You can say the signings of teti mainly through injury since his pay rise has been disappointing with backup from Belgian not an improvement does not help us to promote young homegrown talent from within as  of the constant relaps of repeated injuries to teti being out for too long and then their is Anderson surely a younger and quicker version would have been better and yes the Nigerian winger not young enough and on high wages we do seem to have a very poor transfer setup this on our turnover is not good enough.

Jim©

Why would you get George when you say he hasn't done much?
Chuk, prior to his fathers death was just about top for goals and assists per minute played. It cant all be about cost and age, performance is a larger factor.

MickTheBeard

It has to be a return on our investment due to our turnover we are not in a position to waste money we haven't The resources.

I dont know what the wages would be but if possible we should be looking at Trafford

I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

I feel Mick has somewhat of a point here,

But we mustn't also rule that wholly as a bad thing, we are one of the least in debt teams in the league and we are quite constantly robust.

We also have got to where we are by looking for bargains and by finding an extra year or two out of older players.

We actually have quite a history of this with Roy too.

But it does make things quite difficult because if we NEED a position, its becomes reliant on luck that such an older player exsists that we can work another year out of.

Would it also be good if we could do what teams like Brighton seem to do quite often and find a 10 to 20 mil gem that we can offload 1 or 2 years later for 60 to 100 mill. Obviously that would be good to do, but it also isn't easy. And do we offload cheaper than we should sometimes? Maybe? Mitrocould of hit 60 mill, but maybe people could see he was already starting to recline? It's all speculation.

Somerset Fulham

I would 100% sign Chuck.

I understand people's reservations and they are valid, but on form he is also a complete gamechanger and will get crowds on feet. And when he is on form, that form is outstanding.

Not as an alternative to Chuk, don't get me wrong. If we don't sign Chuk I'd want a higher profile alternative. But I still think George has potential under the right coaching so wouldn't mind him in the squad.

"[Sami Mokbel, in the article) Among the players the club are expected to listen to offers for are Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, both of whom signed long-term contracts last summer. Arsenal sources indicate they would look to recoup a minimum combined £100million for Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly"

Surprising news, they both looked very good in the first team last year but seem to be getting moved on really quickly. I rate both players, particularly Nwaneri.

Lewis-Skelly has gone backwards, whatever he had seems to have departed.

Story of my life

Said at start of season Nwaneri strikes me as someone who might be available next summer depending on how his loan goes. It's been ok but not great out there for him. Tons of raw talent but not really consistant at this stage, could go one of two ways...if Wilson departs he'd be an exciting option. Likely cost a fair whack though.

100m for the pair is utter nonsense though. Completely laughable. Ethan's done less for them than ESR did granted without big injuries , Likewise Lewis skelley not been on form either after initial breakthrough so that figure is ridiculous

I'm really surprised at how it's gone for them. Didn't think either would be available at all. It kinda shows how and why Arsenal are such notoriously bad sellers, they've managed to deprecate these two players through loaning them out and not really playing. Last year they were both playing around the first team and looked like emerging stars.

Agree on Nwaneri should Wilson goes, he is a really true striker of the ball - much like Wilson, and can bend shots from outside the box with pinpoint accuracy.

Anyone remember Reiss Nelson who has played 6 games this season for Brentford?

Nelson seems to have disappeared completely

In his defence, he's played 7 PL games this season. A huge 55 minutes in total...

Arsenal will be lucky to get £8-10m for him this summer and I wouldn't pay anything for him now. On a free I think he'd still be worth a shot, but he's not worth any of our tight transfer budget.

Whilst our transfer budget is obviously limited, it's our total wage structure that is the particular limitation. We need to get our wage bill down as the highest priority.

Scored a banger tonight JKA otherwise was pretty poor first half seems to drift around a fair bit...then suddenly creates some magic and buries it.

Would persevere with that project personally
