will point out that the summer signing has yet to even register a shot on target for the Toffees so needs to do better. That said, the constant rotation with Beto has not done much for their confidence. But with at least nine matches until the January window opens, Moyes needs to somehow stick with one and try to make it work.

The Opposition
Like Everton, Fulham are also finding goalscoring difficult, netting just 12 in total, with 'own goal' their current top scorer on three.

'Own goal' was on target again last week as the Cottagers secured a morale-boosting 3–0 win over bottom side Wolves, ending a run of four straight defeats and opening up a four-point gap on the bottom three.

They have an awful record on the road this season, snatching a point on the opening day at Brighton before suffering four successive defeats. But before you get too confident, Fulham have had Everton's number on Merseyside in recent years.

They are unbeaten in their past five meetings, including a crushing 3–1 victory that very nearly pushed Everton towards relegation in the spring 2023, and the infamous Carabao Cup penalty shootout defeat later that year (I still shudder at Onana's penalty).

Silva became exasperated with his side's transfer business over the summer, saying they were too "passive" in the market, though they did persuade Kenny Tete to go back on a deal he agreed at Everton to sign a new contract.

His mumblings did push Fulham into some late action, including a club-record £34.6m deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin, but the former Toffees boss has cut a frustrated figure on the touchline as he attempts to build on a promising 2024–25 season that saw them accrue a record Premier League points total of 54.

Previous meeting
Fulham 1–2 Everton, 10 May 2025

Everton's strong finish to the season included a come-from-behind win on a warm, sunny May afternoon at Craven Cottage. Raul Jimenez's opener was cancelled out by a deflected Vitaliy Mykolenko strike, before second-half goals from Michael Keane and Beto in the space of four minutes sealed the win.

Team News
Iliman Ndiaye is fit and available despite being forced off against Sunderland on Monday, with Moyes confirming it was only a minor issue that has not stopped him from training.

There are no other fresh injury concerns, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson still sidelined.

Final word
The final game before international breaks always feel important, but this one carries extra weight given the tough matches that lie ahead between now and Christmas. Fulham are a bogey team for the Toffees, but their poor performances on the road mean this is an opportunity Everton have to take if they are to stay safely away from trouble.

Everton vs Fulham: Preview and Prediction
Everton will be eager to return to winning ways when they welcome Fulham to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.

The dreaded international break is nearly upon us, but before that, the 2025/26 Premier League season will resume with Gameweek 11. The latest round of fixtures will kick off with the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United before continuing with two simultaneous games, including Everton vs Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton made a solid start to the 2025/26 season, rising to fifth in the Premier League standings heading into the first international break this term. However, the Toffees have won only one of their seven subsequent Premier League clashes, with the poor run of results taking them to 14th on the table. David Moyes's men are also out of the EFL Cup after losing 2-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the third round.

On the other hand, Fulham ended a four-match losing streak to climb to 15th in the Premier League standings in Gameweek 10 by beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 at Craven Cottage. Marco Silva's men have been inconsistent thus far in the 2025/26 season, as they have managed only three wins in the Premier League. However, the Cottagers have progressed to the EFL Cup quarter-finals, where they will face Newcastle United.

The corresponding fixture last season saw Everton come from a goal down to hold Fulham to a 1-1 draw, with Beto scoring the equaliser. The Hard Tackle looks closer at the encounter ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides.

Team News & Tactics
Everton
David Moyes has a new injury concern hampering his preparations ahead of his side's latest fixture. The Everton manager may be bereft of the services of three first-team players vs Fulham on Saturday.

Moyes has been sweating over Iliman Ndiaye's fitness after the Senegalese international picked up a hamstring injury earlier this week in the game against Sunderland. However, he should be fit and available to take on Fulham. Meanwhile, Jarrad Branthwaite (thigh) and Nathan Patterson (groin) remain in the treatment room.

Jordan Pickford is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Everton lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him vs Fulham on Saturday. The backline will feature Jake O'Brien, James Tarkowski, Michael Keane, and Vitaliy Mykolenko.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Idrissa Gueye and James Garner in the double pivot. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will reprise the no. 10 role, with Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye being the two wide attackers. Finally, Thierno Barry will lead the line for Everton against Fulham on Saturday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry

Fulham
Unlike his counterpart in the Everton dugout, Marco Silva has no new issues to worry about ahead of the trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Fulham manager will be without only one first-team player on Saturday.

