Now that Fulham's season has ended, what should we be aiming for next season?

History says otherwise.

If the last two games hasn't proven to the higher ups just how important Harry is to this team, I don't know what will. Get Harry another contract should be first priority.

I wouldn't spend all the money on Wilson, he's looking imo for a major pay day which comes with a Bosman.

I'd be looking at no6 & no8 that require major upgrades to inject both aggression & tempo.

Our current options look to be auditioning for our walking football team.

I'm risk averse and I think keep Silva provided he isn't holding us to ransom.

Team wise, we need to sign a new CM playmaker and a new striker.

I would, on balance, pay the Chuk clause to keep him.

We just need to slowly keep building, I suppose. I would have reservations that Silva is able to take us "to that next level" however based on the last few years.

It's hard to tell if you're joking... you reckon we need to replace the squad as well?

Reed, TC, Muniz, Raul, Leno, Castagne for me need to go for various reasons

You forgot Robinson

Without having to have a Tetanus injection before hand.

But as we saw today, shite begets shite.

Absolutely.
Without Harry's goals and assists, we're gonna struggle.

Two quality midfield players should be the aim but we'll probably just buy some more wingers!

1. New signings as other have said. (probably RB, CM and ST for me, maybe even GK) but they absolutely must be under 24 with some scope for improvement and/or resale. We've done well rejuvenating the front four but we're still carrying lots of low value 29-35-year-olds in the rest of team who are going to be expensive to replace.

2. Hopefully integrate Amissah and/or Ridgeon.

3. Silva... let's see. Could give him another year. But absolutely wouldn't mind us taking a chance on someone new, again an ambitious young coach who plays the right way.

4. Won't happen but a new head scout/DOF would be ideal.

League position/cups shouldn't be the target IMO. Get those fundamentals right and the 6-8th place finishes and cup runs will come.

I do not believe that we are in risk of relegation.
I also do not believe that we will make Europe places.
Season not over but Meh. I feel a bit flat & as though I'm going through the motions. Hang on, reminds me of something.......

Modern football innit.

For 95% of all football fans, you just have to hope your club is well run, appoints a manager with intelligence who wants to play decent football and you enjoy the spectacle. Small moments come along every season that keep us engaged.

Got a mate who is a Lincoln fan. Closing in on 60 now, he was in tears yesterday as they won at Cardiff and went top of League 1. If they go up, will be a first and he is struggling to get to grips with it all.

How many clubs per season have success? Is success in a fans eyes the same as that of a club owner?

Danny Rohl looks the part to me.

If you know Silva is leaving, could have done that deal before he went to Rangers.

Difficult to get him out of a potential Champions League club though. I posted before Danny or Liam would have been my choices if feasible.

Quote from: Whitestone on March 08, 2026, 06:02:14 PMWe're four points off a European spot with nine games to go. The first thing we need to do is to regroup and focus on Forest. This season isn't done yet.

Yes it is important to regroup quickly, bounce back ability.
Try and finish the season on a high. Which will be a positive to launch ourselves into next season.
Start preparing early as possible for next season.
As for replacing Silva if he is not prepared to sign a contract due to what he feels the Club has not supported his ambitions. However not for the first time Silvas game management is mediocre and after the last week whereupon we have lost at home to 2 opponents who are currently lower than Fulham in the pecking order.
Marcos demeanour in the dugout recently indicates there is a fracture in the club.
So they either resolve the matter asap or the owners wherever they are need to make a few decisions if they can find the time, otherwise the rot will set in if the club sits on its hands.

I've said it before, but the message was the lineup he put out there. The players he put out still dominated possession, didn't make too many bad passes like we did against West Ham - so I'm not upset about the actual performance. Honestly, it was just finishing. We can't rely on Wilson or Iwobi in these moments - and we proved collectively that we have some trouble finishing without them. Muniz, Sess even Bobb, need to look at themselves and spend a lot more time on the training ground.

It may not be the worst idea to set up a friendly behind closed doors to see who can find the back of the net in open play. Light a fire under them because there were moments where that was needed badly in the match. Like Muniz letting the ball go out of bound for a corner, when he could've collected it deep in the opponent's box and kept an attack going. Just too many switch off moments like that - and something other than internal competition needs to hold players accountable.

No I can't get over it
Big opportunity against spam and gifted the game
Huge chance to get Wembley
And gifted saints in 91st minute
And there not the only games we gifted wins .
Yeah , I'm sick off it

I'm not sure, Matt. I would argue nearly all our chances were half chances. Eg Sess shooting from a tight angle, Muniz poking it from outside the penalty area just over the bar.

I would argue Southampton had 2 clear goals expected chances before half time alone.

I think it's hiding behind the numbers for Silva to claim 24 chances or what-have-you means we played well and we just need to finish better.

From my perspective, I wonder if the 9 changes were not "disrespecting the opposition" per se but trying to teach his players from the West Ham game a lesson. If so, a further loss yesterday could tip the dressing room against Silva.
