Former Sunderland, Fulham and Coventry City boss among candidates for Leicester City job – reports
Reports suggest a former Sunderland, Fulham and Coventry City boss is being considered for the Leicester City role

Former Sunderland manager Chris Coleman has been linked with a potential return to English football management after emerging as a candidate for the vacant Leicester City head coach position.

According to Pete O'Rourke, the former Coventry City, Wales and Fulham boss is among the names under consideration as Leicester assess their options following the departure of their previous manager. Coleman is understood to be well known to Leicester's ownership group due to his previous role at OH Leuven, the Belgian club that forms part of the same multi-club structure.

The connection is believed to be a factor in Coleman's inclusion on Leicester's longlist, with his experience of working within that ownership model viewed as a potential advantage during the early stages of the recruitment process.

Coleman's managerial career spans more than two decades and includes spells across domestic and international football. He has managed over 500 senior matches, working in England, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, China and Belgium, alongside his most notable success as manager of the Wales national team, where he led the country to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

His club career began at Fulham, where he spent four years in charge, before shorter stints at Real Sociedad and Coventry City. Coleman later took on the Wales role, which remains the standout period of his managerial career, before returning to club football with roles at Sunderland, Hebei China Fortune, Atromitos, AEL Limassol, OH Leuven and most recently Asteras Tripolis.

For Sunderland supporters, Coleman's name inevitably recalls a difficult and turbulent period. He was appointed head coach on 19 November 2017, taking charge of a Championship side already entrenched in the relegation zone following the dismissal of Simon Grayson. The Black Cats were sitting third from bottom at the time, struggling both on and off the pitch.

Coleman's first match came just two days later, a 2-1 defeat away at Aston Villa, and while results initially stabilised, wider issues quickly began to undermine any recovery. Sunderland collected 11 points from their final eight league matches of 2017, briefly moving out of the bottom three and raising hopes of a survival push.

That momentum was halted by a challenging January transfer window, during which Coleman was informed that then-owner Ellis Short would not commit further funds to squad strengthening, with the club actively being prepared for sale. Recruitment was limited to loans and free transfers, leaving the squad short of quality and depth.

Several players arrived on short-term deals, but Sunderland's form deteriorated sharply, culminating in a nine-game winless run. That sequence ended with a 4-1 victory away at Derby County, which proved to be Coleman's final win in charge.

Relegation to League One was confirmed following a 2-1 defeat at home to Burton Albion, and Coleman was dismissed shortly after the club's sale was completed, following a final 2-1 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage. In total, he oversaw 29 matches, winning five, drawing eight and losing 16 during his time on Wearside.

Why Raúl Jiménez deserves cult hero status
Our Mexican striker has won the hearts and minds of the Craven Cottage crowd.

"I don't know, man... If Raúl Jiménez is our only replacement for Mitro, then that screams relegation to me."

This is what Sammy James said to me after we heard the news Fulham had signed the then-misfiring Raúl Jiménez for £5.5m from Wolves in the summer of 2023. You may be wondering why I'm outing my fellow Fulhamish host, business partner, and friend, by quoting him like this. It's because - to my shame - I agreed with him.

Fast forward to now, and I have never been happier to have been proved wrong. I believe Raúl Jiménez has earned cult hero status at Fulham. Here's why...

The origin
Jiménez arrived in SW6 amid continued speculation of Aleksandar Mitrović's impending departure. Our Serbian talisman did indeed trade Bishops Park for endless sands; the river for nondescript shopping malls; greatness for bucketloads of cash.

We were heartbroken, and Raúl was held up to us like a rescue puppy gifted to the kids by parents trying to appease the kids following a painful divorce.

The discount price for a proven Premier League striker was an indication that Wolves were prepared to cut their losses on a forward who had - totally understandably - struggled for form.

We can't deny that the transition was difficult; Raúl endured a 336-day goal drought before finally finding the net for the Whites. We knew the talent he possessed, but the injury that almost cost him his life had taken its toll.

Skip forward three years, and there's a genuine claim that the very signing we initially questioned is perhaps the most shrewd bit of business the club has pulled off in recent history. We've had 24 goals (and counting) for £5.5m - not a bad return at all. Silva's unwavering trust in Raúl has paid off, as he has rediscovered the predatory instincts that once made him one of the league's most feared strikers.

The comeback
First season under his belt, and following a backheel-laden purple patch, I wrote how we could potentially expect an Indian Summer from Raúl in the 2024/25 season. With one year left on his contract, I predicted our vintage Mexican would find fine form with an eye to securing an extension.

14 goals in 43 games in all competitions proved me right, I'd say. After helping us beat Bretford at the GTech, do the double over Newcastle, bag a winner from the spot away at Nottingham Forest and gain an impressive point at home to Arsenal (to name but a few), he had rightly earned his new contract.

