Bournemouth not hanging about

In the last two days they've announced that their manager is leaving at the end of the season and today it's being reported that they are about to announce that Marco Rose is going to replace him, absolutely seamless transition and he gets half a dozen games to assess his future squad
I sincerely hope that behind the scenes we've got an answer from Silva and we're secretly making our own moves,
Not that I'll be holding my breath.

Had to Google him and he's out of work. Some people here would have apoplexy that we had appointed an out of work manager within two days. Club can't win

True. I think the club's preference is for Marco to stay and he is weighing up his options to see if a better offer surfaces amid the expected end of season manager merry-go-round and he will stay on if a 'bigger' club doesn't come calling. Perhaps the club is also waiting to see who is available too (for example, an Eddie Howe situation). We don't know what is happening behind the scenes but no doubt there would still be criticism if we announced an out of work manager.

If Silva is stringing us along to see if a better offer comes along then SK should act now and move him on. We've had too much crap from players using us to get better deals we don't need it from our manager as well.

If he hasn't said anything about waiting to see what's around, he may not be. It's that good old longest word in the world. "IF"

Silva should either sign up or ship out now. As I have said, I think he's checked out his baggage and is off to Benfica.

There's nothing really left to play for this season unless a miracle happens and we sneak into the Europa places.

A new manager would have a few games this season to analyse the squad and a full window in the summer to bring his own requirements in, and get rid of the dross.

A real shame we aren't run like Bournemouth, who seem to be decisive, pro active and have excellent scouts. Something we are not good at!

You conveniently missed the point. He's been out of work for a year. No Premier League experience. He may be great but there are plenty of people on here who would have a pop if we did this.

We had a manager who came with a reputation
two consecutive Doubles (Bundesliga and German Cup titles) with Bayern Munich, and a further Bundesliga title with VfL Wolfsburg in 2009.
Didn't do us any good.

So what ? Did Iraola have Premier League experience? How about Glasner or what about the excellent Regis Le Bris at Sunderland, three managers that have all had a better season than Silva and yet none of them had any Premier League experience.

True, they've decisively scraped up a bloke who couldn't find a club and had zero experience of the Prem. Lucky them to be so well run. Let's see how things play out shall we?

How do you know we haven't prepared for the possibility that Silva leaves in the summer? Should we have made our plans public on the official website or should Shahid create an account here and let us know? Perhaps a private message to all of us would do?

Also, if Bournemouth announces Rose tomorrow as they are so proactive and decisive, how will that help him in analysing their squad? He will not be working with them, just watch their games. Will that be very much different from indecisive and reactive Fulham getting a new manager in June/July (in case Silva leaves) and the new manager watches tapes of our games?

H4usuallysitting

None of us know...but I'd be very surprised if the club hadn't made provision

Asotosyios

I am sure they have made provisions too Mr H4 - I doubt the club is just waiting for Marco without being prepared for the fact that he might say goodbye.

It just gets tiring sometimes reading such comments. It's not like Fulham or any other club have to make public their management process to the fans.

What is also tiring is always getting compared to the "flavour of the month". Don't get me wrong - I think Bournemouth are a very well run club and really respect Iraola as a manager. However, they are only 1 point above us with a better of goal of difference of 2 - you could hardly say they are way better than us.

Also, before the win at Emirates, they had 5 draws in a raw including three 0-0 and two at home against Sunderland and Brentford. Just imagine if that was Fulham: there would be dozens of threads about how we cannot score, our strikers are not good enough, Silva doesn't have a plan B and cannot win the games needed to take us to the next level. Not much different threads from the current ones, I guess.

We all bow to your greater knowledge, you are absolutely correct, this board would indeed be in total meltdown if Fulham went 12 games unbeaten in the Premier League culminating in a win at The Emirates,
Now you run along your mini bus is here.

Lack of loyalty is aggravating but I don't think you can accuse Marco of that. Always fights our corner and is seeing out his contract. Hopefully he'll sign another but we'll have to wait and see. We're not talking Roy Hodgson here who I believe was disloyal.

SuffolkWhite

If Marco stays or goes it may or may not be a good season next season anyway, but he has done well for us and I can only applaud his efforts for us.

It does seem all other clubs are run better than us, but when you look at the table this morning there are a lot of clubs in the same midtable situation give or take 3 points so something must be going right.

The manager who played the best football I've ever seen at Fulham will be at the Cottage in three weeks' time.
