AC Milan confident Fulham will exercise option to buy Super Eagles winger Chukwueze
AC Milan are confident that Fulham will exercise their option to buy Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze following his encouraging loan spell in the Premier League, a move that could significantly boost the Italian club's finances, according to Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri are set to receive exactly double the sum from Chukwueze's definitive sale compared to other anticipated outgoing deals, with the potential transfer valued at €24 million.

The expectation in Milan is that Fulham's willingness to activate the clause will be strengthened if the winger continues his strong performances during the second half of the season.

Despite a campaign disrupted by physical issues, Chukwueze has delivered a productive return in England.

The 26-year-old has registered three goals and four assists in all competitions. His season was affected by a prolonged absence due to the Africa Cup of Nations, where he finished third with Nigeria, a commitment that forced him to miss six Premier League matches for Fulham.

Since returning from international duty, Chukwueze has been reintegrated into the Fulham side and has featured three more times.

He was named in the starting lineup for high-profile league fixtures against Manchester United and Everton.

His recent run of starts has seen him establish himself as a regular option, reinforcing the belief that he is now a key figure in Fulham's attacking setup.

Fulham currently sit tenth in the Premier League table, and the club's league position reflects a stable campaign in which Chukwueze has played an increasingly prominent role.

His pace, directness and end product have added another dimension to Fulham's attack, qualities that AC Milan believe will encourage the London club to commit to a permanent deal.

Sources: Nottingham Forest turn attention to Marco Silva approach after Fulham news
Nottingham Forest will "seriously consider" making an approach for Fulham manager Marco Silva in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds' owner Evangelos Marinakis is a firm admirer of Silva after previously working with him at Olympiacos, and the Portuguese is set to see his contract at Fulham expire at the end of the season.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in January that Silva is likely to leave Fulham for a new challenge at the end of his contract, and sources say that Forest are growing increasingly confident that a move for him could be successful as the time on his deal ticks down.

The Forest board remain in support of Sean Dyche at the moment, but with the 54-year-old's short-term deal only having one year left to run in the summer, Silva could come into the picture.

Marco Silva's record compared to Sean Dyche
Silca has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs on several occasions thanks to his work at Craven Cottage, as his team continue to catch the eye for his performance.

The West Londoners are currently on course to finish tenth in the Premier League, as they continue their run of failing to be threatened by relegation after Silva got them promoted from the Championship at the first attempt in 2021-22.

The 48-year-old now boasts a wealth of experience in the English top flight, having previously enjoyed spells with Everton, Hull City and Watford.

Silva has regularly helped unfancied clubs to punch above their weight in the top tier, while also leading Everton to an eighth-placed finish in his only full campaign in charge.

His exploits across those four jobs have seen him amass over 230 games of experience in Premier League dugouts, and he has a respectable win percentage of almost 36 per cent during that time.

By contrast, Dyche, whose remits have tended to be firefighting jobs across work with Everton and Burnley, sees his win percentage down at 28 per cent at present.

Nottingham Forest at fault for Arne Engels collapse
Football Insider revealed last week that Nottingham Forest were to blame for their move for Arne Engels collapsing in the final stages of transfer deadline day.

The East Midlands outfit were desperately trying to add another central midfielder to their group as the hours ticked down, and saw three bids for Engels rejected by Celtic amid their last-minute efforts.

They ultimately emerged from their pursuit unsuccessful on this occasion, despite tabling a lucrative offer of £25million for the Bhoys.

The Glasgow giants were unrelenting in their stance regarding the Belgian, although there has been an indication that they would have had a hard time rejecting Forest's final offer had it come earlier in the window.

Celtic lacked the necessary time to secure a replacement for the 22-year-old, and as a result, Forest only have themselves to blame for not moving earlier in the window.

From the Press Box: Lukic and TC to miss City clash
JK is back on the Fulham beat to take us through Silva's pre-City press conference.

Saturday was a tough one to take. A real punch to the stomach. I took the chance to step away from football entirely on Sunday - to spend time with people who could take my mind off that disastrous second half.

Monday, it was back to it. The pre-Manchester City press conference. No time to dwell on the past; we have a game on Wednesday against a side we haven't even taken a single point from since September 2011 - before they won their first Premier League title. Crikey.

But, in all fairness, in every visit to the Etihad under Silva, we've scored at least one goal. Nearly all fairly meaningful too.

Fabio Carvalho gave us the lead in 2022, in the FA Cup. Fulham went on to concede less than 90 seconds later, and lose.

Andreas Pereira scored a penalty to give us the lead in 2022/23, but we went on to lose against their 10 men.

In 2023/24, Tim Ream equalised for the Whites, but we went on to lose 5-1.

Last season, Pereira gave us the lead again; Fulham went on to lose 3-2, with Rodrigo Muniz scoring a late consolation.

