Recap: New stadium nausea leaves Fulham precarious
A bad weekend leaves Silva's side 1 point above the drop zone

They say that golf is a good walk ruined and sometimes attending a football match has a similar feeling. This weekend's visit to the Hill Dickinson was one I'd been looking forward to since the fixtures were announced. A trip to the fine city of Liverpool and a brand new shiny stadium to tick off.

The Hill Dickinson, despite its awful name, didn't disappoint. The walk isn't even that bad either, I was expecting a lot worse. There are quite a lot of similarities with Spurs' new ground, but I think if I had to choose one to be our stadium, I think I'd prefer Everton's. It felt a little bit less shiny, in a good way. One criticism: some more urinals would be great.

Also, it was great to see such a large turnout of Fulham fans - it felt like an away end that would be a lot of fun IF we had had something to cheer about.

Anyway, I suppose we better talk about the football. Shocking. Up until this game I think you could make an argument that Fulham were competitive in every match, but that wasn't the case on Saturday. Everton not only played the better football, but they also seemed to have more energy and desire too. A triple combination that rarely leads to a positive outcome.

It's clear that the Sander/Sasa partnership should only be used in games where we want to park the bus. I get the theory, and have previously backed Marco in deploying them as a central midfield pairing, but I think that other teams have cottoned on to the fact that we have minimal attacking threat when they play together. Alex Iwobi fits the '8' position like a glove, and that was clear to see in the second half when he was placed there.

I think it's also clear that our striker situation is going to cost us a lot of points this season. Raul Jimenez has 1 league goal from 10 appearences (6 starts, 4 sub). Raul brings us a lot more than just goals and I respect him massively for the shift he's putting in at 34, but he just does not offer a goal threat. Rodrigo Muniz being subbed-off sixteen minutes after he was subbed-on was my lowest moment of the season so far. You knew at that point, even though it was only 1-0 at the time, that the game was up. Samu Chukwueze is exciting, but he was never going to trouble Tarkowski and Keane in the centre-forward role.

Much of the criticism in our transfer business was about midfield, but with the benefit of hindsight, I think our striker situation is the bigger issue. It's always tricky to keep three strikers happy in a one-striker system, but I do wonder if maybe we needed to be more ruthless with Raul and give Muniz a proper challenger. It goes without saying of course, that the Jonah Kusi-Asare situation is a complete mess.

As Owen McDonald recaps in his article, the situation in the table is looking precarious as just one point seperates us and the relegation zone. Realistically how many points do you expect us to get from the 4 games after the international break (Sunderland, Spurs, City, Palace)? None of them are easy.

On Sunday, I was asked on Talksport if I'm worried about Fulham going down, my immediate answer was 'no' because I believe there are three worse teams (Wolves, Leeds and Burnley). However, it was maybe a bit of a hasty answer, because beyond those three I'm not sure who else you could definitely say we're superior to. Forest and West Ham are picking themselves off the canvas, and I think we have a fight on our hands to stay above them.

Stephen Sheldrake was on Player Ratings duty and he had the arduous task of picking a Man Of The Match. He chose Calvin Bassey, but in all honesty it was one of those games where nobody deserved the MOTM nod. My choice might have been Josh King, because I felt like he looked positive when he came on, but in all honesty, there wasn't much in it.

After the match, myself and Elizabeth took on the Quick Take and the large amount of comments from Everton fans has been interesting to read. Many of them seemed surprised by Fulham's poor performance, given recent strong showings away against the Toffees.

Elizabeth is back on the podcast with Yasmin, Dan and Avais recapping what went wrong on Saturday. Nothing like a two week break to stew over Fulham's problems.

Fulham hit MK Dons Women for six
The league leaders put MK Dons Women to the sword on Sunday

It was another tough weekend for MK Dons Women after they were comfortably beaten by league leaders Fulham 6-0 on Sunday.

The Cottagers are undefeated this season and showed why by taking the lead after just five minutes and taking a 2-0 advantage with them into the break. Four second-half goals cemented their control over the game as Dons suffered a sixth defeat of the season.

Speaking afterwards, boss Stephen Healy was left to pick the bones out of the defeat.

"Fulham are a top side, we knew that coming into the game," he said. "We did, or we tried out utmost to try to nullify that, but they're a really good side. We had some half-chances but we were a bit rash in the final third and didn't take them. Fulham scored some really good goals in the second-half.