What's more, in January 2025, a brace from the penalty spot against Ipswich Town saw him overtake Javier Hernández as the highest-scoring Mexican player in Premier League history, a milestone that cemented his legacy in English football while wearing Fulham white. On top of this, Raúl became the joint most-deadly footballer in the history of the Premier League from the penalty spot, tied with Yaya Toure with a 100% record from 11 spotkicks.

This season Raúl has found a new gear. A goal and that celebration during Fulham's recent victory over Chelsea will be enough in many people's eyes to secure cult hero status alone. Unless something monumental happens, perhaps that will be the cherry on the top of Raúl's Fulham career. Sprinkle in winners against Sunderland, Forest and West Ham this season already... and you've got yourself an Icon Sundae.

During Muniz's period on the sideline I've repeatedly excused Raúl for his perceived 'tiredness' after playing so many minutes at the ripe old age of 34. But the truth is... he looks more energised than ever. Game after game, Raúl puts in aggressive, tenacious performances and looks a man hell-bent to hit the form of his life going into a home World Cup this summer.

He only ever looks tired after running himself into oblivion for 85 minutes before Marco reluctantly gives JKA his cameo. His game has developed at Fulham under Marco. He is no longer an out-and-out poacher, but is instrumental in Fulham's attacking build-ups, linking play spectacularly with deft touches and skillful flicks. During the average game Jiménez makes more connections than an out-of-work Jake Humphries on LinkedIn.

The icon
Performances on the pitch aside, cult heroes aren't defined by trophies or goal tallies; they're remembered for moments, resilience, and the bond they form with supporters. In all of these respects, Jiménez fits the profile perfectly.

His continued performances show a player motivated not just to score goals, but to contribute selflessly to the team's cause. His intelligent movement, link-up play, and willingness to battle physically made him a crucial focal point in Fulham's attack, even in matches where he didn't find the net.

What truly elevates Jiménez to cult hero status is his narrative of redemption. Us supporters cherish stories of perseverance, and Jiménez's return to elite football after his injury resonates deeply. Each goal he scores carries emotional weight, not only because of its importance to Fulham's results, but because it symbolises triumph over adversity. We don't simply celebrate his goals; we celebrate the man behind them.

Jiménez embodies values Fulham fans admire; professionalism, humility, and visible passion for the badge that reflects a player who understands the privilege of representing our club. He celebrates goals with genuine emotion (even when imitating a turbot), acknowledges the fans, and plays with a sense of gratitude. That connection cannot be manufactured; it is earned through authenticity.

For these reasons, Raúl Jiménez deserves recognition as a Fulham cult hero. Who knows, he may even be a cup run away from legend status.

West Ham sign winger Traore from Fulham
West Ham have signed winger Adama Traore from Fulham in a deal worth up to £2m.

The 30‑year‑old moves from west to east London, where he reunites with Nuno Espirito Santo, who managed him at Wolves.

The deal, worth an initial £1m, could rise to £2m with add-ons and runs until the end of the season with the option of a further year.

Capped eight times by Spain, Traore has made just two Premier League starts for Fulham this season and was not involved in their 2–1 win at home to Brighton on Saturday.

"I'm so happy to be here, so happy to help the team the maximum I can and show my quality," said Traore.

"My mentality is always to do better. It's always to improve as a player, to help the team as much as I can and I always say, if I'm the same person as yesterday, it's one day lost.

"I love the challenges. I think, of course, we have to go game by game. And this is what we're going to do, trying to do our best. I think everything comes from belief. And I believe we're going to achieve what we're looking for."

Traore's final appearance for Fulham was in the 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on 10 January.

Having started his career at Barcelona, Traore had spells at Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Wolves before joining Fulham in 2023 on a free transfer.

West Ham have been among the most active teams in the January transfer window, signing forwards Pablo Felipe from Gil Vicente for £20m and Taty Castellanos from Lazio for £25.2m.

They are also in talks to sell midfielder Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo, having already sold Guido Rodriguez to Valencia and Luis Guilherme to Sporting, while German Niclas Fullkrug has joined AC Milan on loan.

The Hammers' busy winter window comes with the club still in the relegation zone on 20 points, five off safety despite winning their last two league matches, with 15 fixtures left to play.

Traore completes move to West Ham
Adama Traore has completed a move from Fulham to West Ham.

The Spanish winger, 30, joined Fulham in 2023 and made 79 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing assists.

His move reunites him with West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who previously managed him at Wolves.

"He is someone I obviously know well from our time together at Wolves, and I am looking forward to working with him again," Nuno told West Ham's website.

"Adama is someone who knows the Premier League very well, and his unique qualities as a player will help us between now and the end of the season."

Meanwhile, Fulham remain in talks to sign Manchester City's Oscar Bobb – a deal appears to be close – and PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi.