Extraordinary. Then of course the small matter of scoring FOUR goals against Pep Guardiola's side earlier this season. And then to get zero points from that game.

You cannot make it up.

Anyways, away from that head-spinning rabbit hole, Marco Silva gave a host of team news ahead of our trip to Manchester.

He confirmed that both Sasa Lukic and Tom Cairney won't travel. Everyone else is ready to go, as we saw at the weekend.

Oscar Bobb could feature against the side he left less than a month ago.

Kenny Tete could start his first game since New Years Day against Crystal Palace, if Silva decides to rotate.

Calvin Bassey hasn't started for Fulham since returning from AFCON. Silva may be tempted to switch to a five at the back, which could mean Bassey starts, or even Issa Diop, who is also an option.

Rodrigo Muniz hasn't started a game since Brentford at home in September! And as I've already mentioned, he was the last Fulham man to bag at the Etihad. He may get the nod ahead of Raul Jimenez, who has put in an almighty effort since Muniz has battled injury.

Silva also said that he's not concerned about Fulham's goalscoring abilities, after Saturday's first half of missed chances.

"It's not a concern because of the reality that we have been scoring. I'm pleased with the way we created (chances)," Silva said.

"It was probably the 45 minutes where we created more clear chances to score. Probably, in the future, we are going to talk about how we didn't create or we were not clinical and ruthless – but we should have scored more goals in the first half.

"What concerned me was how quickly we changed from a great first half to one of our worst halves in the second half."

It's a tough ask for any club to go to City and get something, but it does feel like Fulham are due a result against them; it's been a ludicrous run of results against the blue half of Manchester.

I wish a safe journey to all the Fulham fans making the trip, I'll see you up there!

Fulham star leaving after contract decision made – Replacement already lined up
Fulham will let Raúl Jiménez leave on June 30th after deciding not to renew the striker's contract this summer.

That's according to El Heraldo. The Mexican newspaper reports that Jiménez 'will be free in June' after the club decided to let him depart.

According to their information, Fulham's plan is to let Jiménez leave and replace him with PSV Eindhoven's Ricardo Pepi.

Heraldo report that Fulham have decided to let the 35-year-old depart this summer at the end of his contract. He initially joined the club on a two-year deal in 2023, but the club extended it last year through a clause in his contract.

The Mexican striker has continued to impress despite his advancing years, but Fulham have now decided to move on. Their intention is to let him depart on a free and replace him with Pepi.

The PSV striker has been a target since the summer transfer window. Indeed, Sport Witness have covered that interest extensively over the last six months. Fulham also targeted him throughout the January transfer window right up until deadline day.

Fulham have Pepi firmly in their sights
Fulham are so keen on the striker that they were even willing to pay €35m despite him being out with a broken arm. Marco Silva's side have now turned their attention to the summer. There is ongoing work to get it done before then.

Meanwhile, reports in Mexico have regularly linked Jiménez with a return to his homeland. Sport Witness covered a report on January 22nd that he was being eyed as a 'blockbuster signing'.

A report after that suggested Fulham's plans depended heavily on European qualification, but Heraldo now say otherwise. They report that the club have made a decision and that Jiménez will leave Fulham on June 30th.

Guardiola confirms double boost for Man City ahead of Fulham clash
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Abdukodir Khusanov is fit to play against Fulham on Wednesday in a boost for Manchester City.

The defender was forced off after taking a knee to the face in his side's comeback win over Liverpool on Sunday.

But Guardiola expects him to be involved when City host Fulham.

n another boost for City, John Stones has also been back in training and Guardiola says he will be involved again soon.

The defender was not part of the squad against Liverpool but could return on Wednesday having been out since December.

"John [Stones] is back," Guardiola said. "He's fit, I would say."

Fulham face Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, West Ham United battle for Samuel Chukwueze
Samuel Chukwueze is currently on loan at Premier League club Fulham, and he has done quite well for the West London outfit.

Samuel Chukwueze does not have a future at AC Milan, and they are prepared to sell him permanently at the end of the season. The Rossoneri have already set an asking price of €25-30 million for the Nigerian international. It appears that Fulham are prepared to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

However, the West London outfit will face competition from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and West Ham United, as per a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes. It seems his performances have impressed multiple Premier League clubs. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The €25-30 million asking price is quite reasonable for a player of Samuel Chukwueze's quality, and the Premier League clubs certainly have the financial resources to get the deal across the line.

Chukwueze has been an important player for Fulham, and they must do everything in their power to keep him at the club. The Nigerian international is already an integral part of the squad, and he could improve further with experience.

Aston Villa and West Ham keen on Chukwueze
Meanwhile, Aston Villa need more quality on the flanks, and Samuel Chukwueze could prove to be an excellent addition. He will add pace, flair and unpredictability to the team. Aston Villa are pushing for Champions League qualification, and they are likely to be an attractive destination for the player if they manage to finish in the top four. It will be interesting to see if the player decides to join them in the summer.

