I'm really not sure how legal or illegal this is, but telling your most prolific goalscorer not to score? Match-fixing?

This is the same Barcelona who paid (and have admitted paying) the best part of ten million Euros to the EUFA head of referees, Negreira for "refereeing reports" - a charge dismissed because a Spanish court decided Barcelona could not be found guilty of corruption because Negreira held "non-public official status". I must be alone in finding this astonishing because it got so little publicity.

And is it also correct that a bizarre court ruling in Spain stops, and must stop, EUFA from imposing its own sanctions of a breach of its own rules?

If national laws always have precedence, how can you impose rules such as Financial Fair Play, which would have no standing in a court? If you argue that the rules of EUFA membership allow them to impose these on members as a condition of membership, then surely you should be able to declare bribing referees as a breach worthy of punishment .. and basically this is one of the most severe breaches imaginable.

Anyone have any ideas? Or is the only conclusion that EUFA itself is totally corrupt?

I wonder if we've got similar arrangements with a few of our players!  ::tongue::

Slightly tongue in cheek but perhaps that's what we have told Berge Lukic & Traore? Do you think they had goal scoring bonus in their contracts? If so club have saved a small fortune.

Could he assist and add value more generally?

Strange circumstances for sure.

Odd world we live in, everything is being overdone and overthought- very twisted to buy a player, and then not get them to play to the best of their ability

Well, JKA seems to be getting very few minutes despite Muniz's injury and Raul being out on his feet at the 70 minute mark. Is there an obligation to pay Bayern if he plays over a certain amount of minutes??

My understanding was it's the opposite which makes it even more baffling. i.e If the more he plays the less we pay. 🤷
But suggests Marco really just doesn't trust him at this stage. Wouldn't be surprised if we bought pepi and sent him back at this point, unless we really do believe in the kids future.

If you look in the very small print.... certain clubs can do exactly what they want

There's probably corruption throughout higher level football . I have no firm evidence just the experience of life.