Next Leicester City Manager: Ex Crystal Palace and Fulham star linked with King Power vacancy
Leicester City could look to appoint the former Wales manager at the King Power Stadium to mentor a future head coach.

Ex Crystal Palace and Fulham star Chris Coleman has been linked with a return to management in the UK following the sacking of Marti Cifuentes at Leicester City over the weekend.

The former QPR head coach was given his marching orders following a 2-1 defeat to struggling Oxford United at the King Power Stadium. That result left the Foxes 14th in the Championship and six points off the play-off places.

Cifuentes had won just 11 of his 31 matches in charge of the side, having been tasked with securing an immediate return to the Premier League following relegation last season. Leicester City now look to appoint a new manager with plenty to play for this season.

Chris Coleman 'under consideration' at Leicester City
Earlier this week, former Millwall and Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett had been linked with the job and now, according to transfer specialist Pete O'Rourke, another candidate has emerged in Coleman.

The 55-year-old last worked at Asteras Tripolis but was dismissed by the Greek side earlier this month with just three wins in 15. Coleman's last job in the UK was at Sunderland, where he was sacked in April 2018 when the club was demoted to League One.

Since then, the former Wales manager has worked in China, Cyprus and Belgium, as well as in Greece. His post with OH Leuven could play a key role, should he land the job at Leicester City.

Taking to social media platform X on Monday evening, O'Rourke wrote: "Former Wales and Fulham boss Chris Coleman is among the names under consideration for the vacant manager's job at Leicester City. Coleman is well-known to the Leicester ownership, having worked for their sister club OH Leuven in Belgium.

"Coleman could act as a mentor for interim boss Andy King, who the Foxes have high hopes as a coach in the future. Coleman would be happy to work alongside King due to their long-standing association together with Wales."

Ex Crystal Palace and Fulham star could make Championship management return
Coleman made a name for himself as a player in London with long stints at both Fulham and Crystal Palace. The former defender played 161 times for the Cottagers and 117 times for the Eagles, winning the First Division with both clubs, as well as the Second Division with Fulham.

The 55-year-old's first job in management came at Craven Cottage shortly after he hung up his playing boots. Coleman was in charge of the side between 2003 and 2007, becoming the youngest manager in the Premier League when appointed in May 2003.

Coleman led Fulham to a ninth place finish in his first season in charge, working with key players such as Edwin Van de Sar, Louis Saha and Luis Boa Morte.

Pepi to Fulham: Where transfer stood on Tuesday night as drama builds
Fulham's attempts to sign Ricardo Pepi from PSV Eindhoven are looking likely to be drawn out all the way to deadline day.

That's at least if the latest information from PSV Fans and Soccer News is anything to go by. They have comments from journalists Rik Elfrink and Mounir Boualin regarding the striker today.

Fulham have been working on a deal for Pepi for weeks, despite PSV's reluctance to sell the striker. The Dutch side had initially chased Marco Silva's side away, insisting that a deal would not happen.

Their approach appears to have changed in the face of Fulham's insistence, though. The Premier League side's apparent desire to spend €30m plus on the forward has clearly had an effect.

PSV rejected Fulham's latest bid of €32m this week, despite various voices in the Netherlands telling them to take the money and run. And it seems Fulham don't want to move beyond that yet, according to Elfrink.

"Pepi – Fulham – PSV: no agreement reached on a transfer as of late last night," he said.

"Fulham refused to budge and PSV refused to lower the price. Deal not yet done, but not off the table."

That latter part is key, according to Boualin. He reports that Fulham and PSV are closing in on each other for the striker, and he expects the two clubs to reach an agreement eventually. That's despite Pepi being out injured with a broken arm.

Why Pepi drama looks on the way for Fulham
"What I understand is that Fulham simply won't give up. The gap between supply and demand is very small," he added about the Pepi drama.

"They're not quite there yet, but that could happen at any moment, it could be in an hour or a day. The rumours are that it will work out, but with something like this, it's also true: if nothing has been agreed yet, it's simply not finalised yet.

"PSV and Fulham are simply negotiating a fee that PSV wants. Fulham is slowly but surely getting closer to that. Then all sorts of other things come into play: resale, certain other clauses. Those are all things that need to be ironed out."

Fulham are clearly serious on Pepi, and getting a deal agreed before the deadline.

Adama Traore: Winger joins West Ham United from Fulham - how much is his transfer fee?
West Ham have completed the signing of winger Adama Traore from Fulham.

The 30-year-old will make the move across London to be reunited with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who previously worked with him at Wolves.

The agreement includes an initial £1m fee, with a further £1m in potential add-ons. Traore has signed until the end of the season, with an option to extend for another year.

Traore, who has eight caps for Spain, has started just two Premier League matches for Fulham this season. He was not involved in their 2–1 home win over Brighton on Saturday.