Finally, West Ham are keen on securing his signature as well. It is no surprise that they need more depth on the flanks. However, the Hammers are fighting for survival in the Premier League. They need to stay up in the top flight if they want to attract players of his quality. The 26-year-old winger will not want to compete in the second division of English football next season. It remains to be seen whether West Ham can secure safety first.

Matchday Preview: Man City
🆚 Manchester City
🏟 Etihad Stadium
🏆 Premier League
🗓 Wednesday 11th February
⏰ 7.30pm

The opposition

Some deemed Manchester City's title challenge to be over before it started when they registered their fourth Premier League defeat of the season in November, but they've since gone on an impressive run that saw them lose just one more time in their subsequent 13 matches. Sunday's late turnaround to win at Anfield felt particularly significant, and victory over Fulham would mean they move to within three points of Arsenal, who don't play until Thursday.

Team news

🔵 Having previously been quite depleted in defence, City are looking strong in that department again now. Abdukodir Khusanov went off injured against Liverpool but has been passed fit for Wednesday, while his replacement in that game was Ruben Dias, who was making his first appearance in over a month. John Stones is also back in contention having not featured since the reverse fixture at Craven Cottage at the start of December. Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Jeremy Doku and Savio are all out, though.

🤍 Tom Cairney is still nursing a calf injury, and so joins Saša Lukić in sitting this one out.

PREVIEW: Man City look to close title gap in home clash with Fulham
Manchester City have the chance to continue putting pressure on Arsenal and go within three points of Premier League leaders against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City have the chance to heap further pressure on Arsenal and go three points off the league leaders against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

City's 2-1 victory from a goal behind at Anfield, where they hadn't won in front of fans since 2003, has taken them from all-but-finished in the title race to sitting on the tails of Arsenal with 13 games left of the season.

The late penalty from Erling Haaland secured all three points at what's proven to be a bogey ground for Man City, and the visit of Marco Silva's Fulham offers the opportunity to close the gap with Arsenal playing a day later.

The two sides played out an extraordinary 5-4 game at Craven Cottage in December, with City 5-1 up at one stage and just about holding on for a memorable win.

Phil Foden was at the centre of the nine-goal thriller, but the Englishman has found himself on the fringes of Pep Guardiola's squad in recent weeks as Antoine Semenyo has maintained his spot in the starting lineup.

Defensive absences persist for Man City, with Abdukodir Khusanov joining the injury list after his concussion substitution against Liverpool, but Ruben Dias came off the bench at the weekend and should be able to start on Wednesday.

Wingers Jeremy Doku and Savinho also remain out, alongside centre-backs John Stones, Joško Gvardiol and central midfielder Mateo Kovačić.

Fulham travel to the Etihad on the back of a disappointing home loss to Everton, having led for the majority of the game before a seven-minute flurry and a Bernd Leno own goal.

Oscar Bobb will be a subject of attention returning to his former club, after a short cameo against the Toffees on his Fulham debut.

Bobb may struggle to come into the starting line-up, with Harry Wilson the standout performer for the Cottagers this season and Samuel Chukwueze bagging a brace in the thrilling reverse fixture.

Sasa Lukic and captain Tom Cairney are potential absentees for Silva's side, who haven't earned a point against City since a 2-2 draw in 2011.

The Cottagers are still in the hunt for a European place despite the disheartening loss to Everton, with eighth potentially enough for a UEFA Conference League place and the West London side just three points behind them.

Haaland's goal at Anfield was his first in the Premier League since late December, and with seven goals in seven games against City's next opponent you wouldn't go amiss backing him to re-find his form.

Wednesday's match at the Etihad Stadium, kicks off at 7:30PM with live coverage on TNT Sports.

Harry Wilson: 'Five Premier League clubs' join race to sign Fulham star
Harry Wilson is attracting interest from at least five Premier League clubs as he prepares to assess his options ahead of a move away from Fulham.

The 28-year-old has less than six months remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage, and despite their hopes to extend his stay, is increasingly likely to move on.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the likes of Crystal Palace, West Ham, Bournemouth, Everton and Leeds are all interested.

Those five clubs are not expected to be alone in their pursuit, given how impressive Wilson has been so far this season under Marco Silva.

The Wales international averages a goal or assist every other game, with 12 goals involvements in 24 Premier League games so far this season, inspiring growing interest.

Fulham likely to lose Harry Wilson as race kicks off
Brown told Football Insider on 7 January that Wilson is attracting high-profile interest which could see rival clubs move ahead of Leeds in the race to agree terms.

Daniel Farke's side made a move for the winger during the summer, but will now be joined by a number of Premier League rivals in the race for his signature.

"It looks like Wilson will be leaving Fulham," Brown told Football Insider.

"If you look down the Premier League table, I can name at least five clubs who would be interested in signing Harry Wilson if he was available on a free.

