New deal for Cairney

The Club is delighted to announce that Tom Cairney has signed a contract to remain at Fulham for a further season.

The deal takes our Captain into a 12th campaign, keeping him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2027.

Speaking to FFCtv, Cairney said: "This is my club. This is where I want to be. As long as I keep playing, affecting games, and helping the Club on and off the pitch, then I'll stay as long as possible.

"I said last year that I wanted to stay for a long time, and this year's no different. I've loved being here, I've loved playing here. It's a special thing, my longevity here and the things we've done together, and are still doing together."

Tony Khan added: "I am thrilled that Tom Cairney has signed an extension with Fulham and that he will play his 12th season with us!

"Tom joined us in the summer of 2015 and has played an integral part in some of Fulham's finest moments, with vital goals, distinguished leadership and with his true passion for the Club. Tom delivers time and time again for the supporters he appreciates so much.

"Congratulations, Tom! Come on Fulham!"

Cairney continues to play a vital role in Marco Silva's squad, featuring 18 times so far this season. 2026 has been particularly productive for the skipper, with goal contributions against both Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough, while also starting the Liverpool draw and Chelsea win.

His excellent strike at Selhurst Park means he's just two goals shy of a half century for the Club, while he has now racked up 372 appearances, with the Boro match moving him above Sir Bobby Robson in our all-time appearances list.

The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Well it's a surprise considering no one mentioned it being close to happening. Still, I'm happy with the news!

Hatch007

Great news and glad it's done before the end of his current contract, hence no repeat of the uncertainty of last season's final home match 💪

1 down, 3 to go (Wilson, Silva, Rual)

Good news. If one were to guess Tom Cairney's age by his appearance, one would say around 25-27, but I am not an ageist. Cairney's gameplay does not require vast amounts of running nor pace. He uses his football brain and vision to spot telling passes that cut open defences that not many can do in the Premier League.

I hope he can get into the Scotland World Cup squad despite the sassanach-loathing, haggis-eating, bagpipe-blaring, Fulham-hating, ex-Chelsea Steve Clarke running the his hoof and hope tartan army.
Nick Bateman "knows his footie"

Been a great servant to the club. Will keep my powder dry for a while with regards to ambitions and sentiment. Played a blinder getting another year contract especially if on same level as current one?

Indeed we do do a fair bit of walking football,  but in any event Tom's vision and passing ability are clear assets.

Good news. He still has much to offer

Just Wilson and Silva for me. Much as I love Raul

If we have Pepi and Muniz I'd want the third place to be a young prospect (like JKA/ALB or another)

His wages are reportedly one of the biggest at the club and I think some of that is better put to use strengthening in other areas tbh.

Outside of that...

Very happy to hear TC gets another year. Do hope he can find a way to retire here. Club legend.

It's a feel good move AND he's backed it up on the pitch this year. He clearly offers so much as a club man to this squad and our younger players. Congratulations Tom!

I have my view on him playing but he would make a great role model and coach which is where I hope he ends up at Fulham

Wait til Piri wakes up, we won't hear the last of it.

My view was thanks and good luck but then if it keeps old Piri happy it's worth it. ::scarf::

Excellent news. TC's been performing really well of late and has earned it. Love watching him play football, so classy.

I'm sure some of our older fans can correct me if I'm wrong but I think this now means next season TC will equal Johnny Haynes's club record for 10 seasons as club captain.

Seriously impressive stuff.

HV71

Great news indeed. He really does have something to offer both on ,and off, the pitch.

Yeh I agree id love him in our youth setup

But sadly he seems more interested in punditry and media stuff. I say sadly for the club, but at least it would mean we get to see plenty of him even after he retires, and nice to have a Fulham advocate on panels

Signing Cairney for another = No ambition

Twig

Brilliant news, he's been an important part of our bench this year and there is absolutely no reason why he shouldn't do so again next season.