Antonee Robinson is the only absentee due to a knee injury. The USMNT international will not be ready to return before next month.

Bernd Leno will retain his usual spot between the sticks, with Fulham lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him vs Everton on Sunday. The backline will feature Kenny Tete, Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey, and Ryan Sessegnon.

As for the midfield unit, Sander Berge and Sasa Lukic are automatic picks in the double pivot. Joshua King will reprise the no. 10 role, with Alex Iwobi and Kevin being the two wide attackers. Finally, Raul Jimenez will spearhead the Fulham attack against Everton on Saturday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Iwobi, King, Kevin; Jimenez

Key Stats

After winning 22 consecutive home league games vs Fulham between 1961 and 2018, Everton are now winless in their last four against the Cottagers (D1 L3). The Cottagers have lost only one of their seven most recent Premier League games against Everton (W3 D3), although it was in their last meeting at Craven Cottage in May (1-3).
Everton lost 3-0 in their most recent home Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, their first defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Merseyside outfit last suffered consecutive home losses in December and January in the 2024/25 season, while under David Moyes, they last did so in October 2011. The Toffees have won only one of their last seven Premier League games (D3 L3) after winning five of their six outings before this run (L1).
Fulham registered their third Premier League win of the season last weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers (D2 L5), but all three have come at home. The Cottagers have lost their four most recent Premier League outings on the road, last losing more successive away games between November and January in the 2023/24 season.
Three of Fulham's 12 Premier League goals have been opposition own goals, benefitting from those in all three wins this term against Leeds United, Brentford, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Own goals are their leading scorer this season, one ahead of Ryan Sessegnon and Harry Wilson (two each).
Alex Iwobi has created eight chances for Harry Wilson in the Premier League this season, the most one player has created for a single teammate in the competition in 2025/26.

Player to Watch
Ryan Sessegnon

While Alex Iwobi, Jack Grealish, and Iliman Ndiaye were viable candidates for this section, we have picked Ryan Sessegnon as the Player to Watch for Saturday's Premier League clash between Everton and Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The academy graduate has stepped up well in Antonee Robinson's absence, and he is Fulham's top scorer this season after own goals. Only Raul Jimenez (7) has scored more Premier League goals for Fulham in 2025 than Ryan Sessegnon (6). The 25-year-old has two more goals in 2025 (6 in 23 games) than he managed in 75 appearances between 2018 and 2024 (4). Expect him to be Marco Silva's go-to man this weekend.

Prediction
Everton 2-1 Fulham
Everton may have lost at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time when they faced Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago, but they face a team that has struggled on the road this season. The visitors have only won at home in the 2025/26 campaign, and they have struggled during their travels.

So, while the away side will take the game to Everton, they may not have enough quality to topple the hosts. Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish will deliver the goods in the final third for the home team, and The Hard Tackle predicts a 2-1 win for David Moyes and his charges.

Everton vs Fulham | Opposition Analysis: Time For Bold Action
Moyes must shuffle his pack and try something different

In the aftermath of Everton's visit to the Stadium of Light on Monday night, it's easy to forget that the team came away with a point, from a ground in which the hosts have lost only one (genuine) league game since the beginning of last season. If the flow of the match had been reversed, with the Blues playing abjectly for an hour, then roaring back to a 1-1 draw against Sunderland, then fans would likely have been more accepting of the performance — but of course, that is not what took place.

Instead, the Toffees were dominant, and should have led by more than a solitary goal after 30 minutes, but this made the subsequent utter collapse of the team from then until the final whistle, more stark by contrast. At the end of the game, questions as to the nature of what it was that we had just witnessed, and what it means for the rest of the season, hung in the air — unsatisfactorily answered by David Moyes afterwards, and during the week.

Make no mistake, the positive mood surrounding the campaign's early weeks are long gone, replaced by something more volatile, unpredictable. Mercifully, the Toffees get a quick opportunity to change the narrative, and the mood, less than five days later, against a team sitting one place below them in the Premier League table, with the visit of Fulham to Hill Dickinson Stadium this afternoon.

