Fulham's top five moments of 2025
As the year draws to a close, here are the highest highs of the calendar year.

It's the something-of-December, I'm stuffed, I'm hungover, and I'm nostalgic. It's been a strange year for Fulham - no huge, etched-in-your-memory-forever highs, and - thankfully - no discernable lows. I guess that's our new reality as a stable Premier League club. But despite this, there were plenty of moments to savour and enjoy. Here are what I believe are the top five.

1. Dumping the holders out of the FA Cup
It was our year. That's how it felt after we vanquished the demons of Old Trafford and sent Manchester United out of the FA Cup. It was meant to be our year.

Calvin Bassey put us ahead in the dying embers of the first half, only for Bruno Fernandes (who else?) to equalise. But we never felt like we'd leave Manchester empty-handed.

The penalty shoot-out was the Bernd Leno show. Our number one rightly came in for this game, displacing early round 'keeper Steven Benda, and promptly saved two spot-kicks to have us all dreaming of a first domestic cup final in 50 years.

Sadly, we threw it all away in the meekest fashion at home to eventual winners Crystal Palace. It still hurts.

2. Beating the champions elect
Arne Slot's Liverpool were sauntering to their second Premier League title in five years, arriving at the Cottage unbeaten in 26 games. This one was a foregone conclusion for most listeners of The Overlap.

But three goals in less than 15 minutes put the willies up the Reds, after Alexis Mac Allister had put them one up early on. Ryan Sessegnon - who had provided another wonderful moment three weeks earlier as we vanquished Spurs at home - along with Alex Iwobi, and Rodrigo Muniz sent the Cottage into raptures and Liverpool couldn't recover, despite pulling one back through Luis Diaz late on.

It did nothing to hurt Liverpool's title charge, but it was a lovely springtime afternoon at our place.

3. Doing the Brentford derby double
Who put the ball in the Brentford net?

This was prime derby day delight. Beating Brentford on their own patch to do the double over them for the first time in more than 75 years, and more quick-fire goals turning the game on its head.

Brentford thought they were in the driving seat at the break after Mbeumo and Wissa had cancelled out Raul Jimenez's opener. But two goals in two minutes, first from Tom Cairney and then from the Beekeeper himself, Harry Wilson, gave us all slim hopes that we might be able to gatecrash the top eight.

It was Wilson's third goal of his four against the Bees for Fulham (so far), having bagged the match-winning double at the Cottage in November, and of course he'd score again in our 3-1 in September. TC scoring in what we thought was his final derby was also poignant at the time, with the skipper being held aloft at full-time. Ain't nobody.

4. The Kenny Tete UNO reverse
It was a done deal - or so they said.

King Kenny was set to call time on his five-year relationship with FFC to join Everton's new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. A verbal agreement was made on a three-year deal, according to the king of engagement farming, Fabrizio Romano.

Kenny was out of contract, and a move to David Moyes's men would earn him a bumper payday in the form of a signing-on bonus, as well as the chance to play for the Toffees' ambitious new ownership at an exciting time. It felt like a move that pleased everyone but us.

However, in what would kickstart our "summer of retention", the club finally offered Kenny terms he was happy with and our Dutch right-back decided to stay at Craven Cottage, sending the Everton fanbase into meltdown on X.

Josh King, Tom Cairney, and Rodrigo Muniz would join Tete in pledging their futures to the Whites during the summer.

5. Three in a row to ignite our season
We tailed off at the end of 2024/25, losing six of our last nine games to look at the European places and wonder what might have been. That sluggish finish looked to continue into this campaign, when we flirted a bit too close to the bottom three for anyone's liking.

But three wins in a row - away to Burnley at Turf Moor, at home to Nottingham Forest, and then on the road again against West Ham at the London Stadium, has kick-started our campaign in a way few of us expected.

Now, we are (just) back in the top half of the table, and looking ahead to a second half of the season in the middle of a congested pack where any side could mount a challenge for Europe.