"You've got the likes of Palace, Bournemouth and Everton who are all of the sort of level I would expect him to remain at, and maybe teams like West Ham and Leeds too.

"There will be others looking at him as well, but I think if he is going to leave Fulham, it's not going to be a jump to a top club, he'll stay around that same area.

"He can score goals and anybody who has proven they can find the net becomes well coveted.

"I think he's having a bit of a purple season, without being disrespectful, I think he's performing above his usual level for Fulham at the moment.

"That's why I don't necessarily think the top clubs are going to take a gamble on him, if he leaves Fulham it'll be to another team in and around that level."

Marco Silva exit update emerges at Fulham
Wilson is not the only big name at Fulham who is out of contract in the summer as speculation continues to surround Silva and his position at Craven Cottage.

Football Insider revealed on 10 February that Nottingham Forest have set their sights on Silva and will seriously consider an approach if he becomes available.

This comes amid concerns about Sean Dyche's position as Forest remain stuck in a relegation battle with just three points separating them from West Ham.

Evangelos Marinakis is a firm admirer of Silva after previously working with him at Olympiacos and would love the opportunity to link up with him again.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider in January that Silva is likely to leave Fulham for a new challenge at the end of his current contract.

"Who knows" – Warning for Fulham, January failure may haunt them
Fulham may end up regretting their failure to get Ricardo Pepi in January, as a big World Cup in the summer awaits.

That's at least according to Pierre van Hooijonk. He has defended PSV Eindhoven's decision to block the move, in comments relayed by Voetbal 4 U.

Fulham have been tracking Pepi since the summer transfer window. Marco Silva's side failed to get him then but revived their efforts in January instead.

That led to a month-long battle of wills with PSV in which the deal went backwards and forwards continuously. At one stage, it appeared that PSV had relented and would accept a €35m bid from Craven Cottage.

But, their failure to identify a replacement quickly saw the deal dashed. Pepi remained at the club until the summer at least. That suits PSV, who have long wanted to see how he performs at the World Cup before sellin

Fulham transfer plan right, but competition may grow
Van Hooijdonk can certainly see it happening. He's been arguing that PSV were right to reject Fulham's advances.

"You have a striker on board who you know his capabilities," he said.

"Sure, he's been injured, but you have to go out to the market yourself and find Pepi's calibre. And you're not going to get him for €5m.

"Pepi still has room for improvement, and there's a World Cup coming up, who knows what will happen there. If he scores three for the USA..."

While that may be a worrying scenario for Fulham, Wim Kieft at least thinks they're doing the right thing in targeting the striker.

"It's a good move by Fulham, because he's simply a top scorer. He'll always score goals, wherever he goes. I think it's good that PSV kept him," he added.

Manchester City vs Fulham: Preview and Prediction
Manchester City will host Fulham at the Etihad on Wednesday, looking to build on the win over Liverpool and keep pace with Arsenal atop the Premier League.

Manchester City are looking to close the gap with Arsenal, and they cannot afford to drop points in the game vs Fulham on Wednesday. On paper, the hosts are a better team, and they should be able to get the job done. The fans at the Etihad will expect a strong performance and all three points this week.

Meanwhile, Fulham struggling, and they have lost three of its last four Premier League matches. This will be a difficult outing for them, and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back strongly. Beating Manchester City away from home is a massive challenge, and it remains to be seen how the Cottagers approach this game.

In theory, Manchester City should be able to pick up an easy win and keep their chances of winning the Premier League title alive. The Hard Tackle takes a closer look at the encounter ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides.

Team News & Tactics

Manchester City
John Stones (thigh), Mateo Kovacic (ankle), Jeremy Doku (calf), and Josko Gvardiol (calf) are ruled out for the home side. Manchester City will shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation vs Fulham, with Gianluigi Donnarumma in goal.

Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly will start as the full-backs. They will keep things tight at the back and help out in the final third. Meanwhile, Ruben Dias and Marc Guehi will form the central defensive partnership.

As for the midfield unit, Rodri will start in the defensive midfield role, looking to control the tempo and provide defensive cover, with Tijjani Reijnders adding drive and creativity alongside him.