Form
Marco Silva led the Cottagers to an eleventh-place finish last term, earning six points more and climbing two positions higher than in the previous campaign; a solid sign of progress. Given that almost half of the division qualified for some form of continental competition, the West Londoners were very much in contention until late in the season. The former Everton boss may have been expecting a reward in the form of summer reinforcements — but if this was the case, then he was a disappointed man.

Fulham would spend just €27.5m net during the transfer window, with Brazilian winger Kevin (€40m, Shakhtar Donetsk) comprising the bulk of the outlay. The only other new recruits were 18-year-old Bayern Munich forward Jonah Kusi-Asare, who has almost no senior experience, for a €4m loan fee, veteran backup goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte (€500k, Montpellier) and one-time Blues wing target Samuel Chukwueze (loan, Milan). Unlike previous summers, when Silva has lost key men in João Palhinha and Aleksandar Mitrović, the only significant departee was attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira (€10m, Palmeiras).

The team got the campaign off to a decent start, drawing against Brighton and Manchester United, losing to Chelsea, but beating Leeds United and Brentford, before hitting a rocky patch. A run of four straight losses - to Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Newcastle United - perhaps underlined that this was a team which had stood still, whilst most of the rest of the division had strengthened — or at least attempted to. Fulham have progressed to an EFL Quarter-final tie with the Magpies next month, but a resounding 3-0 home win over bottom of the table Wolves last weekend was badly needed.

Style of Play
Silva's tactical approach is well-known to Blues fans, off of his time at the club, but the Portuguese is more experienced, and savvy than in those long-ago days. He still favours the 4-2-3-1 formation, although has played 3-4-3 once this term, and the Portuguese cuts the same energetic, intense figure on the touchline, and is still an emotional guy in post-match interviews, unafraid to call out poor officiating, whatever the threat of official sanction may be. I think partly, this is a quality which has ensured that the 48-year-old is thought of with some affection by many Blues fans — certainly more so than many former Toffees bosses.

Fulham want to get on the ball when they can - evidenced by a 50.3% share of possession (eleventh ranked) - and like to take care of it also, with a highly competitive 83.1% pass accuracy (ninth). They favour short passing, but are slightly more direct this season, with 10.8% played long. In away matches, today's visitors heavily focus their play down the left. They generate 11.3 attempts on goal per 90 minutes (12th), and with 12 strikes, they are exceeding their xG of 10.3. Bizarrely, three of their goals have been scored by opposition players!

On defence, the West London outfit are only allowing 11.0 per 90 (joint seventh), an xGA of 13.0, and have shipped 14 goals, which indicates that the team is performing more or less in line with the data. They've conceded two penalties, from two set-pieces and also twice on the counter, suggesting that they lack any obvious susceptibility. They are a well-organized side and quite aggressive in the challenge, leading the league in fouls conceded per game, with 14.

Team Assessment
The experienced Bernd Leno will line up in goal for Fulham. The 33-year-old is performing at his usual level, which is to say adequate, rather than exceptional. At right back is the man who Everton failed to sign way back at the start of the summer window, in Kenny Tete. The Dutchman is a strong defender, who leads the team in tackles won per 90 (2.0). On the left, in the continued absence of Antonee Robinson, is Ryan Sessegnon, who will push forward whilst Tete hangs back. At centre half, Joachim Andersen is strong in the air, but lacking in mobility, whereas Calvin Bassey has been error-prone, with some costly giveaways.

Silva has been experimenting with his midfield trio, with only Sander Berge an ever-present. The 6'3 Norwegian adds physicality to the engine room, and is neat in possession. Alongside him, will be either Saša Lukić, who is something of an inferior version of Palhinha, or - more likely - Alex Iwobi. The ex-Toffee usually lines up on the left in Silva's system, but impressed from a central position against Wolves, from where he dictated play. He leads the team with 2.67 passes into the opposition area per 90. In front of the two central players will be the rapid 18-year-old, Josh King, who has started nine of Fulham's ten league games.

