We are carrying too many average players though and are yet to buy a decent CB and CM
If only we had another three weeks of the transfer window left, eh?

Season starts in a week......

2 weeks

Yes, 2 weeks, crazy to think we haven't got a squad yet

It appears that Southampton have turned down Fulham's £30 million pound bid for Charles which is disappointing as he is a beast and exactly what we need in our midfield along with Berge who is a must starter.

Where is this story from?

""""Southampton midfielder Shea Charles is assessing his future after FULHAM had an offer worth £30m for him rejected.
Fulham midfielder Sasha Lukic has completed his Ipswich medical ahead of a £9m move.
He is expected to sign to a four - year deal.

got a picture. I asked Google and it said there is no article saying that in Mail today.

I think Robinson may be off. Both Liverpool and United are circling . If we got decent money for him it might be good business. I believe he has fallen off a bit since his injury and his defending and crossing have become poor. I may be in for some stick for saying that, but honestly watching him in the World Cup he didn't look good at all

Shea Charles is an unused sub so far for Saints today.

75 mins played and four other subs have been brought on.

Edit: 5th sub brought on after 86 mins and it still wasn't Charles

AR hasn't been good with the ball for sometime. Though since injury he looks worse. A bit like Muniz, we missed the boat on the big bucks, m8ght get £15_20m tops.

I would rather a better solid LB and leave Sess/Kevin to run the left further up versus AR bombing down the pitch only to swing a cross into row Z

Disagree that he didn't look good, and I watched every game.    Difference in their last game was that Belgium pressed unlike the other teams the USA played.  Pressing made Tim Ream's deficiencies show up.   USA played with 3 CB and didn't use Jedi like Marco used Jedi.

Not sure why you think the LB spot, which is arguably the strongest on the team between Sess and Jedi, give Fulham the freedom to let either of them go.   There are going to be injuries during a season, and fortunately for Fulham they have two experienced LB that are above average for what they do.

There are several other positions on this side that need to be fixed before the LB spot.  Lost our (arguably) best CB at dealing with the ball in the air.  Still have an unproven #9...backed up by an average at best #9... Spent tons of money on our wide attacking spots and neither of them has proven to be consistent at the top level...

Hopefully our new manager will use him better.

Shea Charles was an unused sub today, which indicates to me he is leaving. Not sure the Daily Mail is an up to date decent source. The latest info appears to be things are moving in the right direction there.

Mind you, this is Fulham so who knows.

Asked AI 🤖 and was told Charles is coming but Pitarch staying put, as 'his intention was always to prove himself in Spain'.

That would tally with Peter Rutzler's comments about an either/or situation for the midfield.

Make of that what you will.

But the 24th isn't the deadline, is it.
Players need time to adapt, especially those coming from abroad.
Signing players this late in the window costs us points, it's as simple as that.
And yes it's inevitable to some extent but we need 6-7 signings this window and so far have only done 2.

It's been en proved that points wise, teams who do their business earlier don't tend to profit from it. We've done decent business so far, there's 3.5 weeks to go until window closes, why the impatience?

And anyone that reads and believes the Daily Mail, well I just shake my head.

Give your head a Wobble and get back to supporting Hounslow

Completely uncalled for.  Mick has never said anything to suggest he isn't a passionate FFC supporter.

So you haven't read all his posts then🤔

I always read Mick's posts. Yes he's an incorrigible grump with a downer on our owners and yes, he does compare us unfavourably with the Brentfords and Brightons of this world and yes, his writing style is difficult. However he has the best insights and knowledge of our youngsters that I have read on here bar none and from time to time I think he makes a reasonable criticism. I have to filter out the rubbish but he's Fulham through and through.
