Quote from: Thailand Mick on March 18, 2026, 12:51:42 AMRegarding pepi 36m euro is 22.5m pounds at today's exchange rate of 1.6 before the exchange rate was 1.3 so the fee was 27.7m pounds. A possible saving of 5m+ if they pay most of it upfront.

Might need to check those exchange rates Mick.  1.13 to 1.16 perhaps.  Still the THB at 43 is saving me a few shillings in Hua Hin golf courses at the moment.
oh dear I **** that up lol it's about £800,000 difference.

Rutzler claiming £28.5m
Brilliant if true, wonder if he means pre or after addons though

Now...if we could only find an upgrade for Berge.

Excited to see what Pepi can do, but he does look like he needs to bulk up a bit. Especially if he's going to be playing solo up top..

Or maybe we're going to switch to a formation that plays two up top? Make 4-4-2 Great Again!

We're almost their, just a backup striker and attacking no 10 who passes and scores as someone said a improvement on berge especially someone who can head the ball, funnily enough John lacy wasn't good in the air,a captain leader of men in defence back up right back and a goal keeper who comes off his line and covers his area.We might just might finish higher in the league.

Midfield needs of a serious upgrade. Leno doesn't give me the most confidence, but midfield is 100% a priority. Leno can wait another season I think.

Leno is only as good as the pressure put on him by his N⁰2.
If Lecomte isn't up to it, bring in someone who is and Leno might up his game.
Though if reports of £100k+ pwk are true, then I think Leno is being overpaid.

For instance, if it's a choice between splurging £28m on Chuck's buy-out option or increasing Wilson's wages to reflect his performances and impact this season, then it's Harry all day for me.

That's if Wilson wants to stay of course...

I'd like to see a good keeper incoming this summer. I actually quite like Lecomte but Leno has cost us more points than he's won us this season. I'd prioritise that way ahead of any talk of Berge replacement.

If we soon announce the signing of Pepi is it fair to assume that if a new contract for Marco is not announced shortly afterwards we can assume he is not committed / staying ?
That will be Bobb and Pepi within months at a large outlay. Surely sufficient support from the owners to signal intent to progress.
Perhaps the only other consideration would be Silva"s desire to participate in Europe but to be honest the conference strain is not worth participating in so surely that can't be the trigger to stay.
Personally, if we don't hear from the club that Marco has signed a new deal within 2 weeks of Pepi signing I will assume that he is leaving.
I want MS to stay, as I believe he has the support and respect of the players. Something that few other dressing rooms seem to have.