Leading the line is veteran striker Raúl Jiménez. The Mexican stayed fit and fired 12 goals last season, but has started slowly this term. At 34, he's lost some speed, but is still an intelligent operator, who adds a focal point for the team to play off. On the right wing, Harry Wilson is dangerous cutting inside on his excellent left foot; he's scored twice in the last five league matches. Lining up on the left will either be Iwobi - who is inarguably the team's key player - or Kevin, who made his first league start against Wolves. The 22-year-old has excited from the bench, and with a staggering 29 attempted dribbles in just 232 minutes to date, and with a success rate of 51.7%, he could prove troublesome to Jake O'Brien.

Prediction
The Londoners are a capable side, who possess a good manager, who has been let down significantly by the club's hierarchy this season, hence their relative struggles. They've not yet won away from Craven Cottage (one draw, three losses), although all their away games have been against good opposition, and they were terrifically unlucky to have King's goal chalked off for a phantom foul at Stamford Bridge, with the game at 0-0. The visitors took the lead against both Villa and the Cherries, and were only beaten in the 90th minute at St. James' Park, so are far from being the pushovers that the formline may suggest.

So, we can assume that the hosts will be up against competent opposition, who have scored (including the Chelsea fiasco) in all five away games this term, which is a little concerning, given that Everton have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven, stretching all the way back to the Villa game, in mid-September. The defence has been breached in each of the past three at Hill Dickinson, too, and inexplicably didn't concede against Brighton, only looking genuinely comfortable against an oddly negative Villa. For a side which does not score a lot of goals, this is problematic.

Once again, figuring how Everton will do this afternoon depends on which team Moyes will select, and how he'll use his bench to change the game, should this be required. I'd hoped that there'd be changes to what's become a moribund lineup on Monday, even if I didn't think there would be — correctly, as it happens. Whether the manager sees the need for changes is unclear, and given he attributed the dismal nature of the last hour at Sunderland to Thierno Barry's admittedly bad miss - in the 28th minute, no less - I'm thinking that he'll go with the same eleven today, with the only alternation being Beto in for Barry.

Speaking of the French striker, if this Everton team is so fragile in character, that one - at the moment - fringe player missing a big chance, with the team leading 1-0 at the time and in total control of the game, can cause a collapse of confidence, as Moyes states, then I don't know what to say about that. Isn't it his job to encourage and motivate the players at half time, not to mention beforehand, at Finch Farm? His game management on Monday was appalling. Hauling Barry off so early in the second half was uncalled for, as was his negligible use of Carlos Alcaraz - again a junktime substitute - and the non-use of Tyler Dibling and Merlin Röhl.

The German has been a player that Moyes has spoken positively about, so it was a mystery why he was left on the bench, but the Dwight McNeil substitution, in the 62nd minute, was truly baffling. With Iliman Ndiaye coming off, you'd imagine that right winger Dibling, the club's most expensive summer signing, would be the obvious replacement, so to see Moyes instead call for McNeil, who has never impressed on the right, and who has looked every inch like a player who knows his time at Everton is up, was extremely odd. I don't know what to make of the manager's assertion that McNeil had trained well recently, because in an actual competitive game of football, he appeared completely lost. This isn't to criticize McNeil, who has been an important player for the club, but if this was him supposedly ready for first team football, then it's hard to see what he offers in his present state.

Personally, I'd move James Garner to right back, O'Brien to centre half, in place of Michael Keane - who should not be about to start his eleventh consecutive league game at this stage of his career - and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall into midfield, alongside Idrissa Gueye, with Alcaraz playing as the number ten, off Barry. I'd be proactive with the bench, ready to introduce Röhl, Dibling and even the lost man that is Adam Aznou, should there be a need for fresh legs, a tactical shift, or should a player just not be having a good game — and this applies to any member of the starting team.

Sadly, Moyes will go with the same lineup that has failed to play a consistent 90 minutes at any point this season, which gives Fulham a better chance of getting some kind of result at Hill Dickinson Stadium, than should be the case. Everton has the talent, in Jack Grealish and Ndiaye, to win and the Cottagers are far from formidable, but right now, I'm struggling to make a strong case for a home victory.

Score: Everton 1-1 Fulham

Thierno Barry makes bizarre social media change on eve of Everton vs Fulham amid new David Moyes claim
Thierno Barry was substituted in Everton's 1-1 draw at Sunderland earlier this week after missing a gilt-edged chance.