We have two fewer points than at the same stage last year, but we've won a game more. It's typical of how hard it is to maintain perspective when comparing the two.

It's rarely dull with Marco Silva's Fulham. We have drawn just three games this calendar year, winning 16 and losing 18.

With Marco Silva reportedly close to inking a new deal, I hope 2026 includes one or two of those etched-in-your-memory-forever highs. I've had a few personally, with my eldest starting to take the Whites into his heart. Moments like Raul's winner on Saturday will certainly stay with me forever.

That's what it's all about. You Whites.

Fulham and Crystal Palace looking to sign Norwegian international
Oscar Bobb is set to leave Manchester City as the club moves closer to completing the signing of Antoine Semenyo next month. Semenyo has become the subject of a high-profile transfer battle between City and Liverpool, with Manchester City currently considered the favourites to secure his signature. The club have been monitoring the attacker for some time and believes he could become one of the finest additions to their squad if they succeed in the transfer race.

Liverpool is pushing hard to win the race, but the prevailing view is that Semenyo will choose City over their Merseyside rivals. For Bobb, this development further limits his prospects. Already struggling for game time at Manchester City, the arrival of Semenyo would push him even further down the pecking order, reducing his chances of featuring in matches. With the World Cup approaching this summer, securing regular minutes has become increasingly important.

Potential move and transfer interest
Given the circumstances, a transfer for Bobb next month seems likely. Manchester City are reported to be open to letting him leave in search of opportunities elsewhere. According to Sporten, at least four clubs have expressed interest in acquiring the attacker once the transfer window opens. Fulham, Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla have all registered their interest, monitoring his performances for City and assessing his suitability for their squads.

These clubs see Bobb's profile as aligning with their ambitions for the coming seasons, making him an attractive option for teams seeking creative and versatile attacking options.

Choosing the right destination
Bobb now faces an important decision regarding the next step in his career. Selecting a club where he is guaranteed meaningful game time will be essential, both to maintain his development and to strengthen his chances of featuring in major international tournaments. A move that provides regular starts and a central role in the team would allow him to rebuild momentum and showcase his abilities at the highest level, ensuring that his potential is fully realised.

Ricardo Pepi reportedly drawing transfer interest from Fulham
Tis the silly season

It's nearly January which means that the January transfer window is set to open. While the week between New Years and Christmas is typically a time void that feels as if it spans anywhere from three to 47 days where sleep and meal schedules are wildly jostled about ahead of the return to schools and offices, football clubs are busy planning moves for the second half of their seasons. That means there are gifts that could be opened in the form of transfer moves to begin the year.

This year that could be Ricardo Pepi heading to Fulham for upwards of $50 million according to The Daily Mail. The report notes that the Cottagers are in need of help upfront and are willing to spend a tidy sum to bring in the right player. Pepi was linked to the club in the past and his showing with PSV this year has kept that interest strong. The striker has 10 goals and 3 assists across playing in the Eredivisie and Champions League while being in and out of the starting XI.

Moving to the Premier League would obviously be a step forward for Pepi, but it may also risk his playing time ahead of the World Cup. At 22, he is getting attention in top leagues in Europe and it should only be a matter of time before he moves onto a higher level of competition, it's yet to be seen if the timing of that move is right at this moment.

Crystal Palace, Fulham tracking Harvey Elliott situation amid Aston Villa woes
Crystal Palace and Fulham are monitoring Harvey Elliott's situation, with the player unlikely to make his move to Aston Villa a permanent one.

According to TEAMtalk, Harvey Elliott has two new suitors in the form of Crystal Palace and Fulham, as his Aston Villa career is about to end. He might return to Liverpool in January, but could only join another club next summer, so his immediate future hangs in the balance.

Harvey Elliott made his move to Aston Villa back in the summer on loan with a conditional obligation of £35 million. The conditions state that should Elliott play a certain number of games for the West Midlands outfit, they may have to pay that sum to Liverpool.