Traore said: "I'm so happy to be here and ready to help the team as much as I can. "My mentality is always to improve and give everything. If I'm the same person as yesterday, that's a lost day.

"I love challenges. We have to take it game by game, believe in ourselves and do our best. I believe we can achieve what we're aiming for."

His final appearance for Fulham came in their 3–1 FA Cup win over Middlesbrough on 10 January.

Traore began his career at Barcelona and has played for Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Wolves before joining Fulham on a free transfer in 2023.

West Ham have been one of the busiest clubs in the January transfer window, having already signed forwards Pablo Felipe from Gil Vicente for £20m and Taty Castellanos from Lazio for £25.2m.

The club are also in talks over the sale of midfielder Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo. Guido Rodriguez has joined Valencia, Luis Guilherme has moved to Sporting, and striker Niclas Fullkrug has joined AC Milan on loan.

Despite back-to-back league wins, West Ham remain in the relegation zone on 20 points, five points from safety with 15 matches remaining.

Manchester City and Fulham reach January transfer agreement for Oscar Bobb
Fulham have agreed a £27 million deal with Manchester City for the January signing of Oscar Bobb, as per reports.

Marco Silva is set to welcome the Manchester City academy graduate to his ranks as Bobb edges closer to a fresh start away from the Etihad Stadium in a bid to revitalise his career ahead of this summer's FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Bobb has struggled to find his feet in the City senior ranks this term and despite starting each of the Blues' first three Premier League games of the 2025-26 campaign, it has just not worked out for the 22-year-old in the north-west.

The Norway international has endured a torrid 18 months with recurring injuries that have derailed him from establishing himself as a regular starter under Guardiola, whose patience has been worn down by Bobb's unavailability amid City's pursuit of silverware on four fronts in the second half of the season.

City have bolstered their attacking ranks in January with the stellar addition of Antoine Semenyo, who has scored thrice in his first fortnight in sky blue and alleviated the goalscoring burden on Erling Haaland, who has scored just once in his nine appearances for the Blues.

Semenyo was on the scoresheet for City last week in a 2-0 win over Wolves – the Blues' first Premier League triumph of 2026 – after Omar Marmoush opened his league account for the season on his first club start since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bobb needs a fresh start to progress his career and with competition in the wide attacking areas greater than ever at the Etihad Stadium, the Norwegian has been handed an exit route in the final week of the January transfer window.

As first reported by Sky Sports News' Adrian Kajumba and Lyall Thomas, Manchester City and Fulham have agreed upon a £27 million deal for Oscar Bobb to move to Craven Cottage this month.

Additional details from MailSport's Jack Gaughan have further revealed that Manchester City have secured a 20% sell on in the deal, as well as matching rights on a future agreement, but do not have a buy-back clause in the transfer.

Fulham boss Marco Silva is understood to have spearheaded the Craven Cottage club's pursuit of Bobb, who has all the makings of a top player but has struggled to escape a cloud of injury in recent seasons.

Semenyo's extraordinary start to life in Manchester will inevitably cushion the blow of yet another academy graduate's sale for the City faithful – with Bobb following in the footsteps of James McAtee, Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Romeo Lavia and Morgan Rogers – as he departs the club having nearly made it in the first-team squad.

Having addressed their attack and defensive areas with the signings of Semenyo and Marc Guehi, Manchester City are not expected to welcome further new arrivals in January.

The club are working on finding a loan club for Kalvin Phillips and are willing to sanction a sale for fourth-choice goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno.

Oscar Bobb transfer news: Fulham agree £27m deal with Man City to sign Norway forward following Adama Traore departure
Fulham have agreed a £27m deal to sign Man City winger Oscar Bobb; Cottagers looking to add additional width to squad after Adama Traore completed his move to West Ham on Wednesday

Fulham have agreed a £27m deal with Manchester City to sign forward Oscar Bobb.
Sky Sports News understands a 20 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights have been inserted in the deal. Personal terms are ready for the 22-year-old Norway international to sign.

Fulham have also made a bid worth £28m for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi as they look to strengthen Marco Silva's side before Monday's deadline.

Several teams in the Bundesliga and Premier League were interested in signing Bobb, but the Cottagers are now pushing ahead to bring in the player.

Fulham are bringing in Bobb after Adama Traore completed a move to West Ham to reunite with Nuno Espirito Santo.

He has not played since starting City's Carabao Cup match against Brentford on December 17, where he was forced off with an injury inside 20 minutes.

Bobb joined City as a youngster from Valarenga in 2019 and broke into the first-team squad in 2023-24.

However, he missed all of last season with a broken leg suffered in pre-season.

Bobb has made 15 appearances for City this term, while also helping Norway qualify for the World Cup.

