The club have agreed to trial a singing section in block P4 of the Putney end against Newcastle with 50 tickets put aside .
Good idea or do we become a laughing stock

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

Isn't the whole ground technically a singing section.

Will supporters in other areas be prohibited from singing?

What happens if you're in the singing section and don't sing...? How many minutes of non-singing are permitted before you're kicked out?

Somerset Fulham

50?

Its pretty embarrassing really.

I've got this image of fifty people like the fat Welsh Go Compare bloke turning up to P4 on match day.

Whole thing is bizarre.

Edit: will they have a conductor?! We must explore this proposal more thoroughly.

Somerset Fulham

Yeah, if it isn't there naturally then you can't create or force it.  This is how our club has pretty much always been.

This is Fulham surely it will be Gareth Malone or Alexander Armstrong ( who can link up again with Richard Osman)

Very pointless

Make the putney end safe standing, lower ticket and beer prices. Boom more atmosphere.

Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

I had ST about two thirds back in H4 for several years. The "singing section" was basically the back of the Hammersmith end, presumably it's still the same?

We could get Claudia and The Piano - that would be good

Claireffcw

Its noticeable its 40 in the putney end and not in the dead quiet riverside

Hi all, I helped push for this. Appreciate a lot aren't keen but the atmosphere is flat every game at CC so the thought behind it was this could encourage noise in "quieter" areas of the ground. Negative comments understood but the thought behind it came from a good place in trying to improve things  ::scarf::

So how will I qualify for the singing section? - I assume there will be auditions, but will there be a panel of judges (perhaps Chairman Khan, Marco Silva, Club captain - TC etc?) to select the successful candidates?

...and if I'm lucky enough to be selected, and I have laryngitis on match day, will I need to bring a doctor's certificate with me to avoid being ejected for not singing loudly enough, or at all?

Well done Joe, great that you're trying to improve things.  ::scarf::

Yes agreed, my comments above are intended to be light hearted rather than mean.

But I'd just add my voice to Jimmy Hill's in saying that safe standing would have the biggest impact IMO.

In spite of my 'humorous' comments above, I applaud the sentiment. But do I believe there is definitely a quirk with acoustics at our ground. I'm a season ticket holder in H3 and at times it really does feel like the Cottage is rocking. But on occasions where I've been invited to sit in Riverside, that noise is truly muted.

Well said . I think all the comments were meant as such. I just couldn't help but see the funny side- it's just so us .

SP

I won't try & defend the lack of noise generated by the Lower Riverside but I'm normally too stressed to sing at games these days. One of the solutions may be to bring back comfortable FFC victories!

I'd better warm up my vocal chords