Liverpool are certainly keen to offload the player permanently, although Unai Emery feels the £35 million could be spent elsewhere. Hence, Aston Villa are expected to send Elliott back to Liverpool in January, although the loan agreement does not include a recall clause.

So, the two clubs need to find a way to successfully terminate the contract or alter the arrangements that allow Harvey Elliott to keep playing from time to time without the need to trigger the permanent deal. Should he return to Anfield, there will be little choice for Liverpool but to keep the player in their mix, as FIFA rules stipulate a player cannot feature for three teams in a season.

Hence, any transfer will have to wait until the summer, as Liverpool are likely to sell him should he return to the club. Arne Slot does rate the £35 million-rated Liverpool misfit to an extent, but the youngster may not have an easy route back into the team as things stand.

Harvey Elliott to Fulham or Crystal Palace?
Crystal Palace and Fulham are the latest to keep tabs on Elliott's situation, as the £35 million-rated Liverpool misfit does represent a big option for the Londoners. Elliott came through Fulham's academy and joined Liverpool, and a return to Craven Cottage could be a good idea to further his career.

As for Crystal Palace, they are a progressive team looking to build a young core of talented players, as Oliver Glasner could be the man to get the best out of Elliott. While a January move is all but ruled out, the Londoners are keeping tabs ahead of next summer.

Tottenham should pip Crystal Palace and Fulham in pursuit of Premier League 'machine' in January
Tottenham Hotspur need to add more quality to their attacking department in the January transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping that their 1-0 win away at Crystal Palace last time out can be a turning point in their season. The London outfit have struggled for consistency so far in this campaign. They find themselves sat in 11th place in the Premier League table after 18 fixtures.

Thomas Frank was starting to feel a bit of heat before their victory at Selhurst Park. The former Brentford man has the chance to bolster his ranks in the January transfer window. He also has the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed this winter.

Tottenham Hotspur should target Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb
Spurs were linked with Manchester City attacker Savinho in the summer but nothing materialised in the end. They should now turn their attention to his teammate Oscar Bobb, who is facing an uncertain future ahead of next month. According to talkSPORT, Crystal Palace and Fulham are interested along with Sevilla.

Fulham consider second offer for PSV striker after having £26m bid rejected
Fulham are considering a revised offer after having a £26million proposal rejected for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi.

Daily Mail Sport reported at the weekend how Fulham had rekindled their interest in the USA international but PSV are reluctant to sell the 22-year-old who has been prolific for them in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Fulham had considered an approach for Fiorentina's Moise Kean but it is understood coach Marco Silva preferred to explore other options.

Pepi, nicknamed 'El Toro', hails from El Paso, Texas and although he was born in the USA he grew up watching Mexican football and even supported the Mexico national team as a boy.

He is valued closer to £40million by PSV who rejected an offer of £25m from West Ham a year ago.

Pepi has scored nine goals so far this season on the back of 17 in 28 games last season when he also picked up a knee injury. But the key will be whether PSV can be persuaded to sell. Pepi also wants to be settled with a World Cup place to play for.

Fulham Suffer 'Does Not Seem Realistic' Blow In Transfer Chase
Fulham have had a bid for attacker Ricardo Pepi turned down by Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, with a move in the January transfer window for the American not seen as realistic in the Netherlands.

Cottagers boss Marco Silva is keen for reinforcements in the winter window and adding extra firepower is on his mind.

PSV Eindhoven star Pepi has had interest from the Premier League across a number of transfer windows.

Both Chelsea and Wolves showed keen interest in signing him in 2022, but he headed for Germany with Augsburg.

PSV Eindhoven signed the attacker from Augsburg after he had a positive loan spell in the Netherlands with FC Groningen.

Now Fulham want to bring the 22-year-old to the capital, but a bid of around £26m for his services has failed.