"We never stopped fighting and battling, that's an important trait to have. It can be a difficult time otherwise. We still saw some positives in the game, which might seem strange after a 6-0 loss, but there were some positives for us in terms of our structure and spells of possession. We have to keep working."

The side take on Woodley United this Sunday in the Berks & Bucks County Cup at Fairfields Sports Hub, kicking off a 2pm.

Healy added: "We have to take it on the chin and move onto next week. We've now got a quarter final in the cup to prepare for, and we have to put on a good performance for the fans."

Goal of the Month Result: October
Farhaan Ali Wahid's fantastic strike away at Wycombe Wanderers has been named Fulham's Goal of the Month for October.

The 18-year-old has been crowned Goal of the Month winner for the second month in a row, after his silky run and finish against Birmingham City Under-21s saw him take the majority of votes for September.

His October-winning goal came in the U21s' 3-1 defeat at Adams Park in the Vertu Trophy.

After picking the pocket of Chairboys defender Niall Huggins, Ali Wahid shifted the ball onto his right foot and found a low, crisp finish into the near corner beyond Mikki Van Sas.

"It's probably been one of my most memorable moments so far," said Ali Wahid. "Scoring against a League One side, and a good League One side as well. I'm happy to win it again!"

Ali Wahid's driven finish romped home to victory with over 90 per cent of the vote. Josh King's first professional goal came in second (4.4%), with Ryan Sessegnon's opening goal at Bournemouth rounding off the top three (2.2%).

The early Sunderland and Fulham team and injury news as Marco Silva reveals key new concern
Sunderland will face Fulham at Craven Cottage after the international break

Sunderland will face Fulham at Craven Cottage when their Premier League campaign resumes after the current international break.

Both Régis Le Bris and Marco Silva have some key concerns ahead of the game, so here we bring you up to speed with all the latest news from both camps...

The early Sunderland team news ahead of Fulham clash
Sunderland could have three players back in contention for the trip to Fulham.

Omar Alderete is close to rejoining full training after concluding the concussion protocols, with Régis Le Bris hopeful that he will be able to top up his match sharpness during the upcoming international break.

Speaking last Friday, Le Bris said: "It's not really serious, but the conclusion protocol is really strict and we followed it. So he won't be available this weekend. Probably he will be able to get some minutes with his national team progressively and get ready for Fulham.

"I think he's in a good place and to get fit again, it will be necessary to play. So I think it will be nice for him and for us [if he gets some minutes for Paraguay]."

Dennis Cirkin and Romaine Mundle could also be in contention to return after resuming full training over the last week. Cirkin made his comeback in the U21s 4-2 win over Ipswich on Friday night.

Speaking on Friday, Le Bris said: "Romaine is close to playing as well, so we wanted to delay a bit Romaine's return because of his injury. A hamstring injury is a little bit different so we wanted consistency across two or three weeks where he could be in full training, and he's in a good place now. So he could be close for the Fulham game."

Leo Hjelde is back in training after undergoing surgery on both achilles in the summer, though Aji Alese is still recovering from injury. Habib Diarra is expected back in early December and is hoping to be available to face Newcastle United before the Africa Cup of Nations begins a week later.

Le Bris has one key concern to closely monitor in the next block of Premier League fixtures, with Noah Sadiki and Granit Xhaka now just one yellow card away from a suspension.

The early Fulham team news
Fulham have been handed a major injury concern after striker Rodrigo Muniz appeared to aggravate a hamstring issue that he had not long returned from on Saturday. Muniz was introduced as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Everton, but was forced off shortly after.

The severity of the injury is not yet known but boss Marco Silva admitted afterwards that he was concerned.

"Bad news for us when a player comes in that we have to take off after 10/15 minutes, it's not a good sign," he said.

"It's been difficult in that position, Raúl Jimenez, as you know, is not at his best at the moment [recovering from injury] it's not easy for him to reach these levels of intensity. I don't remember one full training session from him in the last 15 days. And, of course, after Rodrigo came on, he had a good impact in the game and then he felt something again in the same leg, same area of the hamstring. It looks like not good news for us. It was 50/50, it was precaution."

Fulham could also be without left back Antonee Robinson for Sunderland's visit. Robinson is not involved with the USA squad over the international break, with Silva confirming ahead of the Everton game that he was not yet back in full training.

'I see him every single day on the pitch, but unfortunately for us, not fully fit to be involved," Silva said.

"He is there in the beginning of the session, but doing individual work. He is getting better, but I cannot give a timescale right now - let's see what happens after the international break.