Fulham trying to sign PSV striker Pepi
Fulham have also made a bid worth £28m for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi.

The USA international, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season, was a target for Fulham last summer. They had a bid worth £21m rejected.

It is understood PSV are considering the latest offer for Pepi, whose contract runs until 2030.

However, the Dutch club want to sign a replacement before allowing Pepi's proposed move to Fulham progress.

Fulham have also held positive talks with Genk over the signing of striker Oh Hyeon-gyu

The South Korea international has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season. His contract at Genk runs until the summer of 2028.

Wilson likely to leave on a free
Fulham's star winger Harry Wilson is increasingly likely to become a free transfer in the summer.

Several Premier League clubs are believed to have shown interest in the winger this month, with just six months left on his contract.

But Fulham want to keep the player but Wilson has so far not agreed a new deal.

Fulham agree deal to sign Man City star
Manchester City host Turkish giants Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Citizens currently sit 11th in the Champions League group phase table and will therefore likely need a win to secure automatic qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.

City boss Pep Guardiola may opt to rotate his side for Wednesday's game, with several of his players having featured regularly in recent weeks.

One player that isn't likely to feature, however, it midfielder Oscar Bobb, who looks set to complete a move to another Premier League side.

Accoridng to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bobb is set to complete a move to London side Fulham.

He claims that the Cottagers have agreed a deal worth £27 million to sign the Norway international, who has featured 15 times for City so far this season.

Bobb, 22, joined City's youth setup as a teenager and has since progressed into the first team at The Etihad.

In total the winger has now made 47 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.

So far this season the attacker hasn't scored in any competition, and he has only started five Premier League games.

The Norwegian competes with the likes of Jeremy Doku and Savinho for a starting spot in Guardiola's side, and he has been pushed further down the pecking order in City's squad following the recent arrival of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Romano claims that City will benefit from a 20% sell-on clause that has been included in the deal, while the Manchester club will also have the option to match any offers from other clubs for the player.

Bobb is set to undergo a medical imminently before finalising his switch to Craven Cottage.

The Norwegian's contract with City isn't set to expire until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but it appears that he has played his final game for the club and will now represent the Whites.

Fabrizio Romano gives 'here we go' as Fulham complete major Premier League signing
Fulham have now sealed the deal to sign a Premier League star as reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano gives the 'here we go' this afternoon.

The club are actively pursuing multiple targets to strengthen Marco Silva's squad this window as the Cottagers look to build on their impressive form and challenge for European qualification.

The west London club have made Ricardo Pepi their top striking target, with multiple bids apparently rejected by PSV Eindhoven.

The USA international striker remains a priority as Silva seeks reinforcements following Rodrigo Muniz's injury, which has increased the burden on 34-year-old Raul Jimenez.

Midfield and wide positions also feature prominently in Fulham's recruitment plans.

The club were even linked with Chelsea starlet Tyrique George again, having nearly secured his signature last summer, with the 20-year-old winger showing flashes of talent despite limited Premier League opportunities at Stamford Bridge.

Silva emphasized the clarity of Fulham's transfer strategy, stating weeks ago that the club knows "clearly what we need" and that staff and board are aligned on recruitment priorities.

The Portuguese stressed that improved league form wouldn't alter their measured approach to squad building, and outgoings could facilitate new arrivals, with Adama Traoré now officially joining West Ham after limited playing time this season.

The forward's departure has freed up wages and squad space while generating funds for incoming transfers, and according to Romano, some of that cash has been immediately reinvested in Man City's Oscar Bobb.

Fulham complete deal for Man City sensation Oscar Bobb
Taking to X, Romano has now given his famous catchphrase with Fulham sealing a £27 million permanent deal for the winger after days of ongoing talks.

https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2016539330659909704

The Norwegian is a stellar capture for Silva after coming through the ranks at City and displaying plenty of promise at first, before a serious injury thwarted his chances of regular first-team action under Pep Guardiola.

The forward first emerged as a genuine prospect when he scored a dramatic injury-time winner against Newcastle in January 2024, helping City secure their historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Oscar Bobb: Fulham agree £27m deal to sign Man City winger
Norway star had fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad

Fulham have agreed a £27million deal for Manchester City midfielder Oscar Bobb.

Standard Sport understands Bobb will undergo a medical on Thursday before finalising the January move.

City retain a 20 per cent sell-on and hold the right to match any bid made for the winger in the future.

Bobb has struggled for minutes at City this season, making 15 appearances in all competitions and scoring one Premier League goal.

The Norway international, who spent the majority of last season out injured with a broken leg, had fallen further down the pecking order at City following the January arrival of Antoine Semenyo. He joins Fulham in search of minutes ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Fulham have been in the market for attacking reinforcements this month and last weekend submitted a bid for PSV forward Ricardo Pepi.