PSV Eindhoven are currently without Alassane Plea and Myron Boadu and, according to Dutch journalist Jeroen Kapteijns, the club selling Pepi 'does not seem realistic'.

Fulham would appear to have serious work to do to convince the Dutch giants to do business and let the American leave midway through the campaign.

PSV Eindhoven sit top of the Eredivisie table and eleven points clear of Feyenoord in second.

Losing Pepi could well be to put that advantage at risk and Fulham face needing to put money on the table that would be impossible to turn down.

Pepi, who is under contract in the Netherlands until the summer of 2030, has so far found the back of the net ten times in 21 outings for PSV Eindhoven this term.

He has also shown his quality in the Champions League, scoring against Napoli, Olympiacos and Atletico Madrid in the league phase.

Pepi will want to take extra care over what he does for the second half of the campaign, with the World Cup looming large on the horizon next summer.

A positive World Cup could boost Pepi's value even further, something PSV Eindhoven are likely to be taking account of.

NAC Breda hoping to sell former Fulham and Huddersfield Town defender this January
NAC Breda have made the decision to move Terence Kongolo to the U21 side as they no longer see him as part of their plans for the future. The former Fulham and Huddersfield defender is said to now have to train with the U21 for the rest of the season, although this feels like a move by the club to try and force the player to move on. NAC Breda are currently last in the Eredivisie and facing relegation, just a year after they made a return via the play-offs. That the former Fulham and Huddersfield defender is no longer considered part of the plans is a pretty damning indictment given their predicament.

Kongolo began his career with Feyenoord, where he played 138 games between 2011 and 2017. The defender spent just one year with Monaco before moving to England to join Huddersfield. Kongolo initially joined the Terrires on loan for the end of the 2017/2018 season before a permanent move the following season. Kongolo spent just a few seasons with the club before joining Fulham, again initially on loan before a permanent switch.

Kongolo had made 60 appearances for Huddersfield in both the Premier League and the Championship before joining Fulham, but never really amounted to much during his time in West London. Kongolo only made two appearances for Fulham, spending most of his time out on loan at Le Havre and Rapid Wien. In 2024 he joined NAC Breda on their return to the Eredivisie. He has made 23 appearances for the club, with just five of those coming this year. It looks highly unlikely that he will be adding to these.

Kongolo isn't the only former Fulham man to be in the NAC Breda squad. Denis Odoi, who spent a few seasons in the Premier League and Championship with Fulham, joined NAC Breda a few months ago.

USMNT January transfer window preview: Should Ricardo Pepi head to Fulham? Does a West Ham move suit Haji Wright?
GOAL takes a look at which players should stay or go in this winter transfer window

With the 2026 World Cup approaching, this January transfer window represents the final chance for players to change clubs beforehand. For U.S. Men's National Team hopefuls, the decisions made now carry real consequences.

Does a player chase a move up the ladder, despite the risks? Would a step down give a player the platform they need? What are the merits of just standing pat, continuing on, and thriving in something more comfortable? These choices are never simple.

Several USMNT players face key decisions this winter. GOAL examines who they are and what the January transfer window could hold for each.

Ricardo Pepi
One year later, Pepi is right back in the news again. Premier League clubs are reportedly swirling, with Fulham the latest club being linked with a big move for the PSV star - according to The Athletic.

The links come amid another strong run of form for Pepi. He was in prolific scoring form at this point last year before an injury ended any chance of a move, and his current production has again drawn interest from similar clubs.

This leaves an interesting decision for Pepi, then. He has earned his move up the ladder, and one could realistically argue that he has nothing left to prove at PSV. He has earned a step up and a chance to prove himself in a league like the Premier League. It's in those leagues where strikers show that they're among the best.

That said, a move in a World Cup year carries real risk. If Pepi maintains his current scoring rate, there's a strong case he enters 2026 as the USMNT's starting striker. A transfer could still work in his favor, but it also brings the possibility that things don't click. In that sense, PSV represents the safer option - the path that offers the clearest route back to a World Cup squad after narrowly missing out in 2022.