Thierno Barry made a bizarre change to his social media on the eve of Everton's Premier League clash against Fulham.

The striker moved to the Toffees in the summer transfer window for up to £27 million from Villarreal. However, he's had a soft launch to his Hill Dickinson Stadium career and has yet to score in 12 appearances.

Barry was handed a start in last Monday's 1-1 draw at Sunderland. However, the former France under-21s international spurned a gilt-edged chance to double Everton's lead in the first half when he was picked out by Jack Grealish inside the six-yard box but his volley went well over the crossbar. Barry was substituted in the 57th minute and looked downtrodden on the Blues' bench after his withdrawal.

And strangely, Barry has used that image as his new profile picture on Instagram. The 23-year-old changed the photo on Friday night, less than a day ahead of the fixture against Fulham which could be a hint that he will be back among the substitutes.

On the decision to take off Barry, Moyes said via the Liverpool Echo: "We are taking them off because they are probably not getting us the goals or the opportunities and we are saying: 'Well, let's see if the other one can do it'.

"How many games would be enough? When do you say you've him for X amount of games and then you decide. I think what we have actually done has got Barry more football than I probably expected early on if I was being honest, but he has lost himself minutes by getting a booking.

"He got a booking at Wolves [in the Carabao Cup defeat, another game he did not finish] and so we weren't taking the chance at half-time. He got a booking in the game against Sunderland and I am saying: 'My goodness, it only needs him to [do something wrong]'. He is still getting to know his own body and getting in control. The slightest thing could happen and I cannot take the risk of him getting sent off."

Asked if there have been talks with Barry, Moyes replied: "It is something we are mentioning, he will feel it himself, we don't think he is doing badly - at times he is doing okay.

"We need him to score goals whether he is doing good or bad, but we are saying: 'By the way, if you are getting yourself stupidly booked then you are making it easier for us to make that decision, because we cannot take the risk of going down to 10 men'."

Moyes' Programme Notes For Fulham Test
We returned from Sunderland on Monday night frustrated by many aspects of the game. No visiting team has won there yet this season and the Stadium of Light has been a very difficult ground for teams to go to. We went there with ambitions to take more than the point we came back with but, unfortunately, we couldn't do that.

After a good start it was a difficult night. The crowd at the Stadium of Light did everything they could to give their team every possible advantage and Jack Grealish also had to deal with several rough challenges. I'd like to make the point that Jack is not trying to win free-kicks. Stats show he has been fouled more than any other player in the Premier League so far this season.

We have played 10 games now, which usually gives you an idea of where you are.

Losing to Manchester City and Spurs saw us drop from a healthier league position at the start of the season. But I think everybody would agree the Premier League is tight this season, with very little between so many teams. As a result, small margins can make a big difference.

As a team and a club we still have a lot of work to do to get back to the levels we all expect as Evertonians.

But we mustn't lose sight of the progress that has been made recently.

It is very difficult to take huge strides forward quickly in football today, so small, progressive steps is going to be our way forward, as you would expect us to do.

We have tried to correct many things since we arrived here, but there's so many other things we still have to do better.

We have new owners, a new CEO, and lots of other new staff coming into the Club, all getting used to the values and the standards we expect at Everton Football Club. I have been very impressed with all of them in the short time we've all been here together.

We are all thrilled to be part of our new stadium, but history will tell you that a move to a new home can be challenging. So let's continue to build on the start we have made here and hope the future is a bright one.

We welcome Fulham today with several former Everton employees in their ranks. Marco Silva will understand Everton well from his time as manager, while Alex Iwobi enjoyed a good spell here and Antonee Robinson came through the ranks at Finch Farm. We welcome them and all the Fulham staff.

They will all be experiencing our new stadium for the first time. But I also have my own memories of Fulham – including some very fond ones!

I'll always remember my first match as Everton manager, when we played Fulham. Unsy got me a goal after 32 seconds and we got a good result after a wonderful welcome for me.

Finally, today, of course, is our Remembrance fixture. We will observe a minute's silence before kick-off to honour the sacrifices of those who served and a bugler will play the Last Post.

This activity reflects the Club's commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community and raising awareness about the importance of their contributions. I know you will all observe the tributes respectfully.

Enjoy the match.
David