Bernardo Silva will add creativity from the attacking midfield role. Phil Foden and Antoine Semenyo will add flair and goals from the flanks, with Erling Haaland leading the line for Manchester City vs Fulham on Wednesday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, O'Reilly; Reijnders, Rodri; Foden, Silva, Semenyo; Haaland

Kevin and Harry Wilson will start on the flanks, and they will look to add pace and flair to the side. Finally, Raul Jimenez will spearhead the Fulham attack vs Manchester City on Wednesday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno, Castagne, Andersen, Cuenca, Robinson; Berge, Reed; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Kevin; Jimenez

Key Stats

Manchester City have won their last 19 matches against Fulham in all competitions. The Citizens have scored at least two goals in their last 20 matches against Fulham in all competitions. 29 goals have been scored in the last six matches between these two teams.
Fulham have lost three of the last four matches in the Premier League.
Manchester City have picked up 44 points from a possible 51 in their last 17 home Premier League matches (W14 D2 L1) and are unbeaten in their 11 most recent outings at the Etihad (W9 D2), with only Sunderland (12) on a longer home unbeaten run.
Fulham have won three of 44 away Premier League matches against sides starting the day in the top three of the league (D9 L32), beating Manchester United in October 2003, Tottenham Hotspur in March 2013, and Chelsea in December 2024.
Antoine Semenyo has been involved in five goals in his last three Premier League appearances against Fulham (3 goals, 2 assists), having a hand in all of Bournemouth's goals in their 3-1 win against the Cottagers earlier this season (2 goals, 1 assist).

Player to Watch

Erling Haaland
The Norwegian is in impressive form right now, and he managed to get on the score sheet against Liverpool as well. Haaland will be full of confidence here, and he should be able to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has been involved in ten goals in just seven appearances against Fulham in the Premier League (7 goals, 3 assists).

Fulham have been quite poor defensively this season, and the Manchester City striker should be able to punish them with his clinical finishing and movement. Manchester City will expect a defining impact from their striker in the final third, and he could make all the difference for his side. So, it is hardly surprising that he is a captaincy candidate in FPL for Gameweek 26.

Prediction

Manchester City 3-0 Fulham
The visitors are currently lacking in form and confidence. This will be a difficult outing for them, and the gulf in class between the two teams is significant. Manchester City will have received an enormous confidence boost after the win over Liverpool, and they should be able to write out a positive result here.

A comprehensive win is on the cards for the home team. Fulham are unlikely to trouble the home team here. Manchester City will end up with all three points. The Hard Tackle predicts a 3-0 win for Pep Guardiola and his charges.

Sunderland Are Eyeing A Move For This Fulham Playmaker: Should Le Bris Get Him On Board?
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Everton's former chief Keith Wyness stated that Sunderland are eyeing a move for Fulham playmaker Harry Wilson. Wyness said, Football kits

"He's a very talented kid, but he's getting on, he's 28 now. So this is an important move for him as to where this goes.

"But I don't see him moving. I'd thought he may have done something in January, but Fulham want to hang on to him just now. With Oscar Bobb coming in, that's going to be competition as well up front. So let's just see how this pans out for the second part of the season.

"But he's another player that if he is going to be agitating for a move, expect him to hit some form as well. He's scored some very good goals before, and he has got talent, and he will fit certain teams' playing styles.

"Now, the one that came out of the blue for me when I talked to some of my contacts was Sunderland that were thinking about a possibility for Harry Wilson. I think he would fit their style of play very well and that's one I'm not discounting to show some interest in the summer as well."

Wilson's Impressive Numbers In English Football
Wilson is having a productive campaign at the London club as he has produced a string of eye-catching performances for them in the Premier League. The Welsh talent has registered nine goals and secured five assists in 28 appearances for the Cottagers this season across all fronts.

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Get Wilson On Board?
Wilson is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to create some inviting chances in the final third. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top.

The Welsh talent is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also operate as a left-winger or as an attacking midfielder if told to do so. Wilson has already begun to prove himself in the Premier League and won't take much to adjust to life at the Wearside club.

Wilson would undoubtedly bring more firepower to Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris' frontline. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Stadium of Light. Football kits

At 28, Wilson is about to enter his prime, which makes him a great choice for the Black Cats to pursue at the end of this campaign. Thus, Le Bris would be wise to get him on board soon.

Pep Guardiola lifts lid on Oscar Bobb's Manchester City exit ahead of Fulham clash
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has discussed Oscar Bobb's January departure ahead of the Fulham star's return to his boyhood club this week.

City are searching for a third successive victory in all competitions against Fulham at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, having gained confidence from wins over Newcastle United and Liverpool in the last week.

The Blues have gained renewed hope in the title race after coming from behind to beat Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, with goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland ensuring Manchester City stay right on Arsenal's heels – six points adrift of the Gunners.

Guardiola's men are vying for silverware on all fronts in the second half of the season, having entered the Carabao Cup final – where Manchester City will play Arsenal in March at Wembley – as they also go head to head with the north Londoners for the Premier League title.

City bolstered their first-team ranks with the additions of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi from Bournemouth and Crystal Palace respectively for a combined £84 million in January.

Max Alleyne was re-called from loan at Watford in the wake of injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in January, though Dias made his much-awaited return to action off the bench in Sunday's monumental triumph at Anfield.

Sverre Nypan was also recalled midway through a season-long loan at Middlesbrough but while the Norwegian teenager is eligible for the Premier League, he cannot feature in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages this term.