Because of that, the move might be to continue lighting it up for PSV, get to the World Cup, and then roll those dice. We've seen many players turn World Cups into massive moves. Pepi might be the next, as a good World Cup could elevate him into an even higher tier of clubs.

PREDICTION: STAY

Yunus Musah
There's no player in the USMNT pool that needs a change of situation more than Musah right now. That's not necessarily a change in scenery, to clarify, but situation? Oh yeah.

The loan to Atalanta hasn't worked out, although there have been signs of that changing. Musah is playing more now than he was a few weeks ago, but, in reality, that isn't saying much. Atalanta just don't appear to be particularly interested in his development.

Now to the big question: would he be better served fighting for minutes at Atalanta or fighting for minutes at Milan? That's the decision he faces. Maybe it's worth giving it a few more weeks to see if Atalanta give him more games in January, but at the moment, Milan may be the better option.

PREDICTION: LEAVE

Haji Wright
Premier League clubs, as well as teams in Turkey, have been linked with Wright. Based on multiple reports, however, Coventry City have no intention of letting him go.

It's easy to see why. Coventry sit eight points clear at the top of the Championship and look well positioned for promotion. Keeping Wright this season - and potentially beyond - would be central to those Premier League ambitions, which helps explain why the club has reportedly set a record-setting asking price to even consider a sale.

That, of course, raises the question of Wright's own ambitions. A step up is naturally appealing, but the Premier League club most strongly linked with him is West Ham, who appear headed in the opposite direction and could be relegated. Beşiktaş have also been mentioned, but while they remain a major force in Turkey, Wright has already played there - a spell that helped earn his move to England in the first place.

At the moment, there isn't a move that clearly makes sense for Wright, either in the short or long term, which makes staying the course the logical option. The only real reason to consider a transfer would be concern over his World Cup place, but even that feels manageable given that much of his competition is also playing in the Championship.

PREDICTION: STAY

Josh Sargent
Like Wright, Sargent has a history of performing in the Championship. The difference is that his Norwich team is on the opposite end of the table, sitting 23rd with a very real chance of being in League One next season.

Because of that, Sargent has a much bigger incentive to move. Again, like Wright, Sargent has been linked with West Ham, although those links have quieted a bit more in recent weeks. Given Norwich's position in the table, Sargent should be a bit more open to a potential move, even if his departure would effectively doom the club to relegation.

Sargent also has other goals in mind. At the moment, he's likely on the outside looking in for the World Cup squad, but a few goals in the Premier League could certainly alter that situation. Because of that, he'll have to, at the very least, consider it if a club in a bigger league and better situation comes knocking.

PREDICTION: LEAVE

Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams and Antonee Robinson
Yes, we've all seen the rumors. No, they shouldn't come true. All three of the USMNT mainstays above have been linked with Manchester United, and all three have zero reason to even consider it.

Starting with Pulisic, who has the least reason to move. He's already at a major club in the middle of a rebuild, and he's already the superstar at that major club. With AC Milan contending for a Scudetto, largely due to Pulisic's performances, there's no reason to go anywhere, least of all a Man Utd team that, like Milan, isn't playing in Europe this season.

Adams, meanwhile, is out for a while due to injury, ending any hopes of him making a move, not that he should have given his role at Bournemouth. Robinson, finally, has only just returned from injury to boost a Fulham team that is just a few points behind the Red Devils in the Premier League.

Could things change after the World Cup this summer? Sure. A January move, though, wouldn't make much sense for any of these three.

PREDICTION: STAY

Weston McKennie
The contract situation looms over everything and, according to reports out of Italy, isn't going away anytime soon. McKennie and Juventus do not appear close to a new deal, and anyone familiar with the sport knows what that often leads to. Clubs rarely allow valuable assets to run down their contracts - particularly players as important as McKennie.

