Is £20m or €20m our opening gambit for every player we try to sign?

I'd certainly prefer that, for a number of reasons. But I think the combination of his age, injury history and contract length would make it difficult to do so. Not to mention Timmy also isn't young (same age as Kenny) and is entering the last year of his contract. I'm skeptical that we'd want to extend him and the way Fulham is doing business now I doubt we'd like to see him leave on a free next summer (especially when we could get the same kind of money (and tbf probably a bit more) than we did for Diop and Lukic).

Quote from: hopper on August 16, 2026, 12:43:24 PMReally curious who will be sold if we sign another RB.

Like others I love Tete, but his injury track record really counts against him. If you look at his career stats, he's typically available for 22 games or less per season. Only time in his career he's played more was in 22/23 when he played 31, the season after promotion.

FFN passing on that from what he hears there is more interest around Tete currently, so perhaps we are inviting that, who knows

Seems most logical with how were looking to play though

Quote from: MickTheBeard on August 16, 2026, 02:44:35 AMI thought the work out for a friendly was good goalkeeper, fullbacks, berge,Bassey two Spaniards were good, only downside king and bobb dont look like scoring is a big problem.Suprise nockwi ex chelsea youth player can't spell played for forest green who said he was good for them perhaps more kids can perform but scoring is a must,Southampton boy too early to access where was the. Young Swedish boy don't buy off the computer shame you wasn't there to access the performance. By the way we don't want to watch makebeive wrestling,we want to watch our team dont fall into the trump trap we don't want four quarter games or make believe sport we live in the real world fulham or nothing.

Definite yes from me.. given the expenditure in other key areas he'll be a good backup to Bobb. Can play on both wings.

Lille must've heard we're in the market for a RB and said "we'll take Tete"

And through the middle. Ideal target for me, definately has been off form but showed so much raw talent coming through at arsenal ya gotta take that risk in him if he's available imo.

Question is what sort of deal might we be able to get. I suspect we could only afford a loan with option (that you can just imagine arsenal will, till now, have been wanting an obligation in such a case) ...think question will be if a club from Europe is willing to pull trigger in an up front perm move.

Hope it comes off as that's a frontline with insane potential everywhere

Castagne has an option year for 2028. I can't imagine a scenario where the club would choose him over Tete then let him go next summer for free without using the extension.

Hope we bring someone in before letting him go, hate being exposed at CB because we let Diop leave without a replacement lined up. Similarly Wilson, and arguably Lukic too.

Or is it just an agent trying to move his client starting a rumour?

Quote from: General on August 16, 2026, 08:44:31 AMSpeaking of needing players in...Man utd 'collapse' against AC Milan.. and who scored one and assisted 2 of Milans 4 goals, none other than Chukwueze. Feel he was largely underutilised by Silva.

Interesting.  I always liked Chukwueze.  Started with FFC favorably, but then ran into some difficulty.  Young kid, had his Mom pass while here, likely had affected his play.  I felt there was a real good player in him, and had hoped FFC would have found way to retain him.  Anyway, we move on, spilt milk and all.....

I think Iwobi would be near top of he's list

Quote from: @jolslover on August 16, 2026, 09:49:41 AMI wonder if we are now looking to offload Tete rather than Castagne. Seems Castagne is Arbeloas preference of the two and to be fair to him Castagne has looked good in the last two pre-season games and towards the tail end of last season.

Bellanova would be a good signing and offers a lot more in the final 3rd going forward than our two current RBs. Think this will be vital in Arbeloas system and is why we are looking for a new RB