Executives at the Etihad Stadium also sanctioned permanent exits for Stefan Ortega Moreno and Oscar Bobb, the latter leaving Manchester City after an injury-riddled first half of the season that saw him swiftly drop down the pecking order in the wide attacking areas at the Etihad Stadium.

Bobb joined Fulham for £27 million on a five-and-a-half year deal in the final week of the January window and could face his boyhood club at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Guardiola was asked to reflect on the underlying reasons for Bobb's exit and why the Norway international could not make it at Manchester City in the end.

"Oscar (Bobb), we don't have any doubts about his potential," Guardiola said. "It depends on him, what he wants to become. If he wants to become a top class player, he will be a top class player – he has all the attributes, all!"

Manchester City cannot afford anything less than three points against Fulham as they need to put a winning run together to maintain the pressure on Arsenal, who are in pole position to win their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Fulham pushing hard to sign $41m USA striker as secret Cottagers agenda is revealed
Fulham are continuing to put in the hard yards over their ongoing pursuit of Ricardo Pepi – and sources can reveal the Premier League side have another agenda closely tied to their pursuit of the USMNT striker.

The Cottagers came within a whisker of signing Pepi on transfer deadline day, only for PSV Eindhoven to back out of a deal after they were unable to secure a replacement. However, with a deal structure in place and with Pepi himself saying yes to the move, there is optimism that the transfer can be resurrected come the summer.

That news came as a devastating blow not just for the Cottagers but for Pepi himself. We are told the player has made it clear to PSV that he wanted the move to London, and is eager to follow the path carved out by fellow Americans Clint Dempsey, Brian McBride and Tim Ream, all of whom became major fan favourites at Craven Cottage.

Despite the setback, Fulham have remained in contact with the Dutch side since the winter deadline and are exploring a potential framework for a deal that could be agreed outside the window and triggered early in the summer.

We understand the two clubs are working on a slightly reduced transfer fee of around the £30m (€34.5m, $41m) mark; down a fraction on the £32.2m (€37m, $44.3m) deal that was struck on deadline day.

Now we can reveal that Fulham have a double incentive to get the deal over the line – and it also ties in with the future of head coach Marco Silva...

Fulham hope Pepi signing convinces Marco Silva to stay
The Fulham head coach pushed for the addition of a new striker during the January transfer window, but the club were unable to reach an agreement with PSV Eindhoven at that time.

But the London side know that securing Pepi would represent a significant step towards convincing Silva that the club are backing his ambitions, as talks continue over a new contract.

The Portuguese coach, regarded as one of the best in the business, has done a stellar job since his appointment in July 2021, winning 94 of his 214 games at the helm to help establish Fulham as a progressive mid-table Premier League side.

But the club want more and aim to push on into the upper reaches of the Premier League and know that tying Silva down is vital to those ambitions.

To that end, Fulham are keen for Silva to commit to a fresh three-year deal and believe demonstrating intent around the transfer market will be key to reaching an agreement.

Behind the scenes, the club remain hopeful that Silva will soon put pen to paper, despite whispers of admiration from Nottingham Forest, who could yet try again to lure the Portuguese to the City Ground should they decide to dispense of Sean Dyche's services.

But with Forest not safe from the drop yet themselves, it would be some surprise were Silva to leave mid-season and he is committed to helping the club finish as high up as possible this season.

Man City vs. Fulham: Preview, Predictions and Lineups
The title hopefuls are aiming to build on a stunning victory at Anfield.

Manchester City and Fulham have their work cut out if they're to provide even a semblance of the chaos of their previous meeting when they lock horns again on Wednesday night.

Fulham looked on course to be heading towards a heavy Premier League defeat when City visited Craven Cottage in early December and took a 5–1 lead at the start of the second half. However, buoyed by Samuel Chukwueze's introduction, Marco Silva's side staged a dramatic revival that just stopped short of an all-time great comeback.

Their 5–4 defeat extended their losing run in this fixture to 16 games, and they're aiming to avoid a third consecutive league defeat on Wednesday night after Everton came from behind to win at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

City enter a fixture they've dominated over the past decade, having claimed a rare victory in dramatic circumstances at Anfield on Sunday. Their late turnaround has supplied more spice to a title race that threatened to drift away, and the once-perennial champions can cut Arsenal's lead to three points before the Gunners travel to surprise-package Brentford on Thursday.

Here's Sports Illustrated's preview of Wednesday's Premier League clash.

Man City Team News
Rúben Dias played his first minutes in over a month at the weekend, but his arrival was enforced after Gianluigi Donnarumma clattered into Abdukodir Khusanov, who was named Man City's Player of the Month for January.

Guardiola has confirmed that the young Uzbek defender will be available to face Fulham, but Dias's availability means the City boss has more wiggle room. Marc Guéhi could have a new partner on Wednesday night, although the pair got to know each other a little bit at Anfield.