Pepi is a long-term target of Fulham, who are keen to pursue a deal despite him undergoing surgery on a broken arm at the start of January.

Asked about Fulham's January transfer activity heading into the final few days of the market, Silva said he and the club were aligned on what needed to be done before next Monday's deadline.

"What I can say is that we were aligned on everything we wanted to achieve in January," Silva said last week.

"The January transfer window is never easy. If the summer window is challenging, you can imagine how difficult January is.

"However, we remain aligned, and I truly believe the club is doing everything possible to implement the plan and structure we agreed on, which will serve us well in January."

Fulham agree Oscar Bobb deal as Manchester City include two key clauses
Bobb is set to complete a move to London for an initial £27m

Fulham have agreed to sign Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for an initial £27m.

As part of the deal, City will also get a 20 percent sell-on clause and matching rights in case they want to bring the Norway international back to the Etihad Stadium.

Bobb is set to join Fulham as a replacement for fellow winger Adama Traore, who has signed for West Ham, and means they have more cover in case Harry Wilson, who is out of contract at the end of the season, leaves Craven Cottage.

And selling Bobb helps City recoup some money after spending £82.5m in January on Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo.

The arrival of winger Semenyo from Bournemouth pushed Bobb further down the pecking order, with manager Pep Guardiola also able to call upon summer signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, plus Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, Omar Marmoush, Jeremy Doku and Savinho for the roles in attacking midfield and on the wing.

Bobb, who also attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, has started five Premier League games this season, but only two since August.

The 22-year-old made 47 appearances for City, scoring three goals – the most significant an injury-time winner at Newcastle in January 2024.

While City have spent around £430m in the last three transfer windows, they have also brought money in by selling players such as James McAtee, Maximo Perrone, Kyle Walker, Ederson and Bobb.

If Bobb passes a medical and completes his transfer in time, he could make his Fulham debut against Manchester United on Sunday.

Fulham agree £27m deal for Man City's Oscar Bobb - sources
Manchester City have agreed a fee with Fulham for winger Oscar Bobb, sources have told ESPN.

Bobb is set to move to Craven Cottage in a deal worth £27 million ($37m). City have also inserted a 20% sell-on clause, and agreed matching rights on any future bids for the 22-year-old.

The Norway international has been given permission to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms, with the transfer set to go through before the deadline on Monday.

City have allowed Bobb -- who was also the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund -- to move after signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth £64m earlier in January.

Bobb has made 15 appearances this season, but has slipped further down the pecking order following Semenyo's arrival.

The forward hasn't featured for City since December when he limped off during the Carabao Cup tie with Brentford.

He was restricted to just six appearances in all competitions last season after suffering a broken leg.

Bobb leaves City after making 47 appearances following his debut in 2023, scoring three goals.

He will hope his move to west London can help cement his place in the Norway squad ahead of next summer's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Man City put two clauses into Oscar Bobb deal as £27m Fulham transfer agreed
Manchester City have agreed a £27m deal with Fulham for Oscar Bobb and have inserted some extra clauses into the deal

Oscar Bobb will complete a £27m move to Fulham in the January transfer window after the West London club agreed a fee with Manchester City. The two clubs had been negotiating over a deal and have now found terms that suit both clubs.

City will bank an initial £27m for Bobb, who came through their academy after time in youth teams in Norway and Portugal and was introduced to the first team by Pep Guardiola in the 2023/24 season. He came off the bench to score the winner at St James' Park in a win that proved pivotal to the team making history and winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

However, as Bobb looked to cement his place in the team the next season he suffered a leg fracture on the eve of the campaign. He returned towards the end of the season but has struggled ever since to find his rhythm again, and Guardiola grew frustrated this year with the lack of risks he was taking in the penalty area.

Bobb has not played since coming off injured early in the Carabao Cup win over Brentford in December and the City manager has been frosty about his situation in recent weeks. Amid interest from Fulham, Guardiola said at the weekend that he thought the player wanted to leave.

City have agreed a deal with Fulham that will bring in £27m, but also allows them to benefit if Bobb impresses at Craven Cottage. The club have the ability to match any bid that comes in for Bobb - they used this clause to sign James Trafford last summer from Burnley when Newcastle made an offer and they convinced the player - and will also get 20 per cent of any profit that Fulham make if and when they sell him on; there is no buy-back clause in the deal, however.

West Ham sign Adama Traoré from Fulham
The 30-year-old winger has joined West Ham from Fulham for a reported fee of up to £2 million.

West Ham have completed the permanent signing of Fulham winger Adama Traoré, who has signed a deal until the end of the season, with an option for a further year.

Traoré becomes the East London club's fourth January signing after Pablo Felipe, Taty Castellanos and Keiber Lamadrid. He will wear the No. 17 shirt.

