It's discussing will Muniz be happy being second choice .

It seems a bit late in the day to be thinking about that but also " discussing to make the squad stronger and more balanced " also seems a bit late in the day . Surely all discussions should be done ?

Matt Dibley-Dias gone to Newport County on loan. Similarly to Harris this feels like a "shop window" loan in hope of getting some pure profit, the lad's almost 23 and has done nothing in his two loans spells so far.

He looks thrilled about it: https://x.com/NewportCounty/status/2092635682510660030?s=20

Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Of course not, AA is probably still evaluating the squad, trying to to see what works and what needs changing. Discussions should always be ongoing.
Story of my life

Sadly she wasn't

Whilst I agree with you that evaluating the squad should more or less be ongoing, not every change needs to be forced to happen this window necessarily.

Selling Muniz would mean finding suitors willing to give us a decent offer, Muniz wanting the move and in top of that the club identifying and buying an available and suitable replacement (which in itself is difficult because what profile are we going for? Young/old? Loan/buy? Expensive/cheap? What kind of quality can we get if the option is that player is basically Gonzalos backup)
You wouldnt want to add all that workload to our already ongoing recruitment of other players (unless several of the pieces are already lined up, ie such as interested suitors)

Watkins to Saudi apparently. Didn't see this coming, not as we could compete with their money but always rated him

Bracken White

Only a few days to go - doubtless much haggling being undertaken in the background ... need that RW too! Hope something 'under the radar' is in course.
Stay Fulhamish ~ stay unique

"Fresh contacts" for Raphael Le Guen...a 19 years old who's played less than 500 career senior minutes.

I don't think you'll find many 19 year olds who's played more than 500 senior minutes. Only wonderkids like Josh King can make the step up at that age.

JimmyConway

Priority signings I would imagine are right sided centre half and right winger though I personally think Iwobi can do a job there but perhaps the new system might make him less effective.
If we were to sign a right back? Then who leaves Castagne only a year left on contract but probably better suited to new system or Tete with his injury record and probably not suited to new style?
Seems to be a few decent goalies available and now could be a good time to look towards the future and keep Leno on his toes?

Ait Boudlal, who is 5 months older, has ~2200 under his belt.

Sense that Arbeloa is happy with Andersen and wants to bring in a top young talent who can replace him eventually and cope with the PL, as well as get game time in cups, or when Andersen is out. Then, should he/they prove themselves then they can step up and into the position.

Is getting first team minutes, so imagine he'd want the same if not more if he moved.

Makes it look easy at times, definitely something about him. Apparently also speedy and 6ft 6

I mean you're proving my point here. Boudlal is kind of a wonderkid.

Quote from: Thailand Mick on August 26, 2026, 03:04:17 PMApparently we watched Ait Boudlal again on Monday, I can see us biting the bullet and paying what Rennes want. Every transfer seems to have a starting position of 30m and now all these clubs know we need a RCB and we are not the only ones looking.

Hold on a second. We wait till the end of the window for value. Not to just pay and get the player late needing time to adjust.....

Yeah I think it's arguable in many cases if we actually get a better price. Only in some instances. I think the club likes to save a few extra weeks salary.

I guess some players at big clubs become available later on.

Ok, but I keep reading from many that JA simply cannot play in AA's system and we desperately need a RCB who is ready (or at least close to being ready) to start for us.