John Stones is on the mend but not yet ready to return to action, while Joško Gvardiol is sidelined for the long haul. Further up the pitch, City will hope to have Savinho and Jérémy Doku available at some point this month.

Man City Predicted Lineup vs. Fulham

Man City predicted lineup vs. Fulham (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Khusanov, Guéhi, O'Reilly; Rodri; Cherki, Bernardo, Reijnders, Semenyo; Haaland.

Fulham Team News
Oscar Bobb is in line to face his former club almost immediately after signing for the Cottagers. The young Norwegian winger appeared off the bench at the weekend, but could be thrust into Silva's starting XI at the Etihad, given his connection.

Fulham are likely to be without Tom Cairney and Saša Lukić in midfield, but Alex Iwobi has evolved into a standout operator in a deeper position this season. He'll partner Sander Berge on Wednesday night.

Calvin Bassey, who was superb at the Africa Cup of Nations, may be recalled in defence, while electric winger Kevin could be utilised against a vulnerable City backline.

Fulham Predicted Lineup vs. Man City

Fulham have a wretched record in this fixture. | FotMob

Fulham predicted lineup vs. Man City (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Iwobi; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Kevin; Jiménez.

Man City vs. Fulham Score Prediction
Fulham have generally been impressive under Marco Silva this season, but they are prone to rather prolonged malaises. Back-to-back defeats mean another mid-table Premier League finish seems inevitable, with Saturday's loss particularly damaging for their European hopes.

While Man City have stellar records against most domestic rivals in recent years, the Cityzens have had more joy in this fixture compared to any other. Fulham have rarely turned up against the Sky Blues since their heroic victory on this ground in Apr. 2008 that helped keep them in the top flight.

Of course, this iteration of City can be got at, and Fulham, with their tidy balance in possession, should have joy against an occasionally haphazard press that can be manipulated. However, with City in the mood after Sunday's shenanigans, they're bound to pile the pressure on Arsenal at the summit.

Prediction: Man City 3–1 Fulham

Arsenal and Fulham boost as Tottenham handed another injury blow to 'lively' winger
Thomas Frank has been handed yet another Tottenham Hotspur injury to deal with ahead of facing Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Wilson Odobert lasted just 35 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday night with Thomas Frank handed yet another injury concern.

Spurs slipped to just five points above the relegation zone with their latest home defeat, coming to a Magpies side who have been woeful on the road this season. Frank continues to struggle on without 11 first team players and looks to now have a fresh concern.

Odobert, who arrived at Spurs from Burnley for £25 million in August 2024, had only been a bit-part player this term but has been handed minutes in all but two Premier League fixtures so far this season. He's one of the few first team players who had been yet to miss a match through injury this term.

Wilson Odobert picks up injury against Newcastle United
The player had gone shoulder to shoulder with Harvey Barnes and appeared to land awkwardly on his knee, requiring attention from the medical team on the pitch before hobbling off with a problem that looks worrying for Spurs.

The winger will join fellow wide man Mohammed Kudus on the treatment table in North London. Frank is also without James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski also unable to provide creativity from midfield.

Spurs being without another option comes as a potential boost to upcoming opponents. Arsenal travel to their North London rivals on Sunday, February 22 with Fulham hosting Spurs at the start of March. It remains to be seen whether Frank will be able to call on the influence of Odobert for either of those fixtures.

Odobert has been on the receiving end of praise from Frank in recent weeks for improvements made on the pitch as he continues to look to cement a role in the starting XI. Following a 27 minute cameo from the bench against Crystal Palace at the end of December, the Spurs boss said: "I think take the positive away from the Crystal Palace substitution role, where he was so lively and they couldn't catch him and should have scored at least a goal. And then last night, I think there was still some very positive glimpses.

"I think he is in the situation where he takes a little bit better decision when there's, let's say, three times the touch, because even if he's taken it, that will just get him in a top position as soon as it's turned and we're three vs three, instead of it's a bad touch and then we go the other way, for example.

"So just keep learning that. That's just a normal part of football. Unfortunately, there's a little bit of extra focus in the Premier League, but hey, that's part of it.

"Wilson, I've said it many times, is a very promising player that I believe a lot in. He looked so lively against Crystal Palace, but also natural with a young player, [that] he was a little bit up and down yesterday. I'm convinced he'll be very good for us."

Wilson Odobert on 'good relationship' with Thomas Frank
Odobert himself has spoken positively about his relationship with Frank. The Spurs boss has tasked the winger with boosting his goal and assist output.

The player said: "We have a good relationship. He trusts me and I feel that trust. It's by having that close, trustable relationship that I'm able to feel freer out on the pitch and do things I'm capable of. We work a lot with the coach, we have a lot of videos, we all try to focus on our improvement and we work as much as we can to make things change.

"I think I have to keep improving, both as a player and as a person. It's true that in football we talk a lot about statistics at the moment, so I'm trying to improve those stats but, more than anything, to help the team and be someone who contributes to this team as much as possible."