The move sees Traoré reunite with Hammers boss Nuno Espírito Santo, who brought the winger to the Premier League when he signed him in 2018 during his tenure at Wolves.

Traoré will bring pace and strength to West Ham's attacking line, which they are in need of, especially given their situation in the table.

Despite that, his contributions have been low over the last few years, so if he can return to the form he was on under Nuno at Wolves, Hammers fans will definitely be happy.

After joining Fulham in 2023, the Spaniard failed to impress, contributing 13 assists and scoring only four goals in 79 appearances.

This has seen his contract approach the final six months, which West Ham took advantage of by securing his signature for a minimal fee.

Before West Ham's game on Saturday against Sunderland, reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that the Hammers had reached a verbal agreement with Fulham to sign Traoré, and a medical would follow.

However, as always with West Ham transfers, nothing seems to go smoothly.

On the same day that it had been reported that an agreement had been reached, TalkSPORT and The Standard reported that the move had stalled. This was allegedly due to Traoré needing to speak with Nuno regarding game time.

Despite that, on Monday morning, reliable West Ham news correspondent, ExWHUEmployee, exclusively revealed that West Ham were closing in on signing the winger and that he was at West Ham's training ground, Rush Green, to finalise the move.

He was then announced on Wednesday morning.

Plenty of movement at the London Stadium
Traoré's move seems beneficial for West Ham and Fulham.

The East London club needed a winger after Luis Guilherme departed at the beginning of the window.

As for the Cottagers, Manchester City's Oscar Bobb has been strongly linked with a move to the club and with Traoré leaving, it seems negotiations will advance for the Norwegian.

It looks to be a busy end to the window for West Ham as they look to secure Premier League safety.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Antonín Kinský is reportedly close to joining the club on an initial loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Athletic correspondent David Ornstein has reported that James Ward-Prowse is set to have a medical at fellow Premier League strugglers Burnley ahead of a loan move.

Lucas Paquetá looks set to finally leave and rejoin Brazilian side Flamengo after the clubs have reportedly reached an agreement.

West Ham announced yesterday that defender Igor Julio will return to Brighton & Hove Albion after his loan move was cut short to free up space, as the club are reportedly hopeful of bringing in two domestic loans ahead of the deadline.

The 30-year-old will be available to make his debut at Chelsea on Saturday, which kicks off at 17:30 pm GMT and will be live across multiple Sky Sports channels.

"I know about the fans and how much passion they have."
After signing, Traoré commented on what it means to join the club.

"I'm so happy to be here, so happy to help the team the maximum I can and show my quality," said Traoré.

"I've been seeing West Ham for a long time. It's a massive club, a massive fanbase. I've been watching since I was young, when I watched a film about West Ham. I know about the fans and how much passion they have.

Nuno also spoke on the transfer and noted how he is looking forward to working with Adama again.

"We are very happy to welcome Adama to the Club," said Nuno.

"He is someone I obviously know well from our time together at Wolves, and I am looking forward to working with him again.

"Adama is someone who knows the Premier League very well, and his unique qualities as a player will help us between now and the end of the season.

"He will give us a different option in attacking areas. He is also very motivated to fight for us and ready to bring energy, commitment and determination to our challenge."

Harry Wilson happy at Fulham amid Everton, Leeds United links
Harry Wilson is not pushing for a move away and remains happy at Fulham despite ongoing interest from Everton and Leeds United.

According to TEAMtalk, Harry Wilson is not pushing to leave Fulham in the current transfer window, as he could wait to find a solution to his future. The in-form 28-year-old Fulham wide man is the subject of interest from Everton and Leeds United, who are ready to pounce if a door of opportunity opens up.

Fulham are doing all they can to show ambition and convince manager Marco Silva to stay at the club beyond his current deal. The Portuguese tactician's agreement expires in the summer, which has led to speculation, with the Cottagers doing all they can to retain him.

The Cottagers are heavily linked with Oscar Bobb in the final days of the January window, while they are also trying to sign PSV Eindhoven's Ricardo Pepi. These potential arrivals are a way to convince Silva to stay, as they also have another concern in the form of Harry Wilson's future.

Fulham face a race against time to convince Wilson to sign a new deal, with suggestions that the club may have already offered him a new contract. The 28-year-old Welsh international is seemingly waiting on news on Silva's impending future, although he is not pushing to leave the club.

Like Silva, Wilson's deal expires in the summer, and at the moment, he is the team's best player this season. His impressive form had attracted clubs like Everton and Leeds United towards making a move this month, while recently Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have joined the race.

Harry Wilson to stay at Fulham?
Fulham are eager to keep hold of Wilson for the long term, and are doing everything they can to convince the winger to sign on fresh terms. However, this window also represents their final chance to cash in if the 28-year-old winger shows no indication whatsoever about renewing his deal.