It's wild, then, that it's gotten to this point. McKennie has remained vital to Juve, despite everything that's been done to write him off. Now, with just six months left on his contract, there's a very real chance that he could be on his way. How does Juventus react to that? Does the club sell in hopes of getting something, anything, back?

The answer is "probably not". The club still has high hopes for this season and, to achieve those targets, they'll almost certainly need McKennie. The best path forward, then, is likely to play this season out, continue negotiations, and see what happens. That's probably what's best for McKennie, too, as he would then hit the market following the World Cup, where he could maximize his value for suitors in Europe or stateside with MLS.

PREDICTION: STAY

Cole Campbell
Reports out of Germany insist Campbell is on his way out of Borussia Dortmund. And it makes sense.

After making his professional debut last season, Campbell went on to make six total appearances for the Dortmund first team. This season, he's been limited to just one. That, combined with a lackluster U-20 World Cup, has hurt his stock a bit, pushing him towards a likely exit.

A move to Club Brugge has been rumored, and that would seem to be a great landing spot for the young attacker. It's not a bad thing to make a move like this. In fact, it's anything but. One only needs to look at players like Malik Tillman, Chris Richards, and Tim Weah as players who left megaclubs at young ages only to get further cracks at the big time once they improved as players.

Campbell does need to improve, as all young players do. It now just seems likely that the best path towards doing that is not at Dortmund.

PREDICTION: LEAVE

Alex Freeman, Sebastian Berhalter, Diego Luna and Max Arfsten
We'll lump this group together, largely because they're in somewhat similar situations. All were unknown commodities on the international level at this point last year. All now look to be in a good place to go to a World Cup. So now, even with Europe watching on, it makes sense for them all to wait at least a few months for their crack at that level.

There's no underestimating what a World Cup can do for a player's value, and with the four mentioned above, playing at the World Cup looks like a real possibility. One glimpse or game-changing moment is enough for a player to really boost their stock. It's the world's best shop window. So, to get to that shop window in the best form, each should likely stay in MLS for the next few months and then figure the rest out later.

PREDICTION: STAY

PSV reportedly reject Fulham $33 million (£26 million) bid for USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi
Fulham have seen an initial $33 million (£26 million) bid for United States international striker Ricardo Pepi rejected by PSV Eindhoven, according to The Athletic. The Premier League club is expected to return with an improved offer as it looks to bolster its attack during the January transfer window, though competition remains for the 22-year-old's signature.

PSV reject Fulham approach for in-form American
The Dutch champions are under no immediate pressure to sell, having tied the forward down to a long-term contract earlier this year. Fulham are not believed to be alone in monitoring Pepi's availability, and another bid from Marco Silva's side is anticipated, according to the report.

The outlet reports Eredivisie side has taken a firm stance on their valuation of Pepi, who has established himself as one of the Eredivisie's most clinical finishers since joining the Dutch giants - with 25 goals in 59 appearances.

In December 2024, GOAL reported the striker drew a 20.7 million bid that was also rejected by PSV.

Pepi's scoring record continues to impress
Pepi has developed into one of PSV's most reliable attacking outlets, maintaining an excellent goals-per-minute ratio across domestic and European competitions. The striker has maintained an impressive scoring rate this season with 10 goals and two assists across all competitions in just 957 minutes of action. This follows his remarkable 2024-25 campaign, where he netted 18 goals in 1,132 minutes, ending up as one of PSV Eindhoven's top scorers despite missing half the season through a knee injury.

Pepi's development journey spans Europe and the MLS
The El Paso, Texas native signed a contract extension with PSV in February through June 2030, strengthening the club's negotiating position. Since leaving FC Dallas in 2022, Pepi has gained experience across Europe, including spells at FC Augsburg and FC Groningen, before making a permanent move to PSV.

What comes next as transfer window approaches
The coming weeks will determine whether the Premier League side can bridge the gap or if Pepi remains in Eindhoven beyond January.