AC Milan target ₦5 billion profit from Samuel Chukwueze as Fulham move looms
Italian Serie A giants AC Milan are set to make a €3 million (₦5.3 billion) profit from the permanent sale of Samuel Chukwueze to Fulham, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal in a deal worth €21.1 million in 2023. At the time of his arrival, he was expected to make a massive impact at the San Siro, given his stellar performances in Spain.

However, things did not go as planned. The 26-year-old winger struggled to find his rhythm under various coaches at AC Milan.

Due to his failure to impress, he was informed at the start of this season that he would not play a major role in the club's plans.

As a result, he moved to Fulham on a season-long loan deal, which includes an option-to-buy clause.

Since arriving at Craven Cottage, the Super Eagles star has been simply electric. He has been a shining light in the Cottagers' front line, contributing three goals and four assists in 12 appearances.

Coach Marco Silva has been thoroughly impressed by Chukwueze's resurgence, and if his form continues, there is a strong chance Fulham will trigger the permanent move.

AC Milan Confident of Finalizing Samuel Chukwueze Sale
According to Transfer News Live, AC Milan are growing increasingly confident that Fulham will push to make Samuel Chukwueze's stay permanent at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri are keen to offload the Super Eagles winger and have no intention of bringing him back into the squad.

The agreed fee between the two clubs is reportedly around €24.1 million, a price tag Fulham considers affordable. If the deal goes through, AC Milan will secure a €3 million profit on the player.

This represents excellent business for the Rossoneri, especially considering Chukwueze's previous struggles in Italy.

Nonetheless, with the transfer window still a few months away, much could still change before a final agreement is signed.

The popular Fulham haunt for away games in Manchester has always been Duffy's Bar in Chorlton (398 Barlow Moor Rd, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 8AD), which is run by a Fulham fan Peter. The wonderfully welcoming pub has one of George Best's shirts from his Fulham days, a signed Tom Cairney shirt and a whole host of other sporting memorabilia, featuring items from Manchester City, Manchester United and the GAA. The beer is very reasonably priced and all Fulham fans are assured of a very warm welcome.

Alternatively, there are a number of pubs in the Printworks, Deansgate or Town Hall areas of Manchester, which are ideally located to take a tram to the Etihad Stadium. Some city centre pubs may ask visiting supporters to cover up their colours – but Fulham fans have historically been welcomed into most city centre venues.

The Koffee Pot – A fried breakfast, and with the option of a pint if you so choose. Excellent pre-match fare.

Man City predicted line-up vs Fulham as Ruben Dias recalled but Omar Marmoush dropped
Manchester City welcome Fulham to the Etihad Stadium this evening knowing a win could cut the gap to Arsenal to just three points

Manchester City are back in Premier League action this evening as they welcome Fulham to the Etihad Stadium. The Blues have fond memories of their last clash with Marco Silva's side as they edged out a thrilling 5-4 win at Craven Cottage back in December.

City will be heavy favourites for this one having beaten Fulham in their last 19 matches against them and last lost to the London club back in 2009. The Blues are also on a high after beating Liverpool in dramatic circumstances on Sunday thanks to late goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.

With the games coming thick and fast, Pep Guardiola will be keen to rotate his squad slightly, albeit Saturday's clash with Salford City in the FA Cup will provide more opportunity for that. Regardless of the changes made outfield, Gianluigi Donnarumma will remain between the sticks this evening after his Anfield heroics.

Abdukodir Khusanov has made himself known in recent weeks, stepping up to the plate in the absence of first-team defenders. The Uzbekistan international was inadvertently clattered into by Donnarumma against Liverpool and was replaced as a concussion substitution but Guardiola confirmed in Tuesday's press conference he is available to start tonight.

That being said, Ruben Dias' return from injury and solid showing off the bench makes it easy not to risk the 21-year-old in midweek. Dias is likely to partner Marc Guehi who was sensational at Anfield and is already proving to be a brilliant addition to this title-challenging squad.

Rayan Ait-Nouri also impressed at the weekend after a tough start to life at City and he should retain his place at left-back allowing Nico O'Reilly to slot into a three-man midfield once again. Having scored and being heavily praised by Guardiola, captain Bernardo will be expected to keep his place too.

On Sunday, City went for the two-pronged attack of Omar Marmoush and Haaland as they looked to break down a shaky Liverpool defence. However, the Egyptian struggled on Merseyside and could be left out here to welcome back Rayan Cherki.

The Frenchman is unlikely to stay out of the starting XI for long and if anyone in the attack is going to be replaced for this game, it will be Marmoush. Both Haaland and Antoine Semenyo are undroppable at present.

City predicted XI vs Fulham: Donnarumma, Nunes, Dias, Guehi, Ait-Nouri; Rodri, O'Reilly, Bernardo; Semenyo, Haaland, Cherki
