Adarybioyo cost Spurs £12m.

They've been ripped off.

Shame we did not get a goal scoring RW, but then again which team doesn't.
Also we did not lose important players late on with no time to replace, as suffered by Everton who now only have one recognised centre forward.
I was surprised no one went in for Robinson, Berge or Castagne.
At least the central core of the squad is still here and rejuvenated by younger players.
Larsen is going to be an interesting one, very highly rated until towards the end of last season when reportedly his form dropped off. Injuries catching up on him?
A side note - Chelsea reportedly got £10 million for Tosin so £10 million profit for them!

Agreed and Chelsea fans really didn't rate him, understandably. He has managed to stay in London though, but I doubt he'll be a starter for them. Given Chelsea happily pay £50m these days for a squad player, I think it's a testament to how much he was rated that he went for a comparably small sum.

He had some highlights at Chelsea, but largely was a squad player. I suppose he's still a professional footballer at the top level, but someone has to get those mistakes out of his game.

It's been said by a few reputable journos that Chelsea were trying to get Berge at the last minute.
Who knows if that's true or not.

AA has to make his style suit Kevin then.

We already seem to have accepted Tete, Andersen and Berge won't work with his tactics. We can't be writing off any more £20m players.

Hodgson worked wonders with a bunch of players largely chosen by Sanchez. AA has to get the most out of the likes of Kevin, and ESR too.
Strange comment and yet got 8 likes. Andersen and Berge didn't play well last year for Silva and neither did Kevin, ESR or Bobb. Perhaps Silva wasted a lot of money on players nowhere near worth their transfer fees.

I mean, following this logic, we write off five relatively recent signings that cost a combined ~£150m, attribute their failure to the last manager making bad decisions, and now let the new manager who's relatively unproven and has only been here a few months, decide how to spend a similar amount replacing them. That would be utterly absurd.

I'm not necessarily saying AA should be expected to work wonders with all of them, but taking Andersen as an example, he offers AA something similar to what Hodgson had with Hughes or Silva had with Ream.
I didn't say write them off. I was disputing a comment that AA can't work with these players unless he adapts to their ways. That was a strange comment when they mostly disappointed last year. Their chances of success are no worse and probably better than under Silva as he didn't get a tune out of them. However, it's those players who have got it all to prove. If they are crap under both Silva and AA then get rid of them. They must play as AA wants them to play.
You can't ask a slow player to be fast.
You can only run as fast as you can run, or jump as high as you can jump.
Arsenals Gabriel and Saliba are supposedly the best center half pairing in the country, yet I have seen them outpaced loads of times, it doesn't make them bad players.

From what I can tell Chelsea fans are very happy to be shot of him. He deserves it after acting completely unprofessionally in the wake of his exit from us (and for going to the scum in the first place) and frankly I hope he flops for Tottenham as well.

Adarybioyo is certainly a downgrade on Danso, and it's cost them £12m quid to do so.

That said, it's quite amusing that Chelsea and Everton got gazumped at the last minute with Camara being blocked and Balogun bailing out at the last minute.

Some fans were suggesting Balogun stepped away from Everton because he thought he was being used to undermine Chelsea (and he's a Chelsea fan?). Would be funny if so and very petty of everyone involved.

I wonder why he decided to not go ahead with the move.

Lol - well you can.. but doesn't mean it'll happen overnight.

I think if you wanted to improve the speed of a player, with conditioning and training you could do it..

According to google with that you could get upto a 5% improvement in speed over a 100 metre dash, which is being 5 metres faster than whatever pace you were at originally.

If Andersen did that training to improve his sprinting, then he'd be in a completely different place and probably meeting most fans expectations.

Anyone of those signings could have come earlier, they are no "bargains" and there was no competition for their signatures.

Tony either doesn't understand or care about this club, he blurbs the same shite about monitoring them for many years and out PR make them read the same dross about "oldest club in London".

It's frightening that every season that passes we are in this same situation while they cretin still runs about like a rich kid causing havoc trying to act like a DOF

On the other hand some want the club to find cheaper gold in other leagues. Who will be exiting and a huge profit after a couple of years.
I think merging the two is only possible if you have a large squad like our neighbours and then it doesn't always work out.
The Chairman has always wanted and spoken about sustainability. I think the second option is the only one that will deliver that but it comes with a huge downside, possible relegation and management change. Im sure he's taken the risk of this into consideration.

As someone who has been a sprinter at national finals level, I would just like to say that the reality of being able to increase your pace by 5% when you're pushing 30 is impossible. When you're a teenager/early-mid 20's there would be marginal gains from explosive strength training (we're talking maybe a few tenths of a second over what a pro would run a 100m race in). but we're talking very small since pace comes from a higher number of Fast Twitch fibres (type 2B), something you can't physically get more of and also something which too much strength training will see your body convert to type 2B into type 2A which reduces your speed. You can see that in practice from Adama's pace dropping off a cliff becuase he went for size over explosive strength.

Long story short; Andersen never had the muscle fibres for being quick, and he'll only ever get slower. Affi will run rings around him for mobility

I'd follow and watch Fulham in any league and think a fair percentage on here like me have done and will continue to.
I'm open to abit of a risk this season.

Common thinking is Everton tried to reduce the wage offer after the medical issues came up. Like less years or making it more incentive based and he walked from that.

Imo Devon's post overall is too negative but he's absolutely right about the "oldest club in London" thing :slap:
Every player parrots it in his first interview. We have more selling points than that, surely? Location, aesthetics, and in my opinion highly underrated home support in the Hammy End.

Sidenote the club seriously does need to improve acoustics to let the HE be heard. Only once you've sat there do you realize how truly muzzled it is, not only on TV but also to the rest of the park. Can't they hire a team of sound scientists or something?

At the end of the day there's only really two things most players care about:

Money
Premier League football

So anything else they come out with is likely very much second order to those other considerations.

AS report suggests the opposite is true of Devon's assertions regarding "no "bargains" and there was no competition for their signatures."

Affengruber had a €50m release clause earlier in the window and there was interest from other PL clubs as well as Italy.