But, Wilson is not pushing to move away and remains happy at Fulham at the moment, although that is by no means an indication of a future decision. The Welshman will likely think about his future in the coming months before either committing to a new deal or leaving on a Bosman move in the summer.

Raheem Sterling to Fulham OFF as medical IMMINENT for £30m Norwegian star
Fulham are stepping away from their pursuit of Raheem Sterling after agreeing a deal with Manchester City for Oscar Bobb, sources have told TEAMtalk.

On January 6, 2026, we reported talks between Sterling's representatives and Fulham over a move this month. The former Manchester City winger was still on the books of Chelsea at the time and has also been attracting interest from West Ham United.

Sterling is no longer a Chelsea player, with the player and the club deciding to mutually terminate the contract, meaning that the former Arsenal loanee is now a free agent.

However, that does not mean that Sterling will end up at Fulham, who are now set to complete a deal for Oscar Bobb instead.

Sources have told us that Fulham are closing in on one of the standout deals of the summer, with Bobb agreeing personal terms ahead of a near £30million (€34.7m, $41.3m) move from Manchester City.

Sources indicate that Man City have accepted Fulham's offer, which includes a 20% sell‑on clause as well as a matching option that allows the Cityzens to retain a measure of long-term control over the Norway international winger's future.

Bobb is now preparing to undergo his medical imminently in West London, with all sides expecting the transfer to be completed without delay.

The winger had attracted interest from abroad, most notably from Borussia Dortmund, but we are told that Bobb's preference was to remain in the Premier League.

That stance placed Fulham in a strong position once talks began, and the club moved quickly to secure an agreement.

Fulham view Bobb as a crucial addition as they brace for the likely departure of Harry Wilson, whose contract is set to expire this summer.

Securing a creative wide player was a priority for Fulham manager Marco Silva, and Bobb fits the profile the club had been targeting.

The 22-year-old's imminent arrival also cools any prospect of a move for Sterling, with Fulham now expected to step away from that pursuit.

In addition, Bobb's signing has allowed the Cottagers to sanction Adama Traore's switch to West Ham United.

Fulham believe Bobb can become a central figure in their next phase of development, and this deal marks a significant statement of intent as they reshape their attack for the season ahead.

What now for Raheem Sterling?
As Fulham close the door to Sterling, it will be interesting to see where the former Man City winger ends up.

My colleague, Dean Jones, has reported that although Sterling would prefer to stay in London, the 31-year-old is willing to relocate.

Jones told TEAMtalk: "Raheem Sterling is definitely getting offers to consider from outside of English football and some of them are high profile.

"It is very important to him that wherever he moves feels safe and that his family are able to settle and thrive so that will be a major consideration.

"Obviously, staying in London has always been the preference, but if a decent-length contract is available in a country with a way of life that feels accommodating, then he would consider it.

"The main briefing out of sources close to the player is that he is open to everything at this stage, so that he can make a very informed decision.

"Napoli are one of the clubs being linked already, but we will have to wait and see whether that is suitable."

Latest Fulham transfer news: Harry Wilson future stance, South Korean star wanted
Meanwhile, Dean Jones has reported Harry Wilson's stance on his future, amid interest from Leeds United and Everton.

Sources have told us that Fulham are pushing hard to sign a South Korean star who has been offered to Leeds United.

And finally, we understand that Fulham have ramped up their interest in an American star.

Fulham agree deal to sign Oscar Bobb
Fulham have been linked with a move for the Manchester City attacker, Oscar Bobb.

It seems that they have now agreed on a deal with Manchester City to sign the 22-year-old attacker. According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have agreed on a £27 million deal for the Norwegian.

Bobb will be desperate to get his career back on track with regular opportunities, and the move to the London club could prove to be ideal for him. He was unlikely to get opportunities at Manchester City, and sitting on the bench at the Premier League club would not have made much sense for him. He will look to prove his quality at Fulham now and establish himself as an important player for the London club.

Fulham needed someone like Oscar Bobb
Fulham have done quite well in the Premier League this season, and they will look to improve further during the second half of the campaign. They needed more technical ability and creativity in the final third. The 22-year-old Manchester City attacker could prove to be a useful acquisition for them. He can operate on both flanks, and he will add flair and creativity to the team.

Meanwhile, the attacker is still only 22, and he could improve with coaching and experience. He has all the attributes to develop into a top-class player for the London club. Regular football at Fulham could bring out the best in the Norwegian.

The £27 million deal could look like a bargain for the London club in future. It will be interesting to see whether he can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. He is well settled in English football, and he should be able to make his mark at the London club.

Manchester City have already signed Antoine Semenyo, and the Norwegian had fallen further down the pecking order at the club. He needed to leave the club this month.

It will be interesting to see if Fulham can bring out the best in him and help him adapt quickly.
