Would provide a more rock solid foundation for us and perhaps be at a cheaper price given older.

Clearly a winger and cb are on the shopping list too. I'm excited about high quality young players, as I'm sure many are, but we need to balance this with wiser heads to help those younger players navigate the ebbs and flows of match-day football in the PL and cups.

What I am enjoying is the core quality levels of the youth we're building now

Sess, King, LDF, Kevin, Palacios, Garcia, Bobb and JKA, with arguably JKA and Palacios being the weakest.

So two more defenders, one more striker for depth, another starting winger, a GK and a LB and RB and we're almost there. It means those players can challenge each other, grow and develop together and build something meaningful.

A lot of truth in what you say there General, although i think you´re being a bit optimistic with the transfer budget in the positions you think need upgrading.  Nevertheless, what a statement we´ve made in the market with these moves and what a way to get the fans´ juices going for the first game of the season against our biggest rivals!!

I'm really pleased with both signings! We've been in dire need of a new forward for the past few years. I'm not too familiar with Palacios' style of play, but Arbeloa is well-acquainted with both players.

Add a nwaneri to that at (19) and that's an attack with plenty of youth and energy.

Regarding people saying about maybe needing to bring in more experienced signings, I don't think we really need to because we're starting with a core of already established experience.

I wasn't suggesting an overhaul on the whole squad, just up front - perhaps competition on the wings for Kevin and Bobb and to replace Wilson, and in CM.. I'd like more of a goalscoring midfielder with pedigree who knows the league and has a bit of maturity.

Then we also need to replace Diop, which seems to be happening with Nwaiwu, even though we've got LDF - he's more of a LCB, instead of RCB if memory serves me correctly

I'd be well up for this. An absolutely top class player and professional, we badly missed him when he left IMO.

According to Sky Palacios is 18  !!!!!!    He was born in 2004, that's very sloppy of them.

Fulham have agreed a double deal with Real Madrid to sign Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios.

Sky Sports News understands Fulham have committed to paying a combined fee of £42.3m (€50m) for the duo, who have both come through Real Madrid's academy.

Garcia, a 22-year-old striker, who was top scorer at the Club World Cup last summer, is set to move for around £34m.

Meanwhile, Palacios, an 18-year-old midfielder who made his senior debut for Real Madrid in January, is costing Fulham around £8.5m.

Yes, haha. Weve all been waiting for a breakthrough so are running with it.

I gather from those supposedly ITK who broke much of the details of these deals before they hit public, that they are done, signed and sealed-  subject to medical (only concern there is Palacios but his ACL injury was 2024 and he's played plenty since). When they get here or out to Portugal and have their photos taken etc and are therefore announced publically by the club is another matter of course.
